Re: Weekly Randoms 5/28

  • @mrsinterweb Hope it goes well and he has as a blast!

DS was up late last night at a baseball game with DH and FiL then woke up early this morning. We’ve got a full day with his tball game and an anniversary party for my ILs. I’m anticipating lots of whining today 🙄

  • Very random, but yesterday my 4 year old ran up and gave me a super hard hug/squeeze on my stomach...I haven’t felt the baby move much yet and MAN did he kick back hard! It was so abrupt and he only did it once but it was funny !

Another totally random comment...I’m watching Frozen with my girls and it made me think...maybe they find their parents in Frozen #2?

    Yeah random for sure

I have no idea if it’s going to be disproven or not, but I remember it going around a few years ago!

Ugh. DS1 was sick all weekend. Getting him to relax is a joke. His fever finally broke at nap today, and I’m hoping it stays away this time.

I had my seedlings outside on our back steps since the builder said no planting yet due to them dragging their asses on getting our yard in. Well, it rained hard and completely soaked them. I had do emergency transplanting into pots to save what I could. When they cleared the area for the development, they removed every tree so it’s a giant wind valley here now. I‘m just hoping my seedlings can survive the wind for the next couple weeks in the pots

so this is not really trashy TV, but I've been enjoying Working Moms on Netflix - has anyone seen that? It cracks me up!
Working Moms is good! I didn't want to like it, but I totally did. Right now I'm getting into What If.
I really loved the first season.  Is the second season out/on Netflix yet?

No second season yet, and the only announcement I read was Spring 2019, which is darned near passed now. So basically... 🤷.

Dang, I wonder what’s up with that.  We are re-watching GOT right now but once we are done with that we will need something to watch again after the kids go to bed.
  • We have our hospital tour this week.  It does feel like things are flying!  It is hard for me to believe that all three of my kids will be born in different cities/states/hospitals.
  • On the topic of Netflix, I just finished the first season of After Life. It’s SUCH a good show. Ricky Gervais wrote/stars in it but it’s not a comedy, for those who are familiar with him. Season 2 is coming next year and I can’t wait
  • @cmbt2 glad your DS1 is on his way to feeling better and I really hope your seedlings survive!!!  What kind of seedlings do you have?

Thanks! He didn’t come get us last night so I’m hoping he’s on the mend

im trying to start our vegetable garden- zucchini, summer squash, cucucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, and kale. I had others, but they didn’t survive. I’m just going to piss off our builder and put my raised beds in this coming weekend because this whole process with him has been f’n ridiculous

  • @cmbt2 I'm sorry you lost a bunch of your seedlings. That sounds like it will be a great garden still tho. I opted not to do one this year but I'm dorky going to miss it. Glad DS is feeling a bit better. Hope it stays that way!

  • @cmbt2 sounds like a nice summer garden! Sorry the rest didn’t make it.  I work for a home builder so I know how big of a pain in the a$$ we can be.... are you just waiting on loam (aka top soil) and sod?  If that’s the case adding your raised beds shouldn’t be much of a problem as long as they are not up against your house or blocking the drainage plan.

I have no idea. They won’t tell us anything. They only keep saying the grading isn’t done, but the bulldozer they used for it hasn’t moved in 6 weeks. We have a wire we need buried, and we’d like to do it before they place the sod, and they won’t even give the okay for that. My roses and lilies are dying, so they have to get planted. We don’t have any idea what drainage they’ll be doing, either

They won’t even say when they’ll be tearing up our new driveway (that they did in April) to lay the sidewalk (whyyy they’re putting it across the driveways makes no sense to anyone), and my pregnant ass isn’t going to be parking on the street again for a week, tracking through the mud that is my yard, because they waited to the last second.

  • @cmbt2 damn, they should at least be answering your questions.  The lack of follow up is almost worse than not getting the work done.
I know that up north they can’t lay sod till the weather is warmer so once it warms up it’s a mad dash to get all the grading done and sod laid for closed homes.  Sounds like they don’t have a good process in place to keep homeowners informed.
Can you call your sales agent?  Realtor?  Sometimes they can help get you some answers.

@emily1052 so, long story short, our realtor got chewed out by the builder’s realtor for trying to help us get some warranteed things fixed 🙄🙄 but I may see if she can help with this and bypass the builder’s realtor (he’s... difficult to say the least)

That’s really frustrating.  They are the ones that made money off of the sale.... just because you closed doesn’t mean they can throw their hands up and say “I’m done”.  At least a good realtor shouldn’t.

Yeah, ours isn’t like that. She’s all “let me know when and what you’re thinking about doing to the house! I’m happy to help you pick!” He’s all “the sale is done. We can’t  be involved anymore!”
