Update! Today I found out I had all 12 eggs fertilize and @ladyp0tter had 9 fertilize with 1 questionable. Grow embabies grow!

@c-town18 you are so right, I have to keep reminding myself that we are dealing with very high quality, young eggs that are proven to survive. I know both Gina and I will end up with way more high quality embryos than what we even need. Feeling hopeful and positive that we are pleasantly surprised on Thursday with how many embryos go the distance!

@andreamm31- great update!! I know that there is never “enough” and we always would like more but I think those numbers are very goos for fertilization! I believe we had 17 eggs fertilize and we got 12 embryos! Quality over quantity for sure!!

@hopefuljj- so good to hear from you! I couldn’t agree more about getting the baby that was meant for me. Crazy to think my DS is the 7th embryo we transferred. I’m trying to remember there is a reaaon baby 2 is taking so long. I have my heart set on one of the next two embryos working (girls), otherwise the 3rd embryo would be a boy!

@jamieH2000 - Thank you!! Our next update will be Thursday for Day 5 blast results. Hoping they all make it by day 5!!! Then the PGS wait. Seems like this clinic gets those results within 7-10 days.

AFM, CD1 was yesterday (yay) so my RE is having me come in tomorrow to do bloods and a scan -- and also finish all the paperwork. He thinks a November cycle might be best; I'm a little concerned that it will spoil the holidays for me if I'm worrying over the stims and ER. He's very hesitant about not using BCP to regulate since I've been so irregular...are there any journal studies that show it's not the best protocol for low AMH? Our package gives us a second retrieval if the first one didn't produce a good number of blasts.

@JamieH2000 hey lady, I hope the hysterscopy went smoothly or goes smoothly if you haven’t had it yet. And that the wait till next week (dear god all we ever do is wait on this journey) goes quickly. Xo

@mbradfor2 cycling over the holidays is tough, So do what’s best for you. BCP with DOR has been thought to oversupress the ovaries and most RE’s that specialize in low AMH don’t use it. Estrogen priming could be challenging if you are super irregular I guess because you tend to use that x amount of days before your period comes if I remember correctly ...I think you start it around cycle day 21, so yeah, I guess if your cycles are all over the place it could be difficult to determine what day to start it on...So frustrating!

@mbradfo2- any chance you could just start stunning this cycle depending on your AFC? A lot of low AMh women do a natural start. The risk is a lead follicle, but if there isn’t one at your baseline it should be fine!!

thanks for all the good thoughts! Hysterscopy showed a small polyp and some scar tissue, which is new to me! Glad we did it and got it all cleaned out. Scar tissue can come back, so I’m really hoping the biopsy is good so we can transfer in 5.5 weeks!! Hopefully will know in less than a week

@mbradfo2 dont be afraid to speak up and say what you would prefer. If they can go ahead with a cycle now, then ask for that. Hopefully you get the go ahead and can start soon.

@ladyp0tter got her call first and found out out of her 9 fertilized, she has 4 day 5 blasts that are all good quality and then 3 more they are watching for tomorrow.

I got my call a whole hour after Gina and can I just tell you how anxious i was! I have 8 embryos out of 12 and the other 4 are still kicking and in the running for tomorrow! I am so freaking excited and cannot believe what a great cycle we had! Now the 2 week wait begins!

@c-town18 - YEP...this wait will be so hard because it is just the last "piece" of the puzzle. it's like you KNOW with good fertilization, you are bound to end up with some embryos, but honeslty it is a crapshoot on PGS at this point...lol.. All I can pray is that the fact that she is younger and these are NOT my eggs....we can expect at least 1/2 of them to be normal. So if I can get 1 more tomorrow I can hope for 2-3 normal. I don't think Andrea has ANYTHING to worry about at this point!! LOL!! She will get her 3 babies....

Thanks @JamieH2000 @c-town18 and @FuzzyDust! The crazy thing is....her last cycle, out of 17, they got 10 embryos and all were PGS normal! So we have a very high likelihood of having all normal embryos as well! I honestly am not even worried because I know both Gina and I will have plenty of embryos to work with! Our transfer day is Oct 29th! Gina and I will get to meet for the first time in person, and I cant wait! I owe my sister the biggest squeeze ever! We are hoping to have a socially distanced meetup with @lucyb1954 who gave us the idea to go to her clinic and made all of this possible. Forever grateful for this group of amazing ladies!

@ladypotter- remind me, you were just hoping for one more child? And @andreamm31- is shooting for 3?! I sure hope you both have more than enough embryos! Tho that has its challenges too... another update today?! Amazing you will all be able to meet in person! Do you both have to fly to Utah?

afm- feeling better after my hysterscopy. Trying not to go into spiral mode a little bc I worry about the scar tissue. It can come back- bad (ashermans I think it’s called). But again, the odds shouldn’t be high. I’m just so paranoid somehow I won’t be able to carry again. Just trying to stay busy and distracted until we get the biopsy results. If they are negative, it’s full stay ahead for 11/9 transfer. If there is still some inflammation, I have an appt with my RE to talk next steps on Friday. There is just such minimal science on how much some endometritis would effect implantation. I don’t want to gamble with one of my two pgs normal girls, but at the same time, the more we keep delaying and doing more antibiotics and biopsies, the more chance for polyps or scar tissue to come back...

All this fertilization and freeze talk has me wondering.... I mean we will most likely not do another ER. So we get what we get at this point. I wanted five!!! 🤣 But anyway our first cycle we got 18 eggs and only 3 to freeze; second back to back was 21 eggs and 4 to freeze. We lost a lot at fertilization, and then more that arrested. It was so hard to see the numbers go down each time like that. 😔 (We stopped there because it's also important to us to transfer all, so we didn't want to end up with an unmanageable number.)

LSS, we were using surgically extracted sperm and icsi, but I can't help but wonder how much of our results could have been due to egg quality, even though I didn't have a known issue!? I have heard that fertilization is more about egg quality than sperm, but I don't know how much of that is true, because it seems backwards to me. 🤷

Anyway, wishing all of you ladies the best of luck!!! I am hoping for at least one more out of my last two embies, which are non PGS and the lowest graded, so I am just holding my breath.

GL! I don't know much, but I have heard the same about not using bcps with low amh. Not sure what the other types of protocols might look like tho... Maybe someone else has more experience, or even if you search back in this thread or other online resources?

UPDATE: We got our day 6 update!!! Gina has a total of 7 embryos out of her 9 fertilized to send for PGS testing. I have a total of 10 embryos out of my 12 fertilized! Holy freaking amazing embryos! My grading is as follows: AA, AB, BB, AB, BA, BB, AB, BB ,BB ,BC. They told us they are sending the embryos Monday and it usually takes a week for results. But based on her last cycle with all normal embryos, we are feeling pretty confident we will have a similar result. Soooooo happy!!!! Hoping my AA is a girl and Gina hopes her AA is a boy after already having 3 girls!

andreamm31 ladyp0tter - YESSSSSS! OMG what great news to send you ladies into the weekend. Also don't get too caught up on the grading; my clinic has repeatedly explained that knowing that an embryo is PGS normal is much more important than the grading if that makes sense (*TW* this came up in the context of me freaking out that the embryo I was planning to transfer in July was a 3AB even though it was PGS normal; it totally didn't matter and I'm 14 weeks today. My son was also an "AB" embryo but PGS normal and that obviously worked out as well. *End TW*) Are you guys both going to arrive in Utah at the same time for your transfers? Anything fun planned while you are there?

@c-town18 - THANK YOU!! We are so blessed!! Yep, I have been scouring the internet looking at the chances of BC embryos!! HAHA!! I hope if they are all normal, I won't need to get to them, but just trying to be prepared.

We are both getting there the day before the transfer, so likely we will have dinner that night. Day of transfer, likely have a couple hours in the morning for ourselves since our transfers are like 2pm or so. Friday as long as everything feels ok, I want to do some light walking at this park they have next door called Evermore. It's like a live action Renaissance Festival that is kind of like a theme park (with no rides)...mostly like role playing and interacting with characters. We both fly home Saturday. I told my husband he would likely need to take my other kiddo's Trick or Treating while I rest. CANT WAIT!!! I fly back on Tuesday next week for my Baseline ultrasound.

@andreamm31@ladypotter OMG!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing results lady! Just incredible!! Don’t let those high grades fool you, lol I feel like some of the last perfect ones are often the ones I’ve seen stick for ladies! In all my OE cycles my AA embryos were always PGS abnormal! I wonder which ones were normal for my donor cycle because a few came back abnormal! I don’t even know but I do know the one that stuck was the second best grade cuz the best grade (and PGS normal) first transfer didn’t work.

You ladies must be so so so thrilled!!!!!!!!!

<div class="Spoiler">We just had our second in August. :). I was able to have a vbac this time, so not sure what that will do to our spacing / return to center. My doctor was pretty set on waiting till we were completely weaned before trying again, plus we needed more time after the section anyway.

But if BF is going better this time, that may be the thing that determines it ultimately, idk. I think from a vbac pov, the RE would see me again at 6m PP; I'm hoping to nurse at least that long, if not a full year. But since I will most likely not go back to work and we will lose our IF coverage, I may try to get my SHG as late as possible before that happens, either in case I were to need hysteroscopy as well, and/or my RE will let that be good for a year. So say I were to get that in Jan/Feb, it would mean we don't have to repeat that at least, when it comes time to transfer OOP.</div>

@andreamm31 and @ladyp0tter WOOT!!! That's absolutely fantastic for both of you! I don't know much about grading at all, but I personally wouldn't be worried about a BC embryo. UFC considers BB to still be a high grade/quality embryo so if something is BC, that's not too far below it. You both have a good selection of embryos so that's just fantastic.

@JamieH2000 I am hoping and praying you get a great result from your hysteroscopy biopsy so you can transfer soon. Interesting that they found a polyp -- sounds like it was good to get some stuff cleared out and in tip top shape for next transfer.

Whelp, I am 16wk3d today. Had a scan on Wednesday, everything looked good, no signs of preeclampsia either. Nothing more until anatomy scan at 20 weeks, end of October. I hate the OB's U/S equipment, you can't see sh*t on there! They only get you the good equipment when you go to the MFM at 14 weeks, anatomy scan at 20 weeks, and the 32 week U/S. Still dealing with nausea -- intensity isn't as bad, but man I wish it would go the eff away!

However all baby wants to eat lately are Twix. Not so healthy but I swear I could eat a thousand a day! I still mostly just look chubby. My boyfriend doesn't really want to announce just yet, mostly because it means when we do he has to deal with his family and their reaction. I so badly want to announce but I also understand...his family is fairly toxic and it's a lot to deal with.

AFM: Still waiting for the official date of my embryo shipment but they are aiming for 2nd week of October and hope they are able to meet this timeline. I went to the clinic today and my RE has asked me to go on Synarel Spray for the next 2 weeks and come back for blood test. RE said this will ensure endometritis is at bay but not officially ever been told that I have it but do have some mild symptoms of it. Can anyone tell me if they took it and any details of what it will do to my cycle and impact on transfer?

@lucyb1954- so glad things are going good! It honestly took until 20 weeks for most of my nausea to go away

hang in there. I remember 16-20 weeks being hard since I didn’t really feel movement until like 22-24 weeks since I had an anterior placenta.

@lmajin99- remind me did you have endometritis before? I have never heard of this spray and not sure how a blood test would check for endometritis? After dealing with this for 3 months now, I’m pretty sure a uterine biopsy is the way to diagnosis it

could they not do that this cycle while you wait for the embryos to arrive?

@Imajin99 I've never heard of that for endometritis, but I also jumped into a FET without any prior testing (ERA, Receptiva, etc). I was nervous about it but decided to go with it. Maybe the blood test is just looking for signs of infection in regards to white blood/red blood cell counts? I don't know. But my RE does have everyone take a course of antibiotics every six months, so I had to do that before transfer. You have waited so long and I am seriously just so excited it's getting so close for you.

yes, I'm super hoping that the nausea passes soon. I still have bad days and man I would like to get my garden in shape before the snow hits here in Utah! Blarg. It does feel weird not to have anything until 20 weeks. My mom keeps asking me if I can feel anything and besides the nausea, no. No one has mentioned an anterior placenta yet, so I assume I don't have that? This part of it is such a whole new ballgame for me! I hope you get your results soon, all of everything crossed they come in ASAP!

You might have to ask re: anterior placenta. They make note of it during scans but don't necessarily mention it because it's not a problem (whereas if you had placenta previa, they would definitely let you know!). I had one too and didn't know until I was in Labor and Delivery! I started feeling movements around 20-22 weeks; sorta feels like a gas bubble in your belly or a muscle twitch at first. If you want to have fun and have a home doppler, try pressing the sensor into where you think the baby is lying and they might just kick at it or try to move away! That was actually the way I first realized those 'strange' feelings in my belly were baby movements!

@JamieH2000 They did a biopsy a year ago and did not show I had endometerois but last few months I have been feeling a bit more of a painful period with the bit of stabbing pain when using the toilet during TOM. RE said that this will just ensure if there is a mild case of it that it will put it at bay before the transfer. Does that make sense? This is what I found on the internet - Synarel will temporarily reduce the level of oestrogen in the body, thereby temporarily relieving your endometriosis symptoms. Synarel can also be prescribed by a specialist for women as part of IVF. Synarel assists in decreasing the amount of oestrogen produced by the ovaries.
The blood test was just used to check progesterone to make sure I ovulated so they could start this on day 22.

@lmajin99- o the biopsy showed endometriosis, not endometritis? They are very different so I was confused by your previous post. If it’s endometriosis you have, generally it shouldn’t effect an FET much assuming it’s not severe... most REs don’t reco a laprosxppy to remove it anyways (tho I had one in 2016 and they found only mild endometriosis). Glad you are getting soo close to a transfer!

Guys... I’m so lost. Biopsy came back with endometritis again. The nurse said my RE may still want to transfer but we are talking tomorrow. I mean if I still have an infection, don’t we need to clear it? I’m so confused. We have tried 5 antibiotics and all the strongest. I don’t know what’s next. Has anyone ever heard of someone transferring with endometritis and it work? I think science just doesn’t know yet how big of an issue it is. I’m so over hitting every roadblock there could be

@JamieH2000 WOW how frustrating, I really don't know much about the endometritis and transfers, is the RE indicating the risks associated with this during transfer low? I hope you are able to sort this out to move forward.
