@cluckymama, I know a child named Riggan who goes by Riggs for short. My husband's name is Rafael and we call him Raf or Rafa for short. If we ever have a son his name will likely be Rafael.Β
@jhokaj524 My sister's name is Nina. It was a nn for Jeanine, but no one ever called her that from day one. My parents legally changed it before she went to kindergarten. (I think they had been swayed by my pushy grandma not to name her Nina in the first place and then finally realized their mistake). It's such a good name. I always wished growing up that it was mine.Β
@cluckymama Riggs reminds me of Lethal Weapon Are these ideas for first names or nicknames?
We've settled on William "Billy". I did tell me husband that, I REALLY want to name him Andrew. Before I found out I was pregnant I had a dream about my paternal grandfather, I actually never met him but I often dream of our dead relatives. Anyway...it's just always made me want to name the baby after him. I know....I'm weird
Anyway we had already agreed that the first boy would be William so...and I love the reason behind it so I'm not disappointed.
@jhokaj524 & @junebabyh That is kind of my thought, if we are going to call him that all the time, why not keep it short and not worry about it!
@Cass005 Bahaha - we might have gotten it from Lethal Weapon! Sort of, we love that show and movies but on our last babe we didnt know what we were having so we made name lists for both. I asked DH if he likes Briggs and he was like, what about Riggs?? and we both fell in love with it!Β Can you incorporate one or the other into a middle name? Like William Drew? or William Andrew?
@meagan-t I have to say i posted this on many baby name forums just to see the general consensus and last night DH and I talked and we definitely kept ones we absolutely love and nixed quite a few of them! and then added like 10 more... IDK why, I have two girls and names seemed so easy to come up with but boy names are hard for us!Β Β
@cluckymama Nah, we're naming the baby after h's grandfather, so...I doubt we'll be having anymore so...Hubby did say I could call him Andy if I wanted lol but that's just silly.
@melanier26 It's a nice name, it's very different cause I grew up with a ton of John's and Michaels so...
It feels so weird sometimes to say it, and I was kind of set against having a "gender neutral" name, even though Morgan is more of a girls name in the US (the only one I've ever known was a man so that didn't help). But the name has grown against me. My only *slight* qualm is I feel like it sounds really similar to DS' name and I just KNOW I'm going to get them confused sometimes (let's face it, even if the names were totally different, I'm for sure going to get confused anyways).

@stephanie123456 I absolutely love that name! I've always been a fan of Morgan my step sil's name is actually Morgan and she goes by Mo or MoMo and I love that lol
@stephanie123456 I love that name! I've known both sides of Morgan's, more girls than boys but it's still a really cute name! I love it! And my kiddos names are really close, but that doesnt stop me from calling them the wrong names π especially when all the nieces and nephews are together then everyone gets a new name π also the grandparents like to give the kiddos an alternative nickname(DS is George, my 2nd oldest nephew is Randy lol) it's something they've done since SO and SILs we're little so names really get confusing π
@cluckymama I really like Archer. One of my favorite books the main characters are Brigan and Archer and I really wanted to name our next son Brigan, but SO isn't very fond of it π I love it so maybe I'll get a pet named it someday lol I tried to get Archer as that's one of his favorite shows but he shot that down quick haha Nash is cute too and Zeke, I know 2 little boys named Zeke only and they're literally both super spunky and funny!!Β
Re: The Baby Names Thread
In good fun, I must admit that I was surprised I didn't see Stills (or Young) in there. π
@cheznet Thanks!
