We had a very productive day! Went to ikea for the dresser (thanks for posting that coupon!), assembled it and hung up our art.

@mamakate1616 I'm glad the coupon came in handy I also love how your nursery emanates this calm and relaxing feeling! It's funny, because I posted the coupon, but we didn't buy enough yesterday to reach the $150 amount, and DH didn't want to buy more things just to use the coupon. We finally moved the dresser with the changing table to the nursery, and DS1 got instead a nice mahogany dresser we found last weekend at an estate sale. No pics yet, because there is still lots of junk in the nursery, it used to be DH's model train/workshop room. He's slowly vacating it
@mihaelams1 thank you! I thought it was you. We actually got really lucky because the dresser was $80 off already and then we got to use the $25 coupon on top! we have been slowly vacating DD’s things out of our nursery. Luckily my SIL didn’t have any girl stuff for her DD so we were able to send most of our nursery things to them instead of trying to find a home for two rooms’ stuff. I think the last thing is getting the bookshelf straightened out and a few remanining items in the closet.

All of your nursery pictures are inspiring! I’ve got nothing to show yet, I’m still trying to figure out what I want in there!
Questions about chairs...I know I want something that reclines, but I’m wondering how important the swivel feature is. I’ve found a couple chairs I like that are not “nursery” chairs, but VERY comfortable. They rock and recline, but don’t swivel. Those of you who have a swivel chair, is it worth it? Those who don’t, do you wish you did? Thanks!
@jesiannv I got ended up getting a power recliner / glider that swivels. Not sure that the swivel is 100% needed, but I like the idea that if needed, it's easier to get things off the floor that may fall with a quick turn vs having to completely stand up with baby and pick up. Probably sound lazy, but I just imagine holding an 8 lb baby sleeping and trying to get around.

Baby girl won't have her own room, so I did what we could with one wall of our bedroom. And I actually adore it We live in a tiny old house; our closet is incredibly small, I got the idea to use one of those over the door rods and an organizer to store her clothing (paci's, mittens, etc are in another little mesh organizer hang behind it, also). The set up accommodates so much more storage space than I expected! On a tight budget -my parents had gifted us a very nice play yard/bassinet/changing table with diaper storage and this thing's fabulous. I used an old TV stand/bookcase to house blankies and toys in some baskets. I'm so happy about what I could manage in such a small space/house and keeping to the necessities. It can so be done
I have 2 other LO's and they both never had actual nurseries, either.😂 My firstborn had her own room but slept in a play yard up until she got a toddler bed; my second had a mini crib set up in our bedroom. Play yards are a mama's best friend IMO. They're nothin fancy but I truly prefer the versatility and value over having a crib. 35 weeks preg and can't handle how much I'm excited for baby!!!
@kelslynie we aren't doing an actual nursery either. We are setting up a pack n play in our room on one wall. No where near close though at 33 weeks and after my last appt, we had reality set it that lo can be here anytime now. So we're hopefully we'll finish set up today.
@kelslynie it looks really cute! I never had my own bedroom growing up (we were living with my grandparents in a 2-bedroom apartment!), so I know it's totally possible to make it work.
@kelslynie that looks awesome! We got a pack n play from my dad at our shower but no crib quite yet. I actually feel way more comfortable knowing that she has SOMETHING To sleep in now if all else fails. I love the set up. Very cozy!
Finally finished up LO’s room. It’s mostly a recycle of DD1’s room. But glad to have the crafty things done, even though she will be in our room for a few months.

@lelkcot I can’t take credit for that. It was painted that way when we moved in. 🙂 We really like it though and it’s nice not to have to paint the nursery!
We are renovating our new home and will be moving in 3/2/1 weeks before my due date (3/11) so all i have set up so far is his dresser with all his clothing and blankets. Hopefully I'll be able to get in there by mid February to set up the rest! We are keeping the baby & bassinet in our room foforthe first few months so I'm not too worried about being 100% finished before he is born.
We have half of our room done! We just need to add the bed and photos on the other wall. DH has been waiting for a warmer day to finish painting the bed frame and night stand white. Pretty much everything else came from DDs room.
@JLaVO888 LOVE LOVE LOVE! i love the name letters and the colors. I also think i just ordered the same/similar glider from Target in gray. How do you like it?
@zionsmama85 it did just job with DD but it’s not the most comfortable in the world. It needs an extra pillow or padding in the seat. I had a bit of a bruised tailbone with DD and it took me a while to realize it was from the hours I spent in the chair in a slouched position with my feet up on the foot rest.
Slowly making progress. Got the pack n play that will be LO’s changing table/dresser until after we move set up and arranged. Eventually I’ll swipe the recliner from my daughter’s room and put it near the pouf. The under bed storage will probably keep next size up clothes in it and once I figure out where all my fabric storage baskets ended up I’ll have a couple in the bassinet of the PnP for current sized clothes. I’m considering one of those ikea 3 tiered carts as a recliner side table, but haven’t decided yet. I’m trying to avoid buying any more furniture until we know what our next house will be like.

@lucysmom2016 ugh i love that orange color so much. i think i said this before LOL. i really like it with the gray and white! where did you get that elephant mobile? That's my theme, it caught my eye and i'm still looking around for little things lol
Haven't started much, but making progress.I received the painting i ordered from an artist i know, which i will probably hang by the door/light switch in the room. Got our crib, mattress and dresser done this weekend, and should be getting the glider and changing table this week (by Wed if Target isn't lying to me LOL), so once we have those pieces put together we can get everything set up and decorated and i will start washing clothes to put in the dresser. My dad is putting up some curtain rods and we have pink and gray elephant curtains im going to put up. I think i also want to buy some tubs to put sized up clothing in to conserve space. She has the biggest closet in the house, and definitely going to take advantage of that.
Got the changing table (hidden behind the crib) and glider put together last night...slowly but surely. I think this weekend I am buckling down and getting everything together.
We're hoping to get some wall art and a couple shelves hung next to the window but these things are happening slowly. Big win was getting clothes out of the crib into the dresser this weekend! Little by little!
Finally got the nursery about 95% done, just have to hang up some pics and some wall decals...but i feel official now, i am loving how it turned out! Just waiting to put the crib sheet on closer to D-Day, but got everything washed this weekend, crib sheets, towels, wash cloths and all clothes.
@JLaVO888 my sister actually made them, but she said she just got gift boxes and put wrapping paper on them and got the letters from Michaels and spray painted them. She is not crafty at all so it was very shocking and special that she had the patience to do that LOL.
I know there’s at least one other mountain themed nursery out there. The bottom mountain range I did in a tinted chalk paint so Baby can draw on it at some point in the future. Still not sure if that is a good or awful plan. Maybe they will learn it’s only ok to color on dark walls and the rest of our house will be safe? Feeling totally behind on the rest of the room though but should be coming together this and next week!
@dandpromadeababy I think its a great idea, that will be good for when you get to preschool age and can practice letters and numbers and shapes and things like that!
