I've been inexplicably locked out of commenting on TB the past few days, but I've been reading and thinking about you. All the good vibes and positive thoughts are with you ❤️
Sac ruptured abruptly and completely unfortunately. So Clementine was born by emergency C- section (vertical incision) about an hour ago. For the moment she is alive and intubated in the NICU. I am okay. Good thoughts definitely appreciated.
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
Lots of love and positive thoughts being sent your way ❤️
Me: 29, DH: 29 TTC since: 2/13 Long, anovulatory cycles Began fertility testing 12/13 Ultrasound and bloodwork: Everything looks good (according to my ob/gyn) HSG: waiting to schedule SA: scheduled with RE for 1/6/14
May not be an October mom but I'll stick around with you guys if that's okay.
Clementine is doing as well as can be expected given how early she is. She is 540 grams and intubated, but heart looks good. She needs a blood transfusion for mild anemia but otherwise nothing dramatic as of yet.
My first round of pumping actually surprisingly yielded a few drops of colostrum.
I hurt, a lot. With the emergency and this level of preemie, I got an old school vertical Caesarean. Coughing is my nemesis.
Emotionally I am doing okay. I feel pretty optimistic right now.

@kboydbowman That’s great news, all things considered. I would be sad if you left the group because she came so early, so you’re definitely welcome to stay. Come on Clementine, stay strong! ❤️
@kboydbowman, I’m glad she is doing well and you are as well. Of course you belong here.
As a fellow NICU mom, please make sure to take care of yourself. Stay on top of your pain medicine, eat, shower, and nap if you need it. It can be so hard to take time for yourself when you are worried about your baby and trying to pump but it really is important (says the person who developed an infection on the skin around my incision and didn’t notice for a bit 😬)
If your NICU has any parent support groups, I found that to be helpful as well.

Pumping round two yielded like 4 drops of colostrum. Yay!

Apparently I can attribute this to having my nipples pierced since I was 19 and something about the biomechanics of my weight loss surgery!

Gahhh TB wouldn’t let me log in the past few days but I finally got in. Congratulations, mama. Sending lots of good thoughts for baby Clementine to be a NICU rockstar. ❤️
@kboydbowman That’s great. You’re totally an October mom even if Clementine came a little early. I would say only like half our July group actually had their kiddos in July.
@kboydbowman yes of course you can stay here! Congrats on the colostrum and glad to hear she’s doing well in the NICU! It’s good that you’re feeling optimistic!
Just got back from seeing her for the first time. She is tiny but adorable and moving her little hands and feet. Not going to post a photo yet while she's so tiny, but so far things are looking as good as they can be. I got to gently touch her leg and foot and tell her that mommy loves her. The NICU staff are all sweethearts. Time to pump a bit and then get a few hours of sleep.

@kboydbowman wonderful! Glad to hear your milk is on the way in. How exciting that you got to see and touch her. Take so many pics of her. I look back at my daughters nicu pics and am just amazed and they are my most prized photos of her.
@kboydbowman Thanks for the updates. Please stay with us! So glad for the good report on her heart, and great work with the colostrum! Keep growing little Clementine! Your mama will have amazing stories for you someday!
So glad to see your updates @kboydbowman I'm sending so much love and positivity your way, you are both champions through and through! NICU staff are the best, I hope pumping keeps going well for you and that baby Clementine absolutely thrives and grows by leaps and bounds!
Just wanted you to know I’ve been thinking about you and Clementine and sending you good thoughts. If there is anything we can do, let us know. As a fourth time mom, i love this group and I’m so glad you’re here. I’ll continue sending healing thoughts to you and your daughter. ❤️❤️❤️
@kboydbowman I have been keeping up with your thread, but haven't been able to log in for like two weeks!! I have been thinking so much about you and baby Clementine and am sending all my positivity your way.
I cannot begin to express how much vertical C-sections suck.

I am back at home, in recovery mode. Clementine is still in NICU obviously, but she's doing very well overall. Pumping is progressing - I get more colostrum each time and am delivering it regularly.
