Will come back and do tags when I get the chance. The hurricane killed our power and it has been a slow start to the week. Some still don't have it back yet.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Blood work RE Appt Oct 2nd
How are things going?: Just checking boxes until we get to that RE appointment. MH has been hectic, and good 'ol Dorian did not help matters this weekend. Focusing on the things that I can control, like diet and toxins where I can.
Any questions?:
GTKY: what was your favorite subject in school (any grade level)? Loved Math, but History came easy to me.

Ultrasound results: There is a small lesion on my left ovary. It’s likely a benign cyst, but I need to go for another ultrasound in 6 weeks. I think ovarian cysts are pretty common right? If anyone has any info to share, I’d really appreciate it!

@misshelen86 Not sure if this is typical, but I had a possible cyst at my first appointment. When I went in for my next scan a month later, it was gone. My dr didn't seem super worried when he first saw it, so I think they are common.
@misshelen86 I've had cysts before, they usually go away on their own. But I've heard sometimes some people need them to be removed. Fx it goes away on it's own!
@hanshotfirst77 Aw that is amazing news!!! I totally just teared up when I read that!

@inthewoods23 good luck today! Will be thinking about you. @misshelen86 hope everything went ok with your Dr this morning. @jennifer_louise yes, definitely take ibuprofen beforehand. I was told it also helps relax the muscles so it is easier and less uncomfortable overall. @shoogapoff ah ok, that makes sense. Good news about the follies tho, I'd take that as a good sign that you respond well to the clomid. @NYTino24 my doc isn't at all concerned about morph, to the point where he doesn't even tell us what the # is unless we ask. He's more concerned about count and motility. Thank you for that study, btw, I found that very interesting. @misshelen86 ovarian cysts are very common, and often harmless. I've had lots of them. Glad they're keeping an eye on it; hopefully nothing to worry about! @nitnat007 I was thinking about you being on the east coast in this storm. I have a friend in NS who was without power for 28 hours but she said thankfully not a ton of damage.
AFM, thank you for all the good vibes for my IUI last night. We were a little frazzled when we got there because the door of the clinic was locked (since it was after-hours, and apparently they've had homeless people wander in before) and the lights were off but my RE came and retrieved us promptly at 6pm joking that we didn't think [he] forgot us, did we? I flat out said yup because it would be just our luck to not be able to go through with it. He was very reassuring, as usual.
MH's count came in at 16mil with 67% motility before the wash, so my RE was happy with that given our history (that's about normal for him, actually pretty good considering we only abstained for about 38 hrs prior to). And to answer my earlier question about timing of dropping off the sample and the actual IUI, he said sperm can live in proper conditions for up to 72 hours (which we should've known because it can live in the uterus for a few days, duh) and since they do the sperm wash it actually concentrates more as it incubates all day. He said some studies have shown that the longer you leave it the better the results are, so 7-8 hours is perfect. I have not googled this yet, but I'm choosing to trust his word. MH was also mortified that I made him cradle the test tube and tell his spermies that they were special and fast and strong.
Now we wait! My beta isn't until the 23rd, and I have no intention of POAS (even to test out the trigger) before then so let's see how this goes.

Thank you @misshelen86 and @mokay19 I am so relieved and happy! I have my saline sono on Friday which my nurse said will also count as my baseline. And then I think if all looks good I will start estrace. No FET date yet but I am guessing somewhere around early-mid October.
Congratulations @hanshotfirst77, that’s such wonderful news!!!
@kiki047 FX for super successful IUI results!!!🤞🏽♥️🤞🏽 I literally laughed out loud that you told your husband to tell his spermies they were “special, fast and strong”. Love it!
@kiki047 such great news!!! I love that you made YH talk to his spermies!! MH will flat out tell me NO when I ask him to do the same bahaha

@emeraldduchess the lights were still on when we got there and were knocking on the door, THEN they turned the lights off so I was in full panic mode by that time lol. He apologized and said his staff didn't know he snuck us in after hours. @jennifer_louise I mean, they say that telling your plants they are loved makes them grow better so why not the same for spermies? @keikilove I don't know why he puts up with me sometimes lol Also, me to my eggs:
@kpearse99 Our RE handed him the test tube and said "here, I'll let you guys get re-acquainted" and MH was dangling it between his fingers like it was on fire or something. I'm like "OMG, cradle it in your hands to keep it warm! Stop! One of those could be our future child, stop holding it like a dirty sock!" He begrudgingly obliged and agreed to at least hold it in his first while muttering to it under his breath.

OK, ladies, I am going to do my best to keep up, but it's a crazy-busy week for me so forgive me if I fall behind. Y'all know I love you more than my luggage! (Name that movie...anyone?) Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained IF, unexplained RPL, possible LP defect due to low progesterone/AMA
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW. TBH I am dreading betas on Friday and I know a BFN is going to crush me.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): TI with progesterone post-O. No nasty itching this cycle, so yay!
How are things going?: Eh. I was having an OK few days, then yesterday happened. Most of you know I love theatre, it's my safe place and where I go for a break from the real world. I posted about it in TTCAL but here's the short(er) version. *TW PG and LC*
I am singing in a concert in 2 weeks and 2 of the other performers are very, very pregnant. Another has an infant. There was fussing over all the mommies at rehearsal last night. I didn't think it would get to me but it did and I cried the whole ride home. I am feeling so much self-loathing right now because my body won't do what I need it to, and because I was so damn triggered.
Any questions?: If I call my RE's office this week about doing IUI, would we have to wait until the cycle after this next one? I suppose it depends more on how long it takes for insurance to approve. But I do know my doc has already filled out the paperwork.
GTKY: what was your favorite subject in school (any grade level)? Probably English literature. I majored in literature in college with the intention of becoming a high school English teacher, but decided I liked elementary better.
I'm back home now. Bad news first - our better male embryo did not survive the thaw I can't remember what she said exactly, but it seized or something and so they didn't think it would lead to a pregnancy so they thawed the 2nd male embryo we have. Both were basically graded 5BB (the better one had a B+ somewhere in the grading, per my RE, but nobody else has said anything like that). 2nd male looked great she said and it was already out of its zona or working it's way out (the "hatching") so yay!! Placement was perfect they said.
Estradiol and progesterone were right where they should be. I go back this Friday to check them again and then beta test the following Friday! I may or may not test next Sunday or Monday
Thanks for all your well wishes ladies!

@inthewoods23 I'm sorry about your embryo but I'm so glad your other one was good. Fx so hard for you!
@emeraldduchess I'm so sorry for the triggers irl. I hope this is your cycle! But if not I think you should be able to proceed with IUI right away. Unless your insurance requires a prior auth, I know some insurances do. So I would suggest checking on that. But Fx so hard you don't need it!
Thank you everyone! My nurse emailed me my FET protocol, as long as my Saline Sono is clear, I'll be doing my FET tentatively on 10/4!
@emeraldduchess if you have to get pre-authorization, then I'd have them put it in now for next cycle since it can take a couple weeks. But then call the insurance after a week or so to check on it because if you do, sometimes they can take care of it. Hopefully you won't need the authorization but I think it's good to put it in just in case.
@inthewoods23 sorry to hear about the first embryo, but I'm so happy that the second thawed perfectly and was placed nicely! Hopefully it burrows in for the long haul!
@hanshotfirst77 FX for a clear saline and a transfer date of 10/4!
@inthewoods23 FX for a sticky little bean!! So sorry about the first embryo, but it sounds like the second one is ready to go! @emeraldduchess ugh so sorry about the triggers. That sounds incredibly difficult, even on the best of TTC days. Hugs to you. Keeping all the things crossed for your upcoming beta!

@emeraldduchess I’ve been there, so many times. Nothing to say other than its okay to feel the way you’re feeling and that you should/need to let yourself feel that way when it comes on. Calling the RE on my break today to schedule my betas and tell them we want to do IUI as soon as we can. Deep breaths... TBH I am more worried about how I am going to handle it with work. I don't want to explain why I might need a day off for any procedures. I'll figure it out somehow, though.
@emeraldduchess As far as work goes, are you able to take half days? For my IUI's I usually just took a few hours off for the procedure and then went back to work. You could try to be vague and just say you have a doctor appt.
@emeraldduchess you shouldn't need a day off for IUIs so hopefully you can just pull a "I'm going to be coming in late due to an appointment".
I've had some twinges and general dull aches in my ute area since yesterday and I'm trying not to be a SS about it lol. But maybe!

@kpearse99 I read that it can happen pretty early. Googling again one site says between 1-5 days after transfer. Some people do seem to get positives 4-5dpt.
Minimal cramping is totally normal after the procedure which is probably all I'm feeling. But I like to think otherwise!

@kpearse99 yes. The embryo has already been growing for 5 days (which is usually that time after fertilization that it's traveling through the tubes into your ute). The embryo expands and eventually breaks the shell, or zona, that it's in and then implants into the uterus. That's why implantation can happen so quickly when you're using a day 5 embryo. When they're day 3 embryos, they wouldn't implant for at least a few days because the cells are still dividing and expanding and haven't broken out of their shell.

@hanshotfirst77@inthewoods23 I have a certain amount of sick days and sick time that I can use. My concern is how much I need to share about the reason for needing time. I might just call out that day since I imagine with IUI you don't get a whole lot of time beforehand.
Um @inthewoods23 I hope it's the real thing!! The odds are in your favor (:
@emeraldduchess When I get to IUI time, I'll probably just say "doctor's appointment" or something vague like that. Since I have the time off, I don't feel like I "owe" anybody an excuse. I think my main concern is that you never know exactly what day it's going to be until right before.
@emeraldduchess In mine usually I would know a few days before hand. When you find out your follies are big enough to trigger. I've kept things pretty vague with my boss. Between the monitoring, IUI's, *TW* D&C's /*TW*, and IVF stuff, there's been a lot of time off, but I just kept it to I have an appt, I need a surgery or procedure. He hasn't pried for more info so I haven't given it. I don't think you should have to share the details if you don't want to, but if it's easier , calling out sounds like a good plan.
@emeraldduchess be as vague as you want to be. It's none of their business the specifics. As @jennifer_louise said, you don't owe anybody an excuse!
Oh dear, I broke out in tears out of the blue. The BSC has already begun. Gonna be a long week wondering what's going on in my ute. 😵

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o 9/9
Good luck today @inthewoods23!!
Diagnosis (if you've been): AMA, MFI (low morph, acrosome defect)
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Blood work RE Appt Oct 2nd
How are things going?: Just checking boxes until we get to that RE appointment. MH has been hectic, and good 'ol Dorian did not help matters this weekend. Focusing on the things that I can control, like diet and toxins where I can.
Any questions?:
GTKY: what was your favorite subject in school (any grade level)? Loved Math, but History came easy to me.

There is a small lesion on my left ovary. It’s likely a benign cyst, but I need to go for another ultrasound in 6 weeks. I think ovarian cysts are pretty common right? If anyone has any info to share, I’d really appreciate it!

@misshelen86 I think cysts are pretty common. If this isn't messing with your cycle or causing you pain, then hopefully it's no cause for concern.
@hanshotfirst77 yay embabies!! So happy for you. Are they going to transfer one at a time?
@kiki047 yay girl!! I do believe that whispering reassuringly to your sperm is associated with greater success rates. Citation: science.
@kiki047 FX for super successful IUI results!!!🤞🏽♥️🤞🏽 I literally laughed out loud that you told your husband to tell his spermies they were “special, fast and strong”. Love it!

Diagnosis (if you've been): unexplained IF, unexplained RPL, possible LP defect due to low progesterone/AMA
@hanshotfirst77 that's wonderful news!!

@emeraldduchess When I get to IUI time, I'll probably just say "doctor's appointment" or something vague like that. Since I have the time off, I don't feel like I "owe" anybody an excuse. I think my main concern is that you never know exactly what day it's going to be until right before.
Also getting major FOMO with all these upcoming IUIs (@emeraldduchess @b_1029 @shoogapoff @kpearse99)!!
