@bbrahmbhatt I'm sure you don't look like the Michelin man! But I totally feel you. I ran a race last weekend and got the race photos back and wanted to cry - It was so hard for me to see what I look like now, even though I haven't gained too too much more than I "should" be. It's so rough! I also feel like a "bad" pregnant lady when I don't work out as much as I "should" and eat pancakes with reckless abandon (like I did this morning), but I'm trying to give myself grace (to be fair, it's not really working, but I'm trying).
@juliebird6 That does make me feel better! I've been exercising more consistently since I started the second trimester and am upset to still see the scale going up so much, but it's good to know you can keep being active and still gain more than the "recommended" amount, in the event my doctor ever starts giving me a hard time. And it's great to know that you were able to get back to where you wanted to be both times! Major props
Thrilling weekend over here. 😬 I posted the other day asking for advice about Miralax/stool softeners. I ended up with Miralax but unfortunately it was too little too late. I was in such awful pain Friday night I was actually starting to get scared (between the pain and some other things that definitely fall in to the TMI category), so I called the nurse line around 11:00 pm. She gave me good advice, including to up the Miralax to twice a day over the weekend, and also helped me to calm down in regards to the baby. She assured me that as awful as it was, constipation like I was describing wasn’t uncommon. So Friday and most of yesterday just sucked. Tonight I started paying the price of 5 doses of Miralax over 3 days but I don’t even care. I’m just thankful for relief! 😅 She helped me determine that the Zofran was likely the cause of it, so now I’m not sure I want to take it anymore because I certainly don’t want to end up like that again.
@bblair24 ugh constipation pain is so awful! Those gut cramps are just the worst. I'm glad you've gotten some relief! I've been having good luck with adding fiber to my diet and eating yogurt every day, so maybe that's a gentler approach you can try when your belly feels normal again. Glad things got moving for you!
@riff323 yes it was intense - I could hardly walk! I definitely need to look at some diet changes that I can incorporate once I can eat normally again. I love yogurt but never think to buy it!
Haha I’m glad things got moving again too 🤣 I'm hoping today will bring less movement though, if I’m honest! 😂
@anarmillay92918 thanks lady! I actually didn't really gain much, maybe half a pound last week (which I think is what is recommended for me), so I feel a little better about that.
@bblair24 oh no! I hate that you had to go through that, but I'm glad you got a remedy and are starting to feel better!
yesss @bblair24 on the random pains! And also feel you on the constipation too - been having way too many extremely difficult poops lately lol (sorry for TMI). We currently have a little step stool that lives in the bathroom and that helps a little bit. My pregnant friend who is also a nurse said she's been using colace (stool softener) and that its helped a lot so I may try that at some point.
