Re: Random Thread

  • @aisukurimsarang good luck in your interview. I think a flowy top with an open blazer would work well!

  • @aisukurimsarang good luck with the interview! Im sure whatever you wear will look great, and if the interview is with a man I’d seriously doubt he has the balls to say anything even if he noticed anything!
  • @bbrahmbhatt I had RLS twice this week... I forgot about that from my last pregnancy!

@aisukurimsarang good luck at your interview, the outfit you described sounds like it should do the trick!
  • @aisukurimsarang good luck with the interview!
  • Good luck with your interview @aisukurimsarang! ❤️
  • Giant boobs do occasionally come in handy. I successfully hid my last pregnancy from my job up to 7 months because the polos were so unflattering that my 34h’s stuck the shirt out past my bump. So flowy top and open blazer for the win @aisukurimsarang ! Hope it goes great!
  • @aisukurimsarang good luck with the interview! That commute would certainly be lovely!
  • Super random. My MIL is living with us and her birthday is Wednesday. She had to cancel a trip to Prague, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna she had planned, so I want to make a little “trip” for her in our home with each room being a different course in a different country. I’ll have my 5yo dress up and be the pilot/tour guide. Anyone have ideas for cultural things to include and Identifiable foods? I’ve got a handle on Germany and I am going to make a Schwarzwalder kirschtorte for her birthday cake, and make some gluhwein, but I’m clueless on Austrian and Czech cuisine.
  • @aisukurimsarang Sounds like a good interview outfit plan to me.  Good luck!

  • @Serenamarr for Austria maybe an apple strudel as a dessert, or you could do a charcuterie board with meats and cheeses? Probably Mille ham/sausage/salami styles of meats could be gotten from a deli counter. For Czech foods I know the name seems wrong but French onion soup actually originated in Czech (originally from in Yugoslavia way back when!) and what we call rice pudding is from that region too!
That’s a great idea for including your kiddo into the tour too!
  • So I haven't been feeling the "frisky" feeling in my second trimester (23 weeks 2 days) and this morning it came on like a demon! Husband is very happy!
  • I just feel so lethargic and lazy today. I have so much to do and dont want to do any of it. I blew a radiator hose and need to reattach it. I need to finish laundry. I need to clean my room and do dishes.
  • @aisukurimsarang I’ve been putting off laundry and dishes for dayyyys and finally made myself do some of it today. The rest can wait until tomorrow. Or Friday. 😂 I’ll tell ya, after carrying a hamper down to the basement (two staircases total) and a laundry basket back up two staircases, I was wiped!
  • @bblair24 I refuse to carry laundry up and down the stairs anymore. I’ll happily wash, fold, and hang it up. But DH has to carry it down and back up. I fell down the stairs when I was pregnant with DS and now, with my heart racing and being out of breath, I just won’t do it.

@forevertired I usually get him to do it too! I forgot to ask him yesterday before he left for work and really needed to do the girls’ laundry so I just went for it. I can’t imagine how terrifying it would be to fall down the stairs while pregnant! I fell down a couple of ours while holding DD2 as a one year old and that was scary enough!

@bblair24, we live in a single story, so that's not an issue. It's the bending over for the front loading washing machine for 8 loads that kill me. I've taken to sitting on the floor in front of them to move clothes between the two.

Although, maybe asking someone else to carry the clothes in and out of the utility room would help a ton. Hey, DD1, can you bring me that load of darks and put this load on my bed to fold?
  • @aisukurimsarang, ugh bending is so hard! I was checking under the couch for snack bowls this evening (because they always end up under the couch 🙄) and I had to get DD1 to come check for me. It just wasn’t going to happen, haha! I say enlist the help of your own DD1!
  • @mamabee1113 same on the having to pee alllll the time. Went into work today and texted the staff chain I was going to go pee instead of my coworker friend - typical.

@Serenamarr I hate those dreams more than words.. I have def had quite a few about losing my son since being pregnant and they just stick with you.. so terrifying and upsetting!

@eahayes that is pretty funny that you texted the whole staff chain!

@bblair24 and @aisukurimsarang agreed on bending over, it's the worst! I'm convinced this baby is determined to live as far down in my pelvis as she can till the day she comes out. DH and I have an arrangement for DD1's bedtime... he does bath time since it's so uncomfortable to bend and I do books and lights out. I also end up washing the same load of laundry like 5 times because i just sit and stare at our front loaders and then walk away, because it's just too much.
  • @cagncoo12 haha your comment reminded me that there’s a small load of towels in the washer right now! That I will be rewashing in the morning. 😂 Same with this baby laying low! All of his kicks are way down in my belly. He must have rolled around because yesterday they were up much higher and on the right side. Today it’s back to the bottom left! I haven’t done bath time in months! No way I’m going to lean over the tub and wash all that hair, haha.
  • @bblair24 I've taken to getting on my hands and knees and doing "Cat-cows" to see if I can get her to move up  :D I don't think she cares.
  • Haha @cagncoo12, I agree that these babies don’t care in the least what they’re doing to us. 😂
  • @bblair24 @cagncoo12 I agree! At my 20 week ultrasound baby girl was stretched out and lying sideways... I was like "well, I guess she's comfy"
  • Hey ladies, quick question...I've been feeling what I can only describe as "taps" or muscle twitches just above my pubic bone the last couple of days. Is this a weird muscle stretch or is that movement? This anterior placenta and this being my first pregnancy has had me not feeling a ton up to this point. What do you guys think?
  • @bbrahmbhatt I'd say that could definitely be movement! How far along are you? I'm 21ish weeks (almost 22 I think) with an anterior placenta and am starting to feel movements more regularly. If you keep feeling it, I'd guess that it's the baby!
  • @bblair24 I'm 21 weeks and a couple of days. Yay you're feeling more regular movement! Hopefully I will be joining you on that train soon!
  • @bbrahmbhatt I hope you will too! It's definitely a game-changer to start feeling regular wiggles. It's definitely hard to discern at first - with the location, it can be hard to tell if it's digestion or the baby, haha!
  • @bbrahmbhatt sounds like maybe baby has the hiccups ☺️
  • @bbrahmbhatt, I'm 22w5d with an anterior placenta and just started feeling consistent movement in the last few weeks. I feel her low and along the sides, as well as thumps to my bladder and I swear she's kicking my ovaries, too.

The out facing kicks feel like taps, while the ones that are more internal feel like solid thumps. SO finally felt her for the first time a couple of days ago.
  • Found out today (22w) I have a two vessel cord... is there a thread already on this? I’m clueless and couldn’t get into the MFM until mid January. Just so many thoughts swirling around in my head!!
  • edited December 2020
@Serenamarr, I'm sorry. That's scary. One of the women in my Jan 2020 boards had a one artery cord, I think. She was monitored through her MFM, and delivered safely at 38 or 39w, I think. IIR, it was a scheduled induction, but she didn't have any complications, and baby wasn't IUGR or SGA.
  • @aisukurimsarang from everything I’m reading it seems like if it’s the only thing wrong it’s usually fine. They said everything looks perfect on my ultrasound, but the MFM will do more imaging. It is annoying though that I had to wait two weeks for someone to even tell me this because if I had known back when I got the AS I could have already seen the MFM and not be driving myself crazy wondering if there’s anything I should be doing!
  • @Serenamarr I’m sorry you have to wait so long to get into the MFM! I don’t have any experience with that condition but have in the past had high risk pregnancies and currently got diagnosed with another issue. It’s definitely stressful just waiting for more information. I’ll send some positive vibes your way that they just want to get a few extra ultrasounds during the pregnancy and keep an eye to make sure baby is doing well!

@bbrahmbhatt sounds like you’re feeling some baby wiggles, yay! Or like @juliebird6 said maybe even some hiccups! Enjoy those little movements!!
  • @Serenamarr I’m so sorry you have to wait! Sending positive thoughts.
    Pregnancy Ticker

  • Thanks ladies. Trying to stay positive. Wondering if there’s anyone else dealing with this! Supposedly it’s in 1 percent of pregnancies.
  • I went back to work this week, and the swelling is nuts. Since I have gestational hypertension, I'm more likely to develop pre-eclampsia. My hands, face, and feet are NOT swollen. Just my lower legs. I do have a headache, but Juniper/Mt Cedar is sky high right now, and this feels like a sinus headache.

Any teleworkers with suggestions for minimizing swelling? I used to work from the couch but it's harder with this job, where I'm constantly working on something.
  • Has anyone tried a magnesium lotion to help with sleep? This brand 8sheep almost got me with the pregnancy sleep lotion ad on facebook, but in the end I decided to cheap out and DIY a magnesium lotion by adding magnesium oil to a lotion I already own.  I'll throw a few drops of lavender essential oil in there for good measure.  Has anyone found magnesium to be helpful with sleep?  I am so achey when I wake up at night, especially my hips.  I'm hoping this will help.

  • @kadeephd I haven’t tried it, but I know the ad you’re talking about. It showed up during one of my insomnia periods when I was awake at 3:30 am for no reason. Facebook is so creepy that way. 😂 I was totally sold on it until I realized the cost. I hope your DIY fix helps! I read a bunch of comments/reviews on that lotion and people raved about it.
  • SO and DS1 were FINALLY able to feel her kick! This last few days, I'm feeling her a ton more. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Also, moving to the couch and putting my feet up for the rest of today DID help with the swelling. So, I think what I'll do is spend at least 2 hours a day working from the couch or my bed. And, I've already told my man that I will be spending a lot of Sat and Sun guzzling tea (I hate water) and propping my feet.
