I just got a new iPhone and I can't remember my apple ID. I asked for an email to be sent to reset my password and it never sent it. So I'm still chugging away on my old phone because I can't download anything without my ID. DH is going to help me tonight but I'm anxious to be done with this galaxy phone. I thought I could make the switch but I just couldn't fully embrace it.
@emeraldcity1214 I hate the apple ID thing! I swear it always says I have the wrong password...and then it's impossible to sign back in. So annoying! I do love my iPhone though...I've never had any other type besides a Blackberry back in the day, which was the BEST.
@emeraldcity1214@mc0303 I hate that you have to put in the ID even when it’s a free app/download
Last night we went on a tour of the hospital and I am so so happy with everything we saw and heard. The woman doing the tour kept emphasizing how many options there are for labor to go exactly how you want it to go (in terms of medicated/non-medicated, shower/tub for pain management) and how breast feeding or formula feeding is totally up to you. They also do immediate skin to skin unless there are complications that lead to NICU and do delayed cord clamping. The baby stays in the room with you the entire time and is never taken to a nursery. The L&D rooms were huge and private and postpartum rooms are also private. I also learned that they need to get a full liter of fluids through your IV before they let you get an epidural which I was totally unaware of.
@kopp5988 that’s so nice that the hospital visit went well and that they’re cool with all feeding styles! I finally realized what giving birth at a ‘baby friendly’ hospital meant...that they push breastfeeding hardcore and will only give formula when ‘medically necessary’. I want to give BF a go, but I also don’t want to feel pressured into doing something and wish they’d cool it a little and be more chill.
I have been wearing my youngest (almost 22 months) in my Ergo, in the traditional front style carry this entire pregnancy. Well, I went grocery shopping yesterday and tried shopping like that with the other two kids. I guess hitting 20 weeks officially made me "pop" enough that it is no longer possible. I could tell she was just as uncomfortable as me. I may try carrying her on my back but at this point I'm not sure if I can so that and grocery shop either. Too much bending.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, I ended up having to create a new apple ID. It even told me my old ID wasn't associated with my birthdate when I was trying to retrieve it via security questions. I was so mad by the time I finished. 😑
Happy 4th of July to all those in the states in the group! I successfully avoided all traffic on my drive from Maryland to Long Island by leaving at 5:30am this morning now let’s see how long I make it at this BBQ before I need a nap!!
I am officially done today. My 3 year old has basically been on a roll all day long. I spent most of my morning taking him back and forth to timeout and now nap has been no different.
Then my toddler acts like I have never given her food in her entire life. The child has been a bottomless pit since we got to Alaska. I am almost out of food in the house because of her.
So now, I’m hiding in my bathroom pretending to poop. So I can have a few minutes of peace.
@rogro118 I ended up getting everyone down for an early nap and then we went outside to play in the pool. I even sat my pregnant butt in the kiddy pool because it was so unbelievably hot inside. I was miserable.
I ended up up making an ice pack to sleep with last night. It was glorious!
It was super hot here too yesterday. I put my feet in the kiddie pool but didn’t want to put a bathing suit on. DS enjoyed it though!
daycare is closed today so I’m home. MH is at a memorial service and then later this afternoon we’re going to a bbq at a friends house. It’s nice to be home although I’m a little annoyed that daycare is closed so I had to take a day off.
My MIL and I are going to take the kids somewhere today. The options are zoo, children’s museum, water park, or pool. I haven’t decided which I want to do but I’m somewhat leaning towards the water park. While we are gone my FIL and his brother are going to start painting. I really hope it isn’t too much of a pain to cover those dark accent walls. I’m just glad I have some help so we can get it done this week and it can be behind me. Last year I spent 6 months painting 1 bathroom because I just couldn’t find the time to get it done with all the kids constantly up under me.
Anyone feeling consistent movement yet? I think I feel at least some movement at least once or so a day. Yesterday I actually saw my belly jump which was super fun. I think I read consistent movement or at least kick counts should start around 8 weeks, so I know I have some time left but am anxious (and terrified!) for that consistent reassurance. Im 20 weeks tomorrow but just wanted to see how every one elses little person is doing. I also know each baby is different and movements will be different depending on the baby and the time of day measured. Also, I have a stupid anterior placenta and I am heavy. So it is literally a battle against the bulge. (P.S., sorry I called you stupid, placenta. You seem very nice and please continue to nurture this baby. I just wish you would have chosen more carefully your place of residence for this pregnancy).
@purplefan1 I've been feeling consistent movement for a few weeks (21w exactly today). I havent bothered with kick counts yet. But usually if baby is particularly quiet, laying on my left side or reclining in bed for a bit wakes her up and she gets moving. I also have been to see movement on the outside for the last week. Feeling baby kicks and movement is my absolute favorite part of pregnancy!
Its mine too but both pregnancies have bewn anterior placentas so I feel a little robbed because everthing gets muted. Even towards the end of my last pregnancy I had to be very mindful of kicks because I couldnt feel her moving some times. I want all the punches and jabs and belly jumps!
@purplefan1 I'll be 22 weeks on Sunday, also with anterior placenta. I have felt movement for the past couple weeks, it's been pretty consistent this week (every morning after I let the dogs out he gets super rowdy). I felt a few kicks from the outside a couple of days ago, but haven't since then. I don't count them, but I certainly get a little antsy when I don't feel them for a while!
I hit 20 weeks this past Monday and I have been feeling consistent movement throughout the day since 29 weeks. I have even seen more outside movement. I have an anterior placenta too. I know what you mean about feeling robbed.
I've been feeling what I think is a lot of movement. And I think baby gets the hiccups alot, or like I told MH today, this turds gonna be a drummer with how fast his little kicks are sometimes.
Question for the moms who have been there already- diaper bag suggestions?? I've been looking and I can not find ANYTHING I like. MH found one for himself that he really likes so he ordered it, but everything I'm seeing is either ridiculously expensive or cheesy. Or really girly, and I know the baby isn't gonna care, but I'm having a boy, and I'm not super girly to begin with, so I'd prefer not to carry around something pink lol
So much movement the last couple of weeks...she tends to move more after I exercise and am sitting for the night. One night last week I had my husband put his hand on my stomach for a few minutes because she was moving a lot and even he was surprised at how much he could feel. She was either living her best life in there or she was mad. I hope she was having fun!
Also, I just noticed the March 2020 board is open. That makes me feel so far along!
I’m 23 wks today! Excited for each milestone, and especially as we get closer to viability. Unfortunately I haven’t really felt clear kicks. I am on the heavy side so I figured i would feel less (don’t know about the placenta) but the later it gets I get worried. Sometimes I feel sharp pains around my belly area and I’m wondering if that’s him jabbing. But I don’t feel anything moving so not sure....i get ultrasounds weekly so I know he’s doing ok in there, I just want to be part of it!
@natehk the window to feel kicks can be so wide! But I agree with you, that reassurance feels awesome. Also, seeing them move that much on the scan its like "how do I NOT feel that?!?!" Is this your first? If so, I feel like it took til around 24 or 25 weeks with my first to really know what the kicks felt like. Also you will eventually find the position you feel them roll and punch the most and then you will be able to just get in that position and feel them. I find for me that either sitting up cross legged helps me or slightly reclined with my legs gently cross legged is most effectly for feeling some rolls. And definitely relaxing in the tub! Drink some OJ and spend an hour just relaxing on the couch or in a chair and just focus. Pay attention to any movement, even if you think it is just regular stomach rolling or gas. Plus, I poke and prod my stomach a lot to try to get reactions. I can not wait for consistent movement!!
Bah. Just got a bill from nexgen for my genetic testing. My insurance paid some of it but they are still charging me the $199 limit. Which is what it would have been had I chosen to not go through insurance. And Ive met the deductible on my insurance and it was prior authorized by insurance because of my age. So annoyed I have to pay anything on top of what insurance covered.
@purplefan1 thanks for the info. And...last night I started to feel movement! I feel it more today all day. Less pain, and more like something is actually moving inside me. Its so crazy and amazing! Glad to finally be feeling it.
Just getting caught up after girls trip in Disney where it was hot as all else. Totally saw 3 people pass out from heat stroke so I hope everyone is staying cool.
Yay for movement for most! I am at the stage where I feel baby very regularly. Usually 3 or 4 little sessions a day. After each meal and after I sit for the night. Although I haven't felt anything or seen anything from the outside yet.
@angieeeeee - Diaper bag wise. When it was just one I loved my vera bradley over the shoulder and I got a pattern that I liked in blue but as a mom of two I do the backpack thing. I actually really like my kelty https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/kelty-super-cooler-chevron-backpack-diaper-bag-in-grey/5179760 Which I think has gone out of style but it is SO durable compared to all the cuter ones that I have had to toss and it easily fits the girls water bottles on the side.
I hope everyone had a good weekend/good 4th for those in the US! I feel like this weekend was exhausting, and I didn't even do that much. Potty training was not a success... lol. I think we need to give him a little more time and maybe try again when he's closer to 2.5, maybe his communication will be better.
I just spent 45 minutes on the phone with Natera. They never sent me a bill or an email when they applied the costs to my insurance. I have even called several times before today. They tried to tell me I had to pay the $1000 I was being billed because of my insurance deductible. I flat out told them no and that they promised I could have the special rate if it wasn’t covered by my insurance. So instead of paying $1000 they finally offered $249 which I promptly paid. What a mess.
I have been feeling soooo much movement all day at work today. That hasn’t happened yet because of my anterior placenta. Overnight I went from a few kicks at the end of the day while laying on the couch to constant kicks throughout the day. I’m loving it and hope DH can feel some tonight. Up until now they’ve been to sporadic so I’ll feel one, have him put his hand on my stomach and then nothing will happen for like 10 min so we’ll give up.
@kopp5988 That happened to me too! It went from an occasional 'maybe that's a kick?' to consistent, every day (sometimes all day) moving really quickly! I had no idea it would be this much movement this early! It's so fun!
I don't recall feeling this much movement with DS so maybe this one is just more of a mover, haha. I'm also feeling pretty consistent movement throughout the day and when I sit down at night.
@running4two yeah I had about a week of very sporadically feeling kicks at night to him going crazy yesterday. He's calmed down a bit today so far
My husband finally got to feel a kick last night!! I can definitely feel it more intense from the inside but he said it felt like a little flutter. I’m so glad he got to feel the baby move!
I just swam laps for 40 minutes. My plan is to do that 4 times a week so I can get back into shape. I also plan to start stretching more and maybe doing some cat/cow exercises. I know that will be more important in third tri to encourage the best position for labor and delivery. I feel like I have completely let myself go this time around and I need to get back to being more healthy.
@emeraldcity1214 I’ve been swimming once a week but now that I can’t run anymore plan to up it to twice and then maybe 3 times in the third trimester. I’ve done a whole bunch of triathlons so I’ve been swimming for fitness for a while now but heard it’s one of the best pregnancy workouts you can do because it’s no impact and the water helps reduce swelling.
@emeraldcity1214@kopp5988 swimming sounds so nice right about now! I wish I had access to a pool. Interesting about cat cow being good for third tri/positioning for labor, I definitely do a lot of cat cow as it is! It feels so good.

@angieeeeee I got this one https://www.amazon.com/Diaper-Bag-Nappy-Maman-Matching/dp/B01KL5LPHK/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=maman+diaper+bag&qid=1562587643&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1 which I really like a lot, I got it in navy which is less expensive than the black.
