@lioness_389 my RE told me to take a low dose (25mg) of B6 3x / day. It took about a day or so to start working but it’s really helped me.
Anyone else having bad bad ligament pain already? It’s constant in my entire pelvic / tailbone area and has been going on for about a week and by the end of the day I just want to cry. I have a midwife appointment on Tuesday so I plan on asking about it. I swear this didn’t start with my daughter until the 3rd trimester.
@ashorkey The B6 is working!!! First time in a month that I haven’t thrown up or had extreme nausea. This morning my stomach was a little upset, but my 8am I was fine. My husband brought home 100mg tablets so I cut it in half and took it last night. I’m still looking for a lose dose pill. I’ll call my doctor tomorrow to get clarity on how much I can take.
@lioness_389 Just if you're looking for them, I get the 25 mg B6 tablets behind the pharmacy counter. They're OTC, but not regularly stocked by our store so we special order them.
After an extremely difficult delivery of my second son 8 years ago my new ob has told me she believes I have PTSD from this, I worry constantly about delivery this time around and have nightmares. Has anyone else dealt with this? My first labor and delivery was rough, second was way worse and I just have this strong feeling that its going to be alot worse this time!
Has anyone dealt with thyroid issues in pregnancy? I've never had a problem before, but apparently my TSH cam back low. My OB wasn't in today, but his office called to tell me that it would require follow up. The ER doctor also mentioned it on Sunday when I was in for my kidney infection, and now I'm trying not to freak out.
@mommato3ohio. I am sorry you had bad experiences. I developed PTSD from my csection with my daughter. TW then I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage and lost my grandmother end TW. When I became pregnant with my son, my obgyn encouraged me to stay on Zoloft for ptsd/anxiety related to all I had been through that year. Fortunately, I had a low stress vbac with my son. I hope things go better for you this time.
bakerstreetboys - Thyroid issues in pregnancy is actually pretty common, there are people who will find after delivery they no longer have issues.
I however have had hypothyroidism (body doesn't produce enough - tsh levels too high) for over 10 years (even before kids). I knew from seeing a specialist that my medications would be likely needed to change, so with each pregnancy I've had routine blood work throughout pregnancy to make sure with medication that my levels stay in the normal range. This usually meant slowly increasing my medication every 6 weeks or so. By delivery with both of my pregnancies I have ended with a double in where my medication dosage started, and then follow up with blood work after delivery as we gradually decrease my levels back down but in my case it's ended up higher than when pregnancy started.
@bakerstreetboys With my first I was put on thyroid medication. After 6 weeks they re-ran my bloodwork and my dose was where it needed to be. with each blood draw, they checked my levels to make sure they were still the same as well. After pregnancy, my doasge went down. This time around my RE told me to increase my dose a tiny bit until my bloodwork came back... right now I'm on 64mg/day and I should have my results back by tomorrow. I wont be surprised if I'm told I need to go up to 75mg/day becuase that's where I was at with my daughter. The hardest thing with it is not being able to eat for an hour after the meds, and they have to be taken on an empty tummy.
@bakerstreetboys my sister ended up getting diagnosed with Thyroid cancer while she was pregnant. They even had to remove her thyroid when she was 5 months. Apart from being more tired she delivered a healthy baby girl with no complications. She had more frequent appointments to check and regulate her hormones but everything went smoothly.
Thanks for the responses. My OB hasn't called me yet, which is kind of surprising. If I don't hear from him tomorrow, I'll probably call. I've read that low TSH can cause miscarriage, so I'm nervous about waiting.
Is anybody around the 10/11 week mark starting to feel better?
My nausea has improved a LOT (unfortunately I’m still a “super smeller” and strong flavors put me off 🙄) and my energy has gotten way better. I’m 11w2d but it’s really been ever since about 10 weeks.
I’m thinking this is normal since it seems like everybody’s on a different schedule, but I have to admit I’m squeezing my boobs every few minutes to make sure they’re still sore. Anybody else? Or STMs, when did you start feeling fewer symptoms?
@midgeroseftm I was in the 11 week area when my nausea started going away. Same with me- my smelling is still super sensitive and I’m still getting a car sick feeling pretty frequently. Funny, with the sore boobs, I would say that I notice them more at night (when I’m actually in bed) or in the morning for some reason- maybe because I sleep on my side and don’t wear a bra to bed at the moment? Maybe I need to change that.
Headaches and light sensitivity seems to be kicking up for me, especially as I’ve brought more food back into my diet. You just can’t win!! Bloating today was pretty awful from morning to night- still no real bump on my part (STM at 12w3d), just indigestion gas. Good times 😉😛
@midgeroseftm I’m 10wks 2 days and I was wondering the same thing! I actually thought I was losing pregnancy symptoms which was worrying me. My breasts are mainly sore in the morning or at night (like @cpk3535), but I check them too during the day and was starting to wonder ‘Am I still pregnant?’ Still feeling nauseous, but not as bad as before. However, I’ve been taking vitamin B6 religiously for a couple days so I think that’s the reason.
@midgeroseftm I am 9.5 weeks and have noticed a big improvement in my nausea. I still have issues if I wait too long to eat, or first thing in the morning, but it is much better. This will be my 3rd child. With my other two, I was much sicker, nausea eased up right before the 2nd trimester, but unfortunately came back with a vengeance around 14-15 weeks and stayed.
@midgeroseftm STM here and 9w. My boobs are still sore mostly at night. I can’t wait to take off my bra! Overall my symptoms really decreased. However still so very hungry. I would say by 12w the symptoms would subside. But each person is different. My first pregnancy was a breeze aside from GD. But i felt pretty good and didn’t have MS. So who knows what this one is going to do.
@midgeroseftm@lioness_389 that happened to me at just after 10 weeks (i’m 12w 1d today) and my doctor said it’s totally normal around that time. my boobs were suddenly way less heavy and sore feeling but still tender to the touch, and the nausea subsided (apparently nausea is usually the worst between 8 weeks and 10 weeks, although everyone is different of course.) however, for me, after a week of feeling better, the nausea came back pretty hard a few days during week 11, especially after eating a big meal. i also found that new symptoms started showing up around that time, like dizziness and headaches. my boobs have remained less sore in general though. don’t worry! try to enjoy the improvement when you have it because that nausea may reappear
@midgeroseftm I never had tried nausea but my extreme fatigue started improving around the 10 wk mark. And I totally squeezed my boobs on and off for about a week to make sure I was still pregnant! I’m 12w today and my boobs hurt bad one day and not the next. I’m still bloated but I’m also having major tenderness so I think things are stretching down there.
@spawnsvessel I did the sneak peek test at 9w3d. My results say girl, which I feel pretty confident about. If it were a boy, I’d be hesitant to wait until the ultrasound to say for sure because of potential male DNA contamination.
It was pretty easy to do. I did it on a Wednesday, mailed Thursday, they received Saturday and I had an email Sunday. It seems like they have sales a lot!
@spawnsvessel - this was my first time doing sneakpeak. So I dont personally have experience with its accuracy. But several friends have done it and they were all accurate. I got it on sale for like $60 (the slower option). I literally just got my response back today and I couldn't be happier that it said we are having a girl!
I'm the definition of a type A personality. I like to know and plan everything to the tee in advance. I have had my 1st nurses apt at my OB practice but will have my first visit with the doctor in about 2 weeks. I'll be about 12 weeks pregnant then.
Can I ask for a breast pump prescription then? Is that too forward with it being so early?
My insurance company covers it and I just want to get it and set it up and read every last detail in the manual. You know totally normal behavior.
@mrszoobear it had been a long time since I had a baby, but I am pretty sure I wasn’t able to get my breast pump until around the time my son was born.
@mrszoobear yes I didn't get my breast pump until after the baby was born. I sent the prescription to the medical supply company- I called them after I gave birth and they mailed it to me, it arrived in a few days.
Im not sure what insurance you have, i know with Cigna they cover it if you are over the age of 35 or have cause for concern in regards to chromosomal issues (like family history)
@mrszoobear with my last I had to call my insurance after 30 weeks and then they sent me the info on how to obtain one. I was able to go to a local medical supply store to pick it out and then they worked everything out with insurance.
@doctorcrime with my 1st i didnt have paid leave so i took the 6 weeks i was allowed (that they would keep my job open) 2nd i was a sahm. 3rd i took 6 months, this one i will take at least 8 weeks- we have 2 weeks maternity leave and then 6 weeks paid short term disability, though you have to use all of your PTO before short term starts, so 8bweeks plus whatever PTO i have left then
To clear things up I asked my insurance company some questions about my breast pump coverage and this is the statement they sent over:
"A prescription is not needed from your Ob/Gyn. You may order a breast pump anytime during the pregnancy period from any one of the in-network suppliers.
In-network suppliers Below, please find a list of in-network providers for breast pumps."
I have never heard of not needing a prescription but it's cool that I can order it whenever I want.
Ladies who are taking B6 for nausea, have you been able to find 25 mg pills? My doctor advised taking 25mg 3x per day, but the pharmacy only carries 100mg pills and they aren't very large, so I feel like trying to break them into quarters will result in mostly dust. I haven't been able to ask my doctor yet if its ok to take 50mg doses.
@blueskychicago12 as per my earlier post, ask behind the pharmacy counter for 25mg B6. CVS doesn't regularly stock them, but can and will special order them. Not sure about other chains.
blueskychicago12 I found my 25mg B6 at Walmart, they were in the row with the rest of the vitamins and there were 4 or 5 different bottles of different mg dosages. I've seen them at our Target as well.
@blueskychicago12 My dr said I can take 50mg of B6 twice a day. I just break the 100mg in half, but I’m going to see if I can find the 25mg at Walmart or Target.
@mrszoobear in addition to the insurance provided pump I highly, highly, highly recommend grabbing a manual pump to have on hand. The Medela Harmony is really great and the Hakaa pump is seriously the greatest thing ever. A manual pump is good to have on standby, or in your purse for "emergency" use, but they are also more efficient at extracting BM vs a machine pump unless you have a hospital grade one (not covered by ins). I always kept mine in my diaper bag or purse when I was working.

@nothingbuttherain@lioness_389@allison_smith_6212 thanks all. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to order since I'd like to get it ASAP. No luck at my local Target, but I made some calls and found that it is available at a nearby GNC and Vitamin Shoppe.
Hi, all. This is my first pregnancy, so I have no idea what is and isn’t normal. I’m 12w3d today, and while my belly grew a lot between weeks 10 and 11, it doesn’t seem like it grew as much from weeks 11 to 12. I’ve been measuring my belly and taking pictures which is how I can tell. But I had an ultrasound a week ago, and everything looked great. I know I’m probably just being paranoid. 😓 Anyone know how much you should grow week to week? Should it be fairly steady or no?
Any mommas here have had 3 or more C-sections? Or even know of anyone that has?
This will be my third, and kinda wrapping my head around it'll be my last baby. As recommend by my doctor I should try to limit it to 4, for obv reasons of course. Just curious on stories like wise.

I could only find the 100mg too so I’ve been attempting to cut them into 1/4s. Our CVS didn’t have anything smaller.
