Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Team Blue!!
Upcoming Appointments: Friday for my 24 week appointment and glucose test
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Feet hurt and some pretty severe acid reflex/heartburn. Still craving chocolate shakes, all the time.
Rants/Raves: I really feel like I’m falling way behind at work but I don’t really care that much 😬 that’s frustrating because I should care more.
Questions: Hundreds but I can’t think of a specific one right now.
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: baby is the size of the fertility idol in Indiana Jones 😂
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): girl 💖💖💖
Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday for my last monthly appointment! Every other week from then on 🙊
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms):
Feeling great! Little tired, little tailbone/pelvic pain, but mostly feeling good! Craving candy, which is very unlike me. I've had 3 bags of mini Sweet Tart chews in the past two weeks and I cannot stop!
Rants/Raves: My H's grandma did end up passing away. It's very sad of course, but I think the whole family is feeling relief that her suffering is over now. ❤ I'm so glad we went out last week to say goodbye (and I secretly told her the baby's name, which we won't be sharing... I haven't even told my H yet that I did this, but I know he'll be glad I did). We have the visitation and funeral this week, which is always emotionally draining. But at the same time, I'm looking forward to seeing that side of the family. The silver linings, I guess, is that the whole family will be together. It will be nice to see the family, and also spend some time with my ILs new puppy. Also super selfish pregnant lady confession: I'm looking forward to eating Portillos since we'll be near one. I'm so terrible, I know!
Questions: my baby was breech at her 20w anatomy scan. I know 20w is super early and she has plenty of time to flip. But does anyone know how/when they will check if she did? Will I get another U/S at some point to check her position?
GTKY: Fave summer snack? My fav summer snack is what I call poor man's caprese salad: I take grape tomatoes from our garden, slice them in half, and mix with the mini mozzarella pearls, EVOO, balsamic vinegar, basil, and salt and pepper. So yummy and refreshing!
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Babys palm is the size of an altoid
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM(ish)
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Pink and she does have a name.
Upcoming Appointments: Not until July
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Feeling pretty good. Sleep is going downhill again though.
Rants/Raves: Rant- I'm just going to move into a cardboard box. I can build 1 big enough I think. Rave- my dentist appt was super quick and since he only needed to file down a few fillings from the last appt no novocain!
Questions:
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Smores, cherries, among lots if other things lol
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: 🤷🏼♀️ I never know this. Feels like a bowling ball, though
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): pink
Upcoming Appointments: MW and MFM w/ growth scan on Thursday
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): tired. So, so tired
Rants/Raves: T-3 days until V Day!!
every time I look in the nursery, I feel overwhelmed by what i need to do. Sigh... I keep telling myself I have time, but I also know that I only have a few more weeks before I won’t be able to bend up and down anymore 😪
@emily1052, I like your disclaimer 😂 I like reading the check-ins too, I'm weird like that 😉 And I know I will contradict myself by tagging people in here (LOL) but I feel like a lot more of the interaction and getting to know you type stuff happens in the Randoms threads. No one should feel obligated to tag everyone in the check-ins, where our answers are all pretty similar.
@prpl11butterfly, I just had fresh cherries for pretty much the first time recently, and OMG are they good! I had no idea. I grew up with a cherry tree in our yard, and those cherries were too tart for me, so I always assumed I didn't care for fresh cherries. Turns out our cherry tree just wasn't great and didn't produce the sweet kind. I can't believe I missed out on such a tasty healthy snack all these years!
@galentineonce shes bigger they will be able to feel where she's at. And you will too 😉 I'm sorry to hear about YHs grandmother. Keeping you in my thoughts ❤
Theyll start manually checking position around 28/30w. They’ll press on your stomach to feel her position and tell you. It’s not common to get an ultrasound to solely confirm they’re head down. It’s usually only to confirm being breech before doing a c section
I agree with previous ladies - I am bad about tagging in here but that is just because it moves quickly and I struggle to keep up. I absolutely love reading everyone's updates!
Now, to contradict myself - @galentine So sorry to hear about YH's grandmother, but I do hope your family can find peace and comfort in celebrating her together. Also, as a fellow Portillo's junkie I'm happy you get to indulge!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/7, 23+0
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Today she weighs as much as a soccer ball, which is especially fun because DH is a college soccer coach!
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Pink, Brielle (Ella)
Upcoming Appointments: This Friday
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Honestly I feel great! Haven't been sick at all, headaches are getting better, and my energy is good. Been having trouble staying asleep at night but otherwise all good. Cravings-wise, I am still obsessed with hot dogs. DH says I'm going to turn into a hot dog. Lately it's been grilled, on a bun, with ketchup, mustard, relish, hot peppers, and sauerkraut. Delish but rather difficult to eat with all of those toppings on it!
Rants/Raves: Rave: Little lady is wiggling and kicking all over the place lately and I love it so much! She responds to DH's voice really well and starts moving and shaking as soon as he leans over to talk to her. It's the sweetest thing ever. Rant: I'm starting to get impatient to start on the nursery! We are finishing out our basement and the guest room will move down there - but DH and his stepdad are doing it on their own and I feel like it's taking way to long. His stepdad lives five hours away so just comes out for the weekend when he can and they work on it. He's a contractor, so they are doing amazing work and I know it will look great, but I'm half tempted to just hire someone local to get the damn thing done already!
Questions: Nada
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Peaches and cream - we get amazing Colorado peaches where I live and I eat them sliced and topped with some half n half pretty much all of July and August.
@galentine sorry for your family’s loss. Glad you’re able to find some silver linings in your situation. And I LOVE and make that kind of caprese salad all the time! I also love watermelon, basil and feta salads!!
@jenferlee82 I lived in Colorado for most my life and had no idea that “Colorado peaches” were a thing!! It must be a western slope crop.
@emily1052 Yep, it is a western slope crop! They are hugely popular here in Kansas - there’s one orchard in particular that comes to our local farmers market, and they sell out in the first hour most weeks!
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: a coconut, which is funny since I've been calling baby Coco since early on.
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Blue. No final decisions on a name, but we are narrowing down the list.
Upcoming Appointments: end of June
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Good most days, but yesterday I was having major pelvic floor issues. Felt like baby could have fallen out! Maybe b/c I was on my feet a lot over the weekend?? Today I'm better, though I've been mostly sitting at my desk.
Rants/Raves: *TW* A Rant + a Rave: Today is my EDD with our loss baby. And I'm not really that sad (or as sad as I thought I'd be).
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Caprese salad is definitely our favorite. We eat it practically every night in the summer.
@emily1052 Well put! No one should feel like they need to comment on everyone or at all (unless they would like to).
@galentine So sorry about YH's grandma Glad that you guys had that special moment.
@cmbt2@jenferlee82 I'm also wanting to start getting stuff ready (even though we still have lots of time) because I NEED A CLEAN HOUSE DARN IT!!
EDD / Weeks + Days: 10/14 - 22 weeks
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Little girl has eyelashes and eyebrows!
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM (DS is almost 5)
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): pink... and we are definitely going with the middle name 'Virginia'
Upcoming Appointments: 24w appt & GD 1-hr test on 6/25
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Meh (as usual). This girl is going to end up not having a sweet tooth like her dad with how much sugar I'm craving (for the record, with DS I only wanted lemon and spicy and he LOVES anything sweet).
Rants/Raves: I was slightly motivated to do laundry this weekend... but it's all sitting in the hamper waiting to be folded, which means it needs to be put back in the dryer to get the wrinkles out
Questions: nope
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Ice cream!!
ETA spelling sucks

@stephanie123456, I was tempted to list ice cream as my fav summer treat after my monologue last week, but let's be honest here.... ice cream is really a year-round treat 😉
Also I'm glad you are using Virginia! Is the first name decided/are you going to tell us??
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: American guinea pig

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Blue! 💙
Upcoming Appointments: I need to schedule my glucose test/next appt
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Pre-pregnancy I couldn’t eat (most) dairy or things that are tomato-based but for the last few months I’ve been doing fine with pizza. Until last week, and now last night. I have the worst acid reflux I’ve ever had 🤢 So gross. No more pizza for me!
Rants/Raves: My family’s vacation isn’t off to a great start. It rained all morning and they’re calling for it all week. My husband set up our 8x8’ canopy tent for me to sit under on the beach and the wind destroyed it and I can’t handle the heat in the sun. I’m trying not to get super discouraged. We do have a pool so I can spend time there if nothing else but I’ve been looking forward to sitting with my feet in the sand and a good book!
Questions: For those who take Zantac daily, how much do you take? I’ve been taking 75mg as needed but I know 150 is okay. Do you take 150 once or twice per day?
GTKY: Fave summer snack? It’s not a snack but corn on the cob is my favorite!
@melanier26 i do 150mg in the morning and 75mg at night. You can do 150mg twice a day if needed. How long have you given it to help? It can take a few days to see a real difference when on the class B reflux meds
When we put DS2 on Zantac, the pediatrician explained it like this- on a manufacturing line, you have the corporate office that tells the plant to produce the product, and then you have the plant that is producing. Zantac (and Pepcid) works by intercepting at the corporate office and saying “stop!” before it reaches the plant. It can take a little while for the command to reach the plant. Prevacid and Prilosec work by running straight to the plant and going “halt production!!”
@cmbt2 Thanks for the info. It just started overnight. I don’t know if I have IBS or just sensitivity to those foods but when I get a “flare up” it tends to (TMI) affect my bowels. Last night the reflux started to the point of bile actually coming up, which I’ve never had before. I took 150mg around 3 am and just took 150 now. After it seems under control I’ll probably decrease how much I take as long as that works. I was just taking it as needed before but I’m thinking I need to just stay on it at this point
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Paper airplane, though I can't say that's fair. Depends on the size of the paper. 😉
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Holding steady on team green! 💚
Upcoming Appointments: No more until July 2
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Overall pretty good! My entire pelvic region is sore when I stand up (especially the tailbone), but it eventually fades a bit. My feet hurt, I have a light pregnancy line, and I'm getting new, non-puberty stretch marks. My energy is decent about every other day or so, which is very welcome! I wake up multiple times a night to pee and/or change my night gown and get a towel for my sweatiness. Truthfully, I'll still take all these symptoms over morning sickness!
I'm still somewhat craving spicy food, and I want all the sweets I can get my hands on. I've always enjoyed ice cream, but like once, maybe twice a week. My husband is loving that I "need" it nearly every day these days. This baby is definitely another Mini Moo! 🐮
Rants/Raves: Things are finally coming together with our attempt to move out of our old house. It's been way too long of a process! My husband came home with a Uhaul yesterday and a couple of his friends came over. They were going to move the old fridge that the owners left here to the old house (we didn't want it and it'll help the value of the old house), but when he came back, I was expecting maybe a few boxes. Nope. My incredible husband and his amazing friends got my outdoor tables, outdoor rug, hammock, and deck box for me! My husband said, "I know your outdoor things would make you happy, so we got as much as we could." I was so happy! I love these guys! 💛💛💛
Questions: Shoot. I had one and forgot it. I normally have a steel trap for a memory, but recently it's been garbage (or as my husband likes to say, a wooden trap).
GTKY: Fave summer snack? All the fruits! But that's really a year-round thing for me. Give me all the veggies and fruits you have! I don't know the word moderation with respect to these things. Oops.
@stephanie123456 love the name Virginia!! Reminds me of the Train song “Meet Virginia” 🥰
@melanier26 so sorry you’re having heart burn! Have you tried Zantac? It’s helping me way more than tumms. You just have to take it every 12 hours. (I’m taking 150 twice a day)
@emily1052 I feel the same way at work. Usually I'm so ahead of the game, but lately I couldn't care less how far behind I've gotten.
@galentine I'm so sorry about YH's grandma passing, but at least she isn't suffering.
@junebabyh I'm glad that your rant and rave are the same. Sometimes a milestone date can cause more heartache than necessary so I'm happy that you made it through.
@melanier26 I'm sorry your trip has been a bit of a bummer so far. Hope things start to turn up for you.

Upcoming
Appointments: the 17th to see
Doc and next US is July 5th.
How
are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Sleeping
is ….I restless, and I’ve been waking up earlier which is great but just odd.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I have too much to do…. Rave: I’m going to see
my pseudo parents on Sunday and cannot wait. They’re one of my best friends
parents and they absolutely love DD and are so good to us. Were going for a
father’s day/birthday BBQ, I just can’t wait to see them.
Questions: Baby Facts Pools: We want to do a pool/game at work to guess
gender and all that stuff but I don’t know if I can hold this secret for very
long. So I’m not sure if we should just do guesses no like weight and length,
etc…what do you guys think? We didn’t do this at my last job when I was pregnant
with DD.
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Rita’s Water Ice or Custard
@Cass005 my job always talks about starting one and never has gotten it done in time 🤣 as the sex has always been revealed, they talked about doing DOB, length of labor, and length/weight.
My workmate threw out the length of labor one when his gf had an emergency c section when her BP skyrocketed and baby was still breeched at 38w (they didn’t want to risk a version followed by induction), so they’re planning DOB and weight/length for DD.
Theyll start manually checking position around 28/30w. They’ll press on your stomach to feel her position and tell you. It’s not common to get an ultrasound to solely confirm they’re head down. It’s usually only to confirm being breech before doing a c section
@galentine sorry about your husband's grandma but what a special thing to share the name before she passed. Know they can be wrong and baby can still flip up until the end! My first flipped really late and with my second at around 34 weeks she was feeling my stomach and was like "Oh yeah, this baby is definitely breech" and ordered an ultrasound. Went for an US and the baby was not breech (as I suspected!) and I felt like it was such a pointless ultrasound.
On the subject of breech - anyone here have a vaginal breech birth? I'd love to hear!
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Green
Upcoming Appointments: next week and then I think we will be on to every 2 after that as well. Crazy how fast it seems to be going!
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Big, just big. A lot bigger at this point but 3rd baby I guess ha. Feeling my energy levels starting to slow. I've been getting some pretty bad leg cramps during the night and an old knee injury is flaring up so that has been annoying. Other than that not too bad.
Rants/Raves: Really enjoying the baby movements and trying to cherish it as this will be our last. It's a weird thing for me to think that wow this is going to be the last time I feel this in my life.
Questions:
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Melons and Caprese Salads as well- So satisfying!
I want to add that if you’re told baby is breeched, there’s things you can do to help encourage baby to flip... I chased DS2 around with an ice pack to get him to flip 😂
I want to add that if you’re told baby is breeched, there’s things you can do to help encourage baby to flip... I chased DS2 around with an ice pack to get him to flip 😂
@cmbt2 When we get closer to october you’ll have to share the details in case any of us need to try it 😆

@cmbt2 When we get closer to october you’ll have to share the details in case any of us need to try it 😆
It was quite amusing. He was 32w and refusing to flip. spinning babies did nothing. I had until 34w to flip him myself or we’d try more aggressive chiropractor (3x a week visits to a specialized chiropractor) and other options (i didn’t learn what these where other than a version at 37w)
I sat in my chair, placed one ice pack on the top of my stomach, and as he tried to twist away, I took another one and followed his head. He eventually gave a giant roll and then kicked off the ice pack. He went transversed a few days later, so I again chased him with the ice pack back to head down. He learned his lesson to stay head down lol. My MW taught me what his head felt like so I could identify it.
@cmbt2 That is hilarious. I have never heard of that method. Sounds... painful?? Was going to recommend some prenatal yoga to start with, lol... which is what worked for me and DS2 when he was still breech at 32 weeks.
Questions: my baby was breech at her 20w anatomy scan. I know 20w is super early and she has plenty of time to flip. But does anyone know how/when they will check if she did? Will I get another U/S at some point to check her position?
You’ll have a growth scan in your 30th (something) week. They’ll be able to tell you how big your baby is and what to expect “weight wise” when you deliver and they’ll be able to see if she’s head down.
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Papaya (appropriate since this is the week I started taking papaya enzyme for heartburn!)
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM, DS is 3
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Blue!
Upcoming Appointments: Follow-up anatomy scan tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed for good news!
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Heartburn, not sleeping well, rhinitis aggravated by allergies. Other than that pretty good though. No specific cravings.
Rants/Raves: Busy week at work this week as our Sales team is in town and I'm also traveling Thursday for a client meeting. Upside to their visit is we have a very nice multi-team dinner tomorrow night, so I have that to look forward to.
Questions:
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Farm fresh fruit and berries. I almost went strawberry picking this weekend, but chose not to when I realized how much hunching and crouching that would be. Next year though!
Team Blue! We were all set on Maximillian for a boy, first when pregnant with DD1 and then with DD2 but now with this one we've met enough Max's that we don't like, so it's back to the drawing board for us.
Upcoming Appointments: theoretically tomorrow but my job squished a super important meeting in there so it got pushed back by 2 weeks.
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Totally out of breath and I've gotten out the belly support band thingy I didn't need at all with DD1 and only after week 30 with DD2. It feels so good to lessen the pulling sensation on my skin.
Rants/Raves: WTF June. I've got two seminars I need to attend OOT for work and of course allll the deadlines are NOW. At least July will be calmer, right? Right? Rave: of course they still fight, but DD1 and DD2 are really starting to get into their play together groove right now. I know DD1 struggles with jealousy a lot and to see DD2 go to her and ask her (and not me!) to play just warms my heart.
@galentine - my parents have a sour cherry tree in their yard because my dad prefers them. When we moved out of our old apartment I gave them the cherry tree SO had given me for my birthday and we planted it in their yard, so now when I visit I can snack on the "good" kind of cherries

Not all practices do a growth scan. Mine does not.

As a general rule mine does not either, which was why I wondered if positioning would change that. Interesting how different practices fo things do differently.
@galentine I would think if she feels breech by hand they will do an US to confirm before moving right to a CS. But with DS, I could feel what I knew was his butt based on where/how I was feeling kicks. If she is breech, I'm sure her head will be very noticeable even to untrained hands.

This is the only standard time to get an ultrasound for position only- right before the c section because, if you don’t want one and have the chance to try vaginally, they want to be able to give you that chance.
My OB with DS1 would do one once you were admitted for an induction as a precaution, but that’s not standard

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Paper airplane, though I can't say that's fair. Depends on the size of the paper. 😉

Oops.
Edited to correct my weeks/days. 🤦
@melanier26 so sorry you’re having heart burn! Have you tried Zantac? It’s helping me way more than tumms. You just have to take it every 12 hours. (I’m taking 150 twice a day)

@galentine I'm so sorry about YH's grandmother. I'm so glad you guys got to spend those last moments with her.
@jenferlee82 Oh that snack sounds awesome!! My Aunt and Uncle's Farm does donut peaches and they are so yummy I bet that would be great. They can just get too sweet sometimes

How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): Sleeping is ….I restless, and I’ve been waking up earlier which is great but just odd.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I have too much to do…. Rave: I’m going to see my pseudo parents on Sunday and cannot wait. They’re one of my best friends parents and they absolutely love DD and are so good to us. Were going for a father’s day/birthday BBQ, I just can’t wait to see them.
Questions: Baby Facts Pools: We want to do a pool/game at work to guess gender and all that stuff but I don’t know if I can hold this secret for very long. So I’m not sure if we should just do guesses no like weight and length, etc…what do you guys think? We didn’t do this at my last job when I was pregnant with DD.
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Rita’s Water Ice or Custard
My workmate threw out the length of labor one when his gf had an emergency c section when her BP skyrocketed and baby was still breeched at 38w (they didn’t want to risk a version followed by induction), so they’re planning DOB and weight/length for DD.

Just a normal OB appointment on the 19th
Pretty Good. No Symptoms, besides having some hip pain at night.
White Nectarines.
You’ll have a growth scan in your 30th (something) week. They’ll be able to tell you how big your baby is and what to expect “weight wise” when you deliver and they’ll be able to see if she’s head down.
