  • @kaceyallan glad the internal scan showed things were fine!

@kraane sending you lots of positive thoughts on the baby that's in there!

@duewithpu2 I am definitely a lot bigger this time around! I didn't really start showing until 14ish weeks with DS and now I look 20 weeks at not even 12! I too am nervous about how big I will get.

  • @duewithpu2 I totally get it. I’m starting off this pregnancy already 30 pounds heavier than I started my pregnancy with DS, soooo I already seem 3rd-trimester pregnant and have quite a ways to go since I’m only 11 weeks. 😭😭😭

  • @sunshine2417 YES!! I am +15 from my starting weight with my last pregnancy (baby was born Sep 2018) and +35 from where I started with my first pregnancy!! I'm full on already in maternity clothes.
  • @kiddiesandkitties @sunshine2417 @zuuls_mom thanks ladies! I was starting to feel like a freak show!
  • Doppler and tilted uterus.
Have any of you had experience with home dopplers and a tilted uterus at 10 weeks? This is pregnancy #5, I have one daughter and have 3 previous miscarriages. With ny daughter, I found the heartbeat at 9+2, at 8 weeks during this pregnancy, we saw the heartbeat at 150bpm at which point I learned my uterus is retroverted and it appears the placenta is anterior. Obviously I am always panicked for a while in pregnancy. I see my midwife tomorrow, but I am worried she won't be able to find it either. First question: anyone have issues with home doppler but MD/MW doppler was successful? Second: anyone with a retro uterus that had issues with both dopplers at 10 but baby was fine?
  • @rainbowmoose425 the first time that I was trying to use my doppler, I reaaaaally watched what my doctor did and analyzed where she found the HB. I think I basically poked myself continuously in that spot until I got home so I would remember it, which is kind of silly since the baby moves around a bit. You're also still technically very early, as they say most can't find the HB on doppler until at least 10-12 weeks, but that's even early. I would just be totally open and honest with your MW tomorrow and ask her to help you be able to find the HB. We've been able to find it consistently for a little over a week now (11 weeks tomorrow) but there are still some days I can't find it (like literally two hours ago) and I totally freak out and try to breathe and remember there are SO many factors at any given time affecting it, such as how much food/water you've had, if your bladder is full or not, intestines full of stool or not, and then of course baby's location in your uterus! I've had 4 MC's, so I completely understand the anxiety around it.

  • This is my second viable pregnancy with doppler. Midwife found it this morning quickly but said my doppler isn't going deep enough, so I won't hear it for another week or so. With my daughter I started hearing her at 9+2, but her birth sent my uterus into the opposite position.
  • I'm so behind on reading posts as I've been so busy this week! But I wanted to ask a quick question to anyone who might know the answer. I LOVE the peach white teas at Starbucks. I know we have to be careful around certain types of tea though. Does anyone know if the teas at Starbucks are pregnancy friendly or where to find on their website what the ingredients are for sure? I emailed the company and they just emailed me back with a stock email explaining how much caffeine was in the coffee drinks.  :| Definitely not the question I asked...

  • Anyone experiencing lightning crotch? Holy moly! And of course this is coming on right after stopping progesterone so I’m trying not to relate it with that as something bad.
  • @blitzybee I had it with my son. I haven’t had it this pregnancy yet but ouch.. Feels just like you would imagine lightning feels like!
  • @blitzybee semi-related... did your Dr. have you stop progesterone at 12 weeks? I’m just realizing we originally talked about me coming off at 12 weeeks, but I had an appt at 11 weeks and she didn’t say anything about it. Now I’m 12+4 and wondering if I should contact her and come off it!

  • @sunshine2417 yep! My doctor told me to stop at 12 weeks, so definite ask! I ended up stopping just a couple of days before that. It’s been a week since, and baby is doing great😁
  • @sunshine2417, I was also told to stop progesterone at 12 weeks.  (Interestingly, in my past two pregnancies, I was told 10 weeks and 11 weeks.  So 12 weeks feels plenty far enough to me.)
  • @sunshine2417 my OB had me stop mine at 13w and I felt like I was taking off a security blanket! I didn't want to stop lol.

  • @sunshine2417 yes I have had it with both pregnancies
  • @blitzybee, @eller-2, @zuuls_mom, and @ashkanz thank you, ladies!!! Eeeekkkk I’m nervous to ask!!!!! I know technically you take yourself off it because the placenta takes over but man that’s scary! Also, super excited to stop it though—mine is a nighttime suppository and when DH found out what a suppository was, his eyes got very large.

  • Wasn't there a bloat or bump discussion somewhere? I can't find it now and I'm interested to see the bumps! I'm a first time mom,  about 175 lbs, 11 wks, and yet i feel like I have a bump already, which seems impossible. Plus the 'bump ' seems high so I'm thinking too many carbs? It looks and feels like I ate too much but it's all the time....
  • @nightdreamr13 there's a Hump Day, Bump Day (HDBD) thread posted every Wednesday. You might have to scroll down for last week's. My bump is definitely still just bloat, but I love seeing everyone showing!
  • @nightdreamr13 FTM here too at 12 weeks. I definitely have a bloat bump up high where I can't suck it in. I don't think it is baby yet. You're probably right -- I'm living off of bagels! Below my bellybutton I have a slight pop, but nothing noticeable. I've been told FTM's won't really show until around 16 weeks.
  • Thanks for the info @themadcamel. I was wondering what the abbreviation meant! Guess I'll wait for tomorrow!
@kgg2241glad I'm not alone. I plan to tell work tomorrow and I feel like the mom's are gonna be like yeah hon, that's all the carbs you've been eating...youre not showing. Hahaha.
  • Yesterday I got a chicken salad club sandwich (with extra mayo) from Wawa for lunch. I only ate 1/2 and put the other half in the fridge right away... do you think there is any risk in eating the second half today? Only concerned because of all the warnings about deli meat so wasn't sure if this would also be a concern? Help a hungry girl out!
    TTM - EDD 4/23 - Team Green <3
  • @nightdreamr13 while the bump may not be baby, it's probably caused by baby.  Your organs shift around to make room but baby is generally still lower than belly button right now.
  • @MsBeachNJ my Dr told me to stay away from all premade salads like tuna and chicken from anywhere bc you don't know how long it's been sitting out after they made it. :-/

@monkeysmom80 So maybe I'm not just getting chunky?? Haha. I feel pretty crappy that I've already gained 7 lbs at wk 11...
  • @MsBeachNJ I would eat it as long as you put it in the fridge. But I also eat lunch meat too. My OB said you have a better chance of getting listeria from vegetables and fruits.
  • @nightdreamr13 and @kgg2241 by 11-12 weeks your uterus is just starting to pop out from behind your pubic bone so it’s waaaaay down there, but your blood supply increases a lot and organs will start to shift, especially as that uterus grows, so everything will move up. I recommend to start doing smaller and more frequent meals, as your stomach gets a little squished and you can overeat to the point of feeling sick very quick and easily.

This little video like is informative to visualize how things are growing...

  • Is it too early to go tour a birthing center? I have 2 in mind and I'm leaning more towards one than the other. If I decide to switch clinics I'd rather do it sooner than later. Thoughts?

  • @LJMoon6 No...but I would also visit again when you are closer to D day. Honestly, they give you a crapload of info (or at least my hospital did) about checking in, pre-registering and other stuff that you prolly won’t remember in 6 months. I believe that’s also the reason why they don’t want you to take the labor/baby basics/breastfeeding classes too early.

We went at looked at a hospital when I was only like 5 weeks pregnant just to know if we liked it and would switch. We didn’t like it as much as the other and so decided to stay with our current practice. The earlier you make the decision, the more consistent and likely comfortable with your care you will feel.

  • So this may be tmi and I'm really sorry but idk who else to ask. :(
Yesterday I took a walk for lunch...not super rigorous but more than usual  (1st nice day in months). Afterwards I was a bit crampy. Then I had like 3 bowel movements in the next 3 hrs. Last night I got this excruciating cramp that sort of felt like I wasn't going to make it to the br but also stopped me in my tracks. It lasted for about a minute. This morning I woke up with a similar experience. I'm terrified something is wrong but also embarrassed of the possibility of my Dr telling me it's bad gas or something. They're only open til noon today...should I call or wait it out. If I wait it out that means I have to wait til Monday if it continues...
Any advice for this ftm is greatly appreciated...
P.s. I'm also freaking out bc I had a frozen cappuccino yesterday but coffee was the last ingredient on the list and I saw the amount of coffee they put in that sucker and it was like MAYBE 1/4 cup....
  • @nightdreamr13 I don't think it would hurt to call your doc, just for reassurance. And even if you had more caffeine than recommended one time, it wouldn't hurt.
  • @nightdreamr13 I'd call. If you don't and then change your mind, you might end up worrying all weekend.
  • @nightdreamr13 There’s no harm in calling your doctor at all. It happens all of the time, and they shouldn’t make you feel badly, even if it is just gas. Also, a good walk and some caffeine could stir things up, but you certainly didn’t do anything crazy that you need to feel badly about. One big thing they will always ask is about your water intake-so drink up and call the doc! Hope everything is okay!
  • @nightdreamr13 call your doctor, drink water, and do some squats to see if you can push any gas out. It’s always good to be safe and ask then to wonder or have things get worse!

  • Thanks ladies. Dr said not to worry unless I'm bleeding or the cramps are severe and constant. She said things are just stretching. It definitely made me feel better.
I'm a bit frustrated though bc they were never given the ultrasound report..again! I've had to go to advanced radiology for the ultrasounds bc the Drs tech is out on medical leave. I had my first 1 on Feb 11 and when I went to my Dr last Fri they still hadn't received it. So, when I went for my next ultrasound (right after the Dr appt last Fri) I made it a point to tell the tech and the lady at the front desk that they need to send both reports over. They assured me they send them the same day.  So when I spoke with the Dr today she said she didn't receive the one from last wk either ! I hope the Drs tech returns soon! Luckily my next one is scheduled for next tues (not this coming) and it's at the genetic center so hopefully it'll be a more pleasant experience!
  • Is it crazy that I swear I felt some inside movements last night?? It wasn’t gas bubbles, I know what those feels like. I’m a STM and I’m 14+2. I was laying in bed and watching tv, not trying to feel anything but I did and I was like well that’s different! I know they say you can feel sooner the second time, so I dunno, am I crazy or not?? 🤷🏼‍♀️
