Re: Randoms 1/28

  • @professormama, I just saw that idea the other day.  I'll have to give it a shot next tubby!

Also, @stefanielyn1991, +1 here for what PP said.  You need to have a serious talk with SO if he can't understand that no means no, even/especially in a committed relationship.  If it's not pleasurable for you and not something you're feeling down with, then he should be considerate.  Remind him he has two hands - use 'em.  After you have the baby, you might not feel up to sex for anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months after, and he needs to get that through his head now.

@lilpotatomama, I'm glad little girl is head down!  Hope all the tests come out okay and you get some rest this weekend.

As for me, DH confirmed that he only gets 5 days of sick leave.  :expressionless:  With DS1, we were in the hospital for four days.  I'm tempted to tell DH to go to work if I'm stuck in the hospital just so he can maybe take a day or two off when we get home with baby.  Ughhh.

  • @lilpotatomama I hope everything is ok!

@kangstadt boo. That sucks so much.
  • @lilpotatomama: Thinking of you! Hope you get a break from appointments after this.

@stephanielyn1991: I think it's pretty normal to be a mess about sex right now. I know I sure am.  But I echo the ladies above. This is one of the ways our SOs "get" to share some of our frustrations and discomforts, and that means everyone needs to have adjusted expectations. Hoping you can have a productive conversation about it!
  • @professormama @kangstadt @TheSouffleGirl thanks, y’all! I guess my earlier comment didn’t post, but all is definitely well with baby and I’m doing okay, too. I’m just so crazy anemic that the usual shortness of breath and heart racing during third tri is 100x worse. I’m probably going to have to cut down on hours at work, because this is the third time this week that I haven’t been able to get my heart rate below 130 even after laying down. They don’t want to put me on bedrest, but they want me to cut my activity in half, basically.  I’m home now with chicken tenders and cole slaw and ready for some me time. Going to try to enjoy my unplanned evening off, at least!
  • @lilpotatomama @professormama thanks for reading I just needed to vent. I did talk to him he understands hes actually very sweet just a horny guy
  • This is the second time in the last few days that I’ve had to leave work in the middle of a shift. I feel so frustrated. Today my hip pain is so bad I can’t even walk.
  • @stefanielyn1991 my hubs and I just had a conversation about this.

We discussed other methods of intimacy to make sure are more frequent, like cuddling and hugs and me remembering to touch him at all during a day. Haha. As well as how I literally need 12 hrs of prep/thought time to be in a place where sex is interesting at all.

Anyway, I’m glad you feel safe to vent here and I recommend a good conversation about how to procede
with intimacy and your pregnancy and the whole post partum dry spell.

I actually would like a whole thread about sexual wellness during pregnancy.

The memorial today was really good. It’s hard to see an 18yr olds life over like that. She was really sweet and vibrant.

I’ve been dizzy all afternoon but if I lay down my reflux and heartburn are bad. I think I over did it today. Or maybe emotional taxation is high?

  • @kbirchtree we cuddle and everything I just cannot get in the mood at all.
As for the dizzy I was just dizzy and lightheaded for 2 days straight. Hopefully you can take it easy
  • @ysotte, I'm sorry, that's so rough!  Does anything help, heating packs, chiropractor, massage?

@kbirchtree, I haven't been having dizzy spells lately, but earlier on they were happening often due to low blood pressure and dehydration.  Make sure you're taking care of yourself as much as you can!

@honey_suckle, I'd be worried too, fingers crossed that everything looks okay after more testing and babies stay cooking in there!

  • @honey_suckle Hope all continues to be well and you can keep those babies in you to full term!

  • @kangstadt this is the first time it’s been this bad. I’ve been using a heating pad, but I don’t feel like it’s doing much. Can’t really do much else on a Sunday. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m supposed to work this morning and it still hurts too much.
  • Any mamas have tips for diastasis recti?  Like maybe ways to prevent it getting any worse?  I have ten weeks to go and already have a three fingers width separation :expressionless:.  With DS1 it only ever got to one finger's width by birth.  I'm worried it won't heal back after, and my doctor doesn't seem at all concerned when I mention it.  I guess they view it as normal/common and not an issue?  I'm stressed because I'm an athletic person and exercising is key to my mental health.  I have a friend who had to have corrective surgery for hers because she couldn't sit up out of bed by herself, and insurance wouldn't cover it because it was "cosmetic."  Ugh.  One more thing to stress about this pregnancy...
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @kangstadt I’ve read that you should be careful to roll to sit up etc.  My midwife diagnosed me with it sometime in the 2nd trimester. I wanted to be able to run a 5k this November so I’m hoping it resolves on its own.  But I found very few resources on prevention.
  • @honey_suckle Fingers crossed for you and those babies!!

@kangstadt and @ysotte no advice for either of you. But ouch, I’m sorry!
  • @saucentoss, I have a PT friend who told me to avoid any movement/exercise that makes it tent, so I've been careful about that.  I've also had friends suggest the MuTu system for recovery after.  Good luck on your recovery also!  I would think a 5K would be doable by November, depending on how you're feeling.  It's just frustrating that doctors don't seem at all concerned about it.

  • @kangstadt no advice but I’m sorry you have to deal with that. I know there are certain exercises and movements you need to avoid to not worsen it. As an athletic person too Diastasis recti is one of my fears. Maybe ask if you can get a referral for PT to help you out.
@honey_suckle good thoughts for both you and your babies that you get some answers soon!
  • @kangstadt the book “how to heal your mummy tummy” has lots of good advice. Mostly to help heal after birth but the book helps at any point postp.
  • @kangstadt I’ve seen this program recommended https://go.girlsgonestrong.com/mgs-moms-order
they have a fb group for questions too
  • I painted DDs nails for the first time ever today and it’s super adorable how excited she is about it.

  • Babe is all up in my ribs this weekend.  Either his butt or back or head or something, but ouch.  I'm just hoping this means he's decided to turn head down and stay there.  Breathing is overrated anyway, right?
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @kangstadt right there with you. Last night after I laid down to finally go to sleep he finally shifted down a little because I was able to take a decent breath but man is uncomfortable. It doesn’t help that I’m 5’3 and poor little guy just probably has nowhere to go. 😬
  • I haven't done well with keeping up this weekend. Getting over the flu, and now DD has it. She practically never gets sick, but when she does it hits her hard. She's been absolutely pitiful and has just wanted me to hold her nonstop. I'm exhausted. That is all.
  • @kangstadt:  A friend of mine used "Moms Into Fitness" postpartum and really liked it for diastasis recti; she all but closed hers up.  We're pregnant at the same time now and she has me doing their pregnancy stuff, which I have really enjoyed, and the gal in the videos constantly talks about what to do/not do to minimize DR.

I have a couple of friends who have really liked the Mutu System, but it's so expensive that I'm probably going to try some other options first.  I did try one or two days of it with them when I wasn't really postpartum (DD was like two) and wasn't super impressed.  I felt like Moms Into Fitness put a lot more effort into helping me understand which exact muscles are involved in DR and how to hold your core when exercising to help it out (there was a whole intro on it even for pregos).

But that's all based on 2 weeks of one system and 2 days of another, so, take it for what it's worth. :P
  • @honey_suckle I read your post but didn't have a chance to reply this weekend - I'm sorry you're having a bit of a scare with Twin1. Our boys have been dropping in their growth percentiles and it's terrible thinking that they're not getting what they need. I hope your cord dopplers are reassuring today!!

  • @honey_suckle I'm a little late to the game here.  My TwinB had IUGR and the size discrepancy between TwinA and B was 45%.  I'm here to listen or talk if you need!  Fingers crossed for you!!
