Re: Low AMH Level

  • @JamieH2000 I have 3 alarms on my phone to keep organized and I try to set out all my meds each night so it's easy to take them.  I'm doing PIO every 3 days and patch every other so I also have it written on our calendar.  It's a lot of organization.  Do you have plans to keep busy between transfer and beta?

  • @andreamm31 I see it! Hope you have a restful weekend and it goes by quick so your beta will be here in no time.
    @JamieH2000 Yes I am super excited.  I have never had a transfer and a bit nervous, all my IVF had been cancelled or converted to IUI for low response.  I have 13 embryos and did not have the PGS testing, honestly wish we had but we did not think we would have these many to test and the program is a guarantee of 4 and said we would get 4-6. I think  I will end up testing early but nervous I will start doing it too soon and get upset if I do not see the 2 lines. When is the best time to test?   My HCG will be 10 days after on Nov 20.
  • @JamieH2000 Congratulations on the house! That’s a perfect distraction.
    Not sure about next scan. If things go well on Monday I will graduate from RE and I’ll see my OB on 12/1 and I assume schedule another scan. I don’t remember how many I had with Duke before the anatomy scan at 19 weeks.

    @Imajin99 I’m so excited for you. The actual transfer is nothing to be nervous about. It can be a little uncomfortable if they require you to have a full bladder but otherwise it’s very simple. I would recommend you try not to test until a week after your transfer. If it’s successful you should see a positive test by then.

    Imajin99 - Yup, the actual transfer is a piece of cake comparatively speaking.  Do what you can to reduce stress in the days around it.  Also, yeah hold out as long as you can to test.  I always give in and test 4 days post transfer and it's always torture seeing that stark white (simply because it's too early) or trying to figure out if that shadow is actually a line, etc.
  • @laurad75 Thank-you, still a bit nervous but I have had plenty of IUIs so I hear it can be quite similar.  I will try to hold out as long as possible and keep myself distracted. However I did take the remainder of the week off as Nov 11 is a Stat holiday and decided to take thrus & friday off as well.

    @c-town18 Thank you!

    @JamieH2000 Congrats on the new house! Wishing you an amazing transfer on Monday in case I do not catch you tomorrow evening.

    AFM: Transfer set for Tuesday, they will call me on Monday to confirm the time. Wanted to ask you all as today after taking estrace and endometerin suppositories I had massive cramping and was in great pain and sweating profusely.  Never had this before and it scared me, was curled up in a ball and debated going to the ER.  It did all pass after about 30 mins and I spoke with the nurse at clinic and said it could be the meds but to go to the ER if it happens again.  Thankfully it has not happened this morning, anyone ever experience anything like that?
  • @andreamm31
    that's a very promising line!! excited for you - i know you've been on quite the trip with this IF crap! Hope you get a nice beta on Monday :smiley:

    @laurad75
    fx for tomorrow!

    @Imajin99
    I got horrible hot flashes on progesterone supplements but no cramping or pain; hopefully it was just a flukey reaction thing.

    @JamieH2000
    Congrats on the new house! Yeah, hard to put life on hold while we wait for our IF ducks to fall into place. We had to convert one of our offices back into a bedroom so we'd have a place for a nursery AND offices for us and it was really nerve-wracking doing that while going through the adoption process and then ultimately IVF. And then replacing my husband's car during our ER back in 2017 and him not anticipating that a sports car might not be the best choice if we're hoping to be pregnant that fall lol. i remember getting the calls about our embryo progress while I was sitting at the dealership doing all of the paperwork for that.

  • I'm so excited for all the good things this week! FX to @andreamm31 @JamieH2000 @laurad75 @Imajin99

    @Imajin99 so excited for you this week! Transfer is finally here! I have never had that reaction to progesterone or estrogen. However, estrogen dilates your pores so hot flashes are common. I definitely have lots of them and get night sweats. Hopefully that was just a fluke reaction -- hormones do plenty of weird stuff. For me the estrogen also gives me weird skin issues, scaly dry patches, and the PIO gave me a rash too but I think that was a filler in it. It's possible that you didn't have a good reaction to the oil base in the PIO. I think I ended up using one with a linseed base and switched away from the sesame/peanut oil base. I think it's good you took time off -- I also did and I think it was helpful in reducing stress. My clinic does prescribe valium for transfer but I would say it's really optional and not necessary. I have a little PTSD from an HSG that was botched and horrible so I get nervous about all procedures but it was easy.

    @JamieH2000 wow, you have a lot going on! I totally understand what you mean though...I feel like a lot of my life these past 3 years has just been a holding pattern for IF. And it sucks! Ugh.

    @c-town18 how are you feeling??? You're getting along there!

    @lmajin99- wow! 13! We got 12. And did pgs later too... transfer is easy compared to everything else. I wouldn’t test before 5 days. Some people don’t even get lines until 7! I’m undecided about testing early... sorry to hear about the cramping! That does sound scary. I sure hope it’s nothing!!

    @laurad75- wow, only 1 Scan at your RE?! Mine does 5.5, 6.5, 7.5 and 8.5 weeks. Maybe your RE can fit you in for another one before you graduate?

    @mbradfo2- right, there is no good time in life to deal with all this stuff!! Hopefully winter will be calmer for you guys!

    @andreamm31- thinking of you tomorrow too!!

    @lucyb1954- thank you! Hope you have been feeling better lately!!

    AFM- I’m nervous for tomorrow. Transfer timing should have been 1130 based on my 96 hours, but they are swamped with retrieval’s in the morning so it’s not until 1. They say that the ErA timing is plus/minus 3 hours but it nervous somehow we will transfer too late... this science is just so Not perfect, I know. But it doesn’t give my confidence...

  • Thanks everyone, no further issues today so just hope as you said just a strange reaction.
    @JamieH2000 Good luck tomorrow, I can understand your nervousness but I know that this clinic has been amazing for you and RE knows exactly what they are doing in your situation.
    @lucyb1954 Thanks again for all your continued support.  How is the nausea now?
  • Thanks @lmajin99. I agree with everyone, do not test early!  I did it on day 5 post transfer and got stark white and I knew it was too early and it went against my better judgment, but it messed with my head a bit.  Try to wait at least till day 7 or 8.  I had that very faint line on day 8. Ive never experienced anything like that after taking meds....but I agree, if it happens again, I would go to the doctor!
    @JamieH2000 congrats on the new house! I wouldn't stress too much about the timing.  I think you will be just fine!   Wishing you the best of luck girl!
    @mbradfo2 Thanks friend!!!  Hopefully it gets darker!
    @lucyb1954  thanks girlie!

    AFM: Im a little freaked out because my implantation spotting has lasted for 4 days now and its a fair amount.  Enough I need a liner, debris in the toilet, and just brown when I wipe.(luckily no red) ....but I keep reading implantation spotting should last no more than 3 days.  I had implantation spotting like this for my first pregnancy and spotted like this for 5 days straight then it turned into bleeding and I had a chemical.  So Im super freaked out this is going to be a chemical. Has anyone had implantation spotting this long.   I tested yesterday with a different brand test because I have 2 First response and 2 blue ones.  So yesterday the blue one looked ok and seemed darker than the FRER.  But then I did FRER today and I really cant see a progression, it still looks super faint.  So tomorrow I will do the blue one (alternating them so they are 48 hours apart each) and praying its getting darker and then I have my beta at 830am.  I have no idea how long it will take to get results.  I feel like the FRER suck!  They sucked for my last pregnancy and were faint forever then I had a beta and it was close to 5000! So I feel like they are increasing my anxiety.

  • @andreamm31, I cannot comment on the implantation bleeding as I never had it before.  Glad your beta will be tomorrow and call you early with the results.  Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.
  • @JamieH2000 I’m sure everything will be fine but I wish the timing was better just so you weren’t so anxious. I’ll be thinking of you.

    I’m pretty sure they only did one scan with Duke because everything looked good but I would love a second before I am discharged from RE. I’ll ask about that today.

    @andreamm31 brown blood is totally normal. I hope you get the results back quickly. GL today!

    My ultrasound is at 9:15. I’ll let you guys know how it goes. I’m so hopeful but understandably anxious.

  • @laurad75- glad it’s early so you don’t have to wait too long! No hubby allowed right? I’m gonna be anxiously waiting for an update, but all signs point to good news for you!!!

    @lmajin99- mahbe it was just coincidence with the meds? Perhaps more digestion related? Whenever I have had extreme cramping, that’s been the cause for me...glad it hasn’t returned tho!!

    @andreamm31- you are also going to be in my thoughts constantly. How much progesterone are you on? I would have your levels checked today if you can... assuming they are above 10-15, you def shouldn’t be spotting from a “period”.  I think brown is ok, but I hear your concern about the darkness of the lines. FRER always were the most accurate for me, but maybe you have a bad batch? Sending all my prayers for a good strong beta for you!! I

  • I just pulled into the clinic 30 min early for my ultrasound.  I figure I can at least get the ultrasound early and then I’ll just have to wait for my appt with the NP.  My favorite sonographer (I’ve been at this clinic a long time) emailed me this morning that she will be on the lookout for me so at least I’ll have her and I know she will give me as much info as possible. That made me feel much better.

  • @laurad75 Yayyyy!!!! Been checking for updates, so happy to see this! I have also been with my clinic a long time and when I got pregnant they kind of just let me come in every week for ultrasounds until I saw an OB at 10 weeks. I hope you can get in again soon!

    @andreamm31 I think that spotting is pretty normal but for sure ask about it. I also know that the progestin suppositories can also cause that sort of thing. I found FRERs to be more accurate, but I also had much better lines with afternoon pee than with morning pee. Not sure why, but I do think time of day can impact things. Crossing everything and holding my breath for you!

    @JamieH2000 I'm sure anything that is any different than usual is worrisome at this point and I think that's totally understandable. I'm sure it will be fine but it is scary. With my transfer, they were running a few minutes behind, and I had to drink more water and move around a bit because they couldn't see my uterus well (I was also supppper constipated! Yay progesterone!) so my original transfer time was delayed by an hour and it turned out good. They had the embryo ready in the tube and everything and then they had to go put it back! Also crossing everything for you and wishing you all the best <3<3<3
  • @andreamm31
    I had spotting that started about 4-5 days after my transfer and lasted until 12 weeks on the nose, no cause found on ultrasound. It was usually brown, sometimes red and sometimes pink. My nurse said it was really common in IVF pregnancies because we're taking all sorts of meds to support the creation of the placenta and there's so much blood flow going on in that area. To be on the safe side, they had me on light activity since any heavy movement/etc seemed to make it worse. So I got to just veg on the couch and play video games for the first trimester lol instead of doing household chores.

    @laurad75
    Awesome news! I was sorta in the same position as @lucyb1954 since my RE saw me every week until 10 weeks and then I saw my OB at 12 weeks. But he was being super cautious since I had a previous early loss.

    laurad75 - Yesssss!  Congrats to you!  Such great news.

    @andreamm31- I had brown spotting around 7 to 8 weeks, and it lasted a few days and was not heavy.  My RE clinic was really not concerned, said it's common and not necessarily a sign of anything being wrong.  I understand why you're concerned though of course. You've got a beta today right?  I am hoping you get some reassuring news.

    @JamieH2000 - Thinking of you today girl!  Happy transfer day to you.
  • @laurad75 Congrats lady! So happy to have logged in to see your post.  I am glad they will be booking another ultrasound for you as it can be so reassuring.
    @JamieH2000 Hoping the transfer went nice and smooth! Thanks for your feedback about digestive issues as I did feel super constipated while I was having the pain, after I was able to muster enough energy to use the washroom that is when I did start feeling a bit better so def could have been a combination.
    Quick question, whenever you have time, are you able to have embies tested after they have been frozen?  I will also ask my clinic this as well for the remaining embies if that is possible to do.
  • andreamm31 - YESSSS!  Oh girl, if you had told me that they were knockoff FRERs I would have told you to throw those in the trash.  I had a terrible experience in July with Walgreens brand FRERs.  Don't trust 'em.

  • @c-town18 No girl, the ones that sucked were the real FRER!!!!  The ones that worked better were the knockoff rite aid ones.  The test I posted first on Friday was a FRER!  I think I just got a bad batch or something.  This same thing happened with FRER on my last pregnancy.  They barely showed a line!  Ill post it under here in a spoiler to show you.

    @JamieH2000 YAY!! So happy the timing worked out perfectly for you.  What a relief!  I think waiting is a good idea.  At least wait till day 7 or 8.
    @ladyp0tter YES GIRL YES!!  Lets get you preggo too so we can deliver our half siblings on the same day!!  Gina typically delivers her babies a few weeks early and since this will be my first baby, I expect to go a week late which may possibly put us on the same day!

    Repeat beta on Wednesday!  Praying for a good doubling!

  • Thank you ladies for the well wishes.  It went well and smooth this afternoon. RE was a delayed a bit and the hardest part was holding my bladder.  The actual procedure was very quick and unpainful and we are able to have DH on facetime.  Embryologist said the embryo was perfect and hatching and the belly ultrasound showed the lining looked really well - was not measured during this method.  Guess it is PUPO now.

    @andreamm31 Good luck tomorrow, cant wait to see the doubling of your numbers.

    @LadyPotter Awesome, you can have the transfer soon and everything looked good at the ultrasound.

    Its a busy month for us here! To the best November!
  • @Imajin99
    Hatching is perfect -- means that little one is ready to burrow in and make their home :smile:
    I actually didn't have DH with me for our transfer because he was trying to conserve time off from work so he could take fully paid leave once a baby arrived -- and I was sorta overwhelmed by that point from the months of testing, stims, meds that it just felt like another step in a long process that I had to get behind me. It was the only way I could guard my heart from another brutal disappointment if it didn't work. I guess we become experts at that with IF.

    @ladyp0tter woo, yay for transfer next week! Hopefully we'll have good news all around in November. Certainly seems like this year can use it, lol.

    @andreamm31
    Hoping for some good news for you too! I went all out on the Christmas decorations and hubby barely batted an eye. lol  Looking forward to the holidays and hoping everyone has good reasons to celebrate :smile:

    I remember the Christmas and Thanksgiving after my first m/c being particularly painful...actually ended up skipping Thanksgiving because I went to my parents' house but seeing my sister there with my two year old niece and one on the way (my baby would have been due a month after hers) was just too hard. I broke down in their spare bedroom and we went home. I came back later when I felt a little better and talked to my parents, but missed the actual celebrations. And then the following Thanksgiving/Christmas was so different as I was 5 months pregnant with DD then and just sorta in a haze. This past Thanksgiving/Christmas (2019) felt just really special and I felt so blessed in my journey. I remember hubby going over to see some neighbors the evening before Thanksgiving as I roasted eggplants for my favorite dip and DD slept peacefully in her room and just feeling really blissful. I hope everyone gets to have little moments like that; they are just amazing and worth all of the pain/suffering we go through to get there.

  • It's been great coming on this board lately; so many positive vibes and positive results. FX @JamieH2000 and @Imajin99 ! Can't wait to hear your second beta @andreamm31 ! so awesome @laurad75 !

    AFM just taking the estrogen; having that familiar feeling of nausea. I add more tonight vaginally. Lining check on on Monday. I'm just hoping to get a transfer in before elective surgeries shut down again. I might not make it. Some that require an overnight stay are already shutting down where I live. So, just trying to keep an even keel.

  • @lrynwnab. Hopefully you can get in before things close down.   If your are in the middle of a cycle,  I can't imagine they would stop you.
    @lmajin99 happy the transfer went well!! Hatching is a great sign!!

    AFM, im trying not to freak out and just stay calm.   But my Hcg did not double.   I went from 92 to123.  My doctor obviously wants me to repeat on Friday and keep on lookout for signs of ectopic.  But I've gone through multiple forums and everything I saw with low rising betas is that it can happen and doesn't mean it won't be successful.  Trying to hold onto the fact I only had brown implantation spotting for 4 days (no blood at all), and this embaby was practically fully hatched and excellent grade.   I have zero spotting since Monday night and my numbers are at least going up. Plus my estrogen and progesterone are perfect.  I could just be the 15% whose betas slowly rise and doesn't match with clinical picture.  It may buy me an earlier ultrasound with my OB as she is very cautious with me after my uterine artery rupture.  So if anyone has a story of a slow rising beta and still having success,  let me know!!!

    @andreamm31
    My second beta with DD did not double although it started higher;  it went from around 350 for beta 1 to just over 500 for the 2nd one. That was a double transfer also which likely accounts for the higher base numbers since both blasts did implant. The third beta was 2k so it basically quadrupled after the first two were a little slow.

    Sometimes the frozen embies just take a little longer to latch on and start producing HCG; I've seen it happen a couple times with early betas == either starting super low and beginning to double after the 2nd beta or just barely doubling initially and then picking up the pace by the 3rd or 4th beta.

    As my RE likes to say, it's out of our hands now and in the hands of God/higher power/etc and we just have to hold tight and keep moving forward with faith that we're still heading towards our desired destination, even if it seems like we can't see it quite yet.

    Also, if it helps, my first pregnancy had perfectly doubling/tripling betas (360 to almost 1k) and ended in an early m/c...so I wouldn't take this as a sign or anything until you get another beta and/or u/s.

    @Imajin99 hey lady!!!!! Perfect hatching  embryo with great lining?! Sounds like everything is coming together beautifully!!!!!! Fingers crossed and hoping so hard for you!!!!

    @andreamm31 hang in there lady. I never had luck the times my beta didn’t double but I have followed ladies where it absolutely did!!  And now they have real life babies!  Keeping everything crossed for you! Just try to let go for now and relax as much as you can, which I know is pretty damn hard.

    @JamieH2000 sounds like things went perfectly for you!! I’m so so glad to hear!! And now the all too familiar wait!!!! Crossing everything!!!!!!!!!!  All the !!!!!!!!!!’s
    Me: Hashimoto Autoimune Disease
    Homozygous MTHFR Cr677
    DOR - AMH  .27 High FSH (don't even know how high)
    2 iui's to start - BFN
    IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5!    2 5AA 1 6BB  PGS results =  all abnormal :(
    IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty.  Nothing made it to day 5
    IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval
    IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
    IVF 5 - Canceled -  looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
    IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS

    Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!!  1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.

    FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol
    Chemical pregnancy
    FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN
    Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2????   Miscarriage at 8 weeks.  viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal :(

    DEIVF cycle - picked a donor who is willing to be open! Her cycle resulted in in 4 PGS Normal embryos
    1st transfer - chemical pregnancy
    2nd transfer - success, May 17 2020 due date!
