Today is my intake appointment at my midwife's office. Last time, I had a family dr throughout my pregnancy and for my delivery. I thought I would go with a family dr again, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to take things slow and "enjoy" this pregnancy... Hence I changed my mind and went with a midwife. Looking forward to seeing how things are different with a midwife vs Dr!
We decided to opt for an early U/S this time so I've got a first appointment with the midwife who caught my DS scheduled for June 19th to see if we can see a heartbeat (or at least a fetal pole and sac) at 6.5 weeks. Fingers crossed! Also I'm a bit anxious to be told that there's only one baby in there... I've been reassured a ton now that STMs get symptoms early, but I will feel better with the MW confirms it.
I have an early u/s next Wednesday. Normally I'd wait another month, but we don't live near any family and happen to be seeing both of our families in mid-June, so are hoping to see a heartbeat so we feel more comfortable telling everyone. I know we might not yet though, so we'll see what happens.
June 22nd is when I'll get my dating ultrasound. I'm not used to minimal ultrasounds... Given my history of losses, I had tons of them with my DD. I'm trying to not be anxious about it, and we shall see how things go.
I have an US scheduled for June 17, at 7+2. We'll be visiting my parents in the US, so my mom was able to schedule one for me then. I'll have another one at 9+ 5 with my new OB.
My first appointment with my midwife will be at 9-10wks so not for another 4ish weeks. I haven’t scheduled it yet. I did text her right away to tell her I was already pregnant again and ask if she would save a spot for me. It’s sooo nice not to have to stress about insurance issues and finding a care provider this time around. That could be part of the reason I feel so much more relaxed about everything than I did with my first.
since i'm still with the RE, i've had two betas already (5/30 = 203. 6/1 = 438). i have a bw/us appt June 10. fingers crossed everything is progressing
Bloodwork today. I had to bring my younger four, so I told the front I am not saying anything yet. PLEASE DON’T mention it because my daughter will pick up on it. Everyone got the memo except my OB. Lol, he walked around the corner and was like “Are you pregnant!!!”. Then another nurse and I am all like “I don’t know, I don’t know, no, uh...uh...ugh”. Y’all, I haven’t told my husband yet because I wanted to wait until father’s day to do something special and he is going to be pissed if he finds out from the kids. Ahhh!!!!
They got my blood work results back and want me to do a repeat test. She said that it's very possible that since it's so early that's why it's not where they want it to be. I kind of want to know the numbers so I can go down a Google hole and cross reference but gah. A week sounds like forever!
@brookert615 ugh, sorry you have to wait. That is so hard. For what it’s worth, I had the same thing happen but there was a good rise for the second draw. The waiting sucks though. Hang in there!
@brookert615 i’d like to know the numbers too. This early there is such a varying degree of normal.
My results came back too and there was slight concern in their voice because my numbers are low. However, they didn’t listen to me that I was only 10 dpo and I think those numbers are pretty normal. HCG 22 and Progesterone 23. The progesterone is the lowest i’ve received over the years, but I still think it is pretty normal for 10 dpo, right? I go back tomorrow for repeat. I hate we are going into the weekend waiting. I am debating on going to a lab and getting a test to get quicker results, but vowed not to be so cray cray this time around, but I am not sure I can control it.
@DDRRT1982 It is frustrating! I’m 11 DPO and turned a test 8 DPO I wonder if they just didn’t want to make me worry without giving me the exact numbers? I’m sorry they didn’t listen to you! From what I read the normal for 3 and 4 week HCG levels is like 5-400 something I think. I came home and took another test and it did have a darker line than yesterday. I think that’s the only thing keeping me sane along with the hot and heavy symptoms. But I did read somewhere medexpress will do them? Maybe it’s worth a call!
My first appointment is July 10th which will be 10 weeks. Kind of freaking out because that seems so far away... this is my first and I want to make sure I’m doing everything right!
@brookert615 Fingers crossed that those numbers rise!
@DDRRT1982 if it makes you feel better, my progesterone was only a 4.7 yesterday at exactly 4 weeks / 14 dpo. I’m super nervous and started progesterone. They didn’t do a beta... seeing an RE on June 12 since it was our sixth+ cycle and I’m AMA. We will see what they say!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
Same, @Mommyj14 ! I’ll be 7 weeks then (assuming i make it that far... so nervous this won’t stick- is anyone else like that?) June 27 seems like forever away.
@NYTino24 thanks! So glad you are starting supplements and have a plan. I have a sweet four year old that more than likely had a smoother pregnancy due to progesterone. Sometimes we just need it. Wondering if I will this time too.
@mslan after I posted above I went right online and ordered tests. You are so right it’s just in our nature. It gives me the illusion I have a little bit of control over something I really don’t.
A little over 24 hrs later my hcg went from 22 to 52 and my progesterone from 23.4 to 41.87. It’s times like these that I am happy that I am a little crazy. Now I can enjoy my weekend.

@DDRRT1982 glad you got good news and can enjoy your wine! Wait. Why did my phone autocorrect wkend to wine?!? We aren’t supposed to be drinking wine, phone. Why don’t you rub it in some more?
My first ultrasound isn’t until 7/8. I would usually go around six or seven weeks, but the holiday makes it tricky. They said I could come in before, but it might put me a little too early and I am not waiting two weeks for a follow up. That would drive me crazy and worry the shit out of me, so I pushed it back to eight weeks and after the holiday. This way if any follow up is necessary it can happen quickly or I can go to my perinatologist. My babies tend to develop a little slower at the six week mark, but are just fine by eight weeks, so I have decided my sanity is more important. My gut says all is ok with the baby, so let’s just go with that.
Doctor called with results, levels went up to over 5000, which I have never gotten much higher than 2000 in my previous ones. Praying for a sticky baby this time around. She said I won't have to get any more blood tests and they want me to come in for an early ultrasound this Friday! I've never been more excited, I'll be counting down the hours!
My first ultrasound is June 27th and I'll be 8+5. Trying not to worry but had a m/c in March so the 27th can't come soon enough! At 4+3 I had my blood draw and HCG was over 6000 and progesterone was already at 27 so the obgyn says I don't have anything to worry about. Still feels like an eternity away though. Can't wait to hear a little heartbeat!
I have high beta numbers too. We did IvF, so we transferred 2, 5 day blastocyst embryos. On the 9 days post transfer my beta was 337, at 11 days it was 1014, so it tripled rather than doubled.
We have our first ultrasound on the 26th. I am definitely anxious to see if one or both of the embryos took. With numbers higher than average, we know there is a decent chance of twins. We are lucky to have a pregnancy, one or two!
I just got my blood work today and I'm anxiously awaiting my results that they said will most likely be tomorrow. So I'm just going to be pacing until I get them lol. I did take my last First Response pregnancy test just because the line progression is the only thing keeping me sane and the test line was darker than the control line so I felt good about that!
@brookert615 your facility takes a long time to process! My office told me to call them 3 hours after the draw for results. If I were you, I would just call your office a couple hours before they close and ask for your results. Couldn’t hurt!
@daffodil_shoe It's the longest 24 hours, I swear! It was at Quest Diagnostics so maybe that's why? My doctor's office is in a hospital so they just told me to go to a lab since it's super close to my work.
