Good luck to everyone having transferssoon or just transfered. Just keep as calm as possible and try to stay distracted with other things.
Welcome to those who just joined!
@inthewoods23 i know its easier said than dobe but try not to get too down about a negative at 6dpt. Not everyone gets a positve that early. Most of what ive read says implantation could take up to 5 days, so there may not be enough hcg yet. Just hang in there. With my first fet which resulted in our son, i started feeling some symptoms around 7-10dpt: tender breasts, crampy, gassy and bloated. I didnt feel nauseous until after 5 weeks. This time around i havent felt anything besides slight cramping and i’m 14dpt. Both times i have had to pee a lot pretty early on. Oh, i also feel hunger pains much more sharply when pregnant, especially early in the morning. So each time is diiferent for everyone. I didnt really have any side affects in any of my cycles from the meds except headaches this time around and the mood swings.
Afm, we got our final beta today and we are up to 1865. Our first U/S is scheduled for 10/4.

With my son I had basically no symptoms my entire pregnancy so no symptoms are no reason to worry!

@inthewoods23 the waiting is SO hard -- when is your beta test?
@stellegalascione I hope you check in soon, I've been thinking about you!
@BusinessWife I've actually talked to my husband recently too about how scientific this whole process is compared to the unassisted way. I wish there was a way for me to feel like he was more a part of things -- maybe it will feel better once we're farther along and we can stop the PIO shots and so on.
@marfi236 I've had the occasional feeling bleh in the morning and Thursday and Friday last week I wanted to just sleep at my desk at work, but nothing has been consistently there so 🤷♀️ I can tell I'm bloated from the PIO but not terribly and there's been gas but I'm.pretty sure that's just from the foods I've been eating.
@allie456 I got in tomorrow morning for beta 🙂 I'm a little terrified if it's negative because they'll probably call me by lunch and I'll have to send over half the work day moping about it. But if it's good news, I'm going to be so distracted with my mind racing about everything that I need to do now. Also I realized I'm going to run out of needles and syringes after tomorrow so I'm like, great I have that to worry about too of it's positive. I guess I could request a refill, but I don't want to do that if I don't have to.

@inthewoods23 I'm bloated (thanks PIO) and I've got some headaches that I don't normally suffer from, I'm not the best one to talk about symptoms as mine were like @marfi236 very minimal. Hoping for positive news for you tomorrow.

Thanks @BusinessWife! I'm glad I re-entered the bump this process has been drawn out for so long it doesn't feel real & that's why it didn't even occur to me to jump back on here sooner, but I'm thankful to have the support. I've never done a FET so I have no idea when to start poas haha. My beta is Oct 3rd I think so that's 9dp5dt -- before I did fresh where I either didn't test early or I had to test out my trigger...so this will be different for sure
We had a 6AA embryo transferred this morning. Everything went well! Had to empty my bladder twice (2 cups each time, yikes!) US tech joked and told me I had the bladder of the day. I forgot how painful it was to have that too-full bladder, waiting for transfer. Beta on the 30th. 🤞
AFM: We transferred a PGD normal AA boy embryo yesterday. Transfer went smooth but on the first try the embryo was retained in the the catheter so the doctor had to repeat it. The doctor and embryologist called him extra sticky and stubborn lol. He wished us luck...said we were going to have our hands full. I wore my lucky pineapple socks and pineapple shirt so the doc said how he would not be surprised if soon enough someone comes in dressed as an actual pineapple 😂 He definitely made the process fun. Now I’m at home in bed (it’s raining here) so that’s nice. I’m catching up on This Is Us and I am so happy that the episodes I’m on are telling Kate’s IVF journey. I love her and Toby ☺️
@jessica8bryant I love your sense of humour, wearing pineapple apparel to your transfer! We also had a few laughs at our transfer which definitely takes the stress level down and makes it a fun memory. My partner took some goofy Snapchats of us and made me laugh a few times too. Bought a couple books to read and looking forward to taking as many naps as I want over the next few days 😁
@jessica8bryant@vanessa_lynne congrats on your transfers. Take it easy this weekend. The overly full bladder is the worst, I've been sent to the bathroom both times to partially empty and still wanted to run into the ladies room as soon as I was able.
What is everyone's favorite easy, go-to meal? I need inspiration for my meal planning/prepping this weekend. I make 5 dozen meatballs from scratch at a time and freeze them in meal size numbers. Chop mushrooms and onion or shallot, cook till softened and add to "canned" sauce. Heat meatballs in oven till sizzling, dump in the sauce and pour over pasta. Dash of parm and some bread, done!
@stella_700 I do a lot of one-pan meals (salmon + quartered small potatoes + green beans + olive oil + salt and pepper in the oven at 425). If I've actually gone shopping it's on the table in less than 30 minutes.
@jessica8bryant I think sticky is the best compliment an embryo can have! Also now I want to watch this is us. I loved the show and watched about a season and a half but then I would just get to emotional and gave it up. Lol.
@stella_700 I’m hanging in there. It was a crazy week at work the little is sick and I think the early pregnancy fatigue and yucky stomach are starting. I’m actually thankful for the symptoms though makes me less nervous for my ultrasound on Tuesday.
One of my favorite go to weeknight meals is 1lb of ground beef in a skillet. Season with salt, pepper, garlic (I usually use a few cloves of fresh but powder works too), lots and lots of cumin and a pinch or two of chili powder or red chili flakes. After meat is browned add two cans of green beans(drained) and two cans of diced tomatoes (I usually drain one can and leave liquid in the other or I’ve also left the liquid on both and added leftover rice). Once it’s all warmed up I usually add another round of the same spices until I like it. It’s nothing fancy but it’s cheep easy and quick and leftovers taste great.

Food has been a tough one for me too lately. I made a really easy curry the other day... https://minimalistbaker.com/30-minute-coconut-curry/ and I just used whatever veggies I had around the house. We're usually a chicken, veggies and rice household. Also like to saute onions, celery and scramble an egg in there, add cooked chopped chicken and add some pre-cooked rice and soy sauce to taste. Easy chicken fried rice! I liked the other ideas! Good topic!
@allie456 it was negative yesterday 😢 I'll be going through some testing and a mock transfer with a biopsy for receptivity to find out why it didn't work. My next earliest transfer date is going to be sometime in January.
DH is quite upset when I explained what some of the testing is for and he doesn't understand why that's not done as part of the first transfer cycle. I can only presume they don't start with some of these tests because it's added expense.

@inthewoods23 I am so sorry. I understand where your husband is coming from. Once we found out about my translocation I kept asking myself why would they not test everyone for this prior to IVF. My doctor told us it’s very rare. He had also initially suggested we don’t PGD test or embryos after retrieval because we were both young and did not know of my issue yet. I do think most doctors mean well and they try to save us money where they can. It’s hard to predict why a transfer won’t work. I’m so sorry I will be praying for you 💕
@jessica8bryant I had a hysteroscopy back in August too so I'm guessing the assumption is that the lining is then perfect for embryo transfer, but it is interesting that they don't automatically check for the perfect timing. I'm assuming since embryos don't implant immediately and can take a few days, the date at which a transfer is done doesn't need to be exact. My progesterone was good on the day of transfer so, I don't know if they consider that to mean the timing was fine. Although I think that BW result wasn't known until after the transfer actually occurred.

@Aera11 thanks ☺️ I think I will test before beta. I cannot wait that long plus I would like to mentally prepare myself if it’s negative. I have been feeling come cramping down there, which I felt with my two successful transfers...but I also know that each transfer is different and I don’t want to get my hopes up trying to compare symptoms. I have just been relaxing and enjoyed being lazy lol. But yes estrace have made me really tired I noticed 😴
@inthewoods23 I am so very sorry. and I know you wanted to transfer a male embryo and that was your last one, wasn't it? will you cycle again? how incredibly disappointing.
honestly all of this seems like such a Rube Goldberg machine I'm amazed it works as often as it does. it seems like there are infinite ways for it to go wrong. I hope that the mock transfer and biopsy provide you with some insight.
I know, I feel like it's better to know before @jessica8bryant, how soon will you test? I'm trying your figure out when I'd start. My transfer is Tuesday afternoon.
@lrynwnab right?! I never nap & ive taken a few since I started the estrace. I just feel like my energy is low, is that how you feel? I'm ready to be done with it!

Today I am 6dp5dt and my husband put a stop to testing today. He doesn’t want me to get myself down if it’s negative since it’s still early. So I guess we are waiting a few more days 😭😭😭
My boobs are insanely sore and swollen and I’m freaking exhausted, way more than I was on just the eatrace and progesterone. Hoping these are all positive signs.
The in-laws are coming Friday-Wednesday Beta is next Tuesday. We haven’t told them we were even doing the FET so should be an interesting visit.
@inthewoods23 I'm sorry you had a negative result. Sending you hugs and best of luck with next steps.
@jessica8bryant my beta is Monday and re-test Wednesday. I will likely test 5dp5dt. Which is my 39th birthday. I also have my dad and his partner visiting over the weekend, so I'm a little worried if I do have negative home tests that I will be a grump while they're here.
Does anyone else find that especially during the post-transfer period, you tend to turn off your emotions a little? I'm finding myself drifting into this neutral emotion area where I try not to feel (yea, I know, despite the hormone fluctuations) too many emotions... Though yesterday, my last day of bed rest, I cried while watching Mamma Mia 2 several times - the whole mom/daughter relationship had me on high sensitivity. I guess after going through a previous unsuccessful transfer, I'm just protecting myself from potential disappointment.
@vanessa lynne I totally hear you on "turning off the emotions"! Even with each piece of good news i get i find myself gathering the data and then just waiting for
the next appointment. Drifting is a great descriptor of what i have been
doing. I just talked with DH last night about how I have to try living in the moment a little bit more right now. Just a little bit.

@inthewoods23 the waiting is SO hard -- when is your beta test?
@stellegalascione I hope you check in soon, I've been thinking about you!
@BusinessWife I've actually talked to my husband recently too about how scientific this whole process is compared to the unassisted way. I wish there was a way for me to feel like he was more a part of things -- maybe it will feel better once we're farther along and we can stop the PIO shots and so on.
welcome to all the new folks also.

I did have my transfer on Tuesday. They transferred 1 perfect AA embie 💜💙 I was couch ridden for the rest of Tuesday and light activity Wednesday. I will probably start testing on Sunday because again I have no self control lol
@jessica8bryant wow that’s a great lining! FX for a successful transfer.
@inthewoods23 keeping my fingers crossed for you. I guess my symptoms have been inconsistent so I’m not help on that front.
@stellegalascione congratulations on your transfer!

Thanks @BusinessWife! I'm glad I re-entered the bump
@Aera11 welcome! It's great to have support, so I'm glad you decided to come back.
@stellegalascione congrats on your transfer! 😁 How are you feeling?
@inthewoods23 how did it go today?
@stella_700 I do a lot of one-pan meals (salmon + quartered small potatoes + green beans + olive oil + salt and pepper in the oven at 425). If I've actually gone shopping it's on the table in less than 30 minutes.

Good topic!
DH is quite upset when I explained what some of the testing is for and he doesn't understand why that's not done as part of the first transfer cycle. I can only presume they don't start with some of these tests because it's added expense.

ugh, I'm so sorry @inthewoods23
question: anyone that's been on estrace, did it make you sleepy? I feel like I've been so exhausted the last week or so
honestly all of this seems like such a Rube Goldberg machine I'm amazed it works as often as it does. it seems like there are infinite ways for it to go wrong. I hope that the mock transfer and biopsy provide you with some insight.
I'm so sorry for you and your husband.

I guess after going through a previous unsuccessful transfer, I'm just protecting myself from potential disappointment.
getting ready to head to my transfer; I can't believe it's here!
