Questions: my baby was breech at her 20w anatomy scan. I know 20w is super early and she has plenty of time to flip. But does anyone know how/when they will check if she did? Will I get another U/S at some point to check her position?
You’ll have a growth scan in your 30th (something) week. They’ll be able to tell you how big your baby is and what to expect “weight wise” when you deliver and they’ll be able to see if she’s head down.
Not all practices do a growth scan. Mine does not.
Mine have never done growth scans unless there was a medical indication for having one. They’re not done as standard care
@galentine I would think if she feels breech by hand they will do an US to confirm before moving right to a CS. But with DS, I could feel what I knew was his butt based on where/how I was feeling kicks. If she is breech, I'm sure her head will be very noticeable even to untrained hands.
This part is unbelievable to me! Not like I don't believe you, I do. As a FTM, I just can't yet comprehend being able to distinguish body parts! Crazy! ❤

They should teach you how! At a certain point, you’ll be able to distinguish the hands/feet from elbows and knees, too. You’ll be able to physically feel out parts.

I'm with you - logically I know this is true but conceptually I have a hard time believing it right now. So cool!
@galentine sorry for your families loss, but I hope you enjoy getting to see family. Sorry about the breech presentation, hopefully she’ll turn for you. @cmbt2 I can relate to that feeling like a bowling ball baby. I was just having this exact nursery discussion with DH yesterday. I know we won’t even use it at first, but I’m slowly running out of time I’ll want to/able to do stuff with it. @jenferlee82 now I desperately need peach’s. I am going to wait a few more weeks and hopefully the farmers market will have them. As long as floods didn’t effect them. @junebabyh *hugs* @stephanie123456 I absolutely love the name Virginia, especially for a middle. It’s so classic. @melanier26 I’m sorry about the uncooperative weather literally dampening your vacation. @cooaladolly ice pops always sound nice to me in theory, until I try to eat one, my teeth completely disagree. @mrsinterweb I completely forgot about papaya extract, I did that with DS, it definitely helped me. Good Luck at U/S
I was never good at distinguishing body parts, and my doctor never taught us 🤷🏼♀️. Maybe because I was getting biweekly ultrasounds.

I'm always amazed when moms can do this. With my second I thought "surely I'll be able to figure it out this time." And it still felt like I'd swallowed a bag of snakes.
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Shes supposed to be the size of a dragon egg. She’s also sleeping 12-14 hrs a day LUCKY!
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM+
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Pink, I think we have a name but haven’t said officially yet.
Upcoming Appointments: June 26 for U/S with MFM and I’ll see my regular OB as well
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): I’ve been craving yogurt with fresh fruit, berries and honey in the morning. Otherwise no strong cravings, well ice cream but that’s all the time. I have been having a crazy amount of back pain the past week. I’m need to remember to put a pillow between my knees, if they doesn’t help I’ll pull out the pregnancy pillow.
Rants/Raves: I miss having energy and strength. I miss exercise but I am getting so short of breath I can’t really do anything. My OB told me if I have to use my inhaler more than 3 times a week I’m going to need to see a specialist 😑 so I’m just avoiding things that will make me SOB.
Questions: Nothing
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Strawberries and peaches. Preferably with vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream. Or grilled peaches with honey.
I am so excited to see how many of us are saying baby has a name, maybe not quite official yet, or not yet said out loud, but mostly decided on. This is so exciting! It's getting real! ❤❤❤

When other people call her by name it really sets in that "omg" feeling for me.
@kindbytealikat Same with the asthma. I was so annoyed last night when my lungs only lasted for half of my run. My doctor just weaned me off my steroid inhaler, so I should probably take it easier too
@prpl11butterfly The "reply" button doesn't work for me but that is totally how I feel!! I swear, it took DH and I forever to settle on DS' name but this one came a little easier (and it wasn't a name we had previously agreed on).
TTC #1: September 2013, BFP 01/01/14, DS 09/14 TTC #2: October 2018, BFP 02/02/19, EDD 10/14/19
@mrsinterweb good luck today at your scan! 🤞🏼 For great news!
@grapeskittles4lyfe love to hear that DD’s are starting to play well together. I have all sisters and love them dearly!!
@galentine DH and I had a couple of names picked out but nothing for sure yet. I sent DH to fill out daycare paperwork last week and he filled it in with the name I like the most.... I was like “soooo.... this is it?” 😂😱 Since then we’ve been using it a lot more and I think it’s going to stick.
@emily1052, ahhh how exciting! My H is 100% set on our name, and I'm like.... 99.9%. I don't really have doubts, and I don't see it changing, but it's just such a big commitment! I'm scared! LOL
@galentine We were 99% committed to DD’s name but had a back up just in case it felt wrong when we saw her. We stuck with the original name and now I can’t imagine calling her something else.
EDD / Weeks + Days: 20+4
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: paper airplane

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): team blue. Those of you with good memories may remember that we were considering a name that’s the boy version of my niece’s name. We mentioned it to SIL and to my surprise she was more than ok with it. I think we’re more or less set on 2 names we want to use, but haven’t decided which should be a first name and which should be the middle name.
Upcoming Appointments: not until end of June
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): pretty good! Other than insomnia. Yoga and foam rolling are keeping my sciatica in check. Hooray!
Rants/Raves: I feel so unprepared considering I’m halfway to baby. We’ve done nothing other than get on the waitlist for daycare.
Questions:
GTKY: Fave summer snack? Yes to all of the fresh fruit. Also I love making the trip to Rita’s which is only open seasonally near us. If we’re talking summer food at a carnival or fair, then I’m going with deep fried Oreos - but only once a year.

My oldest refers to DD by name and I call her by her nickname in my Jan’15 group. I’m worried DS1 will slip up when my ILs are here. He already blabbed to his PT 🤣🤣

We had 2 names picked out for DS too. I was 75% sure we’d go with the one name but once I saw him I knew the other name was his.
I'm always amazed when moms can do this. With my second I thought "surely I'll be able to figure it out this time." And it still felt like I'd swallowed a bag of snakes.
lol omg this was the best thing I read so far haha.
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: grapefruit!
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM, DS is 4 in July, DD is 2 1/2
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Team Green💚 we have a boy and girl name picked!!
Upcoming Appointments: today! At 930, we talk about the glucose screen eep.
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): sooooo much heartburn😩 the ultrasound tech said she thought she saw hair already which doesn't surprise me lol lots of back pain and I think Braxton Hicks contractions???? Never had them before but at work last week my lower back was getting really tight and then crampy feeling, like the period back pains I get. It would come and go through the day but it hurt!! I've never had this!
Rants/Raves: rants, more like a confession. The only thing ive gotten for this baby is a bassinet and the carseat. We're trying to build our credit to get a bigger vehicle and I figure the baby will have a few months in the bassinet so I can wait on a crib. Also hoping we can find a bigger place by the time the baby comes. Urgh
Questions: just bout the Braxton Hicks, anyone able to explain this 😅
GTKY: Fave summer snack? fresh fruit, summer sausage and cheese, berries and summer drinks!
So we do a biophysical ultrasound right before delivery, it's also tied in with a stress test and kinda a sneak peek of the on floor cause that's where they do it. Both mine were around 39 weeks(assuming I would have delivered at 40) and took about an hour and a half. Both times, they measured my kids way more than they were! Freaked me out, they also we're concerned with DS cause his head measured almost 2 weeks behind at it. Thankfully nothing came of it. They told me 8lbs 3 oz with DS and DD measured at like 8 lbs 6oz. Neither of them weighed that thankfully! Edited for a Prego brain misspell🤦🏽♀️
Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: A bottle of Sriracha
FTM/STM/TTM+: 4thTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green (and share name if you feel comfortable): Team Green for the first time.
Upcoming Appointments: July 5th
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): I’ve started feeling like a beached whale, my sciatica pain is starting to get noticeably worse, and I’m exhausted worse than the first tri but other than that I’m actually feeling really well.
Rants/Raves: My BP is starting to creep up. I get PIH every pregnancy and I was hoping that it wouldn’t start creeping up until closer to 30 weeks.
@sweetteaandswingsmama have they placed you on baby aspirin and magnesium for the BP? If I wasn’t already on it, they were going to put me on it to help with my climbing BP, too
@emily1052 Yep, it is a western slope crop! They are hugely popular here in Kansas - there’s one orchard in particular that comes to our local farmers market, and they sell out in the first hour most weeks!
Is it the Palisade peaches? I live in Colorado and when I want them I know I have to get to the farmers market right when they open because they sell so fast!!! If it wasn’t such a long drive we’d go pick them ourselves ℓσℓ
I do have some family in Grand Junction so I guess we could call it a family get together 😂

Team Blue but no name yet! Middle name will be James for my grandfather.
Upcoming Appointments: Just had a routine appt today, I'll have my follow up US next Friday to check on my placenta to see if it's moved up at all.
How are you feeling? (Cravings/Symptoms): I'm feeling pretty good, but my SI joint pain is fairly consistent and I already have pubic symphysis pain which is no bueno. Also the MON leg cramps have started! Noooo!!!
Rants/Raves: Rave: My mom offered to buy us a new glider!! Yay!! Well, at least contribute to it depending on what we pick out. But I'm so excited, the glider I have in DD's room was so uncomfortable for all night sitting, I vowed to get a new one for baby #2 but they are so expensive!
Rant: My mom (lol that she's my rant AND rave) also explained to me yesterday how cramped we're going to be in our current condo when baby comes. YES MOM, THAT IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION.
Questions: Shoot I had a couple and now I can't think of them. I'll have to come back to this...
GTKY: Fave summer snack? I don't know about favorite snack but I loooooove fresh fruit from the farmers market!!
