Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out - next week!
Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Bell pepper
Upcoming appointments: AS next Monday
How are you feeling? Still so darn tired. Last week I had some weird abdominal pains in the evening that prompted me to call the on-call OB. It was kind of a sharp ache around my belly, on each side and down low, and some deep (cervical?) pain. I laid down and it lightened up, and it eventually went away. The on-call said she thought it sounded like RLP, and my OB agreed when I saw her two days later. It felt different than I've had before, but my OB said it can feel like a sharp pain (which I've had) or more like an ache, which this was. I also have an umbilical hernia, which was acting up. It hasn't really been a big deal since then, although it took a day and half to completely stop.
Raves/Rants: So tired of being tired. But DD2 is finally starting to sleep through the night more regularly, which is a big rave! MH also had the day off yesterday and cleaned the entire house, which was fantastic.
GTKY- What's your favorite movie genre? AND, bonus question, what's the last movie you saw? Hmmm, I don't know. I watch a lot more shows than movies. We VERY rarely go to the movie theater - like, once a year or less. Either way, I lean mostly towards comedy or sci fi/fantasy, some drama. I think the last movie I watched was To All the Boys I Loved Before.
@JessDG - “I just feel like everything I do is just mediocre.” - I so very much feel like I’m in this stage of LIFE right now. Part of it is due to being tired ALL THE TIME, part of it is hormones (also related to the being tired), part of it is just that I don’t have enough personal resources or time or (insert anything here) right now to do very good at much. I’m lucky to live where we have pretty moderate weather, so although we do end up staying inside much more during winter, spring is already arriving. I’m looking forward to carving out some time to be outside in the yard and garden. Even something like weeding at least makes me feel productive!
Also, I’m curious about what a big brother/big sister class is? I’m pretty sure we don’t have them since I’ve never heard about it!
@kc0711 - DD2 is just about 18 months and we are SO CLOSE to sleeping through the night finally. It’s about 50/50 right now, with maybe 1 early morning wakeup (when I can still get her back to sleep). Congrats! Also, I feel like I am just now starting to connect more with this baby. I think for me it’s partly because the pregnancy was a surprise, and also because my 2nd and 3rd will be so close together. I had 4 years between the first two, so although the 2nd time felt different than the 1st, this one feels even more different than either of those.
@stlbuckeye132 - Totally the same about the “love lightning bolt.” I felt… I don’t know, motherly instinct maybe? But not the euphoric adoration that some people talk about. It was something special in its own way, but nothing like what I’d heard. Everyone’s experience is a little different, I think, and it’s all totally OK.
@mrs_sheddy - We’ll have our 2 older girls sharing a room, but not immediately. Sometime after DD2 turns 2, she’ll move into her sister’s room, who will be 6 by then. I think there will be some resistance (mostly to keeping her off-limits stuff put away instead of lying around) but I don’t expect much real trouble. FX that the sleeping stuff works out fine and no one keeps anyone else awake.
@nursejenn5 - My shower last time was pretty late, I think I was 37 weeks. It was just when my family/friends planned it for. I think around 2 months before your due date is usually a pretty good time for it. I feel like that’s when mine were with DD1. Some people will start planning way ahead of time, some won’t start until it’s closer. Hard to say on that part.
@kittenslove - I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure you’ll have mixed feelings as you grieve, and I hope you remember that’s totally OK. Obviously I don’t know how you’re feeling, but I know this has already been a very stressful time for you.
@amygray725 - Have you tried one of the gel type sprays? I think the one we’ve used before is Ayr. I also do saline rinses regularly; it helps with the congestion.

@amygray725 before bed rub some Vaseline on the inside of your nose. I used to have to do this for allergies before. I started using Flonase. It worked pretty well (for the dry and bleeding part) do you have allergies? It could be making things worse and you could try some allergy meds (Flonase is my go to. But Claritin may help too) but it’s due to the increase in blood flow. Yay pregnancy.
@treeofcheem yay for almost STTN! Sleep is everything! Also, perfect timing as you get more and more pregnant and need the sleep but it’s harder to come by
@kittenslove i am so sorry about your mom, but i know it must be a relief to know she is out of pain. ill keep you in my prayers.
@mehugg@meanjellybean@blaf322 true crime lover here too!! have you guys heard of the podcast "Cold"? it is really good. it is about a cold case here in Utah that is absolutely insane. y'all should definitely listen to it!

@knockupthestock YES! I listened to it. It was soooo long lol but the fact that they had so many first person accounts (like from her emails and his journals, etc) made it SO interesting. Also very very sad.
@meanjellybean i know, it is so crazy. the first person accounts were really interesting! it seems so obvious that he did it, so its nuts to think they never got him. i feel so bad for Susan and those poor boys.
