Just catching up on the thread and happy for all the good appointments! We went to Louisiana last week and I tried to disconnect as much as I could. Had my 16wk appointment yesterday and while everything went well, we left so angry. I saw a different provider, which is the norm with the military, and she was great. But I clarified some issues I had with the MW I had my first 2 appts. I had messaged about a refill on my folic acid and he sent in the wrong dosage. He sent just the standard and I take double that, so I just continued to take my normal dose and she told me that was the correct thing to do. Then I asked again about my MFM referral. I have the level 2 anatomy scan scheduled 1/16 and I asked the first MW if that was normal to wait so long and he said yeah and just kinda brushed it off. It just didn't sit right with me because my MFM in Nashville had said something different. Well the MW yesterday said he apparently misunderstood and thought I had a family history of NTD and not a personal history. Not sure how he could make that mistake. But I should've already been seen and had an early US about 2 weeks ago. So now we have no choice but to wait 2 more weeks. I've been so anxious this pregnancy not knowing and now so upset that the opportunity was lost. Now we just have to wait for the Quad Screen results to come in and US in 2 weeks.
Appointment went well, basic urine sample, blood pressure and Doppler check. It took the midwife a few minutes to find the HB so I’m glad I didn’t yet have a Doppler to freak myself out. Little girl is very active and kept moving but she was able to get a HB of 159! They also drew blood for the quad marker test, so should know those results in a week. Next appointment isn’t until Feb 1st, they changed their procedures and don’t do the anatomy scan until 22 weeks bc they found they can get a better view of the heart then. So I am glad I got a Doppler bc 5 weeks is going to be a long wait!
16 wk apointment went well! Did urine and Doppler. Then we did an internal exam and pap since we hadn't done one yet. I'm already scheduled with mfm for 1/29/19 for my as. Then I'll follow up with my ob on 2/5/19. I also bought a Doppler because these waits between apts are killing me!
Did anyone have cramping after their internal? The Dr. told me to expect some bleeding because there was spotting during the exam but the weird twinges are freaking me out a little.
@dntstpbelieveing I didn’t have an internal this time around. I’m sorry you’re having cramping. It’s such a nerve wracking symptom to have after a loss.
@dntstpbelieveing I haven't had to have one yet, but when I was pg with DD, I got cramping and spotting after my pap and subsequent internals. It sucked. Hope you feel better
