Anyone else having eye issues?? I sit in front of a computer all day at work and around 2pm it starts to really strain my eyes and by the time I drive home I am nauseous! DH and I carpool and I even threw up (in my lunchbox that I had to throw away) on my way home Friday. I have tried taking off my glasses for a while, going for walks, etc. but nothing seems to work. The weekends I don't get it bc I am rarely on a computer!

@kosmo86 have you been to an eye doctor recently? Pregnancy hormones can cause serious changes to vision. I went to my eye doctor about a month ago and my astigmatism in one eye had gotten a lot worse (ironically, the prescription strength in that eye is actually very low, almost all of my distortion is due to the astigmatism.)
@kosmo86 my doctor thinks my daily headaches are due to eye strain from a changing Rx. He wants me to go to the eye doctor, but I'm avoiding it. I don't want to go now and have a new Rx for the next 5 weeks.
I have avoided the eye doctor due to time/money. It seems silly to get new glasses for so little time, since I know changes in eye sight mostly go back to normal. I only have 10 weeks left (~50 working days) and glasses are expensive!

@kosmo86 Pregnancy can change your vision and it’s not uncommon for eyesight to get worse afterwards. My eyes tend to get more tired then usual I’ve noticed but like @MRDCle I’m putting off getting it checked out till after this kid is done cooking.

@kosmo86 your vision may not go back, I haven't seen anything that says it would? In fact, my doctor told me I should come back after baby because it might even get worse. I got a 6 month supply of contacts when I went, and will go back and get re-checked when those run out if it seems like things might have changed more by then.
My nipple pain has come back with a mother effin vengence. Forg et any of my complaints about heartburn. Now the slightest breeze will set off a nipple vasospasm attack. Ill feel like i have a thousand knives going through them. Thing is... The rest of me isnt cold! Through this pregnancy ive been burning up so i try to stay cool. Hot showers help faster than anything but the other morning, i got sick from getting too hot in the shower. Its frustrating and miserable to find a comfortable temperature. This morning i was lazy and left to go thru a drive thru for breakfast this morning. I didnt let the car warm up first so I came home in tears because my nipples hurt so bad. I have a fairly high pain tolerance so my boyfriend felt so worried and helpless. Poor guy. He brought me a heating pad to hug to my chest, and did everything he could to make me more comfortable. I thought being pregnant in the winter was going to be a win for me but i guess not. April better get here fast.
@professormama my OB implied that the changes are temporary - that the eye changes shape due to extra fluids and the like. He didn't say that my eyes would go back to the way they are now, but if there are any changes postpartum I would still hate to use my one allotted eye appointment per year 5 weeks before delivery. I know most of you have longer, but for me to get in to the eye doctor, get an appointment, and get new glasses in it'll be at least 3 weeks. So him asking me to basically get glasses for 2 weeks has me eyerolling.
I am unable to get physically comfortable this morning. Standing, sitting, lying down...no matter what, something is out of whack. Fx it’s a today thing and not a next seven weeks thing.
@kristenhk I did, I think I posted about in the randoms. Thankfully my labs showed totally normal levels and MFM said to take Benadryl if my itching gets too bad. I’m still itchy on my legs and arms but apparently that’s not the cause.

Ouch @professormama I feel your pain! My leg and foot cramps have finally subsided (knock on all the wood). Not sure why or what changed for me though, but I second @kangstadt bananas seem to help lots.

@professormama@kangstadt my mom gets really bad leg/foot cramps at night and her doctor recommended eating more potatoes saying that they're really high in potassium. Not sure if either of you like them but she said she actually noticed a big difference.
Apparently my lack of comfort was a day of BH contractions (according to the OB who listened to my jumbled description), and fortunately I woke up this morning without the same issue. Now to clean up from the messes created yesterday by everyone else in the household.
Thanks for the advice and sympathy y'all. I'm definitely going to eat a banana today. I think I might also have just been somewhat dehydrated yesterday so today I'm guzzling water.
My pelvic pain has flared back up tonight. I’m sure my walk tonight before dinner didn’t really help with that (but my MFM has really encouraged walking more). And I actually enjoyed my walk with DH because it gave us some time outside of our apartment and to wander around our neighborhood together while he let me talk about my day.
@mighty_montgomery it was in the 40’s I think. A little windy but we bundled up. In another life (and location) we were runners so I have tons of cold gear that comes in handy now. If I had managed to motivate myself a little earlier, it would have been beautiful out because my short walk to the train after work was super nice.
So, last night DH and I took a chocolate making class (which was great even if I couldn’t eat any of it ) stood for 2 hours and felt fine. Drove home and suddenly had an army of very angry hemorrhoids and could barely walk. Soaked in the tub until things quieted down enough to sleep and started the day off with a trip to the drug store (happy Valentine’s Day to me!). What the hell?! If anyone has any magical remedies please share because today is a real struggle
@MRDCle yikes. I really hope it eases up and your BP stays under control.
Omg the pelvic pain and pressure is so unpleasant this week. It’s just getting worse and worse. Combined with the back pain, I’m basically never comfortable.
@professormama do baths or showers help at all? Last pregnancy I would just shower a couple times a day until we ran out of hot water because it was all that helped my back. Then I would bounce on a yoga ball for my hips.
Pretty sure I ate something bad because I was puking last night and again this morning. DH also felt yuck. Plus acid reflux that hasn’t yet been tamed by mint tea or bagels. I’m going to be watching a lot of daytime tv today, and DD keeps checking in to give me kisses.
@MRDCle so baths and showers help with the back pain. But they make my ankles hurt really bad? My husband thinks the heat is causing swelling. So basically just trading one pain for a different one. Hah. But I’m glad you mentioned the ball. I have one from my last pregnancy that I totally forgot about. I might pull it out again.
@professormama Do you ever use a heating pad? I've been using one for my back which seems to help. Then I can have my feet elevated, so I feel like I'm accomplishing two things - helping my back but reducing feet swelling.
I was just walking around the office and I'm not sure what it was but something is irritating my cervix. A baby foot maybe? Thanks bud, move away!
My constant plugged ear has finally subsided and I can hear again after weeks of not being able to, but now I have a full on cold. I'd like to feel fine for at least a day.

@MRDCle: No fun! I hope it goes away soon. At least it's almost the weekend?
@professormama: That was me last week, especially with the pelvic pressure. I found experimenting with pillow arrangements (oh the crazy things that happen in bed these days) helped a bit? I hope something turns a corner and it lets up soon.
I feel like I have 4-5 good days followed by 4-5 bad days. It always *feels* like baby/uterus go on a wild-n-crazy growing spree that makes everything tight/awful for a little bit, then my body catches up and things chill out for a while, then baby/uterus grow more, rinse & repeat.
But I'm pretty sure that's basically the very unscientific pregnant lady equivalent of how, when I was little, I thought your stomach rumbling was when it got empty enough that the gears inside just ground on each other...
@rennie1108 mmmm I don’t have a heating pad, but that might actually help. I have been curling up with an electric blanket. Maybe I could just shove that behind my back!
@lyse01 boo food poisoning. That’s like an extra special level of hell on top of pregnancy.
@mermaidca ugh colds. I’ve had the ear congestion since October. I’m just hoping it goes away when I’m not pregnant anymore. So annoying.
@TheSouffleGirl the things we come up with to explain what’s happening in our bodies! I have all kinds of unscientific and silly theories.
@professormama, you can also use a long tube sock, pour a bunch of rice in it, and tie it off. Instant heating pad . I usually put it in the microwave for 90 seconds-2 minutes with a small bowl of water to guarantee the rice won't burn.
@professormama agree with @kangstadt on the rice socks. My grandma has made me a number of corn bags (same concept) that I use as both heating and ice packs and they have been my life savers when my back has bothered me lately.
+1 to the crazy pelvic pressure and waddling. also this may be TMI even for this group, but this is baby number two and my cervix is hanging really low. So low that when I am on the toilet it peeks out of my vagina. I was super freaked out by this at first but my OB promises me that baby will stay in there and this will go back to normal after delivery/postpartum recovery.
@kangstadt and @jlklec19 so funny story. I have a rice sock, but no microwave. Our microwave broke 6 months ago and has not been repaired or replaced.
@sister_c holy crap? You’re sure that’s normal?! It sounds like prolapse or something (I’m not a medical doctor and def have no clue about anything). And also super uncomfortable.
