  • @cwell2016 @lappymom2019 I did my registry on Target.com and transfered it to Babylist so I still have my registry at the store. We only have one true place to shop for babies (Target) so I like having babylist since I can add other online items that are specific to our taste.

  • @imrachellea if he's that serious about taking them down, why doesn't he do it himself? 

    I feel terrible today. My blood pressure has been all over the place, my head is hurting, my arm is numb and tingly, I am thinking I've already posted this somewhere now that I'm typing 😂 H went to the store this morning and then came home to fiddle in the garage. DS was nice enough to sit next to me quietly on my phone while I took a nap. I went downstairs to talk to H and he was like "you need to go take a shower, or whatever you need to do to wake up. ...or go back to sleep" I was like "oh... I like that second idea." So I'm upstairs, DS is in his playroom and H is in the garage. At some point I do need to get up and clean. Christmas stuff is already down, but the playroom is a disaster area. 
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds He was taking down the inside lights, which there was significantly more of. He ended up taking all the lights down and is currently boxing all the ornaments I took off the tree, and I took a nap 😆 So I guess whatever irritation he had is gone now.

    @mcewen3 disappointing game, eh? Your New Years sounds very similar to mine, except that I’m not that into hockey so didn’t really watch it. 

    I “let” DH stay later at friends last night while I took the girls home to bed (DD made it to midnight! And rolls over a fell asleep at 12:02...) so I’m really hoping he puts both girls to bed tonight...

    @cwell2016 no, I still got my completion discounts for each store. I made the registries on Target/BRU/Amazon individually and then just added those links to Babylist. The only items I had on Babylist were things I couldn't register for at the other three, like an Etsy listing or a hamper I liked off a random website. @lappymom2019 people were able to either shop online or shop in store at Target and BRU!

    Basically I was still managing three registries myself plus 4-5 items off random places on Babylist but it was much easier for those buying us gifts. They only needed the Babylist link and from there everything was easily accessible instead of typing in the links for three different stores. Hope that made sense!

  • For Christmas I got an Instax mini camera and last night we took a bunch of pictures. My best friend and I got to talking that it'd be cool to get a cork board to pin all the pictures we take to it. I ended up doing this today, and I'm waiting on a decal that says "friends gather here" to go above. Am thinking of a small buffet table to go under because there's still a lot of wall left.

    So disappointing!!  Especially the end.  So many chances and they just couldn’t deliver. The first period was great, if for nothing else the kids were so into it, lol.  DD1 was commentating as I was getting drinks in the kitchen and all I could hear was “Go white, get the puck!  No, no, no!  Not red!  No Russia,  come on Canada!  Wrong way!!”  She doesn’t know the rules well but I think DH was quite pleased that she’s starting to get the jist of it.  Now if only he could convince one of them to play, his life would be complete.  But they both seem dedicated to being figure skaters for the time being.

  • We spent New Years with my siblings in Canada. It was so wonderful.the cousins spent the whole night running around the house and playing, we all played a few games together, and then my sister made chocolate fondue. Which the boys loved! Then my brother came today and we all went for lunch and bowling. I miss living close to my family so much! It was great to be able to catch up with everyone and recharge my Canadian batteries. 
  • Physically I’m at work. Mentally, I’m somwhere in the Caribbean. Ugh! Teaching certainly has its perks. Going back after a break is not one of them!

  • So, I've been having trouble getting nutrition because of lack of appetite and food aversions. I basically eat spaghetti, Cheerios and whatever I can find for dinner. It's not enough and I'm feeling it. 

    So, I got this brilliant idea to look into a plant based diet. I can't stomach meat still. I started looking up vegan diets as I ate my Cheerios and milk. Took an awfully long time for me to realize what was wrong with that picture 😂 so maybe I won't go completely vegan, but my idea is just to make sure I'm getting the nutrients I need without eating meat-- since I'm not anyway. 
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds that's a great idea, since you don't like meat right now anyways. I'm meat-light and was last pregnancy since I'm just not that into it so am focusing on my iron intake. One of my big "things" is spacing out calcium and iron when possible (avoid calcium an hour before and 2 hours after an iron rich meal) and having sources of iron with vitamin C. What little meat I eat, I try to pair with beans or lentils (which also have some calcium but that's okay, I'm just not having yogurt or a latte or cheese). Leafy greens (Kale, cabbage, Brussels sprouts) are good sources of calcium if you're going full vegan but doesn't sound like that's your plan. I've never done plant based so not much help beyond the above. My doctor has also been great at food recommendations when things come up (slight anemia last pregnancy, BFing this pregnancy so increased needs for calcium).

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I so feel you on the diet front. I am basically living off cereal, waffles, and spaghetti. I can't stomach much meat, vegetables, and forget about chicken. Do the best you can and remember to take your prenatal vitamins. My SIL made me feel better about it by reminding me that she had a very healthy baby and she basically lived off apples and milk.

  • @kvh22 thank you for the information. I may do something like that instead. I don't really feel the need or desire to go full vegan, I just need to work on getting nutrients. I've been taking my prenatals better than I had been, but I'm just miserable and I know it's because I'm not healthy. Going to start adding greens to my meals. I love broccoli and I could add that to my spaghetti (I just eat the noodles with garlic powder, butter and parmesan cheese). Think tonight I might do stir fry with teriyaki chicken. I need to up my protein. I am kind of wanting tuna, that has a ton. Or shrimp. Chicken sounds terrible but tuna and shrimp sound good. I need to buy beans and lentils and more veggies. I'm just so blah. No appetite and when I have one I just want something quick and easy.

    Here the kids back to school on Monday. I’m looking forward to more of a routine when they go back, but I really do hate packing lunches, trying to get them out the door on time, and homework!

  • Things on my to do list today, take down the Christmas decorations, laundry and dishes. My kids are watching The Greatest Showman for like the 50th time. We bought it a couple of days ago and it’s all they want to watch and when they aren’t watching it they are signing the songs.

  • DS went back to therapy today and school starts back tomorrow. Back to reality. I'm trying to clean the house, the playroom is a disaster and him being gone is the only time I can clean. 

    I ate some scrambled eggs with whole wheat toast and feel significantly better. I need to just force myself to eat more protein and veggies. 
  • @SpaceBurger seriously?! I've never heard that before, I am about to eat all the apples and all the leafy greens. Poor DS, that explains a lot 😂

  • @SpaceBurger I did not reply lol. We literally haven't spoken in almost 2 years. Like, we're not that close, sis, if I wanted the general FB public to know my business I'd post an announcement. She can take several seats.

    @SpaceBurger she sounds a real treat. Why's she so miserable?

    DS had PT this morning, then I went to my mommy and me workout class, and we had a playgroup after. The ladies at the playgroup made me feel really good about how I look, which was just sweet of them. A lot of "I can't believe you're 19 weeks, you look amazing!" I think since baby girl is really low I'm not showing as much as I did at this time my first pregnancy. Don't get me wrong - I am DEFINITELY showing, it just still looks like maybe I had a huge burrito...all the time. I'm showered and on the couch. I have a lot of laundry to fold but I'm pretty exhausted and just want to sit here. I also finally bought maternity workout leggings and I can't wait to get the., today was rough in my normal ones.

    @eatinwatermelonseeds I feel you on the bad diet. Food aversions are strong here. I try to force myself to eat "hidden meat" like in taco bell or chipotle every once in a while. Sometimes I can stomach beef jerky or the ultra-healthy meat stick type things. What about beans? I've been able to eat baked beans because they're so sweet! 

    We had a very low key New Year's. We got Indian food take out and drank sparkling white grape juice. DH and I fell asleep on the couch shortly after east coast new year (so like 9:15), and woke up when the dog wanted to be let outside at 10:15 lol. We went to dim sum with my parents yesterday. I completely overstuffed myself and did not feel well at all in the afternoon. DD and DH actually left me alone and I napped for 2+ hours! It's a new year's day miracle!

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I totally get the race for protein. I used to LOVE eggs and would not have minded eating eggs all the time, but lately I've just not been at all interested. With still having so much nausea  there are some days (like today) where I'm lucky to get anything down, and it usually has to be a carb.
    When I'm not feeling to nauseous or in the evenings when I'm starving (since I've been nauseous all day) I've been trying to eat more salmon, but another good find for lots of protein are Quorn patties/nuggets/fish sticks, etc. They're made of a mushroom based protein (no soy) and has been one protein I've been able to eat. Good luck finding some good options. 
  • @DuchessOfCambridge I just switched to maternity yoga pants today, too. Two weeks ago they were falling off me, but apparently fit now! It sounds like a great day and get some rest!

    @brie_and_almonds OMG!! I remember you were looking for your favorite bra everywhere. How cute of your DD...a great surprise for you and adorable gesture from your DD. Little girls are so sweet! 


  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I saw a nutritionist in my first tri who suggested adding beans into quesadillas for added protein.  I sneak broccoli or spinach into my kids’ quesadilas so you could also try that if broccoli is appealing to you?  It takes like a minute and is pretty bland, while also sneaking in a little nutrition.  (Also If avocado sounds doable to you, obviously guacamole is great with a quesadilla...)
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I don't know if you like hummus but I have that for protein on days I don't want meat. Sometimes I can tell (or I feel like I can tell haha) that I'm nauseous because my body needs protein and hummus helps a lot.

  • I really think lack of protein is causing these headaches. I'm not a huge fan of hummus, but may try some. I have thought about beans but didn't consider putting them in a quesadilla, that's a great idea. Thank you ladies. 
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds My first pregnancy I couldn't stomach meat unless it was chopped up in a stir fry or soup. I ended up getting a lot of my protein from Greek yogurt and cottage cheese as I intensely craved both.

  • @knarlytaurus Yes, it was the one I posted about a while ago! I'm so glad it turned up, cause I had given up on it and I was definitely going to buy another one and it was pricey.
