Re: Weekly randoms 6/15

  • Welp, my husband was just informed that a coworker who sits two desks away has a family member who lives with him that tested positive for Covid-19. 😫
  • Loading the player...
  • My son returned to daycare today after being home for 12 weeks and I’m so sad about it!
  • @birdiejo ugh that’s so stressful. I’m sorry. I hope that the coworker doesn’t get it, and then your H doesn’t either. Is the coworker getting tested, just to be sure?
  • @hannahbananas11 Apparently the coworker got tested and it was negative but I think they are going to make him test again. They think he may have come in to the office last week even though he knew he was possibly infected.

Me and the kids aren’t leaving the house so we’re basically self quarantined but my husband is still going in 3 days a week so I’m hoping they shut that down for a few weeks to make sure no one else gets it!

@birdiejo Oh no! That is so stressful. FX everyone stays healthy. Why did that co-worker come in to work knowing he may be infected?  You have to think of others!
  • @birdiejo if the coworker came in knowing that they could be potentially infected and didn’t tell anyone beforehand, they’re an utter asshole. Who knows what the home situations are of the other workers. Some could be vulnerable, or live with a vulnerable person. Man I hate people sometimes. This pandemic has made it really apparent who actually values the lives of the vulnerable in our communities.

Possible TW  At least a major bummer warning.

OB finally called. Apparently although the sack is in the right place, it is measuring 6w6d (I was 5w5d based on LMP when I had the ultrasound last Thursday, but it’s possible I ovulated at least a few days early). At 6w6d they should have been able to see a heartbeat, but based on my LMP it could have still been too early. I will go on Wednesday for more bloodwork to see if hcg is still rising (I had good numbers last Monday). Then hopefully another ultrasound later this week to know one way or another. I am super nauseous but that doesn’t mean much since I was still nauseous even after we found out last time when it was non viable.  Oh, and there’s blood around the pregnancy again.  My H’s theory is that maybe it’s mono-mono twins and that’s why the sack is so big but they can’t see anything yet. And why I’m more nauseous now that with my last two pregnancies, and why my first two blood draws were very good. It’s a nice thought to hold onto for hope but also not super realistic.

ETA ultrasound will be next Monday. Another week of waiting arghhh.

@moguippy Ugh that’s stressful. On a hopeful note, my ob doesn’t do ultrasounds to find a hb before 7 weeks since it’s hit or miss before then. They prefer waiting until 8 weeks since it’s much more easy to spot by that point. FX it’s just a few days too soon to see the heartbeat, and that your appointment on Wednesday is reassuring and it’s all good. Hugs to you!
  • @moguippy aghhh the waiting is terrible I’m sorry! I’m crossing my fingers for you that they measured wrong and/or it was too early to see the hb.
  • @moguippy I’m so sorry you’re going through all this stress! FX for a reassuring appointment next Monday-I know the extra week to wait is painful.

@moguippy I am having the exact same issue. The docs are telling me I'm 1-2 weeks farther along than I am. I know my LMP and I know when I conceived. It's physically impossible. I'm just waiting for the dating ultrasound to prove me right. Hang in there; you know your body best. All is not lost!
  • @moguippy I’m sorry. The waiting is the worst and I’ve been there. Hopefully things are all good and there’s a reassuring ultrasound next week.
  • Thanks ladies.

@hannahbananas11 the first ultrasound is usually between 7-8 weeks but I was having right sided pain. Turns out it there is a 2.3 cm cyst there.

@cmoon3 They did the opposite to me with DS. They told me I was 12 days behind. Which I knew was physically impossible based on when we had sex. I figured I ovulated about a week late (Irregular periods, PCOS, was using OPKs) But 12 days seemed excessive. I think they are just measuring something so small in the beginning that even like half a millimeter makes a huge difference.
  • @moguippy I am praying so hard for you and sending all of the positive vibes your way. I hope this week goes by super fast for you ❤

@moguippy Good luck at your blood draw today. FX you get fast results and it's good news!
  • Hope you get good numbers today @moguippy

I have some work to do that I’m 100% uninterested in doing so I’m just sitting here staring at my phone , as one does. 😝
  • Thinking of you, @moguippy! FX for good numbers.

Today is the last day of digital teaching for me! Hellooooo, summer vacation! 😎
  • TW - possible loss.

I'm stressed out over here. Last week I had some pretty painful cramps, mostly on one side, and intermittent lower back pain/general cramps. No spotting or bleeding, but cramps are a lot more pronounced than I remember them being in my 1st pregnancy. Then, I noticed my Fitbit resting heart rate has dropped sharply since last Tuesday - dropping about 1 BPM per day, 9-10 BPM in total, and is now back to pre-pregnancy HR (mid-50s). With my first pregnancy, my HR went steadily up for the entire pregnancy, more or less, and I think that's how it's supposed to go. Any nausea and symptoms that I had seemed to dissipate, so I freaked out and was convinced I had lost/am going to lose this baby. I called the doctor and they scheduled me for an ultrasound tomorrow morning, when I'll be 6+2.

On the bright side, after I called the doctor yesterday, I got hit with some strong nausea - the strongest I've had this pregnancy. That makes me feel a little bit more hopeful - I didn't expect to have any new/stronger symptoms if something had gone wrong, but who knows. I am hoping for good news tomorrow.

If anyone else experienced something similar to the above, I'd like to hear about it (even if the outcome was bad). I just need to mentally prepare myself for this to go either way at this point.

Having some spotting. Called the doc's office and I'm super stressed out. I keep reminding myself that it could be normal.
  • @cmoon3 if it makes you feel any better, I had spotting for several weeks at this point when pregnant with my son, and all was just fine. It might be nothing. Hopefully the doctor can see you and give you some reassurance. Sending you all the good vibes!
  • @cmoon3 are they having you come in? Hopefully it’s nothing! I had some right after my BFP and they didn’t even have me come in. Thinking of you!
  • @belle1390 I have had some bad cramping as well... i think cramping can be very common in early pregnancy. My symptoms come and go and are pretty generally mild. Hopefully it’s nothing! Let us know what the doc says.
  • @moguippy I hope you get some answers today! Keep us posted as you’re able!

@birdiejo. Waiting for a call back. My guess is they will do bloodwork.

@belle1390 @cmoon3 @moguippy sending all the good sticky baby vibes your way today

@birdiejo I am also procrastinating work right now...so hard to get motivated...

The results from my first blood draw from last Thursday were posted yesterday and the HCG/Progestrone numbers look good! I'm sitting here refreshing the page waiting for the results from my Monday draw to see if they are rising at a rate to show a healthy pregnancy...waiting is the. worst.
  • @moguippy I hope your results are good news today.

@belle1390 cramping has increased in intensity with each pregnancy. So I don’t think that alone can be an indication of something going poorly. I do think that calling the doctor was the right choice and I hope that your appointment is reassuring for you.

@cmoon3 I’m sorry for the extra stress and worry right now! Please keep us updated. Just remember there is a wide range and variety of spotting in early pregnancy that ultimately is nothing. My thoughts are with you today.

@kls123 I hope your numbers come back today and they’ve appropriately doubled!

Side Note: Should we start a spotting/cramping/general support thread for any of us who have problems during first tri or do we want to keep those in randoms?
  • @mdfarmchick I like that idea! And we can preface the whole thread with a TW so that people don’t need to worry about adding TW to every mention of spotting or other potential issues.
  • @hannahbananas11 I can get one started. 😌
  • @cmoon3 I know how stressful it is! Keeping you in my thoughts!

  • Here’s my long and drawn out WTF... it’s mostly amusing.

My dad just found out two weeks ago that he has bone spurs because he finally hit debilitating pain and he’s been forced to rest all day every day since then by his chiropractor while he’s treating him for pain management. My dad has never been in the house and bored so much in his life.

Coincidentally the registration on my Pop Pop’s pickup that I bought from him several years ago and left at my parents’ until last summer is due at the end of this month. I got the email in May and didn’t do anything about it and so they mailed a paper copy of it to my parents. So all last week he hassles me for if he can write a check and take care of the registration and I told him that MH may want to register it with our other vehicles. So I called him Monday and told him to not worry about the registration because MH is going to register it. Thinking that would be the end of it.

Nope. He calls me yesterday to let me know he talked to our friend at the local car dealership and he has the list handy of what you need to do to register it with the state we are registering. And today he asked me if I mailed it yet because the registration is running out at the end of the month. 😳🙄 Well MH is going to be gone for several months this summer so the truth is we aren’t planning on registering it until August because it’s just going to be sitting in the driveway and the registration renews in your birth month (so we would pay for a whole year’s worth of registration for June and July and then have to renew in August anyway.) 🤣

But man. My dad needs to go be busy outside with his own concerns because I am almost 35 and I do not need him to help me nag my husband about basic adulting. I am perfectly capable of nagging him about that all on my own. Also he’s the one driving the truck so he’s the one who has to answer to the police officer if the tags expire 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻‍♀️
  • Anyone interested in some sort of fitness accountability thread? Weekly or monthly? Maybe accountability buddies? I need to keep moving or I might become one with the couch.
  • @birdiejo sure! I’m down. I’m trying to keep closing my rings everyday but this week has been exceptionally hard.
  • @mdfarmchick I’ve been struggling as well. I’m trying to walk every day but I need to get a little more active for sure.
  • I’d be down, @mdfarmchick! I’m just trying to hot my step goals each day, so nothing major happening here. But I’d love the encouragement and camaraderie!
  • @birdiejo, yes please! Would love that! My vote is for a weekly thread; easier to keep track of goals, etc that way.

My random today: I hadn't really thought about having to tell people outside of a close, select few about my pregnancy this early (I'm 5 + 5) , but I went in for my routine 6 month dental check-up/cleaning today. They went to put an x-ray apron on me and I was like "uhhhhh..."

Made my appointment much shorter though, so that was nice!  :D
