Re: Weekly Randoms 12.9

  • @MrsTiger123 I made roasted chicken for dinner last night too and had the same reaction!  Couldn't stomach even one bite. So I had green beans and toast instead. It was all I could do to stay at the table!

  • @rachelredhead I’m craving Raisin Bran now! I mostly have aversions so this is good! I hope it sounds good tomorrow!

  • @hbird0723 hope it helps! It has honestly been a lifesaver for me at suppertime.
  • @rachelredhead pregnancy is the only time I indulge in giant bowls of cereal. Right now I’m on a mini wheats kick, but raisin bran is sounding pretty good now!
  • Ive been on a cereal kick too! I haven't kept cereal in the house in years. Corn flakes for me
  • @MrsTiger123 I have the same issue. DH has been making dinner b/c of it. I have no healthy options for you, so if you need that in your life, look away. But, I've been eating a lot of ramen noodles and easy mac b/c they're both odorless and carb heavy (which is about all I can stomach). Cereal was a good option for a bit. Also pop tarts. We had Stouffers Grandma's Chicken and Rice Casserole last night and it was relatively odorless. We cooked it in the microwave b/c, 18mins or 85 mins... we went with 18 so I didn't die of nausea while waiting :D Fruit and yogurt parfaits are pretty good too.

All I want in my life is protein shakes. I love my Premier Protein shakes but they eff me all up.... I assume b/c my stomach is empty and I don't have the hunger signal to let me know it... so I get nauseous. If that isn't the case for you, I would definitely get those. 30ish grams of protein so they function well as a meal replacement and were what I was having for breakfast every morning for years... until now.
  • Also, my coworker brought in donuts and the apple fritter was still warm. I feel like it's bringing me back to life :D
  • @blaf322 oh I love me a good apple fritter!
  • @blaf322 that sounds so delicious right now!
  • I broke down last week and bought Captain Crunch.  I'd previously bought Honey Nut Cheerios.  I have to do better on the sugar but it sounded good and didn't make my stomach more upset.
  • @bluguitarhannah omg now I need some Captain Crunch in my life!
  • I'm glad I'm not alone in my cereal kick! I've been having a bowl of quaker oatmeal squares and the crunchiness is so great. I think I did the same with my last pregnancy. At any other time I don't like cereal. Other than cereal I'm with @blaf322 it's all comfort carbs. Someone was talking about Wendy's the other day, maybe I'll go to Wendy's...
  • @blaf322 I’m pretty sure I had ramen noodles 3 days in a row for lunch because it was all I could stomach lol I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ve also been loving protein shakes! It makes me feel like I’m getting something healthy. I mix mine with PB, this organic cacao powder, a banana, some water and lots of ice. It’s like a chocolate shake only not too chocolaty because my stomach can’t handle that right now!

Also, I’m going to need some captain crunch as well!

    My random for today...
I pulled up to Tuesday morning this morning and I didn’t realize there was still 15 minutes until they opened so we walk back to the car and my 3 year old goes...”Come on people 🤦🏻‍♀️ (Actually puts her hand to her face) We want to shop!” 😂🤣 We are in trouble lol

  • @meanjellybean I went on a cereal kick with DD too... and I remember a lot of others on my BMB did too. There must be something about the cold milk and crunchy cereal that you crave while pg
  • So many great cereal options! I’ll need to go grocery shopping again. With my last pregnancy I always had a stash of oatmeal crisp in my desk at work.

its lunch time for me and I’m actually feeling decent today. I need to make a healthy lunch choice but damnn fast food sounds good!

also, I broke down yesterday and told my boss I’m pregnant. She’s super excited so me, but now I feel zero desire to work until 2nd tri
  • I've been craving an italian sub. Never thought I'd be sad about deli meats being off limits.
  • @hbird0723 The best pregnancy craving I've had so far has been ramen noodles and it was amazing.

I'm eating sushi tonight for a work things and I've preordered lots of cooked things but may have a bite of a salmon roll because like...it's probably fine. Right? Yay/nay?
  • @pocketrose as long as you feel comfortable with the source. If it's fresh sushi, the biggest concern is parasites.... which is a concern even if you're not pg. Choose low mercury options and I think it's totally acceptable to eat sushi.

I would avoid pre-made stuff like at grocery stores, just FYI. Those are more likely to end up growing listeria (like the TJ's sushi recall that happened not too long ago).

Is a food TW a thing? If so, people who are meat averse, *food tw* I have been craving non-poultry meat for days but when it comes time to cook the idea makes me nauseous. Today I went out to lunch at an amazing Mexican restaurant with my boss and got pork enchiladas and it was SO good. *End food TW* Probably back to cereal for dinner tonight lol

Yessss to the Ramen.  My 4 year old loves it, too.  So we share a packet everyday he doesn’t have school.  It’s so good and salty.  Salty foods seems to help me out.

I threw up while driving today.  I only had a reusable grocery tote so that was disgusting.  I remember I had the nausea for 16 weeks with my last child.  Hopefully it ends soon.

Until then maybe I need to cruise the cereal aisle 🤔

  • I’m also on the cereal, smoothie and salty / ramen noodle / carb loading diet over here.
I decided to branch out a tiny bit today and made turkey & Muenster cheese quesadillas on spinach & kale tortillas for my toddler and I. Hit the spot!
Wasn't even nauseous UNTIL some nasty feral cat dragged a squirrel into my yard and went all National Geographic on it. Then, I finally 🤮
  • What are your thoughts on toasted subway sandwiches? I’ve eaten 2 chicken teriyaki subs over the past week or so, and they’re hitting the spot
  • @blaf322 It's a pretty reputable spot so I'll probably be ok, will assess when it gets here (here being my office, long night ahead of working but the second to last long one of 2019 so that's a positive).

  • I just bought a box of cinnamon toast cereal, and while looking for it, I saw they had a churro edition, of course I bought the 2 of them

speaking of food... I just realize that buffalo sauce is my recently discovered aversion, I just can't even the smell... :disappointed:
  • Yaaaas to Raisin Bran.  Usually it's rare if I eat a bowl of cereal a month, but I've had Raisin Bran like 5 times this week.
    Current pregnancy -
First BFP on 1/4/22.  Due date 9/13/22.

Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.

  • @mayisch Is the churro edition good?
  • @magnolia305 I've had the churro kind... I feel like it's good for straight out of the bag snacking lol (judge me all you want for that lol)
  • @magnolia305 I just had it for dinner last night and I love it...

but also I pictured that as a topping on vanilla ice cream, you could dip the mini churro in that and add chocolate syrup on top of it.... just saying
  • +1 to eating all the cereal lately

Also, hurray, I finally got this app to work! I had to reset my password but it still wasn’t letting me like or post anything. I had to log in over and over, but it seems like it’s working. FX

  • Honey but Cheerios over here! But will definitely be buying some rains in bran next time at the store. That sounds wonderful. And I’m in the same boat for ramen, some tomato and basil soup has been high on my list. Generally I can get good foods in for breakfast and early lunch. But after noon hits. Aversions and nausea say no way to much more than the before mentioned. I also picked up some premier protein shakes. They used to be my jam when I first started working out over a year ago and am so thankful life them these days.
  • @coffeeandcookies84 I'm on a Facebook group for babies due in July and they have been talking Subway I feel for weeks. Coincidentally enough I have eaten Subway more times recently than in previous years combined. I get the cold cut combo but ask for it toasted but most of the time I feel it's just warmed up more than actually cooked but I'm fine with it too.
