How did I find out: I had symptoms for weeks! Sore boobs, food aversions, stomach ache, fatigue, and dizziness. Everyone kept asking if I was pregnant and I kept saying no. Oh, I had brown discharge for 2 days. (Implantation bleeding) On the second day it was a bit pinkish so I thought it was my period, but then it stopped. Enough was enough, I found myself on the floor in the worst of pain when my husband decided to text out nurse practitioner friend who suggested we take a test. I told her that I wasn’t for for a few days and she insisted! We got the test, I was sure it was gonna be negative but it quickly turned into 2 lines. I was so shocked that I waited the recommended 3 minutes and of course nothing changed!!!
Job: Student

If you have a generic user name that The Bump saddled you with because you previously used The Knot, then we have a request for you.
It's already tough to remember everyone's names, especially in the beginning. But is nearly impossible with folks still using the generic Knottie user name. We can't tell you apart from any of the others with a similar name, so engaging with you, responding to you, and helping you will be more difficult for others (which I've found means your posts/replies are more likely to go unread).
We WANT to get to know you, so please take a quick minute to change you're username to something unique! (We strongly suggest not using first or last name for privacy/security).
***This also goes for people still using the generic Bump profile pic! 🙂 I will remember you so much better if I have a picture to associate with you! It doesn’t have to be a picture of you! It can be anything! Your dog, or an orange heart, or even a generic pic of a flamingo that you got from google! Anything that is unique, that no one else on here has!***
Due Date: August 3rd, but waiting for ultrasound for confirmation since I got pregnant after missing 2 pills... I think it may be a little earlier.
How did you find out?: I took a test 3 days before period was due because I was cramping but without a period - and no other PMS signs I usually get after going on the placebo pills. Weird cramping was the only sign with my first too!
Due date? As of now aug 14. But there’s a chance I’m further along OR ovulated like crazy early because I was getting super positives 6DPO so there’s a chance I was pregnant last month and just had light bleeding which I assumed was aunt flow. How did you find out? Took a test then my husband ran into the bathroom and I had to bust in to see the test and saw a super dark positive!!
Job? Registered Nurse
Hobbies? I listen to books on tape while driving to work and I love movies. I have a toddler so I really don’t get to have hobbies haha.
Other children/pregnancies? One son, 21 months. Had a mc before him at 9 weeks so I basically am nervous until 14 weeks comes and will finally relax once the baby is here.

How did you find out: I didn’t have my normal pre period symptoms so I tested the day before Thanksgiving, which was two days before my missed period and it was negative🤦🏽♀️ My expected period was 11/30 but of course it never came and then 12/2, I retested and it was positive!!Imagine my surprise!!

Due Date: August 1st! I have an ultrasound next week to make sure that’s the correct date 🙂
How did you find out?: We hadn’t really been trying, but also not not trying (hope that makes sense haha). It was a very happy surprise though!

How did you find out?: After being sure I was out this month (crampy for days and days, mood swings, super emotional) and thinking AF was going to arrive, I took a test the morning before my period was due totally expecting it to be negative. Well, it wasn’t! I didn’t trust the first test so took a digital and when that was positive, I finally started to trust it. DH got home a few hours later, and I absolutely loved getting to tell him. I just found out yesterday!

Due Date: I have no clue!! My cycle has been all over the place since I stopped breastfeeding so if I base it off my last period it would be way too far ahead than what I am. I will hopefully figure out a due date at my ultrasound appointment. I’m thinking mid August?

Due date: August 5th
How you found out: We weren’t trying but we weren’t preventing, however I do track my periods with an app... I was getting close to my period, but something felt different/off, and my normal signs weren’t there. I picked up some pregnancy tests just in case. I was supposed to get my period the day before Thanksgiving and wanted to wait for Thursday to test, but I was too anxious and took it the day before, and there it was! That second pink line and no period! I was almost late to work - I showed my husband and we were both so happy and a little shocked. We didn’t expect to get pregnant right away!
Job: I’m a communications director and an educator in San Francisco.
Hobbies: I knit, and I’m really excited to make some cute things for the baby.
Spouse: My husband is in SaaS and mostly works from home, which is fine when I’m in the office and complicated when we’re both working from home and on calls, lol! He’s such a great uncle, and I know he will be a great dad, too!
But for real, we got KU with our first in November after 6 cycles. Got KU with our second in November after 11 cycles. We knew we wanted a third and decided to just not use protection in November, sort of as a joke knowing we don’t get pregnant super easily - boom first time. Now I’m convinced I can only get KU in November. 😳😂

Hi, everyone! Due date? 8/17 based on period, but it could be later since I tend to ovulate late.
How did you find out? I've always been more tempted to test on the weekends because if one ever was positive, I wanted to be able to enjoy the news rather than go right to work. On Saturday morning, I woke up from a bunch of vivid dreams and felt a bit disoriented remembering them all. In one, I dreamed I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. Then I woke up, looked at my calendar, and tried to talk myself out of testing because it was still early (~9 dpo?). But I have so many extra FRER tests because they come as bonuses in my OPK boxes, so I figured I might as well use them. I took it and left it and honestly forgot about it for like 10 minutes because I figured it would be negative anyway. But when I came back to check, I saw a faint second line and, like many of you, screamed vaguely in the direction of my husband, "IS THIS A LINE?!?!" He, of course, had no context because he didn't even know I was testing. He came in very confused. Anyway, he was a little skeptical about the faint line, so we didn't really celebrate it until Monday when I took another positive test that required no squinting whatsoever.
Job? Teacher
Hobbies? Honestly not much during the school year. Work is always insanely busy and draining. When I have more free time, I like to read, cook, draw and paint, play board games, organize the house, practice calligraphy, shop, and write.
Other children/pregnancies? No, this is our first!
Pets? Two dogs, both lab mixes with very different personalities
Spouse? He's the best!
Anything else interesting? Probably not interesting, but here's some background: We have been trying since April and I got a PCOS diagnosis in September. November was our first month on Clomid, and I feel so thankful that it worked for us! I'm trying to take each day as it comes and celebrate them all. But sometimes I get nervous about the added risks PCOS brings. I think I'll feel better after my first "real" doctor's appointment which feels like it's forever away! In the meantime, just blood work this week to make sure HcG levels are doubling in a 48 hr period.
Its crazy. I just peed on a stick and got a bfp! This is my 5th pregnancy. I'm 28 and live in Texas. I'm a sahm to a 12 year old and almost 5 year old. My last pregnancy didn't end well so I'm completely terrified but excited.
Really hoping for the best. Glad to be in August 2020 with you ladies!
Sorry was so excited I didn't read the original post before posting.

Due date? 8/4
How did you find out? I was on a solo vacation in Mexico when I realized my period was late. I decided to try to put it out of my mind and wait until I got home before taking a test, however my cycle is kind of unpredictable so I didn't think it was likely I was pregnant. I was about 10-11 days late by the time I finally took the test. I was told last year that my ovarian reserve was incredibly low, so even though this wasn't planned, I'm definitely excited because I've always wanted to be a mom. Job? Conference and event planner

Other children/pregnancies? This is my first!

Anything else interesting? My baby is due on my 35th birthday (and I'll deliver at the hospital where I was born)! I travel A LOT for work, so I'll be interested to see how long I'm allowed to travel for and how that will impact my work before I go out on leave.
Looking forward to going through this with all of you!
How did you find out?: I went through a phase of taking a test even though I knew I wasn’t pregnant. So I finally stopped doing that and about a month later I had a feeling something was different. So I decided to take a test instead of see if my period would come the next day! Turns out my feeling was correct!

Well, it wasn’t! I didn’t trust the first test so took a digital and when that was positive, I finally started to trust it. DH got home a few hours later, and I absolutely loved getting to tell him.

Anything else interesting?
Probably not interesting, but here's some background:
We have been trying since April and I got a PCOS diagnosis in September.

How did you find out?:
I went through a phase of taking a test even though I knew I wasn’t pregnant. So I finally stopped doing that and about a month later I had a feeling something was different. So I decided to take a test instead of see if my period would come the next day! Turns out my feeling was correct!

Anything else interesting Like I said earlier, we didn't think this was even possible. We tried for years when we first got married and it never happened. Now after 9 years we're pregnant with our first...I'm going to be 39 when the baby is born and that's scary for me. I'm super paranoid, but trying not to be for baby's sake...I'll feel a little better when I see a sonogram, etc.
I am SO excited to be here!

Spouse: He's awesome and we've been married for almost 10 years.
Anything else interesting:
Due to having 3 children I'm trying to change jobs at the end of the school year. I'm hoping to get a job teaching math online from home, so fingers crossed. My other option is to transfer and teach at my son's elementary school. It's not ideal as I'm not super in love with the elementary level but I'd do it in a heartbeat if it would make my kids happier.
