@babytimeagain oh how frustrating! Fx for a smooth appointment tomorrow. When I first told her about DD, my mom said to me not to feel bad if I had a loss at 10 weeks. 😐 So now that that seed has been planted, that's pretty much my worst fear, having a MMC between now and our 12 week appointment. Telling family at 10w, and then having to un-tell everyone two weeks later. I am kind of a wreck over it, and I hope I can get back to a place where I am just over the moon again. I hope your appointment helps you get past that ominous milestone, too. ❤️
@BusinessWife thank you so much. I hope we’re able to both breathe a huge sigh of relief after our 12 week scans. Pregnancy after loss is so much harder than I ever thought it would be!
@emiliadkay RIGHT!? I'm not at work during the day, but I'm swarmed with children! I'm not just taking the afternoon to have me-time for literally any reason. Blows my mind. And that makes me feel better about the PT, because those are pretty much the things I do at home anyway with some squats thrown in. At least I'm not doing it completely wrong.
Also, just to throw this out there, The Fourth Trimester by Kimberly Ann Johnson was a real game-changer for me in learning about my pelvic health, prolapse, and just general information regarding birth and pregnancy, if anyone is interested.
@babytimeagain That is infuriating! So glad you're going to interview with a new office. If this is the care you're receiving now when it comes to basic appointments, what kind of care are you going to get during labor and delivery? I hope the CN-midwife group is a more promising option.
@babytimeagain I cannot believe everything has been down for a whole week!! Good for you for demanding to be seen and also for looking into something better. I hope the appointment goes well. I will be thinking of you!
@babytimeagain Jeez, glad you are able to get in today and good luck! Definitely a good idea to look at another practice.
I had my first appt with the dr yesterday and baby is progressing right on track! Yay!! We got to hear the heartbeat for a second then baby moved and we couldn't locate it again, but could see it flickering. I'll go back next week for the NIPT (paying $250 out of pocket since insurance won't cover anything). The dr said this could be done right at 10 weeks which is what I will be. They are also sending me to a specialist for a high-risk 3D ultrasound in a few weeks since my brother my born with a cleft lip and it could be genetic. I really didn't want a 3D scan of the baby, but oh well. Baby's health is number 1. All my bloodwork came great, except I'm super low on vitamin D - because it's winter in NJ!! So I'll need to take a supplement. Eek... it's getting so real!!!!

@babytimeagain I am so glad you are exploring other options. I can't even imagine how frustrated you must be by this whole experience. I hope your appointment today went well.
I have an ultrasound scheduled for 8am Monday morning, and then a prenatal visit with my midwifery practice at 9. I am trying to stay calm but I am getting so anxious. I am 12 weeks tomorrow and haven't seen this baby or heard a heartbeat, so I am freaking out that something could have gone wrong and I have no idea because I have no "proof" that there's actually a baby besides peeing on a stick. We are finally telling our parents tomorrow, because that was our original plan to wait until I was 12 weeks and of course this is the only weekend we'll be able to see both sets of parents (mine leave next weekend to spend a month in Florida). Gah!
@wisheshecouldcook that’s the worst! I never got the notice that my doctor had. I had my blood drawn on the 10 and he had the results by the 16th, but didn’t say anything until I saw him on the 23 😤. Hopefully this weekend flies by for you, in a relaxing way.

OB appt update: They only tested me for a possible infection and scheduled a full appointment for next Thursday. The midwife I saw didn’t want to try to find the heartbeat via Doppler because of how early I am (10 weeks). The ultrasound tech had already left for the day, and she didn’t want me to be possibly scared until my next scheduled ultrasound if we didn’t hear anything. Which I get (and she was super nice about it and tried her best to fit me in), but it’s still hard to be in limbo yet another week. Also annoying that I’ll have to pay for a babysitter again for yet another appointment. Sigh. I really hope the consult with the other practice goes well next week so I’m comfortable switching over. Bright side, I finally got to meet with a midwife and she was so empathetic and kind. Didn’t feel rushed at all. Definite improvement over the other OB’s I’ve seen. So now I’m scheduled for an ultrasound at 11 weeks (next week’s appt) then my NT scan is at 12 weeks. I think the NIPT is around then too, but they haven’t confirmed.
@wednesdaygirl1019 ugh, that’s crappy timing. I hope the weekend flies by for you and that you have a wonderful and reassuring first appointment. 12 weeks is a long time to wait!
@WishesSheCouldCook that is so frustrating! It’s crap how so many offices sit on those results. I know you’ll be counting down the hours until they open Monday! Hoping no news is good news. 😊
@ziggymama06 re: vitamin d for a while there i had vitamin d gummies i would take in the morning with my fiber, plus 2000miu in a capsule in the evening. Not sure what my levels have been, but no one mentioned them being low, at least! 🤷
@BusinessWife Funny you should mention gummies! I bought the vitamin d gummies today on my lunch. I also bought the calcium plus vitamin d ones too bc I'm paranoid about my calcium intake being low. I wasn't thrilled with buying the gummies bc I've never tried any before, but they were the only pure/organic options in store... and to my surprise, they taste really good! I actually just logged into the labcorp portal to look at my actual levels out of curiosity.

@blackgirlmagic I would be furious if my dr sat on the results so long! Do you know which NIPT you did? It’s been 3 days since I took mine and I’m already so freaking impatient. I’m hoping maybe Monday or Tuesday.
@roo_baby no I don’t. I can find the paper work tomorrow and see if I can find it. I was out of the country so there was no way for him to call me or me to call him, so I didn’t mind. But if I was in the states I would have been calling.

Update: Today's bloodwork appointment went great! They actually were able to squeeze me in for a quick Doppler, too, so we were able to hear the heartbeat! Nice and strong in the 160s. So that is a huge huge relief 😀 As you already know, I have been so stressed out and anxious waiting since my last appointment, so it's nice to be able to relax and breathe again.
Now we are telling the ILs THIS Saturday, since the party got pushed back. And I'd much rather tell them happy and excited, then tell them scared. Woo hoo!!! 🎉🎉🎉
ETA @wildrainbow It's the Claritest. she said it can take five to seven business days to come back, due to the nature of the genetic testing. So we should hear back next week. But luckily, that sweet, sweet heartbeat is all I needed to hear to put my mind at ease for this weekend!
@BusinessWife Yay! Such happy news! I'm so glad you got to listen to the heartbeat. The reassurance that everything is going just fine is always such a relief!
Finally had my first appt! We heard the heartbeat via Doppler. I also survived the bloody draw 😅 Man that sucks. They don't have to take so much blood 3rd trimester do they??? I don't remember.
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
@tyrion_ That pic is too funny. And too true.
I had a private scan today to ease my anxiety and all went well! Phew! I was measuring 2 days ahead (9w 4d), and saw an adorable gummy hear with a heartbeat of 175. We saw baby wriggle and move and even got to hear the heartbeat. It was awesome. Worth every cent of the $50 fee. I am breathing so much easier now and hoping this feeling carries me all the way to the NT scan at 12-14 weeks.
Had my appointment this morning, baby looked perfect! Lil Bean measured 12 weeks, and I'm 11w4d. Hb was 156. Did my NIPT bloodwork today and other well. 9 vials, sheesh. I asked the tech to test her mettle on if she thinks boy and girl, and it looks like girl. We will know for sure in a week!
Had my first OB appointment today (9w6d). They drew 7 vials (would have been more but they were able to do some of the tests from the same vial). Since I had HELLP with my last pregnancy they wanted to get baseline for all of those tests so that it's easier for them to keep an eye on it so they know what values are high. Tomorrow I'm doing a 24 hour urine to get the baseline for that.
Waiting to find out if insurance will cover a NT and NIPT test (I don't expect there to be an issue with NIPT since they covered it last time). Provided I get the OK, we'll do that in 2 weeks!

@BusinessWife I did the Harmony test, but also got all my pregnancy bloodwork done since it was my first "official" OB appt in the computer. So I got all of that done, plus a baseline for my values in case I get Cholestasis again. I already have protein in my urine, so I may do a 24 hr catch soon. I hate needles, which sucks because I usually have to get a sample taken once a month in pregnancy to keep an eye on my liver.
I had my NIPT yesterday and they only took 2 vials compared to 13 last appt for my genetic testing. The woman who did my bloodwork yesterday was awful! She found a vein right away but my arm is still sore! She must have ripped it out too quickly or something?!
