  • @hbird0723 haha at least he tried to tell you in a sort of helpful way 😂

  • I’m late on the pet discussion- I’m not super worried about how any of my pets (1 dog, 2 cats) will react to the baby but I AM worried about the cats laying on the baby and crushing it 😂 is that dumb? One of the cats in particular is obsessed with laying on my chest and she’s a bit chunky, like it’s a bit hard for me to breathe if she’s laying on my chest. I have these nightmares that I’m going to wake up to feed baby in the middle of the night and she’s going to be on top of them. Is there some sort of way to deter them from doing this? DH were talking about some sort of screen or something haha, can you tell we are clueless first time parents?
  • @b_1029 I’m worried about the same for my dog. He loves to step and lay on people(we’re working on it) He’s pretty good with little kids. I’m hoping he’ll realize the baby is too small to try and do this too (he doesn’t do it to our smaller animals so. Maybes) my sister was afraid of the cat thing but the cats generally leave my niece alone. They have some sort of “sense” it seems like haha. But the do catch the mischievous one in the crib alone at times.
we may add a baby gate to the doorway of the nursery to try and deter animals in there while we’re not in there supervising. (But I’m thinking baby will be in our room for the first 6 months at least)
  • @nursejenn5 they don’t really lay on DH often so I’m hoping this is just a me problem and won’t transfer over to the baby! Haha. I am sure they will get in the crib before baby sleeps in it though, knowing them!
  • @nursejenn5 I looove decluttering. We’ve been in our house for about 4-5 years now + the addition of our son 2 years ago = a house filling with crap! I’ve been going through each room and donating to a veterans charity that comes and picks it up. It’s so freaking easy and so satisfying. Our sons nursery also started out as the “junk room” and it felt so great to see it transform!
  • @nursejenn5 I’m so jealous of your nursery project! We’re house hunting and we saw 6 houses today with our realtor and none were winners. I know more stuff will come on the market in the spring but I want to nest NOW!

  • @nursejenn5
Our baby 2 nursery is a disaster right now!  We used it as "I don't know what to do with this" stuff when we moved in 1.5 years ago.  So now we have to figure out what to do with that stuff.  🤣  Not excited about cleaning out.  VERY excited about decorating!
  • My nursery prep is going to consist of putting the pack n play in my office once the baby’s six months old. 😬 At some point I’ll have to give up the office - probably move my desk into our bedroom. So I’m not doing that any sooner than I have to!
  • Jealous of the dedicated nurseries, we just have 2 bedrooms so the “nursery” will be 3/4 our guest bed and then a crib. We’ll have to put the rest of the furniture in our room because there’s no other room for it in there. Totally a first world problem though, at least the 2 bedrooms we have are relatively large!
  • sorry... I know I'm super late to all of this, buuuuut...

@beckylookatherbump omg... I'd have murdered my H if he said that! WTF?! lol

@modoodles ummmm... those cheeses are perfectly safe when cooked. Tell him to let you handle the baby growing... including what you're eating to grow that baby lol
  • @blaf322 he said I was being too hormonal and irrational. He quickly realized his error and apologized... and slept on the couch lol.
  • @beckylookatherbump It would have taken effort to not demonstrate my super hormonal powers that could make life even harder.

I had a total hormonal breakdown in car as we were driving on the edge of a literal take shelter tornado warning Friday night.  I realized I was not helping at all but there was no stopping my reaction.
  • @Pascal86 My office is becoming the nursery too. We moved my desk and printer into the hallway. Luckily there is enough room and I don't work from home as much as I used to. I'm keeping the walk in closet though, the baby will have his clothes in DS's room and I expect we'll have them share a room when baby (DS2) is a bit older and I'll get my closet room/office back.

and on everyone else's comments about hormones...I'm feeling them so much recently too. I don't remember this in any of my other pregnancies, maybe it's just one of those things you block out?
  • @bluguitarhannah and @LaurenAsh23 well at this point I haven’t slept well since I got pregnant, I’m exhausted all the time, everything I eat make me vomit (and so does not eating) and now I have a cold so i I friend him that if I’m a little hormonal he better keep it to him damn self lol.
  • @beckylookatherbump most days I’m convinced THEY are actually the hormonal, irrational ones. It’s just dealing with them that makes us extra hormonal 😂
