@llamamamawearspajamapants you’re right. The day of birth is the qualifying event. Mostly I meant that you can start FMLA beforehand, but that it will eat out of your “free” paid time off. You can use your 12 weeks at any time over the year after birth or adoption.
I won't make you all jealous with what is available in NZ, but its similar to Canada. Hopefully the covid situation and the working from home has at least made companies/bosses more comfortable with people working from home and being flexible which might allow some of you more time.
I just looked up NZ and I think it is way better than Canada! And NZ looks gorgeous...and is Covid free? Very jealous lol
