  • @pocketrose they probably won’t change it. I had a similar issue with DS and they kept the later date, we were given so many different due dates we just kept the original one.
  • @pocketrose that sounds like a super fun weekend! Question 1: So, regarding your anatomy scan, from what I understand, the further along you are, the less accurate they are for dating purposes. Unless your doctor actually tells you that you have a new due date, the first one should still be accurate. Especially because it wasnt a week or more off. Question 2: I would not worry at ALL about lying on your back. You will get uncomfortable and change positions before any amount of time on your back will cause problems for you or baby.

@footdrbritt I thought about you this weekend- I hope tomorrow's appointment will ease some of your anxiety, I'm sure you are beyond overwhelmed at this point. I'm with you- is it July yet?

  • @pocketrose +1 for not worrying about laying on your back. My friend used to wake up on hers all the time... but, like, aggressively woke. Like, her body was telling her something wasn't right. I'm sure yours will do the same. From what I understand, the concern is for mama. The added weight in your ute puts pressure on some blood vessels, I think? My point in saying that is that you'll know something is up... vs if you were cutting off something to baby and just didn't even know.
  • @modoodles I'm with you... MH made me start watching Super Troopers, and I think I lasted 15 minutes before I told him I couldn't do it. So glad your AS went well!

@pocketrose did your OB say they wanted to switch to the 6th? Generally they still with the earliest scan date since it's most accurate, but I know you switched providers so maybe they're going off their first scan? I would definitely push for keeping the original date though if it's more in line with your ovulation date. Re: lying on your back, I think it's fine as long as you don't start feeling light headed. That's what my OB's recommendation has been anyway. I still do it for some exercises and frequently wake up on my back too. *shrug*

@footdrbritt I hope your appt tomorrow goes well. I hope your decision to stay in the military works out for the best. I know you were looking forward to being out, but hopefully the perks will outweigh the disadvantages. I'm sure that was a tough decision, and I hope you have a little bit of peace after having decided which way to go.

@blaf322 I need to know your thoughts on the Saw series. My sister and I had a guilty pleasure in watching them, but most people look at me like I'm a psychopath when I tell them that. lol

@JessDG sorry about your lack of feedback at work. That sounds really frustrating. Re: the big sibling class, I'm only a STM, but I plan on taking DD to the one my hospital offers. Idk if it'll help or still be too abstract for her to understand at 2, but I figure it can't hurt and ours is only $12 so whatever.
  • @kc0711 yup on the not connecting to the pregnancy. Not sure if it’s because it’s not new or not but I totally understand the feeling
  • @pocketrose #1 I’m with everyone else that due dates don’t really change at this point. It might just be a bigger baby, so “measuring ahead”. Growth is a curve, has to be someone at the top and the bottom. #2 it can put pressure on your vascular systems to lay on your back, but I think you would get uncomfortable long before you did any damage. You are supposed to just have a slight tilt when laying on your back, nothing major.
@footdrbritt that is such a hard decision, but I’m glad you are feeling good about yours! I’m sure your patients are thrilled that you have decided to stay in. FWIW we were stationed in Hawaii for an extended tour and I absolutely LOVED it.
@modoodles I have thought about trying to wean off the unisom as well, but I am terrified. I hope it goes well for you!

  • @kc0711 we are hoping for Hawaii but the new restructuring of army medicine may kick dependents off of base so not sure how they’re going to move me. The other issue is all the issues this new kiddo has means we can only go to big bases/tertiary care, which is great because it limits where we’ll go even more. I talked to HR today so hopefully we can hammer out details ASAP
  • @kc0711 yes to not connecting to this pregnancy as much. This is going to sound HORRIBLE... but I feel like I just don't care as much. I do. I care about this baby tremendously. I just don't have the same connection I feel like I had already made with DD at this point. I think it's just because life is busy now. So much busier than before. Also, like, how do you love another kid as much as you love your first?! From talking to other STM+ I know it happens. And you do love them just as much.... but it's just hard to fathom right now. If that makes any sense.

@stlbuckeye132 I watched them all and, while it's not my favorite type of horror, I do love them. I will say, as I got older and new versions came out, I got more and more squirmy when watching them... which I also love lol.
  • going to try and reply to everyone.. :)

@modoodles let me know how you feel without your Unisom... I've been taking diclegis for quite a while and I'm terrified to come off.

@pocketrose I'd say that laying on your back, as long as your comfortable, is fine (per Emily Oster). I still do when I'm lounging in bed or scrolling through Instagram.. but if I start to feel uncomfortable I just put more pillows under me to prop me up a bit.

@footdrbritt I'm ready, but mainly just ready for the nice summer weather :P a little scared to give birth haha..

@blaf322 have you seen Thankskilling on Netflix? It's a terrible horror movie and it makes me die laughing every time. SOOO cheesy!

@JessDG I'm also in a wintertime funk, ready for warm weather and to not be a hermit anymore!

@stlbuckeye132 yay for finding out this afternoon! excited to hear what you'll be having :)

@kc0711 congrats on the sale of your current house! i'd love to build a house one day.. sounds so exciting!!!
  • @blaf322 nope that pretty much sums it up! I know I will love him just as much as DD when he gets here, but that’s when he gets here. At this point in DD’s pregnancy, I was just so in love with her and focused on her, and that has only continued since she came to the outside world. She’s also very much on a mama kick these days and wants to give me hugs, kisses, and snuggles constantly, which just melts my heart. I’m trying to be more mindful and spend some time in the evenings talking to him and trying to connect once she goes to sleep. I know it’ll be fine, but I do feel kind of guilty.
  • Thanks all re:all of the things! @stlbuckeye132 That's the main reason I'm concerned, my first ultrasound was with one practice and the second with another. Second was done at the hospital and my OB hasn't seen it yet presumably/won't until we meet next week but I plan on advocating for keeping the 12th.
  • @kc0711 I think you are not alone, I think that since I already have a toddler who demands my attention I haven't like assimilated that there's a growing baby inside of me, I mean I just popped and began to feel subtle kicks so it's kinda difficult to not notice, but it's nothing like last time. It is not that you don't love this baby is just that right now you might be focusing on other stuff... maybe is just us not wanting to overwhelm ourselves knowing that our life will change once again... I can't really explain it but you are definitely not alone
  • @mayisch I love how specific the size of baby is 😆. Not just a stapler, but color + brand lol
  • @kristinl492 I know hahaha if you have the black one, well that's not baby's size it has to be the red one

  • @MrsTiger123 You are entitled to complain and say how you feel.
@rachstar18 I hope it all goes well.
@b_1029 glad the resale turned out well and your Mom is doing better.
@kc0711 Woo hoo on the sleeping through night.  I will confess a baby that doesn't sleep is one of my biggest fears.  I was evidently an amazing sleeper but my brother didn't sleep through the night until 5.
  • @bluguitarhannah I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL. Falls are tough. Hopefully recovery is relatively smooth!

@mrsdrez your, "took 3 days.." comment made me laugh. I relate to that so hard lol.... it took us multiple days to get through a 1hr show about a month or so ago. It was comical by the time we got through it.

@MrsTiger123 whaaat?! There's a follow up to PS I love you? I cried my face off at the original!
  •  EDD/weeks+days: July 7/20+6

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green!

Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: a box of dryer sheets

Upcoming appointments: nothing scheduled at the moment, but waiting on a call from the Maternity Clinic

How are you feeling? the answer I give everyone is good, but tired. For J20 I also don't want to complain, but man...i.am.tired. I am so thankful for this pregnancy, but it's so much harder this time around, I can't believe I potentially have 20 weeks to go. I need to book a vacation day to get caught up on sleep.

Raves/Rants: I'm literally the only person from my department at the office today, so it's really quiet. I'm not being super productive, but I'm enjoying my downtime and trying to get caught up on my screen time :D We had a really nice weekend as a family.

    Questions: nada

GTKY- What's your favorite movie genre? AND, bonus question, what's the last movie you saw? we're not huge movie goers, but I think the last one I saw in theatres was when I was pregnant with DS...can't even tell you the name :D At home we recently watched Brittany Runs a Marathon on Amazon Prime, it was one of those feel good movies. As for genre, it really depends on my mood. lately it's been movies on the lighter side, but every now and then I appreciate a good psychological thriller, or drama.
  • @blaf322 it’s the sequel to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before based on a Jenny Han book.  It’s on Netflix- very cute.

  • @mrs_sheddy we’re currently in a 2 bedroom bungalow, so our kids will be sharing a room. No immediate plans to move, but maybe a few years down the road. DS is excited for bunk beds though!

@pocketrose I worry about that too, but most nights when I wake up I’m on my back. I think your body just knows to alert you if something should be adjusted.

@kc0711 +1 for not being super connected yet. I think it’s mostly due to the fact that I have so many other things to think about (ie DS has a cavity and a dental appointment this week, that’s taking up my extra thinking time 😂). I do feel baby move everyday though as a little reminder.
  • @MrsTiger123 oooooh.... I thought it was a follow up to P.S. I Love You.

@coffeeandcookies84 I loved Brittany Runs a Marathon! My plan is to rewatch it once I'm cleared/able to run again because it motivates me like crazy! I was in tears at the end and totally wanted to stand up and cheer for her, right there in the theater lol
