@mrsinterweb I use irregardless to be funny. It means "without lack of regard." I love that line from an internet video I saw a long time ago called "the parlor."
I love y’all, just saying. I do admit while I’m pretty good with most of these, I suck with the Oxford comma. I also avoid using effect/affect because I can’t keep those straight in my brain.
@kindbytealikat affect starts with an A for action/verb, effect is a noun. Not sure if you've heard this one or not, but it's the only way I can keep them straight!
I scheduled our maternity/2019 family pictures yesterday, and after weeks of looking for decently close matching outfits, I FINALLY FOUND DRESSES FOR SISSY AND I. I was sooooo excited. Then I saw the price on my dress and my heart dropped😭 but SO said to get it cause I've been looking forever to get similar mint green(the baby's colors are mint green and grey since we're team green) outfits. The boys shirts were easy, our dresses were not 😂 I'm excited though 😍
I'm so excited! My H and I picked out a glider for the baby's room awhile back, but the color upholstery we wanted had been out of stock. I've been checking the Target website daily for almost a month, and it came back in stock today!! I ordered it on the spot, and it will be here next week. Wohooo!!
Putting this here though it should probably be a confession. I've had our maternity photoshoot booked for a month now for August 4th (I think that's when I'm 31 weeks). I can't help but plan things ahead.
@marbellie, no judgement here! I have one booked for while we are on our babymoon. It's a little earlier than I'd like (I'll only be 28 weeks) but we're going for it, because who wouldn't want maternity photos with a gorgeous mountainous backdrop?!
Ours isn't til August 11th, that was the latest she could do, she is pretty booked for fall already 😱 I wanted to do a little later in hopes to have a decently defined bump by then! She's also offered to do a birth/fresh 48 shoot for us, which I never did with the other two. So I was just looking up labor gowns/robes to wear so I can look somewhat cute😂 if you all want to look them up, I found A site called Gownies, they're really cute(though mostly floral which I'm not a fan of, there's some others though!) And around 30 for the gowns/robes. I wanted one with DD and never ordered it in time! So this time I think I will and I'll get the kids matching shirts to wear too.
Edited because I forgot to say that yes after they're done I will post pictures💕 I am a shutterbug, love pictures and actually do photography on the side but I don't do self portraits, much less my whole family!😂 I have an Associates of Art and photography was one of my main focuses!
This fuckery showed up on Facebook today. Now I'm raging.
I responded with "So because I support the right for another woman to choose what she does with her body, I shouldn't mourn the twin I lost at 9 weeks?" no response yet, but we will see.

@nachellebeck13 Unbelievable. How can people be so incredibly black and white in such a nuance-filled world? I'm so glad you responded, very curious to see how they come back.

That is such an stunningly broad brush that poster is using in their own black and white world. Both terrible and impressive at the same time, UGH.
@nachellebeck13 oh hell no. I'd be all over that person too. Why can people not understand that being pro choice doesn't mean your pro abortion??? There's a difference.
I've had a lot of "friends" post pro life propaganda over the last few months. While I know it's different, medically the words and procedures are the same for abortion and miscarriage. I feel hurt by some of the posts I see and I cannot imagine how they hurt people who've had abortions. I feel judged for a decision I made for an even that was out of my control. Today on lunch I shared those thoughts again. I know it won't change the thoughts of those people but maybe it will make them think for even 10 seconds.....
Aaaaand my win of the day is... We are getting DS1 a new bed for his bday, which is next week, of course I have procrastinated and didn't try to order until today. This morning the website said the bed couldn't ship until two weeks after his bday. I was SO SAD. (first world problems, I know). But I really wanted him to be surprised on his real birthday! After researching about 10 other options, none of which I liked as much for the price, I finally just resolved that he'd have to deal with a late gift. AND THEN I went to check out and the bed had been restocked in the hour I was hemming and hawing! Should be here next Tuesday. Woohoo!
Oh my gosh, how did I miss a grammar/typo discussion???? Those examples are gold. @jenferlee82 I am also a huge fan of the Oxford comma and refuse to part with it.
Another HUGE annoyance is "supposably"
Finally, please take a moment and think about if you mean "apart" or "a part" because they are opposites.
@galentine Hi, friend! I'm glad you had a lovely time off. I'm echoing what some of the others said and was nervous when I didn't see you for awhile. I'm glad that all is well, and the glider looks beautiful!
@meagan-t As a FTM that image is horrifying, though I understand why it should be giving us all of the feels.
@nachellebeck13 Absolutely not okay. I'm glad you said something.
So I am super late to the party, but I just started watching Big Little Lies and it's my everything. I also just started a new job this week, so I may not be as active. You all are looking great and I'm loving the bump pics!

My husband sometimes says his T's, B's, and D's very similar (when they're in the middle of words, like button, which sounds like buddon when he says it). I'm a big word nerd and it bothers me a lot, but I try to remind myself that it's probably his underbite that is causing it most of the time.
I sometimes struggle with R's - depending on their placement - and I've always modified to make them work for me (e.g. I say giraffe as diraffe and people never seem to notice until I tell them; modifying this way improves my lip placement for the R). So I try to cut him some slack and give him the benefit of the doubt.
I mention this because I swear my husband uses the word supposably and I always think of that Friends episode. It drive me bonkos! But he's a delightful man and cute, so I put up with it. 🤣

Being a boy mom is hard. Along with the hundreds of bug bites (yes....huge exaggeration..) we now have a gashed knee from falling at daycare AND a giant egg w/scratches on his forehead from falling at my grams. I don't know why but he always manages to hit his head in the same place. Multiple times a year. I hate being on concussion watch. Usually I'm not overly worried but he looks exhausted and is complaining about needing a nap this time. He won't let me check his pupils either.
@nachellebeck13 that whole thread is ridiculous. It makes my blood boil. @prpl11butterfly I agree, having been through loss I find so many of these black/white posts so hurtful and so clearly not at all in line with science. Did y'all hear about the Ohio congressman who noted that ectopic pregnancies could be removed and re-implanted in the uterus?? It. Makes. Me. Scream!!
@elle-0409 Big Little Lies is awesome!! You are starting just in time to get caught up for Season 2! I also loved the book.
@nachellebeck13 that whole attitude makes me rage so freaking much! It’s clearly an attitude rooted in privilege and lack of empathy or even comprehension of the difficulties other human beings can and do go through.
@prpl11butterfly I feel you, girl, RE: boy mom life. I know being a girl mom comes with it's own hardships, but the physicality of little boys is nerve wracking AND never ending. If it's not this then it's that. Always. Hope your DS's egg goes down by morning. Know that it probably hurts you more than him. Edited to add: All you FTM expecting boys... boy babies are totally dreamy and perfect.
Y'all. My girl is more prone to physical injury than my boy. He likes to climb more and be more adventurous, but this girl!!!! I swearrrrrr she is gonna give me a heart attack. Here I am crazy for wanting another boy, but this girl is gonna give me grey hair by the end of the year. DD threw her head in to the desk chair when I was trying to get her off of it cause she knows she's not supposed to be on it 😑 my son climbed on top of our project Jeep when I turned my back for a few minutes 😬😬😬 this third one better be an angel y'all!!!!
@andromedacorrine2 same with my step kids. Now I wasn’t around, but I’ve heard the stories. SS is way cautious and was never into physical stuff in general. SD almost broke her arm climbing/well falling out of a tree and when I met her at 8 was still always in scraps and bruises.

We FINALLY picked out a crib and I was so excited to check off such a major purchase off our list. Then I find out that it’s out of stock in the finish I want.... 😑 I emailed Buy Buy Baby to see how long they anticipate it being out of stock. So frustrating.

I've already alerted my favorite family photographer for our Boston trip in the last week of July - I haven't really found one I like in our town in Germany and we've done shoots with her since 2014. She might be in SF during our trip, crossing my fingers she won't be!!!
SIL who usually can't be bothered to contact SO (even though she's in our town once a week) ever, suddenly was all about the visit, ideally before June 1.
Because she's buying the family home from MIL, who is moving into an apt, but the family home is part of MIL, SIL and SO's inheritance from FIL and the notary won't process anything until all the heirs sign. Anyone wanna bet she wouldn't have said anything if not for the notary?
My ILs could definitely be worse, but the little I have to do with them is absolutely more than enough.
