    TW: loss mentioned

We went to the OB on Friday for the start of our monthly appts. We learned that we most likely lost Baby B.
The OB said she couldn't find a heartbeat and my husband said Baby B didn't look to have grown much since our last appt. We reckon we lost Baby B between 8-10 weeks.
Baby A is healthy and strong and growing right on track.
We are waiting for the MFM to call and set up an appt for confirmation but I go back to my OB on the 19th.
No clue how quickly the MFM will call....I just wish they would soon.

ETA: Update - Ultrasound scheduled tomorrow at 8. I get to drive 45 minutes to Galveston...hopefully I'll have answers soon.

I’m so sorry @nachellebeck13. Do you have the number for the MFM? I’d give them 48 hours then call them yourself if they don’t call

They just called me. The receptionist at the OB made it seem like they were booked weeks out and it would be awhile before I got a call.
I'm going in tomorrow at 8.

  • I mapped out the remainder of this school year, and I am now freaking out a bit. I feel like I have so much to cover and no time to do it. Also, I am perennially behind on grading and have no idea when I'll catch up. 7 more weeks until summer break!

  • @nachellebeck13, oh no, I'm so sorry. Sending you and your family lots of hugs. ❤❤
  • DS woke up with the cold I’ve had since last weekend. Then he threw up just a bit ago 😩 I’m realllly hoping it was just the mucous gagging him/irritating his stomach and not a stomach bug. I had the worst stomach bug of my life at the end of my first trimester when I was pregnant with him and I’m terrified of that happening again 😷
  • @nachellebeck13 I’m so sorry.

    @elle-0409 welcome back!

So... I couldn't help myself and I called Sequenom and asked if they had received my blood sample and when might I expect my doctor to hear results. The rep told me they finished over the weekend and faxed them on Saturday.

ETA the rep kept saying if they had questions and whatnot... which makes me a slight bit nervous.

The question is do I give it another day (since it's Monday and they are probably busy) or do I call the doctor office and see if they tell me they got the results.

  • @stephanie123456 I'd give it another day. It's possible your doctor hasn't had the chance to look at them yet, especially if it's a practice where they are rotating who's on call. Definitely check in with them tomorrow, though!

@stephanie123456 are they one of those tests you get a patient portal to see results? If so, my experience is providers only call if there’s an issue. If not, I’d call in the AM. Mondays are always hectic at doctors

  • @steminist I broke down and called the doctor office that did the blood-draw, not my normal OB, and UGH to the receptionist. First thing out of her mouth was, "It takes 7-10 days but I *guess* I can check for you"... I was so frustrated with her by the end of the call. I straight up told her that I called the test company and they said they faxed the results on Saturday... so maybe they went to my regular OB? I have no clue, I guess I should have asked the rep when I called MaterniT.

  • @cmbt2 They didn't give a portal to use for the test. I have a regular patient portal for my OB but I checked and there is nothing there either. I will probably call the regular OB tomorrow, it's just the way the rep said that comment that kind of threw me for a loop. Plus, I don't want them to be sitting on the results and forget.

@stephanie123456 I would call! I did and my OB nurse admitted they wouldn't have even looked for two more days if I hadn't called to check on results. It certainly doesn't hurt to call.

ETA: I should read everything before replying. I'm glad you called! If I were you I'd call the OB too, but that's probably me being impatient. :)

Ugh. I have 9 more weeks until summer break. Can't. Wait. But on spring break now so trying to enjoy it and get the most out of it and build up energy for the rest of the school year!
  • @nachellebeck13 I am so sorry. Thinking of you and hope you get some answers in the morning!

I got my next appointment, originally scheduled for the 15, moved to tomorrow. My progesterone levels slightly dipped last week. The doctor’s office didn’t seem worried but my PGAL brain was triggered. So 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I get to hear a strong heartbeat tomorrow
