I just posted that we’re having a boy! The crazy thing is, for the last 3 generations (with one exception), everyone in my family and my husband’s family has had an older daughter and a younger son. (My mom’s family growing up was the exception - she has a sister). I’m very excited to continue the trend (but a teeny bit sad not to get to reuse all the cute dresses we have).
@nachellebeck13 I'm so sorry about Baby A. I can't imagine how complicated your feelings must be, but I'll be thinking of you!
My (old man) OB today asked me how young I was. It literally didn't hit me until now, over an hour later, to realize a) he asked so that he could know whether to recommend the NT test and b) he asked "how young", not "how old" in case I was sensitive about it. I opted for yes, although I am not high risk for Down Syndrome, mostly because that means I'll get to have another ultrasound on Monday! Also, I am chuckling about my doctor's excess of tact.

Hahaha. I used to be really sensitive about looking young for my age (I’m ok with it now!), so a younger me probably would have thought he was implying I was too young to have a baby and gotten offended. 😂
@greenbean-2 Ha, if this had been my previous pregnancy, then I would definitely have had that thought. As it is, I still get confused with my high school students, and I'm 30. It rankles a bit sometimes, but I am reaching the point where I appreciate it now!
@Snaps816 ughhhhh people are SO NOSY AND SO RUDE. I do not understand it. I've had so many people say something to me and I haven't even announced yet! I had one girl at work straight up call me out in the bathroom "are you pregnant?" when I wasn't even 9 weeks yet. same girl one week later says, "so you still haven't told other people? because you're showing." I mean realllyyyyyy. Then another says, "do you have some news to share with me?" I said "uhhh yeah maybe but I'm not ready to." And yet more...people are asking a friend of mine at work if I'm pregnant bc they're stalking my eating habits. Why? Like mind your own damn business everyone. Or shall I comment on your eating habits and weight and appearance?
Also, I think we should absolutely add a "Stupid Shit People Say" thread, please and thanks.
Ugh... So maybe two weeks ago, there started to be a little leak in our complex downstairs parking garage. It progressively got bigger and worse. Finally, last Monday I decided to call the HOA management company to report it because our plumbing sucks and the last thing we need is pipes to burst and poop all over the garage floor (this has happened more times than I can count on one hand). The plumbers didn't come out until late Tuesday afternoon (the 2nd), of course it happened to be my unit, so they had to shut off the water to our upstairs toilet. They said they were not authorized to do overtime so they would need to come back to repair.
Now fast forward over a week and still haven't heard a damn thing for either HOA or plumbers. So I call the HOA to see what's going on. They proceed to tell me the plumbers had called me yesterday, either couldn't get a hold of me or left me a voicemail (the whole thing sounds phishy) that they will be back on the 16th, which is next Tuesday. I'm so pissed because no one called me and two weeks is ridiculous for this issue! I effing hate living in my town-home complex and every time s*** like this happens, I get so frustrated and tell DH we need to sell and move. Just called the plumbers to try and get them to come out ASAP and they don't frigging answer their phone. I don't want to have to be that annoying, mean pregnant lady... but I will if I have to.

I’d just like to take a moment to thank all of you ladies. I feel like, despite being a second time mom, I’m always full of questions (and PGAL doubts) and I’m grateful to have you all as a support system
Right? I was about to say the girl trend seems to have been stemmed
I've been thinking a lot about my little brother and am getting more excited by the day to tell the girls at Easter that they're going to have a little brother!
I'm feeling very awkward drinking my coffee right now thanks to TB. Why would the fact that the baby could fit in a mug right now seem like a normal comparison? And couldn't it always technically fit in a mug?
@nachellebeck13 I'm so sorry for your loss of baby A. Very happy to hear that baby B is doing so well though.
@snaps816 & @egb428 I can't believe how clueless some people are. I feel like there should be some kind of automatic shock that hits people when they do/say something that rude.
@stephanie123456 this is just me, but I would soo be that annoying pregnant angry woman explaining exactly how often I'm missing out on being able to use my toilet. Sorry you're dealing with that.
I want this to be a surprise baby but I want another boy so bad 😂 I'm hoping I don't jinx myself, even though I have more baby girl clothes that were never worn 😂😂😂
@prpl11butterfly omg....between this and the spaghetti my cafeteria was serving I can't take it haha. It's okay in an hour were having strawberry shortcake to celebrate office birthdays. Cannot Wait!
Not sure if this should go in the Question thread or here, but I'm already typing so...
Since the Rock N' Play is now being advised not to use for babies over three months or if they can roll over, is anyone still intending on purchasing or using for your LO? When I had started to think of baby stuff that I didn't get for DS but might want, the RNP was definitely one of the first things on my list. I want to find something that LO can sleep and stay in during the day while we are downstairs. I guess I could use my old MamaRoo (if I can find it and it's still in good condition) or a bouncer (ehhh) or maybe a getting a different swing, but meh... If you have any other ideas, I'm totally open to it.
ETA I just don't see the use of purchasing the RNP is the potential maximum use would be 3 months

@stephanie123456 the RNP is one of the few items i never really used for my kids. The only baby sleep device we used for a long time was the glider swing. 🤷🏼♀️ I didn’t even use my PNP for more than a month 🤷🏼♀️
@cmbt2 I think we just carted around DS' portable crib when he was really little and put it on the couch and sat next to it, but with a 4 year old, I'm afraid that it will not be safe. I got a glider swing for DS from my mom, but returned it prior to DS being born but can't remember the reason why. Maybe I thought we wouldn't need it since we were gifted with a second-hand mamaRoo.

@stephanie123456 I actually loved the RNP and felt safe using it past three months, though I don’t think my son was doing full rolls until 4.5-5 ish months? I’m so bad with remembering the timeline of things ha. But it was so light to carry if I needed to, and I was typically in the same room as him when he was sleeping in it, he never once came close to escaping it. I think you’d easily be able to judge if your child was capable of doing that, ya know? I’m sure that recommendation is based off of the youngest reported child having done this. Obviously anything is possible.... makes it hard to give advice in these situations haha
@prpl11butterfly that sounds amazing! @stephanie123456 I still plan to use a RnP, if I had to buy one it might be another story. It seems so much easier than transporting a PnP everywhere.

I used a playpen for my daughter. With my son we lived in an apartment, so I used a swing for my son. With my daughter we moved to a 2 story house so I got her a playpen for the living room and this one will have a playpen too😂 and a swing in case😂
@stephanie123456 I think I will still be using our RnP also. DS actually slept better in that than he did in his PnP before we switched him to the crib. Like @schumerator said, we also were always either in the same room with him or had the monitor on him. Not that that assures his/her safety, but we definitely never saw anything with him that seemed of concern. We also always made sure he was securely strapped/buckled in when he was in it, which would make being able to turn over almost impossible.
Edited: because spelling.

I told the bank girls (well 2 of them) today. One of them has been asking "what's new" DAILY like she suspected. And I just keep saying "oh nothing". So today I told them and said "I figured I'd better say something before my belly gives it away. The one who knows about my journey getting here smirked and said "it already did", I'm sure it was more obvious to her then the others. It feels amazing to be able to openly talk about it finally!
@cmbt2, my two closest girlfriends and I were having that conversation a couple months ago. One had a four year old and had just caught him doing the same thing, the other was reminiscing of when she walked in on her son around the same age, and then both laughed towards me saying "just you wait" lol. Still it's gotta be shocking whether you can expect it or not. How did you react?

Oh my goodness. I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old. I have not experienced this yet. The 8 year old I can tell is on the way to puberty though just based on the intensity of the mood swings.

That is insane! Honestly these are things you could take to HR if you were so inclined.
@cooaladolly shooked my head, laughed, yelled to my H that he’s on checking the pull up duty (he hasn’t been pulling it back up and therefore wetting the bed), and reminded him to pull his pull up all the way up when he was done
I hit a new point on the parenting belt... I walked in on DS1 (age 4) full blown masturbating 😳😳
LOL. My mom loves to tell the story of how my brother told her that his penis gets bigger when he touches it and she was like, yeah, that's what happens (trying to be all nonchalant) and then he goes on to say "...and to make sure it keeps working I touch it every night!"
Sigh.
DD1 is 5 and has been watching TV with her hand down her pants twice now in the past month. I don't think she does anything, it's just a convenient place to put her hand but every time I tell her it's fine to do that in her bed or on the potty but not where other people can see you, also please wash your hands NOW.
@grapeskittles4lyfe we used to catch him on the couch doing it, but we reiterated constantly it needs to be done in his room in private followed by go wash your hands. We’re still working on him remembering to wash his hands after..

Could you borrow one from a friend who's not using theirs or get one used? I got mine from Kid2Kid for like $15 and it was so worth it.
