I didn't bring enough breakfast and didn't make coffee this morning, because I figured I could dash across the street to Starbucks since we don't have students anymore. But, I have one who came in to try to pass the class with online make-up work, which is great and all, but now I'm stuck in my room.
Oh no 😭 I'd be like kid get out 😂 pregnant and hungry is a hangry like you've never seen!!! How was everyone's memorial day weekend? We did a cook out and celebrated 3 birthdays all relatively close (my friends daughter next week, mine this Saturday and our other friends last week) and hung out on the porch til the storm drove us inside 😂 the town we live in had a tornado touch down outside it and our neighbor was messaging us, "where are you, are you home!? Go down stairs now!" No we're about 20 minutes away I think we're okay! Thankfully it didn't damage anything and was gone really fast but man. I hate tornado season!! Aside from the dumb family drama this weekend that will continue into next, it was a good weekend!
It looks like our credit card was stolen again 😪 it happens once a year pretty much with all the online ordering we do. Blah.
My vacuum still hasn’t shown up, and I have yet to be contacted about the so called investigation into why it says delivered when it wasn’t there when we got home. We live in a new and quiet development, so having been stolen is a very slim chance. What’s likely is they delivered it to the wrong place 😒
@andromedacorrine2 Glad you guys are safe, we saw on the news about the tornados, they are scary.
@andromedacorrine2 I got him the fall out game and he was so excited lol so I did good
Sunday our friends got together at a park for Nerf Gun war. The kids had soo much fun, though they played "zombie" style and DH told DD when she got tapped that meant she was a zombie, so he tapped her and despite her being excited about being a zombie she balled her eyes out lol.
Yesterday was just a BBQ at our Friends house. We got to see their friends new baby which was our DD's first experience. She did okay, we did have to remind her to be gentle and calm down around her, but all in all I think she did good.
@Cass005 awww! Good 😊 to all of it! She definitely will learn that the baby is little, DS was so rough after he realized DD wasn't going anywhere. Her first month was rough! But he figured out soon enough to be gentle around her! @cmbt2 mine got stolen once and my banker(I go to 5/3) got me this "secondary" debit card, it's a separate account and I can switch money back and forth no issue and she told me she used hers for online only cause it will never trace back to my original account and won't have any money unless I put it on there. It's been awesome! And it let's me give SO my card so he can pay the sitter and get gas and I still have access to my money too. I also use Google pay or PayPal sometimes lol
@andromedacorrine2 this happens pretty much yearly, and it’s always amazon purchases that makes us aware to it. It’s the card linked to our 529, so we pretty much use it for every thing (including daycare).
I'm back after an impromptu phone hiatus (hey everyone)! It was nice, MH was out of town from Wed-Friday (so I read a ton of books) and then from Sat-Mon was great family times (walks, BBQs, etc.).
@galentine I'm late and saw that you were discussion baby shower themes in last week's randoms. Sloths are the best, so I vote for that theme (acknowledging that my vote carries zero weight )
@cmbt2 I have way more accounts then I should 😂 but I get that, I've finally begun switching some of my more active/used accounts to the other card to use for online stuff. It's been pretty nice though!
@marbellie, Welcome back! I let my sister go ahead and choose whichever theme would work best for her (the host), and I'm pretty sure she decided not to go the sloth direction. But I'll let you know for sure in August 😉
I was at a baby shower on Sunday. They’re team green and they had everyone guess “boy or girl” whenever the mom-to-be opened your gift, then at the end they announced the tally. I thought that was a cute idea!
Happy Tuesday! Back at work today after being gone for 2 weeks for vacation. (Vacation was only a week but because I’m part time and the way the days fell, it was two of my “weeks” here).
MDW was chill, which was good!! We had some friends come for a small BBQ on Sunday, then Monday we did zoo in the morning and a cute little farm in the afternoon. Boston lucked out with some beautiful weather so even though we didn’t do a ton it was such a nice weekend!
Pretty funny that it's mostly just us in the all group check in so far.
I had an awesome weekend - DH was on a recruiting trip (he coaches college soccer) Saturday so I caught up on all my trashy reality tv shows. Sunday was rainy and he was tired from his trip, so we happily snuggled in bed, watched movies, and ordered take out. Monday we did some gardening and bought a new washer and dryer (MUCH needed!), then spent time outside playing games and BBQing with the neighbors. It was so chill and restful, I loved every minute of it!
ETA because I used the wrong emoji the first time!
@jenferlee82 yea, I feel like there's really only a handful of us who are "regular". Then another handful I'd consider "active". Should make things SUUUPER interesting when we move to a PG......

Funny, our schedule was opposite where we did a farm on Sunday and a small BBQ on Monday. Which farm was it? We accidentally stumbled on this really fun one north of Boston that has animals, a golf range, mini golf and a creamery...the ice cream was amazing. It's called Richardson's Farm
@jenferlee82 what is your go-to trashy tv? I’m a sucker for it as well. I actually watched Jersey Shore (probably should have posted this in the FFFC 🙈)!
@prpl11butterfly Ooh, now I'm curious where I fall! Mostly, I just know I have a habit of planning a response and then forgetting to actually post it, but the act of planning out what I want to say tricks my brain into thinking I've done it!
@prpl11butterfly I was actually gonna say earlier that half the usernames on the ultrasound thread I don't know. And these will be the ones right there asking for Facebook of we get to that point. I wonder if they just lurk and don't say anything. I love our little regular group already though 💕 @steminist I'd say you're fairly regular, we understand there's life outside the screens!!!

Ever since PGs were brought up in a Confessions thread a couple weeks ago, I have been thinking a lot about the hypothetical future October PG and who I would (or wouldn't) want in it. I have also been stalking the May and July boards that recently went through this transition (although one of them may have chosen to go straight to FB, now I can't remember). I have lots of opinions.... lol.
Confession: I expect to be more strict in regards to who I'd want in a PG/FB than most on our board. When it comes to sharing more personal info (baby names, photos, etc) I want to be pretty confident I trust everyone in the group, and it's hard to feel like I know/trust someone if they haven't been an active poster. Not that there is anything wrong with being a less active poster. But it just makes it harder for me to "know" you and therefore trust you.

Oh man so I have to confess that I watch so many of them. I watch all the Bravo nonsense - Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, Summer House, etc. They are so bad but so good. I also love Jersey Shore! It's terrible and DH hates them all, but some days I just need to not think and they are the perfect remedy!

100% agreed. I don't have to *like* you (I'm sure not everyone will like me, and honestly don't care) but I do have to recognize you as someone who didn't just pop out of the woodwork like "Oh we're moving to FB! I'm in!" Noooope
@galentine@cmbt2 I definitely agree and feel the same! My January group seemed alot harsher because they began their Facebook group pretty early and I didn't get active til later due to not knowing, but I have always understood the need for privacy concerns! I agree with @cmbt2, if I have to think hard about the last time i saw a post from them, it's a no go!
@galentine@jenferlee82 and others about PG/FB: agreed! I don’t have to like you, but you have to post enough that I have some confidence that you’re not a catfish and you’re not crazy.
And adding to my comment, being active isn’t just posting in check ins. It’s jumping into other more active threads and getting to know people. Even if it’s not daily, you still get to know people

I think that's perfectly fair. And to be honest I like you guys more than the mom group I'm in on FB. It helps that ya know have this one large thing in common haha.

This is where I'm at too, but was struggling to come up with the words. There are some usernames I definitely recognize (ie I would not need to scratch my head and think about who they were) but even still would not feel comfortable having in a private group. If all you've ever done is post ultrasound photos and post your own info in a few check-in threads throughout the months.... then I don't "know" you, even if I recognize you.
@jenferlee82@cass005@galentine@greenbean-2@andromedacorrine2@prpl11butterfly ahhh I better start posting more! I do try to keep up to speed every day, but I go through phases where I am more active. We've had lots of ups & downs and sometimes I get a little too in my head to be as active as I'd like to be.
so this is not really trashy TV, but I've been enjoying Working Moms on Netflix - has anyone seen that? It cracks me up!

@obsessedwithoranges, I completely understand being in your head. PGAL is an ugly beast and I understand the anxiety of jumping in. This is one of the main reasons I personally wasn't ready to think about private groups yet when they came up a few weeks ago. I think it would be thoughtful for us, as a group, to wait at least until everyone has been through their anatomy scans. I don't know about others, but for me, the A/S felt like a final hurdle before I would really be confident that I have a healthy babe growing.
Definitely agree. And @obsessedwithoranges like I said to @steminist we do understand there's more going on that this board. I consider you pretty regular honestly!
thank you all for the reassurance and thoughtful replies! It really is PGAL brain and with my issues I have been told I have an 80% of carrying to term. That's a pretty good chance, but there is never a 'safe' time so some weeks are better than others for me. I think ill definitely feel better after my anatomy scan.
Throwing out another weirdly funny TV show... Fleabag on Amazon Prime. I'm surprised how into it I am!
I'm also wondering which category I fall into! I try to pop in a few times a week, but life is so crazy right now. I don't always post in the check in because, like others have mentioned before, it's hard to read through all of it and feel like I'm posting the same answers every week. But I do comment on the other threads a decent amount (I think!). I was definitely more active on my board last pregnancy, but that's because I had WAY more free time!
I'm in the "I love reality shows" camp! All the housewives shows, big brother, amazing race, kardashians. I used to watch the MTV shows, but don't get MTV anymore because we got rid of cable and just have PS Vue/Roku now.
Our weekend was great! Took DD1 to the pool yesterday and cooked burgers and hotdogs on the grill. DD1 surprised me so much yesterday, I'm so proud of her! She loved the pool last year, but she's been in swim lessons since February this year. She hates going to swim lessons, throws a fit and cries every weekend. I decided to cancel lessons last week because she refused to even put on a swimsuit. Well, we got in the pool yesterday and she knows how to swim!!! She could swim a good couple feet by herself. I can't believe it! In swim lessons she would barely even get her hair wet! She did awesome!
