Weekly randoms 4/20

Re: Weekly randoms 4/20

  • @older1sttime_mom2b I had an original model explorer. Trunk space was great even with a stroller but we rear faced for 4 years (she’s a peanut) and it got hard lifting her in and out of the seat. We have a Honda Odyssey now (have had it 18m) and it’s been amazing. Lots of comfortable useable space.

@older1sttime_mom2b I have a Toyota Highlander and love it. I got it a few years ago when my previous vehicle ran into some issues and wanted to get something more reliable while also fitting our family as we planned to eventually grow it. It has lots of trunk space if you have the third row folded down. When up there is still space for a stroller but we always keep it down since we dont really need the third row except when we go on trips with extended family joining us. We purchased a Toyota Sienna in the end of February/ early March (just before COVID-19) due to DH car (Jeep Grand Cherokee) not being able to fit him (he is over 6 feet) and a second car seat. We could have waited but we found just what we wanted and then COVID-19 happpend so it worked out perfectly. So far we are liking the minivan, it's very roomy and DS1 (he's 5) loves the dvd player. It was actually DH idea to get the minivan over a larger SUV. He looked at a dodge caravan, Honda odyssey and the Toyota Sienna. It was the Toyota Sienna that had all the features he wanted which is why he went for that model.

@blackgirlmagic I’m glad you brought this up because I’ve been curious about how people have been navigating intimacy and sex throughout Covid-19. My drive has been fine, but my anxiety has created some barriers. My husband still does grocery runs and occasionally pops into his office (all while practicing the necessary precautions), but I still worry about exposure. We’ve tried not kissing - it just isn’t the same. Maybe I’m being overly cautious. I’d love for this to be a time that my husband and I can focus on our intimacy and relationship pre-baby, but this is definitely putting a damper on it. Anyway, to answer your original question, things have been a little slow over here 😂
  • @blackgirlmagic @whl1013 what is this sex life that you speak of
I have had zero sex drive since 10 weeks and I'm 23 now... I cant last like a minute or two and then it hurts to continue... I'm lucky my husband is super understanding right now because I feel so guilty!
  • @older1sttime_mom2b my current lease is up for our explorer and I plan to get a new one just in a different color. If I didn't need the space (for 3 carseats), I would have stuck with an escape which is what we had before the explorer.
  • @older1sttime_mom2b we were planning to get an SUV this summer, but since we are barely driving these days we might wait until fall or winter. We have a small 4-door that works fine with 1 kid, but we want something that will be comfortable for everyone with 2 car seats and maybe a guest or two.
  • @hypermusic congratulations on your BF Journey! I made it 20m with dd not expecting to go that long but it just made sense and worked for us. I truly hope I get to BF this babe.

  • @rivercitynik Not thinking about the postpartum kit yet but definitely feel like time is flying by fast. In the beginning counting the weeks was painful slow but now I can't believe that I almost in my last trimester.
  • I liked reading everyone's comments about vehicles! I was looking at a VW Touareg (my husband is a big VW/Audi guy so he will do all my maintenance if I have a VW). It seems that dealers have limited availability, and I'm just waiting for the right one to come along at this point. I don't want to finance because we're in the middle of a mortgage refi, so I was looking for something I can afford to pay cash for

August definitely doesn't feel far away at all, really it's just a few short months!
  • @wishesshecouldcook my daughter has a kidney issues that make utis dangerous and struggles with constipation. If you need any tips with either I’m here. We are currently changing stuff up for my daughters constipation meds and routines.

  • @sarah0985 thank you! It’s a bit perplexing because she has pretty regular BMs but she’s clearly a little backed up. She pooped 3 times yesterday and I gave her an extra probiotic gummy today and she’s gone 3 times today. Hoping to turn a corner. Still having a lot of urges to pee but not always successful. Trying to keep an eye on things.

  • @laur84ns You are brave to let YH choose your new moisturizer.  Any chance you can order one online?  Sephora is currently having 10% off through 4/27.  I just placed an order.  They are saying it won't arrive until May 15th, but maybe it will sooner?
