Okay so, I hosted yesterday. In laws flakes out because they wanted steaks for dinner (this is actually a huge fight between us and caused a giant blow up last year) and didn’t come see the boys at all. So shitty.

Then my brother flaked out st the last minute and got mad that we couldn’t do something Thursday night. My husband works this week, Thursday is not a good day. Also the day we originally planned was good for us, so not my problem.

And lastly, my friend was bringing her two daughters and asked—while she was already on her way—if she could bring an extra kid with her. At that point I can’t say no but she knows I’m pregnant and have HG so I’m insanely sick. But suuuuure. Go ahead and bring a strange child to my house on Christmas Day.

I am so ranty and ragey lately.

I took the rest of the week off. My husband was supposed to be off too but he ended up having to work. It wouldn’t bother me if I didn’t feel so sick but I already had told daycare dd was staying home and now I’m a miserable puky mess with a cranky toddler. I envisioned such a different week. I can’t wait until second tri.

It is an epic battle right now between DH and I. The arguing is so bad that I can’t even begin to put all of the details here. I’m ready to take an early flight home from visiting in laws.

@lilmamabebe3 Yeah, all of that deserves a WTF--picking a fight over steaks? Who eats steak on Christmas/during the holidays?! Getting mad over rescheduling when the cancellation was last minute? And I could see if it was a child in need and she's providing respite care, but otherwise....who does that?

@moon1417 I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. Definitely feel you on being ready for second trimester.

@suzycupcake Ouch! I'm not married now, but I remember how tense holidays with the in-laws sometimes were with my ex-husband. It will be okay once you get away from his folks. Hang in there.

@deecherise yeah it’s absurd. It’s been a point of contention for years and is an ongoing joke between my friend group. My FIL says he hates turkey so he needs to bring steak but he used to cook a turkey every holiday so it makes no sense.

Its honestly a control thing. They hate that we don’t go anywhere for the holidays so they just boundary cross and act like complete assholes. Last year H and I both talked to them about not bringing steaks to our house for Christmas but they did it anyway, it caused a huge fight. It was so rude. So this year they didn’t make time to see their grandsons at all. Spent five days in a row at SILs house seeing her daughter but that’s normal. It’s so frustrating.
