@craftywitch thanks for sharing that chart. I’m overwhelmed with the idea of cloth diapering but love the eco friendly aspect. So far using a reusable swim diaper is as good as I’ve got with my first two.
@doodleoodle seriously check out best bottoms diapers. You just snap a new liner in any time, they are flat, there is no folding, easy peasy. I use one cover a day unless there is a poopsplosion. I also love that they have the double elastic which makes them much less prone to leaking. For nighttime we would use something like this https://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/collections/fitted-diapers/products/workhorse-organic-no-closure with the cover over it.
I just bought one size and DD1 used disposables until she fit into the one sized ones. It was only a few weeks - they start at 8 lbs. (My daughter of course was 5 lbs 10 oz when she was born).
We have an independent cloth diaper store near us and anyone that is interested I would encourage you to check them out in person or also sometimes they have cloth diaper swaps if you find a local cloth diapering group on facebook. This is where we got our first few diapers and talked to different moms in person about the best kinds to use, which was very helpful.

Thank you so much @leksiL I will check those out! I am hesitant about pocket diapers because I’m worried about the extra washing of the waterproof cover wearing out the cover more quickly. This sounds like a happy medium!
I’m thinking about/researching cloth diapering so much that I’m actually dreaming about them now 🤦♀️ I think if I end up going that route I’m going to switch my two year old over to cloth too. She is nowhere near ready for potty training yet.
Is anyone else mildly surprised at how drama-free this BMB has been? Don't get me wrong, I love how supportive and kind we are to each other...but where are all the randos? I could use a little snark in my life right now.
@lanie1000 We have a chill group!!! I think once we do our shift to a PG or whatever that things might heat up lol. Definitely have seen that in other BMBs! I also like to lurk the 1st tri / TTGP boards and catch any drama
I think our bmb is small compared to my others in the past, which probably had to do with us having less drama. I think that’s good because we really get to know the main contributors.
@lanie1000 I feel like TB is wayyyy less active in general since the last time I was on it. People don’t post nearly as often and there is so little drama.

I popped in to say I saw the baby kick for the first time about 30 minutes ago which was totally crazy to watch my stomach move but then I saw all the diaper talk and wanted to chime in there I put Alva and Nora’s nursery on my registry I’m really excited to try cloth diapering and hope it goes well I went through a lot of reviews online before settling on those two the Alva for price and quality and Nora’s nursery for quality and I love that they come with wet bags that I can use for middle of the night changes and diaper bags on the go changes
@lanie1000 i enjoy reading a bit of drama here and there, but not so much being involved. It's why I still hang around on weddingwire. It blows my mind to see what some people think is perfectly acceptable behavior! I like the group of ladies here! You guys are all so wonderful!
Everyone is so right. I would never trade this group of supportive and chill mamas for a snarky, mean girls filled month. I had one of those with my first and it was very hard for new and/or quieter people to jump in and get accepted.
...but sometimes the cartoon devil on my shoulder wonders how long we'll go before a new flavor of crazy emerges.
I think part of the low drama is there seemed to be a few that left after the whole FB debate. I know I haven't contributed as much as I've wanted but I'm working on getting better at that. But if you do want drama follow @brookert615 and lurk 1st tri or TTGP because there are usually a few drama lamas that pop up!

Just chiming in to say that I lurked the TTGP board in the early newborn days when I was up half the night BF and trying not to fall asleep. It never disappointed . Those women are ruthless (in the best way) to randos.
Oh don't go wishing for drama! Something ALWAYS comes up, although I bet if anything it'll be randos here. TB is quieter than my first time around in 2016, but I think the admins kind of wanted it this way and started strongly discouraging heavy handed snark.
I dunno... my last BMB was pretty chill too, even once we moved to FB. We had very scientifically backed and civil convos about all the hot topics (circumcising, vaccines etc). I will say I sometimes miss being on TTGP for the snark. People would come in with the craziest shit
Agree that our bmb is very chill so far, which I like- vaccines, circumcision and spanking talk could fix that quick lol Id expect the board to get a bit more active, or at least more random posters as we get to third trimester
@babyroma I would hope vaccines wouldn't be much of an issue here...I mean don't people really into woo go to babycenter or something?
In my 2016 BMB (we moved to FB) we have a politics thread every once in awhile but it's kind of like an echo chamber so has only led to drama a few times, and easy to steer clear from if politics makes you triggered
it's nice to have a place of supportive ladies to mainly talk about kids though - you get enough drama in other parts of your life. I do like to stalk WTE to see all the baby daddy and crazy IL stories though

Okay, I need to vent just a bit. First and foremost, I want to express how grateful I am to be pregnant, and that baby appears to be healthy thus far. Definitely not taking this for granted!
But, I am feeling pretty frustrated and impatient with my body. Not only do I have an retroverted uterus, which can mean a smaller bump, but I also have an anterior placenta, which means I'll have to wait longer to feel baby move. The two things I was looking forward to the most in pregnancy! The bump envy and wiggle envy is REAL.
@malloryfrommn I hear you! I don’t have a retroverted uterus (to my knowledge) but my bump is smaller and I have an anterior placenta so I haven’t felt any movement yet, at least not as far as I can tell . And people keep commenting that “they can’t even tell I’m pregnant!” or asking if I’ve felt kicks and it’s just such a bummer when I’m like “not yet...hopefully soon!”
Luckily this week my bump has started to pop out which helps but I’m still so ready to feel movement
@malloryfrommn I can relate somewhat! I don't have the retroverted uterus but as I'm plus size...my "bump" isnt really noticeable to people unless I show them a side by side of my pre-pregnancy body. And I know that my belly fat is for sure not helping me feel anything when baby is moving.
@nhh11 and @babyroma I'm sorry you are dealing with these frustrations too! It's tough. It's so exciting to be carrying a baby, and naturally you want to LOOK and FEEL like you are carrying a baby.
@malloryfrommn vent away! I totally understand where you are coming from even if I don't have the same conditions you do. I carry my weight around my middle so I still can't tell if I look pregnant or just like I'm heavy and ate too much. Also it's probably part of the reason I haven't felt even a single flutter that I know of and I know he's moving around in there. I think a lot of us will find that if we are thinking or feeling a certain way chances are we aren't alone in that area.

@malloryfrommn I'm also upset/concerned about my bump. I'm 15 weeks pregnant with triplets and my bump is very small. I'm still wearing my normal clothes (just not Jean's or tight shorts) and have plenty of room. I take weekly bump pics and you can notice a change from 7 weeks to now but it mostly just looks like I got a bit fat. It's not the classic round bump sticking out that I've seen in other triplet pregnancy pics. I dont know if I should be worried or not. I do have another scan next week so I'm going to ask my doctor then.
@ACAC25 I have a friend who had twins. She didn’t look pregnant until the very end of her pregnancy. Everyone is different and if your doctor isn’t worried, I’m sure all is fine!

So we have monthly lunch meetings and one of them is for designers/drafters. Our department head is tired of the same guy being the only one who participates in it (he's literally the one in charge...its kind of on him to find others to present??) So they're making more of an effort to find other people to do demos or get up and lead a discussion....guess who hates public speaking (even in front of like 10-12 people) and volunteered herself to give a demo next week. Ughhhhh
Officially single digits until we find out what our baby is!!!! It's making my family (and me!) crazy! I was texting my sister a couple days ago with the countdown and she responded "I know!! I was at practice today and started jumping up and down and Logan looked at me and I said "11 days until I find out baby!!!" 😂"
Finally fixed my login problem(hopefully)! I'm with you @babyroma on the chubby bump making it hard to feel kicks. I was doing really well with feeling good this pregnancy until I broke my darn foot and now I can't be as active and is really making me self conscious about being plus sized while pregnant.
Do we have anyone reaching viability this week? I think a Feb 1 due date would be 24 weeks on Friday.
The earliest gestation i have worked with is actually 22w6d. It’s definitely a rough NICU road that early and chances of survival are limited, but it’s exciting to get to the point of viability.
@DDRRT1982 I am due February 1st. I will hit 24 weeks on Saturday, so your guess was super close.
Now that I feel the baby move lots I am less worried, but reaching viability will definitely be nice. And, as I keep telling the baby, s/he would best stay put until full term.
@DDRRT1982 I'll be at viability the Sunday after this one, although because of our birth center delivery requiring 37 weeks I know I won't feel less worried until then... If anything I will probably get more anxious as we're between viability and birth center requirements.
