Has anyone painted a crib before? We just got ours in yesterday. Seashell looked white in the store, but it’s more of a cream. Yesterday I decided I was ok with it, but today I’m questioning myself... I like the design but not sold on the color. My husband said he wouldn’t mind painting it if that what I want, but I’m so unsure. What if it doesn’t turn out well with the updated paint?
@sammygirl18 If you do decide to paint it yourself, I’d suggest doing some research on paint types. DD went through a phase where she chewed the rails and I’m sure she ate some paint along the way. I’m pretty sure paint with lead isn’t a thing anymore, but maybe some types of paint are safer than others.
@greenbean-2 that’s part of my hesitancy to paint it ourselves too. I did some light googling, but hadn’t found anything that was clearly safe!
I haven’t looked for years but I do remember there being a “food grade paint” you can use on your crib. Try searching for that. It was 7 years ago when I last looked into it but I do know it’s a thing.

@quidditchcapn1120 I've been stalking bigger rentals but everything requires moving back to my home town and I don't want my kids in that school. Plus DS might be in our towns preschool program and I need him to go to school this year. Moving would mean he wouldn't get in. Ughhh
@sammygirl18 also be sure to either sand it first or find a paint that can go on top of a semi gloss paint otherwise it'll chip super easily I honestly would return it if you can... With all the slats and nooks and crannies it's not going to be a super easy job 😬
Resurrecting because while we don't have a house yet, we have a plan! N's room is big enough for 2. So, if we don't have a house(or even lined up) by Aug, she and DS will be swapping and rooms painted neutral. DS will share the big room with DD until we have a house. I'm not sure what we will do on DSs side for decor but DD will be getting honey bees 😊
We made some big purchases yesterday! We bought the girls bunk beds and are moving them in together this weekend! I bought baby boy’s rug - pic below - and I’m going to pretty much build the room from there!
@marbellie That's adorable! When you first posted that wallpaper, I fell in love and plan to use it as well. It works perfectly for us as my husband loves planes (he works in the industry) and I want all the animals! I think you did a wonderful job.
@meagan-t yay, go for it and post a pic when you're done! Will it be an accent wall or the whole room? It would look great as either
I'm pushing for an accent wall. The room is 10' x 10' and a really pale green with dark gray carpet, so I'm hoping it will look okay. I also wanted horizontal white stripes on the opposite wall, but now I'm afraid it's going to clash (and we already bought the white, which isn't really white but an almost white green). 😬

We did a plane theme with my first, my husband also works in the industry!! If you are crafty, there are some really adorable projects out there!! I made plane shelves, a runway height chart, a felt mobile, a handpainted clock and a few other small things!!
I wish shipping was cheaper, I'd just send it all to you! It's just sitting in a closet because I can't stand the idea of just donating it all, but we're doing a different theme in the new house 😂
Reading all these ideas really makes me want to change the theme of DD's room since both kids will be in there. I kinda want to make it space theme. DD loves the moon and stars, etc. I think we could do some really cute things. Just not sure how budget friendly it would be.

Those glow in the dark stars can’t be that expensive 😉
