@wednesdaygirl1019 Yay maternity clothes! Sorry the flowers are a bit off-putting... hoping you can still enjoy them. MH bought me roses and I have to stick my face in them in order to get the scent. My nose is still stuffy. Once in a while I'll catch the scent of something super strong but mostly it's relatively normal.
@BusinessWife Good luck at work tomorrow! Let us know how it goes 😘

Tell me why the dog felt the need to be barking last night for 20 minute straight!??? He just would not stop, until I was fully wide awake. DD slept right through it thankfully, but *I* sure didn't!!! :s I'm exhausted... Been hitting snooze for almost 50 minutes already. So.... Not sure how I'm going to do everything now and not be late : :/ but we'll have to try
We have a 4 day weekend and I'm so excited! Still up early thanks to my son but grateful that I'm still sitting at the table in my jammies tossing blueberries on his high chair tray while I wake up. Happy Valentine's to everyone! I hope you all do something fun today. Today is also my husband's birthday so he chose where we will go to dinner. Nothing crazy romantic. We will have our son with us and will probably go early like old people to avoid the Valentine's rush and then be home in time to watch a movie on the couch! Haha so romantic...
BusinessWife that a fun way to tell work! Enjoy telling them today. The managers in my office know and some coworkers. I like seeing people stare at me to determine if I'm fat or pregnant From the side you can tell I'm pregnant, but walking head on you can exactly tell.

@riatortillaxo Yay for your four day weekend!! What a great weekend you have planned. Enjoy
Happy Valentine's Day girlies!! I have a three day weekend, but working from home Tuesday morning and off in the afternoon for our u/s... so it's almost like a four day weekend because I don't have to get up and leave my house Tuesday morning!
Also, I slept weird and I have a crick in my neck... ugh... massage on Sunday can't get here soon enough! (not that I'm wishing away my weekend)

@ziggymama06 I also have my ultrasound on Tuesday! I'm so excited!
@BusinessWife sounds like a great way to announce (/I really want cupcakes ) … dogs are sometimes so strange. it always freaks me out when the bark in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason
DH came home from work this morning to tell me he was flashed with 15,000 Volts 😳 poor guy can hardly open his eyes, he says there’s a big flash in his sight and it feels like he has sand in his eyes.
He works with high voltage hydro.
He had an appointment this morning to bring his truck in for a couple recalls. I told him, I got this and he’s going to bed to rest his eyes. So I put him to bed and made our room black. I *hope* he can get some rest.
So while I wait at the dealership I’m thinking I’ll have his truck detailed - I literally found a full burrito in the back seat lmao it is FROZEN, like a perfect burrito brick. I thought wtf, how could he waste that?! And laughed. Our dog would just love to find that I’m sure!
We told our immediate families the news last night and my 5 yo is so happy and excited it made me feel so good! When I woke her up this morning the first thing out of her mouth was "I love you." It was the best start to my day ever. I'm do not have a huge belly and she is always trying to hug it. She's already created a list of names and is planning on which toys she will share with the baby. I am so lucky, you guys.
@radiohd18 that is so stinking sweet of your daughter!! Kids can truly make our day so much better, and they can make it so much worse. But we are not going to talk about that here.
@charhar0820 I laughed at the burrito finding. That sounds like something my husband has done. He told me that he keeps a little trash can in his car to help keep it clean, but yet I still find food all over his car. I truly don't get men, but they make me laugh all of the time.
@ziggymama06 enjoy your four day weekend. I have off on Tuesday so I also have a four day weekend.
I have been at work since 6 and I have done no work. I worked on a baby register for a friend because I felt like they were missing out on important items, and then I was "networking" around the building. I have nothing to do that has a due date, but my inbox is getting pretty long since I use that as my to do list for the office.

@blackgirlmagic Have a great long weekend! I'm with you... I've been at work 2 hours and really haven't done much... lol... no motivation. I've shopped some maternity jeggings! Bout to head to the dr to see if I have a UTI. I had zero symptoms then last night I was up a gazillion times to pee and started cramping, so I freaked out and here I am. I never have symptoms of them until they get really bad, so I'm sure it will be a humdinger. Sigh.
@ziggymama06 I have no idea how long it has been there lol our friend and his wife own a burrito shop and he frequently visits them, i can tell it’s theirs. I just have so many questions about this mystery burrito when hubby wakes up lol I’m thinking it’s been frozen since it’s been there, -30 over night last night 🥶
@BusinessWife Thank you! Me too! Luckily he has the weekend off now so I hope that helps him. It’ll be hard to get him to properly rest his eyes so they can heal quickly. He’s like my toddler. I swear he’s been training me to be a mother for the last 9 years we’ve been married lol
Guys, I'm ready to tap the frack out. The good news: I will have decent health insurance before this baby is born so at least my delivery (which I'm 90% sure will be a repeat section) will be covered.
The bad news: It won't kick in until I'm into third trimester.
We're looking at our options. We may try to apply for some private health insurance or some gap coverage, but I'll also be contacting a couple of OBs next week to see if they will allow me to private pay for appointments until my insurance kicks in. (We don't qualify for any sort of state aid.. we've looked I promise.)
My heart is broken, I am somehow even more stressed out, but I am trying to remember that at the very worst I will have insurance before I deliver, and I didn't get ill at all until my third trimester with my daughter. I keep reminding myself I found a place where I can get multiple types of ultrasounds (including anatomy scans) for what I consider a reasonable price. I'm going to be fine.
And if I say that enough eventually I'll believe it.
@wildrainbow because they are not counting any of the time he's already worked for them under contract as time he's worked and they evidently don't give new employees benefits for the first 90 days.
@wildrainbow I don't think that I've ever heard of someone not getting benefits the first 90 days! That is insane! I'm sure seeing a doctor out of pocket will get expense quick, especially with all of the blood test that they do. I don't know how you are staying sane. And I hope that you booked the appointment for the ultrasound for next week.

@RedBaramid Ughhh... I'm so sorry that they aren't able to count his time under contract as an "employee". Unfortunately, I've seen this when I worked in health insurance the usual waiting period is 90 days and back then could even be longer. I'm happy you found a good center for your scans and they were reasonably priced. I'll be sending prayers that everything runs smoothly!! Deep breaths - you'll be fine... we will all say it with you

@radiohd18 what a sweet story about your daughter! So adorable how sweet and excited she is!
@wildrainbow I'm so sorry about the possible UTI! What did the doctor say? UTIs are so awful!
@RedBaramid I'm glad you will have insurance for the delivery and I'm glad you have a plan mapped out. I'm sorry you're in that situation! I know it has been really weighing on you for so long. Fingers crossed that the rest of the process works out smoothly.
A tiny update: (Thanks so much for you guys being so supportive.. I cannot tell you how many hot tears I cried) I called my preferred OB office and they are more than happy to help me work out private paying until the insurance kicks in. I go in for my first appointment Monday (no ultrasound then, but they said given how far in I am they would probably book it very soon). I'm nervous, but finally a little excited.
Also my husband who is pretty anti-V-day brought me home a beautiful bouquet of roses and lilies (my favorites) completely unexpected and it's making me feel a lot better. (He has also promised tacos, that helps too).
@RedBaramid Girl, I'm so sorry that you're going through all this. Thank goodness your OB is willing to work with you on payments, but I can't imagine how much that would all cost out of pocket. So nice of your hubby to surprise you with flowers, and tacos literally make everything better! ❤️
@RedBaramid That is the most frustrating news, especially to find out only now, after you've waited so patiently. I hope that, in addition to working with you on payment, your OB's office is able to help you sort through what bloodwork/testing is truly essential and prioritize those decisions. You sadly cannot be the only person they have in this position (*cough* #medicareforall *cough*). I don't know whether I'm more proud of YH for the flowers or the tacos.
@ziggymama06 yeeepp. We have plans to cook tonight for V-day but I'm currently googling "[city]'s best burritos" so its looking like this evening might be an audible. (@charhar0820 100% your fault)
@wildrainbow UTIs are the worst, and I can't even imagine while pregnant. In case that is the diagnosis, I'm glad you're getting into the doctor quick.
@riatortillaxo I havent heard back yet, my guess is they called meds in, but forgot to call me. I'm going to call my pharmacy in a bit.
The thing that is worrying me is I've been having cramping. It comes and goes, but it's "rhythmic" in how it happens. It has to be too early for BH, right?!
@psychobutthead hope today was fun with your coworkers. I walked around from meeting to meeting a few weeks ago with “wishesshecouldcook is having a baby cupcakes” it was so fun to tell people.
@RedBaramid I’m glad you found a place that’s so crazy stressful!
We had a nice low key evening. I’m about to dive into some brownies. I was feeling terrible with a sinus headache yesterday I’m glad i was able to finally shake it early this morning. I didn’t sleep well last night because of it but when I was laying awake I felt baby moving and grooving for a long time which was a nice way to be up MOTN!
Brownies!!! ❤️ I made a batch the other morning only to go into work and see someone else has brought a batch in, too! Then I brought my rainbow cupcakes... It's going to be hard to cut out sweets in a couple weeks here... :#
Guys, I am already done with this day. I busted ass yesterday deep cleaning our bathroom (like hands and knees scrubbing kind of deep clean), tidied our room, the kitchen, dining area, vacuumed, picked up DS's DISASTER of a room, picked up living room toys, wiped down toilets and mirrors, washed pretty much everything, folded and put away most of it, changed sheets, etc. etc. I was working from the moment I woke up until about 8:00pm, and because of that the kids' dinner was late. I figured since they went to bed later, they'd have a full night of sleep and just MAYBE sleep in a bit this morning.
HOWEVER, DD has caught a cold, so she was uncomfortable and fussy. I went into her room to settle her about five times before just bringing her into our bed for the night. She tossed and turned all night and was on and off the boob, which I've been trying to taper off of. I stayed up late waiting for DH thinking we could have some Valentine's Day time, if ya know what I mean, and that clearly didn't happen. Lol. So when both of the kids were up before the sun this morning, I just started to cry. My lower back has been hurting more every day (despite the student midwife's remark that "it's a bit early for that"), and I'm just exhausted from trying to fit so much into each day and also trying to do a good job with these crazy kids. I'm almost never alone to regroup. The only time alone that I've even asked for lately is for midwife appointments to check on baby number three. I forever have little monkeys hanging off of me, and I'm losing it. It's just a lot.
If anyone got that far, thank you so much, and I'm sorry for rambling. I just needed to whine a little bit. I keep thinking, 'How on earth am I going to do all this with another one?' If there's a will, there's a way, I suppose!
The upside is that DH did let me sleep in an extra hour while he got the kids breakfast, and I have my first hair appointment in maybe a couple years on Monday. It's been a long time since I've done anything solely for myself, so I'm looking forward to it.
@lachnessmomster oof sorry you had such a rough day As a FTM I don't really have any words of wisdom, but I'm sure you're right "where there's a will there's a way" ... also it seems kind of rude to me that your midwife dismissed your back pain like that!
@lachnessmomster I am right there with you, love. Seriously. I'm going to get my hair done today if I can swing it. It will be my first time in a salon since ds1 was born, he's about to turn 4. Talk to your hubs about getting some alone time out of the house, remember that you can't pour from an empty cup. I know it seems selfish, but even just an hour here or there alone out of the house will do wonders for you and your family. Hugs, mama.
@lachnessmomster that was nice that you got to sleep in. Sleep is the way to my heart for sure! I'm glad you're getting your hair done Monday. I think getting out of the house for an hour or two each week would be good. You deserve a break. Staying home with kids is so hard. I've done both and honestly they are equally difficult the challenges are just different. And way to go you cleaning the whole house!!! Mine is due for sure.
@wildrainbow I hope you can get out and get your hair done as well. I'm definitely due.
@wildrainbow hope your cramps calmed down over night.
I was mostly MIA this week because I’m trying to be mindful of my phone usage around my kids and husband. And this app takes forever for me to navigate around, even worse when it glitches.
But I’ve been popping in and keeping tabs on everyone! Sending the struggling momma’s positive vibes. Forgive yourselves for weaker moments. It’s hard to always keep it together. No matter how old we are or how much we know 💗
@fitandnerdy@wildrainbow@jwhite3116 Thanks, girls. I think some time away, even just an hour, would be helpful to recharge. My mood has gotten more sour as the day has gone on. DH is about to leave to go to the shooting range for the afternoon, so I'm fending for myself. I'm debating going through a drive-thru to get a Frosty or something to cheer DS and I up and just get out of the house for a minute. DD still has a drippy nose, so I doubt she feels like going in anywhere, but maybe a drive will help her nap. And I was also annoyed by the comment regarding my lower back, but I took some solace in the fact that it was the student and not the actual midwife I was seeing who said it. I just brushed it off, but yeah, if you're going to dismiss a patient's discomfort, why even bother asking how she's feeling in the first place? @wildrainbow I hope you got to sneak in your hair appointment today. You deserve it!
@lachnessmomster I’m sorry that you are having a rough time. You deserve to take a break Lady. Even if it’s for an hour. Or just walking around the block with no kids. Take that break!
Scheduling time for yourself, each and everyone of us, so is freaking important. Whether you are working a 9-5 or working being a sahm, you deserve a break. If your partner can be outside of the house for a few hours during the week, then so can you. Balancing YOUR social time and family time is so important. Im sure if you are not functioning at your best, then neither is your home. We all go through the guilt of leaving a kids, even if just for a couple hours, but you will feel so much better when you return. Even if you need to hire a sitter for an hour or two do it! Save for it and make it happen. You will be so relieved that you did.

@lachnessmomster Days like that - when you've put so much into getting ahead and end up feeling more behind and discouraged than ever - are especially hard. You are a rockstar for everything you accomplished yesterday, and I hope you do get that frosty and it hits the spot. Are you doing anything fun/majorly different with your hair on Monday?
This is a PSA I wish I had known earlier. I rarely wear make up but I was going through the ingredients on my conceler (benefit) and foundation (pur) and the Conceler has a retinol derivative (retinyl) and the foundation has retinol in it. I’ve only used it 3 ish times while pregnant but man! I’m kinda pissed at myself for not checking the labels. I had no idea they would sneak that into beauty products other than the obvious Anti aging creams/Products. Maybe you all knew this already but maybe someone will be as makeup naive as me 🤷🏻♀️

Thank you so much to everyone for your supportive comments. These days are hard, but it helps knowing that everyone has them, and you're all right about asking for more time to myself. It's something I need to prioritize, because pushing and pushing myself until I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown is obviously not working.
@emiliadkay I think I'm going to go for a balayage. I don't know if those are still popular, but I figured it would be helpful when my roots grow back out. I know I won't get to the salon again in a timely manner. I'd like to keep most of my length, so I'll probably just have it trimmed. This is the photo I gave for color reference.
