Sweet @kpearse99 I am so so sorry, friend. I want this for you so badly, and I'm thinking of you today and rooting for you always.
me: 35 / so: 34 | ttc #1 since 9/2018
DX: MFI IVF Cycle #1 February 2020 4 embryos frozen, 1 fresh transfer = CP FET #1 Natural Cycle March 2020 CXL'd due to Covid-19 FET #1 Natural Cycle June 2020 - CP #2 FET #2 Natural Cycle July 2020 - BFP!!!!!! Beta #1 = 273
@kpearse99 I do also value time to take it easy. I always feel like my clinic does everything so drawn out. Like start to finish for a FET is always an 8 week process or so and while I feel I get left behind compared to some ladies who jump right into meds again for their next FET/Cycle, I appreciate the downtime of being on BC for a little while. I remember thinking it was forever between my egg retrieval and my first FET. While it sucked being in BC for like 45 days, that did allow us to just enjoy the summer without dealing with appointment after appointment.
I think you gotta do what your heart tells you in the moment. ❤️❤️❤️

@kpearse99 so many hugs to you, friend. I was hoping you get the opposite news.
If you are in town, I agreed with @inthewoods23. If you can do a get away trip with YH, that would be a good “reset” too . I scheduled a vacation in January just so if this and next IUI cycle fail for me, I can take a month off without feeling that I might have “wasted” a month.
@kpearse99 So many hugs to you, friend. This is all so unfair. Hoping that you can make a plan that you feel good about at your next appointment. Whatever you decide to do until then will be the right decision for you. Take care of yourself

*Lurking* sending you lots of love and gentle hugs @kpearse99 Take whatever time you need. Only you know what's best for your family. You've been fighting hard for this, and it is exhausting. We're all rooting for you and we're here to support you no matter what.
@kiki047 thanks lady!! I’m so glad you have 4 embryos that are growing nicely! Everything crossed for you and those 4 embies!!
@inthewoods23 thanks lady! Haha...oh, I’ll still be doing most of the cooking, but we usually meal plan together so it is somewhat of a team effort!
@littlebug2010 thank you! I hope you get your results soon and get some peace of mind! The not knowing can be very frustrating!
@kpearse99 sending so many hugs your way, friend!! 💜💜💜 This sucks!! Could you possibly do a hybrid...medicated (and maybe even trigger) but not full out with IUI, so you will stay regular but you can take a bit of a break from everything but still have a chance next cycle? I understand if you want to take a break completely though...it’s definitely a tough decision! I hope you and YH can decide what is best for you!!
@kpearse99 I am so, so sorry, my friend. 💚 I hope you can do something nice for yourself this week. I hear you on feeling tired of trying. So many hugs.
*back later with more tags* Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained IF, unexplained RPL, possible luteal phase defect/low progesterone
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW I assume. Temp was up for 3rd day in a row.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Letrozole, trigger, progesterone post-O
How are things going?: Meh. I am just so tired of this. I O'ed much earlier than I usually do which makes me wonder how mature the egg was. I shouldn't panic though since they were monitoring me. Not feeling very optimistic because nothing has worked so far. I don't feel like this time will be different and since the universe likes to kick me in the gut repeatedly.
Any questions?: Nah.
GTKY: Tell us about something you’ve broken. Hmm...my friend gave us really cute glasses as a housewarming gift and we only have one left that we haven't broken.
@kpearse99 I’m so sorry about the news today. As for the tampons, I would wait a little until it’s all discharged. I noticed that when mine wasn’t cleaned out, I got uncomfortable down there. But once you don’t notice it coming out and can’t scoop more out, then I’d say you’re good. Again, so sorry for the news today ❤️
Hey ladies, I'm joining back in here, while we get to the bottom of everything. Quick synopsis - dr's thought I had lupus. Went looking for another cause for "lupus like symptoms" found a hole in my heart, on aspirin, everything is great - Except unexplained RPL, wonky immune system results, and no THB yet. So we're moving forward with more testing. DH called and made an appointment with a specialist on Thursday, but I need to move a client to go. FX!
@kpearse99 I'm sorry for the disappointing news today.
@pom9207 good luck this cycle! Halfway through the TWW!
@inthewoods23 I’m glad your new little guys are settling right in at home. They are sooo adorable!!
@mvt2003 that’s so cool that your RE asked you that - I had a doctor asked me that once and it was the best compliment! I’m glad your appointment went well and that you have a great plan!
@kiki047 I’ve been thinking about you! That’s a wonderful update. I’m glad you are feeling relieved and I can’t wait for the next report ❤️
@littlebug2010 I hope you get the results soon so that no matter what you hear you can get started on a plan
@kpearse99 I am so so sorry, my friend. You know I’m always rooting for you and I am here for you! I agree with everyone that whatever you decide to do for this cycle will be the right decision, but I was going to suggest the same as @bluetickgal so I will just ditto her comment. Sending love your way❤️❤️
@emeraldduchess I’m sorry this cycle has been such a cluster. I hope this TWW goes by quickly for you and I especially hope that this is it for you and you are able to look back on this aggravation fondly!
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched/waiting to schedule surgery
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Going back and forth with the RE office 85 times to get info.
How are things going?: The RE office was going to call me today after the supervising physician reviewed the images from the HSG. The PA that I see wanted her to look at it because of the comment in the report about endometrial hyperplasia. The PA thought they wouldn’t be able to tell that from the HSG, but wanted to get the RE’s thoughts. Instead I just got a message that the RE reviewed the images and to go ahead and schedule the surgery. So I guess they discussed their thoughts but are not bothering to share with me. I wrote back and asked what the RE’s thoughts were but of course I haven’t heard back. The surgery scheduler was out today so I wasn’t able to schedule that yet either. Not much of an update here.
Any questions? I asked one of the TTGP grads who lives in my city what RE office she went to and it was the same one, she had a much better experience so I think I really just need to switch to a different provider within the office.
GTKY: I’ve never broken a bone, but I’ve broken lots of other things. I’m a klutz. The one that stands out most in my mind is that my grandma gave me a set of champagne glasses that she has had for years. I set one a little too close to a hot pan on NYE one year and it shattered. I was so upset, but I know she wants me to use the things she gives me so I try not to beat myself up too much. My grandma gave an identical set to my brother’s wife and I’m trying to find a way to get my hands on them!
@bows22 ugh, that is SO frustrating. They absolutely need to be talking to you about YOUR body. I am so sorry it's playing out like this. I hope you can easily switch to a different provider and that they're better at communicating.
I’m sorry I ghosted yesterday! Gonna have to do it again this morning but I’ll get back for tags later.
9dpo and temp is still above 98... great signs, BUT my beta isn’t until 15 dpo! I emailed the nurse to see if they can move it earlier, but I know my trigger shot will be in my system until at least 12-13 dpo if it’s like the last two cycles. DH has his SA again today. He has a 10 day hold so we are hoping that gets us the bad results we may need.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@kpearse99 IF SUCKS! So sorry for your negative. I hope you treat yourself with lots of tlc.
@nitnat007 Yay for a smooth transfer! GL with the TWW! When is your beta?
Back for more tags later.
Diagnosis (if you've been): I think at this point we are just chalking it up to AMA (egg quality?) and chronic endo
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): letrozole, PNV, ABX, CoQ10, Low dose aspirin, Vitamin D, Folate
How are things going?: This cycle and last cycle have been a week longer than my normal, not good for egg quality, so I worry. I have an ultrasound tomorrow to check on progress of the letrozole. In the meantime I have had work dinners and holiday parties coming up where colleagues are asking if I am KU because I am not drinking because of the ABX. Such a fun question.
Any questions?: Nope.
GTKY: Tell us about something you’ve broken. No broken bones, but I am super klutzy. I gave myself 2nd and 3rd degree burns all down my legs years ago when I accidentally dropped a pan of hot oil. And of course have broken more things than I can remember.
@kpearse99 - I'm not sure on the tampons... I use a diva cup, and when I finally got my period after the crinone gel (this is really gross sorry - there was a lot of chunky white goop in my cup for the first two days) that I don't think that would come out properly with a tampon inserted. I would probably use a pad for the first two days or so to make sure it all comes out - or switch to a menstrual cup (which I highly recommend).
@kpearse99 I have no words, just hugs. I'm so so sorry It's so unfair. @the_road_to_oz welcome back! Hopefully you're able to move that appt so you can meet with the specialist. @bows22 that is so frustrating that they won't tell you anything. Seem to be a common trend in the healthcare industry as a whole. Also, I hope you find a way to get that set of champagne flutes off your SIL lol. @NYTino24 I totally forgot you needed another bad SA to move forward so I kinda choked/laughed at your 10 day hold comment. I'm curious how a 10 day hold would differ from like a 0 day hold (meaning maybe he 'empties the tank' the night before). I hope this gives you the result you need! and FX those high temps are a good sign!!!!
Thank you ladies for all the encouragement! This part is so nervewracking. Is it weird that the nurse called from my RE's office to ask me how things went on Friday? Like, shouldn't my RE know? She asked me yesterday how many eggs they got. Our embryologist works out of the main clinic and my RE has his own office that's closer to us but uhh shouldn't they know these things?
TTC History:
Me: 36 MH: 39, TTC since Dec 2017
Aug '18: PCOS dx
Nov '18: MH SA - 19mil
Dec '18-Mar '19: Letrozole + TI - all BFN
Apr '19: Letrozole + TI, - BFN. Repeat SA (27mil) & DNA fragmentation test (17%)
@kiki047 it's a little weird with an ER but when I did the hysteroscopy and polypectomy they called the next day to see how I was feeling and to get feedback on how I felt everything went. So maybe the nurse's question wasn't so much that they didn't know, but more to see how the day went for you and to gauge how you're feeling?? 🤷♀️
But I'm totally with you being like "uhhh shouldn't you know?" though, in a funny way.

@NYTino24 YH is a total rockstar! A TEN day hold is amazing! MH gets cranky about a 5 day hold!!
@kiki047 I feel like miscommunications are standard - for example, there was a sign up at my RE's office yesterday (it's the main surgical center for the state) that they're renovating and all procedures will be done out of another office between December and April. MH asked the nurse about it yesterday and she had no idea. I was like ummm?

@emeraldduchess I’m so sorry you are feeling discouraged and like this cycle won’t be any different! I hate that this process can make us all so jaded! Sending hugs & positive vibes your way! 💜 Fingers crossed so hard for you!! @the_road_to_oz welcome back! Hope all goes well with YH’s appt on Thursday and that you are able to go with him!
@bows22 I’m so sorry that after all that back & forth you still weren’t told everything that you should have been! I hope they get back with you today, and that you will be able to schedule your surgery today as well! Fingers crossed switching providers will be easy and well worth it!!
@NYTino24 fingers crossed your high temp is a great sign!! Seems weird to hope the SA results are bad, but I really hope they are...but better yet, I hope you don’t even need those results at all!
@ramzlau hope your US goes well tomorrow and shows good results! Ugh, why can’t people keep their nosey questions to themselves?!
@kiki047 I’d say they were just being friendly/thorough by asking how it all went...but that does seem a bit odd that they wouldn’t know your counts!
I will come back for tags. I'm so far behind already !
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, blocked tube
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): taking a break
How are things going?: Pretty terrible. I was supposed to have my beta tomorrow, but instead, I started CD1 yesterday. So that was a 22 day cycle. WTF?! I'm almost more upset that my cycle was so short than I am that IUI #2 didn't work. MH and I decided to take this cycle off, for mental health and financial reasons.
Any questions?: not right now
GTKY: Tell us about something you’ve broken. I haven't ever broken a bone, but I've had 2 back surgeries, so I guess you could say my back is pretty broken!
@kpearse99 I am sorry you didn’t get good news. I have been starting the first two days of AF with a pad and then adding a tampon on the second day. I feel like that area is bugged so much internally and I stop my progesterone a day or two before AF comes so it gets a couple of days to get rid of the residue. @kiki047 I do think that’s weird - shouldn’t she have access to your records? As for DH,
it was 9 days between the IUI and SA with no “action” in between. It was 7 days the other time he “failed” and he insisted on doing a long wait again because it “worked” last time (although he was being macho and dumb by not listening to me or knowing anything about how sperm works and wanting to wait long so his sperm was “better” than following the 2-5 days they ask for - so those results were accidental.) It could make the difference on whether we get approved for IVF or not and / or about $5,000 for ICSI being covered or not.
@shoogapoff I’m so sad for you. I hope the break helps and that you get to enjoy some time without all of the pressure. This sucks. @mvt2003 His friggin 9 day (I was off by a day) hold was NORMAL. He told them it was 5 days too! They want to do another and said if we wait less than two weeks that maybe he can fail. They actually put that in writing. Friggin guy’s ego re: sperm is already more than confident and this only adds to it / makes me feel worse that it has to be my eggs / body that are the issue.
They can only move the beta back one day, so I said forget it. I really hope this cycle works out... in SS news, I got a bit dizzy today and felt like I was swaying a bit until I had a snack at the end of the day. Could also be the uncontrollable heat in the building and bad behavior two days in a row making me nuts.
...back for more tags once I’m home.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Good grief @NYTino24 I cannot believe he passed with a 10 day hold! That is mind boggling! I’m so so sorry, and I hope the no-hold plan works!

Hi! I’m new here. Just did my intro post. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Diagnosis (if you've been): Unexplained
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Had negative beta this morning after 4th IUI, stopping prometrium and waiting for AF
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Taking a quick break so I can travel for Xmas and get financial stuff in order and all decisions made for IVF which I’ll start after my next AF
How are things going?: Sad about my beta, but it didn’t come as a surprise since I didn’t feel remotely pregnant (and tested on Sunday). I think I knew that IUI just wasn’t going to work after the first failed cycle.
Any questions?: for those doing IVF, how did you decide about PGTa/PGS testing? My doctor said it isn’t clinically recommended given my age (33), but I have friends who did IVF younger and did testing.
GTKY: Tell us about something you’ve broken. Broke my elbow in middle school as a gymnast...has never been quite the same!
@ramzlau ugh I’m sorry you are going to have people watching your drinking. I’ve been guilty of that in the past and it makes me cringe now. GL at your ultrasound tomorrow!
@shoogapoff oh no, I’m so sorry. Sending hugs your way ❤️❤️
AFM, another vague non-answer in response to my question today. I sent another one but haven’t heard back. It’s starting to make me spiral like they are purposely doing this to avoid scaring me, but that scares me more. I also haven’t heard back from the surgery scheduler. I probably won’t be around for the rest of the week - we are leaving for vacation tomorrow! This couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m sure I’ll lurk some but am going to mostly try to unplug. I’ll be back at it on Monday!
@inthewoods23 count down to the biopsy! Those spikey boys are soooo cute. I am jealous!
@kiki047 I broke the coffee table by dragging the base, without realizing that it’s totally not secured to the glass top...
@emeraldduchess sorry that you are not feeling super hopeful about the cycle. But yay for temp staying high! Some good signs here.
@bows22 ugh the RE office can do better! They have to know that sharing the testing results & give explanations to patients is as important as treating us. And enjoy your vacay! It’s well deserved!
@ramzlau the question at holiday party... I purposely offer my colleagues a ride, just so I could have an excuse to not drink 😳
@shoogapoff sorry about CD1 taking a cycle off is a good idea! Let the mind (and ovaries) take a rest from medicated IUIs.
@buffythevampireslayer sorry about the negative beta. I am planning on doing IVF beginning next year too, and I am thinking about doing PGS testing because the clinic we are going to highly recommend frozen embryo transfer, especially for Asian and African American women. If we do a FET then we would need to wait for at least one cycle anyways, during which time we can get the results of PGS.
AFM, BFN today on 11dpo. Kinda expected, as I am already so numb after months of months of failures. I am more sad when I saw one of my husband’s friend got married, and people are commenting on their wedding photos saying “hope you get a baby soon”. It’s a common saying to newly wed among Chinese, and does not meant to be offensive to the couple or anyone else. But I am just very very sad seeing those comments. Me and MH are married for 3.5 years now, still trying #1. Maybe we are already weirdos in our friends mind.
@bows22 Can you call? Sometimes you get better answers on the phone. @pom9207 I’m sorry for the BFN. This process can be so grueling. @buffythevampireslayer If we get to IVF, we will do the testing because I’ll be almost 37 and *TW have had 3 losses. */TW* @the_road_to_oz Did you have a high lupus anticoagulant? What’s the plan with your heart?
PS 10 dpo temp drop of .3 and last night I felt something like what cervix dilation usually feels like sooo, shit. Can’t take a test for another 2-3 days...
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@NYTino24 you can only leave a voicemail when you call and they have only actually called me back once, the other times they send me a message with the subject “your phone call” 🙄 I know they are really busy but it definitely makes you feel like a number. I hope the temp drop means nothing!
@pom9207 sorry to hear you will also be doing IVF. I have heard that FET often has better success rates so I think we are potentially going that route as well.
@NYTino24 I hope you don't get to that point! GL with this cycle!
@buffythevampireslayer I don't have IVF knowledge but I wanted to say welcome! I'm sorry you have found yourself in the IF thread but we are a great group of women and are the most supportive.
Thank you all so much for the kind words and the support. It always amazes me how we can put our stuff aside for a few moments and lend a hand and a creepy internet hug to everyone else on here that needs it. You really are some of the strongest women I know. I feel more numb than I did last month. I'm just losing the will to want to keep going and I don't want that to happen. I somehow need to find the drive to keep trying. I will, I guess I just need more time. Thankfully I probably still have a few days before AF arrives to get my head back in the game.
@bows22 and @bluetickgal I thought about doing a half and half cycle (medicated but not full blown IUI) and I just feel like if we are going to attempt and TTC this month we minus well do the IUI for our best chances, you know?
@bows22 Have an amazing trip, my dear friend!!! Send us pictures of sunny beaches!
@shoogapoff I am so sorry that AF arrived and even more sorry that she arrived so soon after the IUI. Did the RE say why that might have been? Were you on progesterone? And if not, can you go on it - as that should lengthen your LP more. I'm so sorry, my friend - I'm right there with you feeling all the feels.
@NYTino24 I'm sorry for the temp drop. I want this to happen so badly for all of us, it's just not fair and it sucks so damn much.
@kiki047 How are you doing today? I feel like all you, all any of us, can do is take it one day at a time... so how are you today?!

@NYTino24 - ughh sorry the plan didn't work out! Are you going to try a no hold one? Like maybe the DTD the night before and the morning of so there's nothing left?
@buffythevampireslayer - We did not do PGS testing because our insurance doesn't cover it and my doctor didn't recommend it - because we have no history of losses [or pregnancies]. I kind of wish we did though, because my fresh transfer didn't work and now I have 8 frozen embryos and we don't know if they're normal or not (and because of my age, my doctor will only transfer one at a time).
@feather_heather apparently it wasn't recommended by my doctor as well in part because insurance doesn't cover it before age 36, but we are self pay for the whole thing so that part doesn't matter to us (though it is of course more money). Can you do testing on the frozen ones now? I asked my doctor if I could do a fresh transfer and then if it doesn't work out, do testing on the remaining frozen embryos.
@shoogapoff Im so sorry. As much as taking time off, DH and I found it really helpful when we were in the thick of it over the summer. Sending you love.
@buffythevampireslayer If we get to the point of IVF (not sure we will, but testing will only tell) we will be doing testing. RPL is our diagnosis, and going without the testing is not ideal. Im only 31, but I think the age doesnt always mean you should/nt do testing, at least according to my RE.

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
@buffythevampireslayer I probably could have opted out of doing PGS testing if I wanted to, but it's kind of just a standard part of my clinic's protocol (all OOP too). And I'm sure part of that is so that they get the best success rates. I'm only 30 but I'd rather know we're transferring good embryos than just hoping they're all good. We had 6 blasts and only 1 was found to be abnormal. My first FET back in September failed so now I'm in the process of other testing to see if it failed due to inflammation/mild endo or if the timing of the transfer needs to be adjusted. My RE says all our embryos are of quality that should result in a pregnancy so now it's just figuring out how to make it work
@bows22 enjoy your vacation! Sounds like you seriously need it!
@NYTino24 my goodness how does a 9 day hold result in normal?? Hope that temp drop means something possibly good!
@shoogapoff ugh, what a ride awakening from AF showing before beta. That really sucks!
@ramzlau I've gotten that question too at my work holiday party. So annoying. The first year I think I was honest that I gave up alcohol and now I'm using the excuse of "I'd rather just have a soda than alcohol" because ugh, still here never KU.

@buffythevampireslayer - I've read that it's possible, but all of the embyros would need to be thawed, then biopsied, then re-frozen, and then need to survive another thaw once we want to use them. I read that all that thawing and re-freezing can be detrimental to the embyro; so to me it's not worth the risk. If we end up going thru all 8 frozen embryos and do another ER, then we said we'd pay oop for the PGS testing for piece of mind.
I'm pretty sure some of you have mentioned that YH have taken supplements to help increase their sperm count. What was it that they took? I am concerned, and I know MH is too even though he won't talk about it, with the fact that his count has been cut in half with each IUI (40mil to 20mil to 10mil this last time). So I want to have some things to talk about with the RE but I don't know really know where to start other than get the advice of you fabulous ladies that have done this too.

@littlebug2010 Thank you for sharing - that is super helpful. I think I'm leaning more toward getting the testing done even if it isn't her clinical recommendation based on my age.
@inthewoods23 sorry to hear that your first FET didn't stick and good luck for your next one! I definitely agree that knowing they are healthy provides peace of mind and if we are already going through everything else this entails, why not the extra step? At this point, I'm just waiting for the financial info re: how much it actually costs for the testing element.
@feather_heather thank you for sharing, and I agree, it doesn't seem worth the risk to wait just to do it later. I also heard back from my coordinator that it is possible to do the thaw/biopsy but there are different financial implications, and when they thaw/biopsy later I would get put on a waitlist where they work it into the active cycling schedule, so it can take another 2-3 weeks depending on lab volume.
@kpearse99 MH basically takes a multivitamin pack from GNC - all of our specialists are not particular about which one he takes, as long as it does not contain testosterone. That's basically the one thing you want to make sure he does not take, as it actually shuts down normal T production. I know FertilAid is also an option, but it was not specifically recommended to us personally.

Oh @kpearse99 I'm so sorry! So many hugs friend
@kiki047 that's great news about your embryos!
*back later with more tags*
Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained IF, unexplained RPL, possible luteal phase defect/low progesterone
Quick synopsis - dr's thought I had lupus. Went looking for another cause for "lupus like symptoms" found a hole in my heart, on aspirin, everything is great -
Except unexplained RPL, wonky immune system results, and no THB yet. So we're moving forward with more testing. DH called and made an appointment with a specialist on Thursday, but I need to move a client to go. FX!
@kpearse99 I'm sorry for the disappointing news today.

AMA, ITP in pregnancy, vWD type II - low Factor VIII, unexplained RPL and secondary infertility

I'm almost more upset that my cycle was so short than I am that IUI #2 didn't work. MH and I decided to take this cycle off, for mental health and financial reasons.
Any questions?: not right now
GTKY: Tell us about something you’ve broken. I haven't ever broken a bone, but I've had 2 back surgeries, so I guess you could say my back is pretty broken!
@kiki047 I do think that’s weird - shouldn’t she have access to your records? As for DH,
@mvt2003 His friggin 9 day (I was off by a day) hold was NORMAL.

@shoogapoff sorry about CD1

@NYTino24 you can only leave a voicemail when you call and they have only actually called me back once, the other times they send me a message with the subject “your phone call” 🙄 I know they are really busy but it definitely makes you feel like a number. I hope the temp drop means nothing!
@NYTino24 I hope you don't get to that point! GL with this cycle!
