Ok, I'll start with a silly one, it's a quirk I have. DH thinks it's weird but he's used to it. I name all the wild animals that hang out in my yard. The bunnies are Victoria and Albert. The deer are Sharon, Camilla and Stacey. I don't name the squirrels though, there are too many. 🤣
@emeraldduchess we have a millipede that lives in our basement that I don’t have the heart to kill, I’ve named him Cedric! 😂

Ok I’ve been thinking this one for awhile but wasn’t sure I’d ever admit it here, but here goes: It annoys me when I have to tag members here that have an underscore or dash in their name.😳😬 I LOVE y’all, but every time I have to toggle the keys on my phone to make the dash show up, then change it to an underscore, it irks me just the tiniest bit. This is also because I’m often on a flight w no WiFi, so I load the TB page before we take off and add my comments offline, then post once the plane lands & reconnects to WiFi. All that time writing comments offline I’m trying to remember people’s SNs & it’s hardest to remember who has an underscore or dash & where it appears in their name.
Maybe this is a UO too, but idk why I have such an annoyance towards the use of the word mommas on TB.

I guess in this context it seems a little childish to me. 🤷♀️

@inthewoods23 YES that drives me nuts. So childish. And it’s almost always followed by a completely ridiculous question/statement. “Any mamas out there SO EXCITED about TTC? Please tell me I’m not the only one!” Ughhhhhhh. Like no Karen, you’re the ONLY ONE that wants to be pregnant on TB.
@inthewoods23 and @keikilove, is there a context that you feel like using the word “mommas” is not childish? I’m genuinely curious as my personal pet peeve is when anyone refers to women without children as “mama”.... or even worse when people refer to kids and babies as “lil mama”. It just makes no sense to me! Lol.
@krystrist2014 the only time I can think of is probably when it's not used in a question. Well, it's still childish, but a little less so.

@inthewoods23 totally agree and I especially hate it when it’s momma and not mama. I have no idea why but it makes it worse for me.
I came here to say exactly this, lol. I feel like "momma" and "mama" have different connotations, and even pronunciations.
I remember when I was on The Knot and someone mentioning they hated when women referred to their husband as "hubby" and it was like World War III up in there.
My FFFC is that last week MH and I finally cleared the junk out of the 2 extra bedrooms in our house that had effectively become junk rooms. I've been allowing the crap to accumulate just because I didn't want to deal with the implications of those 2 extra rooms.
When we moved in to the house in 2016, we each took one of the bedrooms for office space, and a couple of months before we officially started TTC in 2018 we consolidated our offices. He moved all of his computer stuff into my office, and his office just became an extra room that we had some random stuff in but no real purpose for. Effectively, both spaces were not great. The combined office had too much crap in it, and the junk room was just a pile of stress.
Last weekend, we officially moved him back into his own office, and my room is my craft room now. I thought I would be sad, but I'm not really. Having my own space has been really nice, and I'll be happy to have my desk back this winter if I have to work from home at all due to snow. Also, we really got rid of a lot of junk during this move, so when we eventually (hopefully!) have to do it again it will be easier.

I also really dislike momma and prefer mama, in case you couldn't tell by my sn. They definitely have different meanings... like if one of your friends is all decked out, you could call her a "hot mama" lol... I think mama is kind of endearing... My hubs calls me this in reference to our dog.
I don't mind "hubby" but really like "hubs". Note: I usually only reference hubs in writing, not verbally...

Speaking of hubbies, my FFFC is that MH and I are those people who have used every pet name/nickname in the book and the ones that stuck are baby, honey, and sweetheart. I'm annoyed by people who use it around me but oblivious to the fact that I do it too lol.
@b_1029 It truly wasn’t aimed at any one person hahahahaha! You know I love you, _underscore_ and all! 😘😄
@krystrist2014 I’m in the camp of ladies above: I go with “mama”, never “momma”, and only use it when I’m speaking to people who are actually mothers lol.
The whole “momma” thing reminded me of another thing that drives me nuts online: when people ask for group recommendations online and then end it with “And GO!” 🙄 This is sooo stupid. Like everyone is so eager to be the first one to respond to your probably very stupid request. Like, just google it.
Example: “Hey mommas, what’s the best way to get rid of hemorrhoids? And GO!”
Also, I like the terms hubby, hubs and mama (not momma though...that's where I draw the line!)

Don't even get my started on the name wifey! Yuck, don't like it.
And my SIL's BF used to (maybe still does idk) call her baby girl. I wanted to gag and die because he'd often say it in a soft/sweet tone which just made it gross. No! Just no! Men stop calling us names in these weird creeper voices.

@ttcbabyodo I have a very strong aversion to the term "hubby". Like, I get that it's totally normalized, but it annoys me that it's not a shortening of the actual word. Sometimes I call my husband my "husby" as a joke, because at least that's how the first part of husband is spelled.
@inthewoods23 I'm not a fan of wifey either... wouldn't buy myself any "wifey" articles when getting married or for the honeymoon. I'm sorry, but EWWW on the baby girl... that just makes my skin crawl, so creepy. Only time baby girl is acceptable is the song with Aaliyah "tell me you're that somebody" with that guy singing "baby girl, uh"... haha...

@mvt2003 haha! Cute! I don’t normally name them but I get weird attachments to bugs around our place too and hate to kill them. They’re always relocated. We had a golden weaver spider on our back steps for a month that I was so attached to until she left!
@keikilove ANND GO! Annoys me so much. I won’t respond to that childishness. Google that shi*!
My FFFC is that I don’t like the way lip injections look. I understand wanting bigger lips, mine are pretty slim too, but they always look so crazy to me. It’s like they don’t know when to stop. A lot of the time they look overly sexy and it makes me uncomfortable how unnatural they look. 💩
Hahaha okay just to give a little background, my initials are MEA, and MH has been calling me "Mia" since the beginning of our relationship when he realized that would be my initials if we got married. The name just stuck.
TW pg and loss mentioned:
I changed my "knottie" username to "mama" when I got pg the first time around and I didn't have the heart to change it to anything else when we MCd.
I hope you'll all forgive me for my atrocious name! Hahaha! 😅
@mama_mea You are too funny! I LOL-ed when you said you were backing out of the room slowly. Seriously, the underscores/dashes are only a minuscule tiny nuisance in the grand scheme of TB, nothing more. And you earned the title “Mama” so there’s nothing wrong with that! I’ve been calling you “Mama Mia” in my head since you joined—it’s super cute!
I’m actually sorry my FFFC made anyone feel self-conscious about their SN. I hope somebody gets me back next week in the FFFC or UO: Mayne something like “I really don’t like when members post controversial topics & then use the excuse ‘Oh, I just have really strong opinions, sorry it bothered you’.” 😆
@mvt2003 Have you ever read The Secret? It talks about leaving room for whatever you want in your life, like space in your closet for a partner if you’re single, etc. and part of me superstitiously thinks we need to put everything in our office in storage. Part of that is so we can list our house and part of it is the TTC cray cray as we approach a year. PS I hate the terms “cray cray” and “bae” - hell, any popular word / phrase like boogie or VCSO.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

@dawn_tay I think it’s acceptable lol but ... TW for LO mentioned:
we are the bear family, my son gave us the name when MH (His step dad) came into the picture. He started referring to us as the bear family... mama bear, papa bear, little bear (thats him) and Chase and Lola bear (our two dogs). So I’m all on board for the mama thing 😂.

@emeraldduchess I love you even more now. I name all the animals!

I remember when I was on The Knot and someone mentioning they hated when women referred to their husband as "hubby" and it was like World War III up in there.
Due with baby #2: Feb 2022

@krystrist2014 I’m in the camp of ladies above: I go with “mama”, never “momma”, and only use it when I’m speaking to people who are actually mothers lol.

I'll just back out really slow now. 😂

I hope you'll all forgive me for my atrocious name! Hahaha! 😅
