Appointment on Tuesday. I went Monday and the baby was too young to be seen. (As mentioned in the other thread) Based of O I should be 6+6 on Tuesday. Hoping for good news!
First appt followed by first US on Jan 16th. Will be 1 day shy of 11 weeks---with holidays and a vacation next week, first appt had to be pushed to a little later than typical, so am SO SO SO excited to FINALLY get an US!
First U/S next Monday (1/6)! I'll be 6w3d! I'm so excited to see how the little bean is growing!

My first appointment will be 1/20 and it'll put me at 11 weeks. They said they won't see anyone sooner than 10 weeks and she's on vacation during my tenth week. So I've had to wait since I found out Thanksgiving 😭 I'm getting so impatient
@mammahope I feel your pain! Seeing everyone's US's super early on makes me so jealous--I'll be right around 11 weeks too at my very first appt Jan 16. Cannot WAIT to finally go in!!!!
Had my first appointment today for bloodwork and meeting the midwife. Also got an ultrasound to check on some things... measuring a little behind based on ovulation (which I was tracking with temps so I'm fairly confident on the date), but right on track for LMP. Measured 5w6d when I thought I should be 6w3d. Follow up ultrasound in 2 weeks to check on growth and to make sure the heart rate increases
Based on the ultrasound, they are going to go with my LMP for due date rather than what it is estimated to be based on ovulation.. which pushes me back from August 24 to August 29! As long as baby is growing appropriately and things look good in 2 weeks, I'm actually not too mad about it... it gives me some extra time at the end before they start talking about interventions
Today was my first appointment. Baby looked healthy and good. I’m measuring right on track with my lmp and sticking with August 2, two days before our 8th anniversary. We are hoping this baby comes on their due date because my daughter did as well. We are playing the lottery if it does.
I’m so excited that my insurance finally does the blood test to determine the sex. So I can in on Monday for that blood work. Next Friday is my nurses appointment, which I feel is a little backwards but whatever. And then I go back on the 23rd for my 12 week appointment. Ahh!!
So I’m excited after seeing the baby that I want to tell our daughter, but I’m not ready for her to tell the world. Lol.

First ultrasound tomorrow (1/3), I should be 6w2d based on ovulation 6w6d based on LMP- I've had some scary spotting and loss of symptoms so i'm really nervous, but I know it can all be normal too- just ready to finally see what's in there!!
Getting the NT scan and NIPT done on 1/20. I didn’t get NIPT with DS but am doing it now because of my ~ahem~ advanced age. I will take any excuse to see the baby again!
My first appointment is 1/6! I'll be 9w2d. I think the plan is to do bloodwork and intake stuff. The receptionist said that they would try to find a heartbeat with doppler (no ultrasound apparently) so I'm hoping that we get to hear it!
Sitting outside the OB office right now for my first appointment this morning! So nervous. I've never done this before and am praying everything is ok!
@fitandnerdy I'm with you - I know I ovulated a couple days "early" but will not be sharing that info with my OB. The later the due date, the better, if and when it comes down to the wire at the end!
@blackgirlmagic Congrats on such a successful first appointment! Hope you get to tell the little blabbermouth soon maybe you'll even be able to announce a brother/sister by then!
My first appointment is on 1/13, at 7+5 based on LMP. I found out yesterday that DH won't be able to come, which is fine as long as there's only good news but it's scary to know I'll be alone if they find anything troubling. He had a pretty weak attendance record throughout our first pregnancy, come to think of it... Any of you have the SO that comes to every. single. appointment? I love when guys make a point of that. So sweet.
@emiliadkay I'm sorry YH won't be there for the first appointment. Try not to let the negative cloud your mind and stay positive girl. Hubs will be with me at the first appointment on Monday (eeeek I can't wait!). Our second appt to meet with the dr and get my bloodwork results was supposed to be 1/16, but he will be out of town at a big work conference. He asked that I reschedule for when he is back because he wants to be there. This is our first, so I don't know that this trend will continue, but I'm liking it so far. He works from home which is near the dr, so it's easier for him to sneak out for a bit to join me.

@emiliadkay my husband came to just about all of our daughter's appointments because he worked in the hospital next door to the offices. He most likely will not be able to make it to as many of this one's appointments because he's moving up in his job and won't be able to take the time off from working. He did like being there for our daughter's appointments though.
My husband came to the important ones when we had ultrasounds or when we went over family history. But he did not come with me to every one. Most of the appointments were quick check ups to make sure it was all going well and I was in and out. He might have to come more often this time because he will need to meet me to get our son since most of my appointments will be on my way home from work.
emiliadkay my husband only comes to the first appointment and the AS. Other than that I don't want him to use his leave for 15 minute appointments. I'd rather him have that leave for when the baby is here to help me out with it.

@emiliadkay I just made my appointment for my NT scan/NIPT and of course my husband tells me it’s the only time that week he has afternoon court. I’m going to try to change it because I’m terrified of going alone and getting not great news. Plus I don’t always do so great for blood draws. This will hopefully be our 3rd take home baby and he’s made it to every ultrasound/high risk appointment. He skips the regular OB oneS because they’re quick and it’s pointless for him to go.
Edit: because I didn’t actually answer your question at first.
@emiliadkay I think my husband will for sure be at any appointment that involves an ultrasound. He wants to try to make as many as he can, but not sure he will feel the same way when he realizes how frequent they become later on lol...
My H only went to the 1st, 2nd and AS last time. I think maybe one other when he was off work anyway. At the 2nd appt we had to wait forever and it lasted 2 min so he was super annoyed and we agreed he didn’t need to come again. He went to my first one this time even though I told him he didn’t have to. I expect he will also go to the AS but that’s it unless there are any complications.
My H came to the first appointment and the 20-week ultrasound with our first. He only came to the 20-week ultrasound with #2. The appointments just really aren't convenient times. The earliest and latest are at 9:30 and 4:30, so it's just totally weird for any regular work schedule, and he didn't have PTO for his last job and currently has a long commute. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I am so used to DH not being there after our IF journey. The first one he will be at is hopefully next week when we graduate the RE, and he did come last time to pretty much all the important scans. But once your partner's not even able to be there for transfer.... 🤷🤷🤷 In fact both transfers he was not there were the ones that worked.
FTM here, but wanted to mention something. I'm in northern Ontario and my psychiatrist told me (from personal experience) that if the ultrasound tech says I can't have my hubby with me then I have every right to put up a stink about it. Apparently, here it is your right to have someone accompany you, if you so choose.
This is especially important for me because I've struggled with my mental health my whole life, and my husband is my safe place. I would 100% need him in the room if there was bad news. I have my first US on Wednesday, so I'll let you guys know how that goes. 😶
I almost wonder if it’s because they want to question you about your life, to make sure everything is good on the home front? I remember going in to doctor, maybe for a Pap smear, and I was also seeing a therapist at the same time (everyone should have one. It’s such a great outlet) and he was making sure everything was good in my home life. It only happened that one time. Maybe the therapist I had focused on certain subjects and that was a red flag for him? 🤷♀️ I went to therapy because I had anxiety about going back to work after my first and then once I worked past that it was just nice to speak with an unbiassed person. But at my appointments that I go to and he’s with me, he is there from start to finish.

So far, all I've had is blood work when I first found out just to confirm hCG levels and check progesterone. But my first actual appointment is Jan. 14th. Based on LMP I'll be 9+2, but based on suspected ov. I'll really be 8+something. Sorry to those of you whose appointments got pushed back! I'm hoping the time flies by!
My husband is excited to go with me to the first appointment. If appointments are quick, he can sometimes get by without taking time off because his lunch break can be moved around as long as he has no meetings. But I read the first appointment usually takes a while, so he went ahead and took a half-day. Even when I had the initial blood draw, he offered to come with me, but I knew I wouldn't see a doctor and wouldn't get any information in person (good or bad), so I told him not to. He's very sweet and happy to come to any appointments with me, but like @blackgirlmagic said I'll probably only ask him to come to the more interesting ones. I don't know for sure though-- this is our first, so we'll see how it goes!
I don't like getting my blood drawn, but other than that I actually enjoy going to doctor appointments. Is that weird? I don't know, there's just something fulfilling about getting yourself taken care of and feeling like you're one step closer to being healthy. Plus, I always associate it with a day off from work, so it's automatically a great day. I even get excited to go in and get my flu shot My opinion might change as I age and my health declines...
My first appointment is 1/8 and is just a pregnancy confirmation. When I asked what to expect they said I'll just be leaving a urine sample and speaking with the nurse and then the provider. They said no US was scheduled, which is disappointing. I guess I won't even get to hear a heartbeat? I should be around 8+2 on the day of the appointment.
@hadassah2020 my doctors office always takes me back first to do vitals and asks a series of questions about emotional and physical abuse. After that, they bring my H in. It’s now supposed to be standard practice to do this because anyone who is being domestically abused typically needs to be asked several times before they are willing to talk about it, and obviously isn’t going to talk about it with their partner in the room. I’ve asked before if I can sign something to not have to do it every time but they said no because relationships change and people might be pressured into signing or they would lie. It’s slightly inconvenient for most of us, but I’m glad they do this for the people who need it.
@faith_2911 I like going to doctor appointments too! They give me peace of mind and make me feel like I’m doing something for my health.
@roo_baby Glad I'm not the only one! I think it's really cool that your doctors offices do that, and the explanation for why they have strict rules about it makes sense. I don't think they do that in my state, or at least not in any doctors' offices I've been in. I'm sure a lot of women probably wouldn't confide their situation to their doctors or might not really even define their relationship as abusive, but l definitely agree with you that it's a wonderful practice for the people that it helps.
@bebeyoda0820 Wow. I'm sorry you'll be far enough along for an ultrasound, but they aren't doing one. That's annoying. I would think that if they don't do ultrasounds at 8 weeks, they would have at least scheduled one with you for a later time. Hope all goes well and you're able to have one done soon!
