Thanks, everyone. My neck is pretty stiff today, but I think the pain is more emotional than physical. I'm just so mad at the girl who hit me and my baby. The doctor who saw me said that the accident technically puts me in the high risk category, but she was quick to add that she felt the baby was still low enough in the pelvis that everything should be fine. I'm wondering if I should schedule a follow up appointment in a week with my doctor just to make sure that baby is okay.
Call for a follow up. ER docs are not OBs or MFMs and, unless they sent you to L&D, you need someone who specializes in this
@elle-0409 I’m so sorry! That must have been so scary. I got in a car accident several years ago and I would start crying out of nowhere for at least a few days after that. Stuff like that can definitely be emotionally traumatic. I agree with others to call your OB. At the very least, they should know about the accident, and they may want you to come in so they can do their own checks.
@elle-0409 I’m so glad you are doing okay. As others have said, I wouldn’t hesitate to call your OB and get checked out. If nothing else it will give you peace of mind.
@prpl11butterfly Drink all the coffee this morning! Baby probably agrees! @cooaladolly Congratulations!!! Wasn’t sure where to comment as not to clog up the Baby Sex thread. But very happy for you...one of each 💙💖
I keep seeing ads online for super cute spring clothes and get all excited to order them...and then remember there’s no point as I won’t be able to wear them until AT LEAST next season #pregnantladyprobs

Yes! My favorite "fill a bag for 10€" secondhand clothing sale is going on next Sunday and it makes no sense to go....*bawls*
@melanier26, SAME! My favorite style of skirt is apparently on trend this spring, and I I can't even fit in them. 😭 I'm super tempted to buy some anyway and just hope they fit me next year!
@galentine that is so cute! I really would hold off on buying though. My hips NEVER fell back into "prebaby" place so my sizes changed. I had a lot of cute skirts and pants that had to go because of it.
I caved and had another coffee (half reg half decaf) and spilled the last half of the cup. Directly onto my cell. Thankfully my phone is water resistant. But seriously, it feels like this is Monday and not Tue....
@elle-0409 So glad you're ok. That's so scary! I am always extra anxious when in the car while pregnant! I've been driving an hour and a half away for clinicals, and last week was during a big week long festival. (Not to mention Florida drivers are crazy). I get so anxious!
@Elle-0409 oh my goodness! What an awful scary thing to have happen. Both this pregnancy and my last it was one of my biggest fears. So glad that baby's checked out well and you are ok. Did the girl have anything to say for herself? In the scenarios I've ever imagined of this happening to me I always conjure that pregnancy rage and march on up to the other driver screaming at them "I'm pregnant you oblivious a$$hole!" I sure hope insurance throws the book at her and raises her insurance prices to the point she can't pay/drive.

Thank you so much! I'm so scared this little girl will be the headstrong, stubborn, mean handful that I was growing up, but I can't wait, lol.

Oh my goodness @elle-0409 so scary! I’m so glad you and baby are okay. I agree that you should make an appointment with your OB just to reassure yourself. 💝
@prpl11butterfly I hope you can get your furnace fixed! If your smoke detectors still keep going off, reset all of them and have DH vacuum them. Sometimes small bits of dust will keep them chirping after they have been set off.
The hospital where I went after the accident is where I'll deliver the baby and their records are linked to my OBGYN. I called the office today and they said that unless I start spotting everything should be fine according to the ultrasound. I know that the baby is low in my pelvis and well protected, but I'm still worried about brain damage. I want to slap the girl who hit me. Like you said, @cooaladooly I could have given her the riot act, but I was so scared and angry that I stayed in my car. She came over and asked if I was okay and I just screamed, "I'M PREGNANT!" at her.
@prpl11butterfly Sorry that your Tuesday is being such a Monday! I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.

@elle-0409 OMG. I missed that you were in an accident (that is what I get for not reading back after so many posts). I so sorry to hear that and am so happy you AND baby are ok! Did you ask your doctor specifically the likelihood of brain damage question?
@junebabyh I don't think I asked the doctor yesterday, but when I called my doctor's office today the receptionist told me that it was unlikely. Granted, she's not a doctor, so...

I took a leap and order some short sleeve maternity work shirts. Both my boys consisted of being pregnant throughout cold months so my summer clothes are pretty limited
@elle-0409 Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this! When is your next US appt? If not until 20 weeks, I would ask if you could have one earlier (maybe 14?.) Do you have a doppler? I know it's not the same as an ultrasound but It does help on days I'm feeling particularly "normal" and am convinced the baby disappeared.
@nomangos23 I don't have another US appointment until week 20. I talked to the office and asked about having one earlier, and they didn't sound too receptive of that because everything looked fine on the US the night of the accident. I have thought about getting a Doppler, though. Maybe I'll go ahead and order one from Amazon. Thank you!

@cmbt2 I live about 3 hours from Houston! And YES! It's huge! I've only been there a couple of times and try to avoid it if possible. Hope you are getting a chance to enjoy the warm weather.

Okay, I’m a huge fan of having a doppler, but I’m actually going to advise you against one now that you are out of 1st tri as there are better indicators for fetal health.
*TW* Dopplers are great for finding the HB, but that’s it. There’s too many women who have needed to be seen, but instead pulled out the doppler for piece of mind. It gave them piece of mind, but the end results were not good when they finally did see a doctor. I know a few women this happened to, actually, so it’s not like it’s a “this never happens” thing.
@cmbt2 Agree the doppler does not take the place of standard care from a licensed medical professional. Was only suggesting as a way to quell anxiety between appointments. I lost my first pregnancy at 22 weeks, so the doppler has actually provided a LOT of relief for me. Agree that a doppler isn't for everyone, but can certainly make the process a little easier for those who have been through a bit of trauma. Worrying until your next US is not helpful for anyone.

I am sorry to hear about your loss.
what I’m trying to say is quelling that anxiety once out of 1st tri isn’t always a good thing, and the first step is contacting a doctor for them to check you out, not turning to a hone doppler. Too many women I know lost pregnancies at the 13-18w mark because they used the doppler to quell their anxiety instead of being checked out.
and FTR, mine is packed back up for this exact reason, especially with being in the high risk category as it is
Thank you, @nomangos23 and @cmbt2 for your advice! It's hard when there's no one right answer, but I greatly appreciate your input. I'm going to monitor my body and if I notice any changes, I won't hesitate to call my doctor. Thank you both!!

While at Disneyland yesterday while waiting for DH, DS and AIL (since I couldn't go on some of the bumpier attractions), I was enjoying seeing all of the different kinds of strollers. With DS, we got the Chicco KeyFit travel system which came with the Cortina stroller. We primarily chose this because of the high safety ratings of the car seat but I wasn't too big of a fan of the stroller.. So this time around, I want something a little sleeker. I'm sure we'll do a product spotlight later on this topic but I've definitely been researching already. Not sure if we should invest in a double stroller, since DS will be 5 when the baby comes (he's already over 45lbs and over 42").

@cmbt2 I didn't know it was back! I dont have cable so I'll have to stream it tomorrow!
@prpl11butterfly, how do you stream it?? I don't have cable either, and I have never been able to stream it with reliability (I think I tried the WB app?) so I have always just waited foreeeeeeever for it to come out on netflix.
@cmbt2 I didn't know it was back! I dont have cable so I'll have to stream it tomorrow!
I think it comes back on tonight! I need to figure out how to stream for later episodes, but I’m in a hotel with cable this week so I’m going to try to watch it
I just learned that online contact lens exams are a thing. Score!
note: my script expired and no local optometrists will change my script while pregnant, so I just need a renewal to finish out the pregnancy. I’ll get a real exam at 3 months postpartum when they’ll finally change my script (I always end up getting worse vision and lose about 0.75/eye if not more, but I’m not a lucky one who has it go back. I dropped 1.5 in one eye with DS2..)
