Also for anyone asking. I ordered my Doppler from eBay. It worked great with my daughter!!! My friend has it right now so I can’t use it with this pregnancy yet. 😭
@b_1029 That was impressive and I don't mind, I'm from Mexico, I think I am the only one not living in the USA although I can cross the border into Texas in less than 10 minutes
How are you feeling? Eh I'm okay. I'm having a really hard time sleeping. I even got a Snoogle (my husband calls it my "snoodle" because its like a snuggly noodle lol) and it helps some, but sleeping on my side is just not comfortable for me. I'm still nauseated and throwing up but not as much as before. And I'm just constantly worried about baby, which it sounds like we all are. Being in this stage of not being able to feel her moving is hard!!
Raves/Rants: All the raves for my husband! He worked his butt off the past two weeks at the Sundance Film Festival, which meant I usually only saw him briefly in the morning and at night, but he is done now and I can see him more! And he has helped me get back on top of cleaning the house...it was really hard to keep up with all the house chores with just me those two weeks. He is literally the best and I just adore him. Rants unfortunately go to my MIL....its too long of a story to write all here, haha, but she just makes things difficult and blames me and DH for not being "involved" in the family, even though we live 17 hours away and I have a full time job so I can't just take off whenever we want to go visit them. It's hard because I feel like we genuinely try to visit them as much as possible, but when weighing my limited PTO with visiting DH's family in the midwest and my family in the southeast, it is really hard to give everyone the time they think they deserve.
Questions: Any tips on sleeping on your side? I'm so tired....lol
GTKY- Do you have any superstitions? So I was born and raised in the south, and I guess a lot of what we called "wives' tales" are superstitions....like if cows are laying down in the field it means it is going to rain, if your ears are hot it means someone is talking about you, walking under a ladder is bad luck, if you spill salt you should throw some over your left shoulder, etc. I don't swear by any of them, but they are "sayings" I think about when they come up.

@knockupthestock Ijust bought a pillow that is similar to the snoogle . It’s taken me a few nights to figure out how to sleep with it. Which side is more comfy, how much should I pull between my legs etc. last night I slept with the long side to my front and the two end pieces coming up around my back. (Mines more C shaped) and I stayed in that position for 6 hours straight 😂 then did my usual tossing and turning. I also use it to prop me on my side just a bit when I lay on my back which I’ve found nice as well to get off my side. I also use a second pillow under my head because mines not poofy enough for that. But I’m gonna keep moving it around to figure out the best way. It’s a learning curve I didn’t expect lol
@nursejenn5 haha it definitely is a weird learning curve! thanks for the insight! i'll have to try some of those methods lol

@nursejenn5. @knockupthestock I had the same issues with my snoogle last pregnancy. It took me awhile to figure out how to sleep with the dang thing. I am planning to take mine out tonight and I will probably go through the same thing again!
@knockupthestock I was raised in the South, too, and five minutes ago I spilled salt while making supper so I spun in a circle and threw salt over my shoulder. I don’t even know what that’s supposed to do but I do it. 😂🤷♀️ I’ve been trying to figure out the snoogle, too. I’ve found that I can’t use it as a head pillow (I use a separate pillow for that) so I have the smaller end between my thighs (higher up than my knees) and the larger side swooped behind me. I still wake up on my back sometimes but I tend to wake up right away when that happens. This whole snoogle dance has reinforced for DH and I that we need a king sized bed.
@b_1029 girl is crushing it in the new joint thread. I have big plans to respond to everyone before the end of the week but I think that’s just a lie at this point. We bought a dresser and crib from west elm when they did a collaboration with pottery barn. I’m in love with it. I know it’s early but my husband saw how much I loved it and bought it for me to have it installed Thursday (since it’s my birthday). I like sitting in little mans room. It helps me keep focused on why I’m feeling so so horrible lol. I also have an appointment Wednesday that I’m worried about. Just remember as of now we have no reason to think anything is wrong so why stress ourselves out? (I say as I stress)
@beckylookatherbump I just ordered our nursery furniture as well (well the crib and changing table/dresser) partially out of excitement And the fact I like to plan and be early organized. But partially because I have an early deadline for having the majority of the nursery done 😂
@beckylookatherbump I’m like 1 second away from buying a chair (glider/recliner) from pottery barn since they’re having a nursery sale! Just waiting for DH’s approval 😬 I love their stuff!
@b_1029 look at crate and barrel. They have one from babyletto that’s automatic and it’s so smooth. We are in love but being gifted it at our baby shower by my mil. It moves like a glider but is a recliner. It’s amazing.
@nursejenn5 I say just do it whenever you want. On days when I feel good I like to work on it. Our nursery is our office so we had to move everything out and find somewhere for it to go (not easy). Plus I figure if I’m the third trimester I’m nesting and the nursery is done I can organize other parts of the house (kitchen I’m looking at you)
Hoo dang! Am I ever behind! Sorry ladies. I will do my best to catch up. Just know I am rooting for everyone's little beans (or oranges or lemons, etc.)

Upcoming appointments: Bloodwork next week then first meeting with my actual OB on the 23rd. I was able to get referred to the woman who did the majority of my IVF cycle so she already knows our story. She also did our 8 week u/s!
How are you feeling? Still a little tired and now the round ligament pain has started. Not too bad overall though. I'm just glad the nausea is done. Starting to feel a bit of the glow as well which is nice. I feel particularly lovely today
Raves/Rants: Nothing really. Just training my replacement at work. My last day is February 14th. Trainee is good, but I hate training people. I just want to do my job and go home. He has the basics handled so I can give him some space to handle things on his own. I start my new job on the 19th. I slightly wish it was the following week so I could have a bit of downtime, but I get an extra long weekend essentially. DH and I have a couple of nights booked in a hotel starting on the 16th. It is his staff party so we just turned it into a mini-babymoon. I will have dinner, sit through the prize draw and then go watch the Scotties in the room
Questions: N/A
GTKY- Do you have any superstitions? Not really. I will knock on wood though depending on what it is, ex. possibility of a snow day
Thanks @blaf322 I am a receptionist currently, but I am moving to government HR which will be nice with a little bean coming along. They also told me that I am entitled to maternity leave even though it is only a term position. Sweet!
Upcoming appointments: AS on February 26 and then a regular appointment right after
How are you feeling? Still nauseated all the time.
Raves/Rants: Had 2 sick kids for 10 days. Pretty sure I deserve a medal for catching vomit in my bare hands. 😂
Questions: Nope
GTKY- Do you have any superstitions? I’m not superstitious but when I was little I was pretty OCD, still sort of am. But all the light switches have to be down. I was pretty neurotic about routines and how I did certain things - it I walked clockwise in circle around the table, I’d have to walk counterclockwise back around to even it out. I’m proud to say I’ve addressed a lot of these irrational compulsive tendencies but still struggle with certain things.
How are you feeling? I'm doing good, except for the hip pain that is affecting my sleep. So I've been pretty tired this week.
Raves/Rants: Just had my AS yesterday and there were no issues!! So amazing to see all of the different parts of baby's body, the chambers of the heart, the sections of the brain, everything. And baby was moving around like crazy, the technician was having to give chase haha. It was awesome.
Questions: Nope
GTKY- Do you have any superstitions? No, although I do knock on wood when I say something like, "I haven't gotten sick yet."
@bluguitarhannah I know this is your first as well...I am excited for you to experience it. And I will be thinking about you, that everything will be well with the baby and you!
Gah, super late because we were on a trip and then I got a horrible cold, but I've read through at least this thread now!

How are you feeling? Caught a cold that has just wiped me out. We took a trip up to the mountains last weekend, and it hit me hard the night before we left, so driving down the mountain was not fun. I'm feeling better today but still just exhausted - thank you pregnancy "immunity" being horrible at this stage! I did get a bit of house cleaning done before work without my other 2 little around, which was good.
But pregnancy-wise I'm doing pretty good. A little bit of RLP, a few BH (I get them a lot and early), a distinct bump, I *think* a tiny bit of movement... Ooh, and I get little sparkly flashes in the corners of my eyes sometimes. It's happened with all 3 pregnancies, and my OB isn't worried unless I have any other concerning symptoms, but it always makes me a little anxious. The hormonal emotions are maybe toning down, but I'm still upset more easily than usual and tear up when I wouldn't normally.
Raves/Rants: Rant - this cold. Rave - I think I'm starting to feel slight movement, which makes me happy.
Questions: Any recommended prenatal yoga online? There are a bunch of options, and I haven't figured out how I'm going to to fit it into my schedule, but I really want to start doing some yoga again and don't want to try to narrow things down myself if I don't have to!
GTKY- Do you have any superstitions? Not really. My parents always (jokingly) told us to hold our breath through tunnels or it was bad luck, and I still often do it. Don't actually believe it's bad luck, though (or I'd do it every time! h

How are you feeling? Really good (knock on wood- that's one of my superstitions), but hungry all the time! I feel like I have to eat every two hours or I'm stomach-growling starving otherwise.
Raves/Rants: My sister is driving me nuts. She's older by six years and got married for the second time in December. She went on a mini honeymoon right after and now is planning a longer honeymoon in May. When my mom and I talked about my baby shower, I told her some dates I'd like to go with towards the end of May and my sister immediately vetoed every one because she *might* plan her honeymoon for those two weekends. I also told my mom privately that I really didn't want to have the shower at my sister's house because she's a control freak and we don't have the best relationship. At lunch today, they basically cornered me into having it there. Ugh. Also- I don't mean to sound ungrateful because throwing a shower is super generous but if you knew the history between my sister and I, it wouldn't sound so ungrateful.
Questions: Is anyone doing a babymoon and if you are, when and where? DH and I are trying to plan one and looking to go around 30 weeks (driving there, not flying).
GTKY- Do you have any superstitions? SO MANY! It's actually silly at this point but my biggest ones have to do with sports. I will only wear my green Phillies hat to any game I attend. During football season, I will only wear a Notre Dame top on Saturdays and my pink Eagles hat on Sundays. Please don't judge me as an Eagles fan. I'm not one of the nasty ones.
Question! Has anyone else had slight cramping? Like not bad...just kinda sporadic... the only thing I can think of is Braxton Hicks... but this early?!?! Like this pregnancy is so different from my others and it makes me worry!
@Mamaof2beautifulgirls I’ve been having some! Mine were pretty painful and and lasted for a few hours so I called the on call line and the OB said that the more pregnancies you’ve had the earlier you tend to get them
@rjk0427 H and I live near the west coast. So he voted for a weekend on the coast. Which was our first vacation together. We will be driving. But this time around no camping on the beach, I’m booking and Airbnb 😂 we had to do it on a weekend I already have off work so we’re looking mid-April. (I’ll be around 26 weeks) well probably do other small camping trips after that but this is the only “going away” we have planned. Another option we were gonna go visit my sister, bil, and niece in Texas. But H really wants the coast.
@rjk0427 our second anniversary is in early April so we’re going up near the Canadian border to Grand Marais for a few days. About a 6 hour drive. It’s a darling little town on Lake Superior. I know going further North probably doesn’t sound great to most but I’m a sucker for cozy cabins, fireplaces, and quiet walks in the woods.
@pocketrose@rjk0427 they also make some pretty fun Philly sports baby attire. I remember my friend got a bib at her shower that said “I already hate the Cowboys” 😂
@meanjellybean- that bib sounds AMAZING! DH is a Raiders fan but he supports the Birds if they aren't playing each other. I think I need to start shopping. @pocketrose I hope you make it to a game! We probably won't get to any this year, but it's okay. DH is a Braves fan (I try not to think about it) so we usually go when they play each other, but he's a jinx and the Phils lose every time! @rachelredhead and @nursejenn5- both of your trips sound lovely! We're in PA so we've been thinking about driving to Myrtle Beach in early May (due July 10). I'm going to talk to my ob about it just to make sure that isn't too soon to the due date. If it is, we may plan a trip even further south in late March/early April but that would require flying.
