This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say. Treat this as an ongoing conversation.

How are things going?: Wonderfully!!! I'm really enjoying NTNP and simply HIO whenever we want to. The "looooove" sessions have been sooooo good lately!! haha Naturally though, after 18 months of trying, your mind still wonders about timing and all of that, so I'm trying my best to keep it all at bay.
Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Oh boy this is a hard one!! DH and I tend to do quick little long weekend getaways, which is sheer perfection! I loved our trip to Napa as well as Charleston!

@kpearse99 I always had a sense of relief during cycles that meant nothing while we waited for appointments and such. Kinda nice not to have a "whatever happens, happens" attitude.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FXXXXXX for FET in 2 weeks
How are things going?: I'm feeling some slight anxiety if this cycle is going to get cancelled. Friday the clinic/hospital called to say they're implementing a no visitor policy, but I'm just waiting to hear they are cancelling things. Perhaps they won't since our number of cases isn't too high (we broke in to the 30s over the weekend). Our specific area has less than half those cases so I'm hoping with everybody distancing and quarantining that the cases don't rise too fast so we can get this FET done.
Any questions?: Anyone have any idea if it would be possible to stop a cycle even though I've started the estradiol valerate? Clearly they wouldn't cancel if I was on the PIO, but I have no idea how screwy things would be just stopping all meds right now.
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Excluding our Iceland honeymoon, my favorite vacation was probably my family's Alaska cruise. DH wasn't along so I keep telling him we need to go on a cruise together to Alaska so he can get the experience. He loves cool 50s weather and misty, which is exactly what we got during our cruise in mid-July. DH just hates the idea of cruises. Trying to convince him they're fun!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Natural FET that will most likely be cancelled, as all non-essential procedures are being cancelled in my state.
How are things going?: Ok, I feel better that at least the decision will be taken out of my hands. I was stressed not knowing whether it would move forward or not, so having some sense of it makes me feel a bit less panicked.

GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? I think my favorite vacation was a spur-of-the-moment trip we booked to Disney. In 2015 they announced that it would be the final year for the Osborne Family Lights at Hollywood Studios, which was always a big deal for my family. We loved going to see them. So MH and I booked a last-second trip to go see them one last time. Literally, we booked on like Wednesday and left the following Monday. It was so much fun, and so emotional.

How are things going?: I'm sorry I've been away, ladies. There has been a lot going on and I just couldn't add one more thing. I've been lurking and lovetiting, but miss being in on the convos. On the bright side, I did get a new job offer! I don't start until May, but just knowing im getting out of my current situation has done wonders for my mental health.
I am feeling the pressure to get this IUI to wor . I lose my insurance coverage when I leave this job, and i highly doubt my new plan will pay for treatment. So we could be nearing the end of the road. I'm trying not to think about it too much.
Any questions?: None right now
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do?
I went with a friend to his home country of Croatia. It was so much fun seeing his home through his eyes, and getting to go to the places he enjoyed. There's just nothing like getting a local's perspective, especially when they're a good friend.
Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained IF and RPL
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): All new IVF cycles are cancelled, so that's not happening for a while. I thought about asking if we could do a medicated cycle, but I am not sure that's an option. It looks like they are cancelling anything that isn't essential. So we're going to just try our own. *shrug* I'm disappointed of course, but dealing with this crisis is the priority. We can wait. My geriatric ovaries better cooperate.
How are things going?: Surprisingly OK. *TW my SIL wants to video chat this afternoon which she never does. I'm afraid she may have an announcement to make and TBH I know I won't handle it well. I don't really have any reason to believe this other than the fact that my nephew is over 1 year old so they may be TFAS. End TW* I am attempting to teach from home, which is a bit overwhelming right now since I've never done this before and so much of elementary school teaching requires face-to-face instruction. I do like that I won't have to put on anything other than yoga pants, though!
Any questions?: Ladies who have done the genetic testing on their embryos, can you tell me what happens at a genetic counseling appointment? Ours has been postponed but I'd like to have an idea about what to expect.
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Our honeymoon in Aruba was fantastic. I am NOT a beach person, but it was so nice to spend the days on the beach or by the pool with a drink.
@inthewoods23 FX your cycle isn't cancelled! This is so crazy!
@mvt2003@emeraldduchess It sounds like both of you feel pretty sure that you're cycles won't happen. I'm so sorry. These are the things people don't realize that this effects!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): FET baseline ultrasound tomorrow
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET, hopefully it doesn’t get cancelled...
How are things going?: I had a scare this morning when I got the “retrieving breakthrough bleed” for the first time... I thought I had a period again and i am not sure what does it mean for my FET cycle
Any questions?: do you get period cramps when the “retrieving breakthrough bleed” occurs?
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Hawaii! Right before we did our February IVF we did a helicopter tour; scuba diving and kayaking
@kpearse99 that’s awesome you are enjoying the “love session”!!
@inthewoods23 same here, slightly worried that my clinic would start to cancel things. Ugh! I haven’t start estradiol pills yet though..
@mvt2003 fx you can still do the natural FET... things are escalating so fast with this virus, whyyyy???
@shoogapoff congrats on the new job! Is it possible for you to join YH’s insurance plan if his plan covers IF treatments?
@emeraldduchess sorry the IVF got delayed! It’s so out of our control I know teachers in my home country have been doing online teaching since the lockdown in late January. Sounds pretty hard for elementary school... I hope everything goes smoothly!
@kpearse99 - I'm glad your guys are enjoying this time NTNPing!!
@inthewoods23 - I hope since we're both mid-cycle they'll continue! I've always wanted to do an Alaskan cruise! DH likes cruises because he can drink all he wants and not worry about needing to drive anywhere lol!
@mvt2003 - I wonder when our clinics are going to make that call? I haven't heard a peep from mine since all this started! I come from a big disney family as well! My sister works there now as a character performer!
@shoogapoff - Congrats on the new job! Like others have asked - does our DH's insurance offer IF coverage? We got to visit Dubrovnik on our cruise and it was my husband's favorite stop! As big Game of Thrones fans we loved it haha
@emeraldduchess - I hope the video call with your SIL is something else, but if it is perhaps you can congratulate her and then say that work is calling you and you really need to take the call (so that you can have your time to yourself to process it). We didn't do any genetic testing, so I can't be of help there. We have had multiple people tell us lately that we've got to go to aruba!
@pom9207 - What's the retrieving bleed? Ohh I've been begging DH for a trip to hawaii! Your trip sounds heavenly!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Endometriosis, Borderline PCOS, Unexplained IF

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IVF - FET
How are things going?: Basically just sitting around waiting for that phone call that my cycle is being cancelled... My acupuncturist is also closing for 2 weeks, so even if my transfer does go forward as planned, I won't get the appointments in with her that I wanted before and after the transfer. My husband has been giving me nightly "fertility massages" aka belly rubs for humans haha
Any questions?: Same question as @inthewoods23. I'm 10 days into estrace and wondering what will happen if my cycle is cancelled?
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Ohh I think it's a tie between the bahamas and the cruise to Italy/Greece we took for our honeymoon. DH and I love laying on the beach and drinking so we both loooved our trip to the bahamas (and we swam with the pigs which was the best day of my entire life - some guy on the excursion said his favorite part of the day was seeing how excited I was with the pigs haha)! Venice, Mykonos and Dubrovnik were amazing, and our top 3 places we visited on our honeymoon!
@feather_heather I actually meant breakthrough bleeding! Just did a google search and apparently there is a term for the bleeding after stopping BCP I invented that retrieving bleed myself...
And your trips sound so wonderful! Swimming with pigs in bahamas is awesome! I have seen some instagram pictures of that; now it's on my wish list
@pom9207@feather_heather MH is about to start a new job as well, so I don't know about his coverage. Its highly unlikely that there's any coverage, though, since our state doesn't mandate it, so I'm preparing myself.
All of the concern over cancelling cycles makes me so sad! Not to add to the fears, but my clinic just called me and said they're not doing any new IUIs right now either. So I'm out this month. FX that's not the case for others!!
@kpearse99 so glad you are enjoying yourself and the connection has been great.
@inthewoods23 i do not think that your cycle will get cancelled. the hospital where I work had implemented no visitors early last week, but all procedures and what not are going as planned. unfortunately when it comes to transfer day for you though YH may have to wait out in the waiting room.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): medicated IUI #2
How are things going?: Hello all, sorry I was MIA second half of last week. things got so busy for me with the quarter for school coming to a close. However I passed my finals, and I am down to my final quarter of nursing school! YAYYY!! Things are okay, as suspected AF arrived last Wednesday. I went Friday for baseline blood work and u/s. Got the okay to begin meds for IUI cycle 2. As for everything else, I am just hanging at home, I conveniently took vacation from work this week to coincide with my spring break, and I am off until next Wednesday, so I am just hanging out, trying to keep busy. Most things here are closed, malls, restaurants, stores have decreased their hours, and school has extended spring break to April 6th, which sucks, because now we do not graduate until mid-late june instead of May, so that frustrating. so just staying occupied binge watching shows.
Any questions?: not right now
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? for our honey moon we did a Bahamian cruise, it was so fun! we did some snorkeling, beach going, shopping. I would love to go back!

@kpearse99 yess girl I love it. I'm so glad your break has been good in the luuurve department, it's so important to keep that spark alive through all of this. @inthewoods23 I saw your update about the clinic advising against moving ahead. I'm so sorry friend. I will admit, if we weren't so far along in our cycle I probably would've backed off for a little while too because the stress of the foreseeable future, along with the uncertainty about how this might affect pregnant women, is definitely top of mind. I would think there are ways to wind down your meds in a safe way. Even if you had started PIO I expect your body would react much the same way it would if implantation wasn't successful. I hope you and YH are able to make the best decision for your situation. @mvt2003 I'm so sorry your cycle is likely going to be cancelled. I'm glad you're feeling less panicky about it now, but it still stinks nonetheless. Just another way us IFers feel left behind because we need help getting pregnant, which is then deemed "non-essential". You're so strong, this is just a minor setback but your time will come!! @shoogapoff We've missed you! Have been thinking about you and wondering how you're doing. That's wonderful news about the new job, congratulations. Sorry to hear your new insurance coverage may change things, but hopefully everything will work out for the better. @emeraldduchess sending you hugs. It's so unfair that you finally got approval to go ahead and now this. We did PGT but weren't given the option to meet with a genetic counsellor. Hoping North America takes all the necessary steps to fight this and flatten the curve now so the impact is less severe. Good luck with teaching, that sounds really intense having to figure out how to switch to e-learning with basically no warning. Putting this in a spoiler because it's not really pertinent to the rest of the convo:
The teachers here in Ontario have been on strike and one of the sticking points is that the gov't wants to push for more e-learning and reduce the # of teachers, so there have been so many messages going around on FB telling teachers to make sure they do a shitty job posting lessons online so that the powers that be don't get the wrong idea that maybe e-learning could actually be effective. Seems so counterintuitive, and really isn't what we need right now.
@pom9207 was it breakthrough bleeding or a withdrawal bleed? Either way, all my bleeding during IVF cycles felt like a real period, which is what led to more panic. My RE said that was normal. @feather_heather ohh friend, keeping everything crossed for you that you'll be able to proceed with your transfer. lol to the belly rubs, haha. MH would be all over that. He's only used to getting massages at physio so until recently he had never had a massage that was just meant for relaxation instead of deep tissue so I never used to let him give me massages because it was torture. But he's slowly learning. That cruise sounds amazing, I'd love to do a mediterranean cruise someday. @abarr723 yay congrats on passing your finals!! That's exciting! FX for IUI #2! @keikilove sending you so so much love across the ocean my friend. I'm so sorry for the awful communication with your clinic and subsequent delay due to the PGT piece. You are absolutely right to advocate for yourself knowing you want the PGT done, and I'm so sorry that has resulted in a significant delay. It may be worth it though, for the peace of mind that PGT might bring you. @nitnat007 thinking about you today transfer buddy!!
Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, MFI
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Officially TWW today!
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET #1 was this morning
How are things going?: Really good! Home and resting for the rest of the week. So grateful to have been able to go ahead with our transfer. My RE was not available so we had the on-call Dr and she was wonderful. Gentle, thorough, explained every step as she went and was so reassuring. Where my Dr is goofy and keeps things light, today's experience was honestly everything I needed and it was just a really positive experience all around. The clinic was in tight lockdown, with screening at the door and appts extra spaced out. I came close to peeing my pants because my bladder was overfull by the time we got in there, but they weren't jerks about me letting a little bit out. We transferred a perfect, PGT normal embryo that was a 5AA when it was frozen and was graded a 6AA at the time of transfer because it was already hatching out of its shell. I'm disappointed we didn't get to see a picture of the embryo like some clinics do, but the US technician showed us a recording of the embryo being placed and I sobbed like a baby the whole time. We did get to keep the petri dish that it was stored in (lol).
Any questions?: Thoughts on testing? My beta won't be for another 2 weeks (I should find out exact date tomorrow) and I know all the clinics advise against HPT... I typically don't test at home but probably will at some point. How long should I try to hold out if at all possible?
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Am so fortunate to have had lots of opportunities to travel in my lifetime. Our Hawaiian honeymoon probably takes the cake just because it was so special to be able to share that with MH. We really went all out too, as we're usually hardcore budget travellers but we splurged on that trip and it was so, so worth it. My solo backpacking trip through London and the south of France was also incredible.

@feather_heather my SIL just wanted to check in since we're located in the middle of the chaos on the East Coast. Her state hasn't gotten as crazy (yet). I think at this point in ttc I am paranoid about more announcements within the family. The last two holiday seasons were so hard emotionally, I don't know if I can face them again next year. How awful is it that I am already worried about that? I am crossing everything that your transfer goes ahead.
@abarr723 I am so sorry IUI #1 wasn't successful. Hugs! remote teaching for elementary has been...interesting so far. TBH I am still trying to figure it out. I spent most of the day emailing back and forth with parents, looking for websites to support the curriculum, and making accounts for all my students so they can access our textbooks online. All while finalizing term 2 report cards.
@shoogapoff I'm so sorry your IUI was cancelled. A week ago I definitely didn't realize how much this pandemic was going to impact those of us going through IF!
@kiki047 I'm so glad you had a good experience with your transfer! Crossing everything for you, friend!! That's crazy that people are being told to do a crappy job of posting work. I think e-learning can be beneficial, but students certainly need face-to-face instruction and small class sizes. I often wonder if my work will one day be obsolete. On the other hand, I think the US is going to face a major teacher shortage in the next few years.
@kiki047 yay so glad things went so well this morning! I'm feeling on the fence about my whole situation. I can work from home indefinitely if I need to and I've already been in quarantine for a week at this point. Plus from what I've read it doesn't appear to transmit into the womb like other viruses do. It's a tough call. We'll see at my appointment Wednesday.

@kpearse99 Love this! We actually really connected last night...I had just done our taxes @inthewoods23 I saw your update about the clinic advising against moving ahead. I'm so sorry. I've been having doubts too if this even makes sense to keep trying. So far, we're all in still. @mvt2003 Oh no! Oh, friend.... @shoogapoff Welcome back!!!! Congrats on the new job. I hate insurance. Ugh. @emeraldduchess This is all crazy and not fair. @pom9207 to your last update - Oh NOOOO! @feather_heather A Mediterranean cruise is on my bucket list for sure. @abarr723 I heard from a friend who is a nurse that they are paying like $5k a WEEK for traveling nurses. I think you are in the right field at the right time for sure!!! @nitnat007 Hope everything went smoothly for you today!!! @kiki047 Ahhhh so excited for you. I lack all patience, I am POAS from like ... 5dpo. Don't be like me. I'd test before going in like ... that day. If I could hold out.
@kiki047 I think it depends a bit on your protocol and whether or not you had an HCG trigger. If not, I think about 5dp5dt is about the earliest, but 6dp5dt would be better. By 8dp5dt you should have a clear answer. Unfortunately, I don't recommend using cheapies super early - mostly they are just not sensitive enough to show anything more than the squintiest of quinters. You'll only drive yourself crazy. FRER may give you better lines at that time, but even then they may be super faint, at best.
Conversely, if you have had an HCG trigger, I would avoid taking any FRER and even just wait to take a digi on or after 8dp5dt. Otherwise the FRER can pick up the last traces of trigger and also drive you crazy when really it's too soon to test, bc there's no way to know if what you're seeing is trigger or baby until more time passes anyway. 🤷 Not sure if that helps a little, I hope!??? GL!!! ❤️
@emeraldduchess that’s such a relief about your SIL. Nice of her to check in. It sucks that we have such PTSD about those kinds of things though, eh? Just like the dreaded words “we need to talk...” carry such negative connotations.
@inthewoods23 I’d be in the same boat as you, in that I could WFH if I really need to but MH still needs to go to work because he’s senior mgmt in a Seniors home and they’re all hands on deck right now @pom9207 thank you! We opted to mask gender results with PGT, so as much as I will eventually want to know, we didn’t want the added stress of knowing at the time of transfer. As for the letrozole, I was allowed to take it without monitoring but given that things are in lockdown, if something were to go wrong and you needed help, that’s playing with fire... I’m so sorry your cycle was cancelled and I completely understand your frustration, but I would strongly advise against taking matters into your own hands. I especially don’t think it’s advisable mid-IVF cycle to go rogue and start messing with fertility meds.
@the_road_to_oz ohhh I’m with you on needing the markets to chill out. Holy cannoli. I’m so sorry things are just so insanely stressful for you right now. You are not alone in this!!
@businesswife thank you friend!! I did not trigger, so there’s no worry of any residual HCG in my system. I’ll stay away from the cheapies but I may use my one lucky CB digital that I’ve been saving for a year just for this day. My thought is that I’ll wait as long as we can stand it to test. MH is a lot less patient than I am, so when he says it’s ok then we’ll see.
TTC History:

Apr '19: Letrozole + TI, - BFN. Repeat SA (27mil) & DNA fragmentation test (17%)
@kiki047 thank you friend! I agree with you that taking fertility drug without monitoring is not a smart move. Safety first! As frustrated as I am, I will try thinking positively — at least we are allowed to try on our own for this month!
@the_road_to_oz so sorry work is stressful. I don’t work in finance or have a lot of money in the stock market. But still!

@kpearse99 Thanks friend! Jealous of all your good loving lol. Glad that you have been able to re-spark the passion and are enjoying this time.
@inthewoods23 I have everything crossed for you right now and hope that everything just stays on track! Our clinic is continuing anyone with anyone who has already started their cycle, just not starting anyone new. FX that yours follows the same.
@shoogapoff I am so sorry that you are feeling the pressure right now. Things are so stressful already. I hope you are able to take some time for yourself and clear your head. *hugs*
@emeraldduchess I truly hope that the video chat with your SIL was just a catchup and nothing upsetting. Those face to face announcements never go over well in our world.
@pom9207 Well crap! I am so, so sorry that has happened. I know there are no words...... *hugs*
@feather_heather Oh man. I really hope that your cycle is not cancelled. Even having your 'plan' changed is upsetting. You got this though and YH is being so sweet. Love that! Always wanted to swim with the pigs. Jealous!
@abarr723 Huge congrats! I hope you get to celebrate somehow.
@kiki047 My transfer buddy! What a beautiful embryo you transferred! Wow! So glad that it all went smoothly and that you had an amazing experience. Could not have been more perfect. Congrats on being PUPO and rooting for that little embaby to stick!
@the_road_to_oz I think we all need this whole virus situation to take a pill. Sorry that it is affecting you to this extreme. FX that it calms down for you soon.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): FET
How are things going?: Good! We had a great transfer yesterday. Everything went smoothly, except for my little pee-pee dance that I was doing in the waiting room lol. Like @kiki047 I had to relieve myself, twice! I was clearly over zealous with my fluid consumption and was so uncomfortable sitting around. I had to stand and the front desk ladies were busting a gut at me. Even after the little breaks I still had a very full bladder and the images were very clear. We also had our actual RE do the transfer, which is a first for us and was nice. I made MH watch funny movies when we got home to get the endorphins flowing. This morning got up and walked the pups and we are all working from home until further notice. So nice and easy for a while. Keeping it positive!
Any questions?:
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? We did a great ski trip a couple years ago. IT was more about the family memories that we created vs the place. We had such a wonderful time and would do it again in a heartbeat.
@inthewoods23 I have heard so many great things about a cruise to Alaska, so that's on my bucket list! I am so so hopeful that your FET won't be cancelled!
@mvt2003 I loved the Osborne Family Lights!!! Impromptu trips are always the best! Any updates on this cycle yet?
@shoogapoff Yes! Congrats on the new job!! So exciting I would love to go to Croatia! The owner for the dance studio I teach at (also my good friend) her husband is from there and they just had a house built! So we are hoping to tag along for a vacay one of these upcoming summers!
@emeraldduchess ugh I'm so sorry about that news from your RE's office. Maybe it would be a good time fo ryou guys to NTNP this next cycle or two? Give your minds and hearts and bodies a break?
@pom9207 I really want to go to Hawaii!!! DH has been there but not me waaah! I am so sorry about the cancelled FET This whole thing sucks so much!! If your RE said they wouldn't give you meds without you being monitored then I would NOT take the meds.
@feather_heather I love that YH is giving your those little massages! How sweet and cute! haha Any update on your FET?!
@kiki047 So glad the FET went well and that the on call doctor was wonderful. It's so great that it all worked out and ended up being exactly the kind of doctor and experience you needed it to be. That's fate, right there! I seriously have EVERYTHING crossed that this is the one!!! Oh please oh please!!! December, here you come!
@the_road_to_oz soooo are you saying that you completing your taxes got you guys all hot and heavy?! hahaha
@nitnat007 Oh, so happy the FET was smooth for you too! I love, so much, that you and @kiki047 have the same FET date!!! December, here you come!!! FX FX FX

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): IUI#1 (if it doesn’t get cancelled) with Letrozole (5mg), trigger shot, and Progesterone
How are things going?: Doing pretty well all things considered. Last cycle was a bust unfortunately, so we are moving forward with IUI! I called my clinic yesterday and they are proceeding as usual for now, so I scheduled my monitoring appointment for next Thursday! I just started WFH, so that makes me feel better about my exposure risk...but it’s all still a little scary with the unknown! With so many cycles getting cancelled already, I’m wondering if we are silly to think it might still happen for us! 🤷🏼♀️
Any questions?: None right now. I’m trying not to think about the trigger shot at this point...just hoping that we get that far and things don’t get cancelled!
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? I’d say Maui for our delayed honeymoon...it was amazing!! We went on a guided hiking tour and it was by far our favorite day there!! Mostly we yay relaxed and enjoyed the beach, which truly is breathtaking! We have pictures & memories from there that we will have with us for a lifetime!
@kpearse99 woohoo for good “love sessions”!! 🥰 Glad the more relaxed cycle is paying off!! I’m sure I’d be thinking about timing too, but good job for trying not to focus on that!
@inthwoods23 I’m so hoping your FET doesn’t get cancelled and you have less anxiety about everything after your appointment tomorrow. DH is also against cruises, so I’m not sure that we will ever take one...an Alaskan one sounds like fun though!
@mvt2003 that stinks that your cycle will most likely be cancelled...I’m glad you are feeling ok since the decision is out of your hands! Hope you get news soon one way or another! @shoogapoff yay for a new job, that is very exciting!! I’m so sorry your IUI got cancelled and that you feel the added pressure due to insurance changes! I hope you can get in another IUI before your insurance changes and that it’s the one!!!
@emeraldduchess I’m so sorry IVF has been delayed for you! I hope trying on your own is a success before then! It stinks to have a delay like this that is completely out of your control!
@pom9207 I’m so sorry your FET was cancelled!! 😕 I hope this is all over soon and you can get it rescheduled!! I have always taken Letrozole unmonitored (until this cycle)...but I would say if your doctor won’t prescribe it for you without monitoring, I wouldn’t take it! @feather_heather I’m sorry you are just waiting to hear about your cycle...I so hope it doesn’t get cancelled!
@abarr723 I’m sorry IUI#1 didn’t work out, but I hope IUI#2 first of all isn’t cancelled, and that it is a success!!
@kiki047 so happy your transfer went well and it went exactly how you needed it to go!! Everything possible crossed for you, friend!! @the_road_to_oz I’m sorry work is so stressful right now! I’m sure dealing with the markets is crazy right now! I’m hoping with everything in me that this is your cycle! Part of me wonders if we are crazy for still wanting to try right now...but it’s been so long already, I don’t want to waste a cycle!
@nitnat007 so glad you had a great transfer, and it sounds like you had a perfect rest of your day!! Everything crossed that this is it for you, my friend!!!
I will be back for tags later but i found out that the ASRM (American society for reproductive medicine) has just updated guidelines regarding Treatment cycles and covid and I thought you all might like to see it.
TL;DR it sounds like they’re recommending not starting any new cycles and being cautious about cycles already in progress
ETA: I’m realizing this could also be construed as dropping a load of bad news on this thread... I thought you might all want to know but I can move it to the pandemic thread if everyone would prefer

@mvt2003 I love spur of the moment fun! We sorta did that on our aquarium trip. Originally it was just to visit the Chattanooga Aquarium, but DH was like "you know... the Georgia Aquarium isn't that far of a drive beyond Chattanooga..." and so we went and it was amazing there!
@shoogapoff congrats on the new job! So glad that will help your mental health. I felt the same when I finally left my first job out of college.
@emeraldduchess maybe your ovaries will stop with the shenanigans!
@feather_heather FX! Have you heard anything about your cycle being cancelled? DH and I have basically decided to move forward since I'm already WFH and will be into April at least (or I at least plan to). I have the choice which is nice. Assuming shit REALLY doesn't hit the fan in the coming days.
@pom9207 nooo that sucks that you can't do your FET! Hopefully you can back to it soon!
Well... I originally told them yes we'll continue, and then DH was like "you didn't give me any time to answer" after I had asked "is that okay with you?". A a heart to heart again and decided we'd cancel the cycle. They don't know when they'll start things up again. Currently they're looking to cancel everything through April, they aren't cancelling in May. So you figure the first chance wouldn't be until June or July anyway which puts the EDD right in the middle of our robotics season/competition so we're better off waiting a few months anyway. We've actually decided to see if the diet is the key and try naturally for a few cycles before going for the FET cycle. And DH is basically done with the idea of having kids, he's just doing all this stuff because I want to. So it's been tough having these conversations, but I think I'm at peace with what we're going to do.

So many thank yous @manillabar because of you, I was prepared for the following conversation when my monitoring results came in just now.
My nurse offered to schedule me for another monitoring appointment on Thursday, but when I asked her about the ASRM report, she told me that as of right now they're proceeding with business as usual under the new guidelines, however all of the doctors are in a high level meeting right now to discuss these recommendations and make the new clinic policy. She anticipates we'll be told to stop the cycle since I'm not currently on any medication. I chose not to schedule at this time, and she will call me tomorrow to update me on the new clinic policy.
I cried for a bit, it was a bitter moment to realize it's really not happening. MH really does not want to risk one of our embryos, and I understand where he's coming from. Happily, he has agreed to try naturally this cycle so emotionally I won't feel like I've missed out. ( @bows22 no worries there, your vote must have influenced him )
I don't know when we'll be allowed to try for a FET again, I assume closer to the summer. I'm pouring myself a VERY large adult beverage tonight to drown my sorrows.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): No response from RE, so no clue. I emailed, texted, nada.
How are things going?: Frustrated with the no response, and all the jokes about lots of Dec babies from the covid-19 situation. Wish it was as easy as just having some alone time with H.
Any questions?: Why are REs so flaky?
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Dahab, Red Sea. Scuba, ate food, chilled. It was in our dating days and we had a good time.
@ramzlau hopefully you hear soon in these really uncertain times!
Can I just say this is my favorite group of people in the world behind DH? Cuz you ladies are amazing, so supportive, and just all around cool peeps. And warriors!!
I'm just waiting for the day I can post the Gordon Ramsay pic about good fucking news 😆 once we get through this mess!

So I posted my update, and then went back to read the thread.
To everyone that has had their IUI or IVF cancelled, my heart goes out to you. It is so hard. Thank you for being real, and sharing your stories and emotions. It helps to not be alone.
@nitnat007 and @kiki047 Thank you for being a positive story in all this gloom!
@kpearse99 I wish I had your attitude. Will work on it
Hey all, I feel like this is the only place I go. I have had fertility problems while we were TTC many years ago with a friend, but I’m also a lesbian and now don’t (currently) have access to sperm on a regular basis. We are using donor sperm.
Diagnosis (if you've been): weak ovulation, short LP
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): femara, IUI w/donor sperm, trigger, PG
How are things going?: feeling pretty optimistic right now
Any questions?: anyone else use donor sperm and have the donor run out? Am just a little panicked about it right now as I have the last two IUI vials EVER
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do? Relaxing down in Florida near Tampa for a month. We stayed in my family’s “complex” in one of the apartments. DW and I walked on the beach and bought ice cream every day. When the neighbors’ mangos ripened on the tree and started dropping, we stole them and they were amazing. Would love to do this again sometime!
Same as @ramzlau, I went back to read over the thread after posting. I hadn’t even considered that COVID would interfere so much with treatment cycles. Sending so much hope and love to everyone who has put treatments on hold for this virus.
Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o 3/16
Diagnosis (if you've been): Secondary Unexplained IF
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): NTNP

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained, low morph
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle?

Any questions?: Nope
GTKY: What is the best vacation you've ever taken? Where did you go and what did you do?

@mvt2003 @emeraldduchess It sounds like both of you feel pretty sure that you're cycles won't happen.
It’s so out of our control
I know teachers in my home country have been doing online teaching since the lockdown in late January. Sounds pretty hard for elementary school... I hope everything goes smoothly!
@kiki047 @nitnat007 hope the FET went well! Thinking of you two

And your trips sound so wonderful! Swimming with pigs in bahamas is awesome! I have seen some instagram pictures of that; now it's on my wish list

All of the concern over cancelling cycles makes me so sad! Not to add to the fears, but my clinic just called me and said they're not doing any new IUIs right now either. So I'm out this month. FX that's not the case for others!!
@inthewoods23 i do not think that your cycle will get cancelled. the hospital where I work had implemented no visitors early last week, but all procedures and what not are going as planned. unfortunately when it comes to transfer day for you though YH may have to wait out in the waiting room.
@mvt2003 fingers crossed for you
@shoogapoff congrats on the new job, maybe you should contact HR at your new employer and ask about fertility coverage!!

The nurse said I have the choice of keep taking BCP or wait until my next period
I am still in disbelief...

GL!!! ❤️
@pom9207 thank you!

Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, MFI (low morph, acrosome defect)
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW - FET
@abarr723 Yay for passing your finals!! WooHoo!!

@shoogapoff yay for a new job, that is very exciting!! I’m so sorry your IUI got cancelled and that you feel the added pressure due to insurance changes! I hope you can get in another IUI before your insurance changes and that it’s the one!!!
@feather_heather I’m sorry you are just waiting to hear about your cycle...I so hope it doesn’t get cancelled!
@the_road_to_oz I’m sorry work is so stressful right now! I’m sure dealing with the markets is crazy right now! I’m hoping with everything in me that this is your cycle! Part of me wonders if we are crazy for still wanting to try right now...but it’s been so long already, I don’t want to waste a cycle!
https://www.asrm.org/news-and-publications/patient-management-and-clinical-recommendations-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-pandemic/
TL;DR it sounds like they’re recommending not starting any new cycles and being cautious about cycles already in progress
ETA: I’m realizing this could also be construed as dropping a load of bad news on this thread... I thought you might all want to know but I can move it to the pandemic thread if everyone would prefer

@pom9207 - Sorry to hear your FET was cancelled
@kpearse99 - No news at all from my clinic yet! I'm tempted to call and ask, but I'm sure they're being inundated with calls right now.
@abarr723 woohoo for passing finals! Big relief!
@the_road_to_oz yes everything needs to freezer for the next infinity days please!
@nitnat007 so glad for a smooth transfer!!

I'm just waiting for the day I can post the Gordon Ramsay pic about good fucking news 😆 once we get through this mess!

To everyone that has had their IUI or IVF cancelled, my heart goes out to you. It is so hard. Thank you for being real, and sharing your stories and emotions. It helps to not be alone.
