Any thoughts about this cycle? It sucks. I’m on day 7 of Provera. I’ll start Clomid CD5 next month.
Any questions? Not right now.
Rant/Rave/Brag: I’m so busy and stressed at work. BUT, the thing I’ve been working on and stressing about for the last 3 months mostly ended today. Now, at least, the need for urgency is gone. I’ve barely seen DS the past few days and when I do, he is usually throwing a fit.
GTKY: What’s a thing you own whose sentimental value is inversely proportionate to its material value? (What’s something worth a lot to you, but wouldn’t be worth much when you detach all the emotional stuff?) My grandmother’s dining room table, which is now my dining room table. Also, I have a bag full of her scarves.
ETA: I’m super late to the party. I’ll try to catch up.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
mercury94 How bad is the provera? I used prometrium in January to induce a bleed and try femara and have an RX for provera right now, but I finally ovulated and didn't take it.
@mercury94 that’s so cool that you have your grandmas table! I’m sorry this has been a sucky cycle for you. Since the majorly stressful thing is pretty much done will things start to slow down at work?
@flinstone-2 - I'm in the exact same position. We are buying a new car this week and selling my old one. It was the first car that I bought, had when I moved out on my own, had when DH and I started dating, it was the car we drove away from our wedding, etc. This car's name was Montego. I'm a bit sad that we are loosing it, but it is 15 years old.
@nolemama24 - I hope you get the answers you hope for at your appointment tomorrow!
@MJDsquared - I'm sorry your finding yourself back over here. *hugs*

Any thoughts about this cycle? Who knows. I've been cramping like crazy and feeling nauseous due to the cramping. I'm either pregnant or AF is gearing up an absolute doozy. It's silly how similar those symptoms are.
Any questions? nope
Rant/Rave/Brag: Like I mentioned, we are in the midst of buying a car. We are going with a minivan as we don't feel like a mid-size SUV would fit our needs and I don't want to drive a full size SUV like a suburban (not to mention it's are out of our price point). I'm not excited to become a minivan mom, but I'm excited to have all that space to haul stuff. Taking stuff to my parent's house for holidays completely fills up my sedan. It will be nice to not have to choose between luggage and a stroller that DS can actually fit in.
GTKY: What’s a thing you own whose sentimental value is inversely proportionate to its material value? (What’s something worth a lot to you, but wouldn’t be worth much when you detach all the emotional stuff?) My mother and siblings made a doll house for me one year for Christmas. They stenciled the walls and kitchen floor. There was a stone fireplace made out of tiny little pebbles and tiny shingles put on the roof. The details were quite amazing! It was for a stuffed bear that didn't have very many accessories so they had to make everything (the beds, couches, kitchen table, etc.)
@spacemountaineer I too always said, "I never want a minivan." I have one baby, and now I totally want one. I drive a Prius, and I love it, but once the stroller is in the back, there's not a lot of room for much else while traveling. We rented one for vacation last year and it convinced me. Just waiting on my car to be paid off and we'll trade in DH's car, so we can swing another car payment.
@spacemountaineer did you look at the Pilot? We have one and LOVE it. With the third row of seats down there is tons of room for luggage and stroller (we have a Bob stroller so it’s huge even when folded). Idk what we’ll do if we are eventually able to have 3 kids like we want but for 1 we’ve had no issues and I can’t imagine a 2nd needing that much more stuff. Just an idea. Though nothing wrong with mini vans I’m just personally not ready
Me: 33 | DH: 34 Married: October, 19, 2015 EDD 2/22/17 DS1 born on 3/2/17 EDD 3/8/20 DS2 born on 3/10/20 EDD 11/24/23 (Formerly Marriedhamstermom Feb ‘17)
@spacemountaineer we just leased a highlander last year but while we were waiting around for paperwork we looked at the sienna and could totally see that in our future. Minivans aren’t the same as they were when we were growing up so I would embrace it! That dollhouse sounds awesome and so special that your siblings helped make it.
bows22MrsVP614@spacemountaineer I thought I'd never ever ever want to get a minivan. DH still doesn't, but I'm not about to pay that pricetag for a tahoe or suburban nowadays. I think I could stomach a minivan. Just like others have said they're wayyyy cooler now than when we were kids! haha
My sister has a sunroof in the front and another in the back of her Odyssey. She’s also got leather and two sliding doors with windows that go down like other electric windows instead of those terrible pop out windows we had to deal with as kids. It’s nice and drives very smoothly. She has four kids, the youngest of whom has Down Syndrome and struggles to open doors at age 4. The fact that it’s lower to the ground and the doors can be opened from two different points without the handle is clutch for him.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I’m the opposite. I always thought that I would immediately want a minivan, but I don’t like all the extra stuff that makes them more expensive. When I upgrade later, I’ll probably look into something similar to the GMC Acadia or Toyota Highlander. Right now I have a Santa Fe and DH has a pick up with a full cab so we’re in no rush to get a bigger vehicle yet!
@spacemountaineer I have been wanting to get the Honda Odyssey for a while now, even though I've always been an SUV fan. I have a Kia Sportage now and will probably have it for at least 5+ more years and DH is due for the next upgrade and I don't think he will go for a van. As for my plans next week it's some fun and some not. I have a hair appointment (getting it dyed), an appointment with a new health care clinic, a dentist appointment, gymnastics and swimming for LO, then my rummage sale will be Thursday-Saturday and I have to get everything set up prior to that around all of the appointments. It's going to fly by.
@m6agua Ohhh, yay for a whole week off! I hope it's great!
@bows22 I'm going to cross my fingers you don't need the booster! I've never heard of that, but I haven't been in that situation, either.
@mercury94 Sorry about the sucky cycle. Glad work has slowed down at least a little for you though.
@spacemountaineer I desperately want a minivan! Lol. I plan on having two kids (three max, but that would be decided after #2) and still want one. Not ashamed. Lolol. Right now we have a Honda Civic (old, no car payment) and a Kia Soul sooo our cars are both pretty tiny, lol. But we have to wait until the Kia is paid off which is in like a year and a half. Not to mention we also have two medium sized dogs. We don't often go places with the dogs but occasionally when we visit my mom or take them to boarding before heading to the airport or something.
@varimama - We did look at the pilot. My brother drives one. We are big Honda fans in my family. The legroom on the 3rd row is pretty narrow to me. We're not sure if we want to have 2 or 3 kids at this point, so we went with a van in case we have a third (we're hoping to have this car for at least 10 years). I looked at the Subaru Ascent as it has options for captain's seats in the second row , so getting back to the third row would be easier if we had car seats in the front two seats (and more leg room in the middle seat in the back), but even that looked a bit squished for me. Also, the CVT transmission in the Ascent needs some serious work. I'm curious to see where it's going to be in 5-10 years. I have a friend who has three kids and drives a durango (she kept all her kids in the second row for a while). She doesn't have any problems with it. We may look at a Pilot for DH or for me after this car.
@bows22 - Those new highlanders look nice! We drove the Sienna and it was really good. I liked to option of the AWD.
@flinstone-2 - The features they have now are quite impressive. I'm going to have to read a lot to be able to understand how to use them all!
@mokay19- Those sound like great choices! We are getting the trim level that is second from the bottom and we're still getting a lot of stuff with this van. We looked at the next trim level up and the additional features weren't that important to us.
@NYTino24 - We decided on a Honda Odyssey on Monday. It should be here on Thursday. As I said, my family love Hondas. This will be our 16th Honda that ones of us has owned (and the 3rd Odyssey). The power sliding doors is something that pushed me towards a minivan. I felt it would reduce my anxiety as my kids would have less of a chance of getting hands slammed in the door and dinging someone's else car in a parking lot.
@m6agua - You sound way more productive than I would be with a week off. That's awesome! I hope your sale goes well!
Just wanted you to know that you ladies are awesome!
Just wanted to throw the VW Atlas out there! I love my car so much!! It's got so much trunk space when the 3rd row is folded down!

@bows22 I would run these results past your primary care physician if you can. Just to have a 2nd opinion. It's saying you're not immune so I'm not sure why your OB would be ok with that given the outbreak going on currently...:/

@puppylove8910 I think we will wait. I called and they had appointments available for early June. If it was a long wait I was going to schedule it but I’m not too concerned yet. DH is on a work trip but we are going to talk about it this weekend so we’ll see.
@bows22 I completely agree that you should get your PCPs opinion on the rubella thing, but the reason your OB might be okay with it is because there hasn't been an active rubella outbreak in the United States in several years. Rubella is a totally separate virus from measles (not even in the same family), so the current outbreak of the measles virus is only a concern in that it highlights the number of people that aren't getting the MMR shot, making a rubella outbreak more likely than it would be if everyone were getting vaccinated. All of that said, I personally would get that second opinion because Congenital Rubella Syndrome is terrifying and I wouldn't want to take the risk if I didn't have to. The CDC website has some great information if you want more information on that, but I warn you that it's pretty upsetting: https://www.cdc.gov/rubella/index.html
Back to lurking while I gather up the guts to join this community for real
@MrsW524 thank you so much for the information! I posted an update in WTO yesterday but didn’t circle back to here. All is well, that was apparently just the information given “if” the scenario was negative, my actual result was positive. I was wondering about how closely related measles and rubella really are though and if immunity to rubella is indicative of immunity to measles as well. I guess they are mutually exclusive. Thanks for chiming in! You should join us, it took me a long time to get up the courage as well but I just started small and it became easier.

Edit: apparently my OB’s office is good with this and I don’t need the booster? I’m very confused but happy!
