@bakerstreetboys I am so sorry that you are being thrown another possible issue. Life is cruel.
I had sincerely hoped that my not being able to stay would mean that at least the rest of you were "safe". Totally crazy since I don't even "know" any of you and it legit doesn't work that way.... I'm heartbroken that it doesn't seem to be the case and that you (and ruby) are stuck in limbo hell even longer.
@bakerstreetboys I am so incredibly sorry to hear this. It is just so unfair that after everything, it can't just be easy.
I am relieved that you have a heartbeat and I hope so hard that you will get better news next week. If you need to talk or commiserate about the hell of a week of waiting, feel free to PM me.
@bakerstreetboys I am so sorry that you are in limbo another week! A legitimate question though is how could they tell that at just 8 weeks? And also I thought REs weren't trained in that kind of thing. Just holding out tons of hope for you!
@bakerstreetboys oh no! I am so sorry. I’m amazed that they can see that kind of abnormality at 8 weeks. I really hope nothing is wrong. I’ll be thinking of you this whole week.
*lurking* This is all shitty and so unfair. Standing with you, shoulder to shoulder, my heart is with all of you ladies
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

@bakerstreetboys I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I will add my voice to the chorus in saying that (a) life is stupidly unfair sometimes and (b) I *really* hope this turns out to be a blip. We’re here for you.
Thanks ladies. Of course we’re just hoping that it was a bad angle, or that it was too early, but when we were waiting for the RE and looking at the picture, I commented to DH that it looked weird. So even to my untrained eye, I could see that something looked very different. I’m going to call my OB today and ask if he can get me in for an ultrasound sooner than a week from now. They were going to send him the pictures so maybe he’ll have an opinion. He’s super booked though so we’ll see.
@bakerstreetboys I would agree it seems surprising they even see something like that at 8 weeks. I’m sorry you are having to go through the stress and worry and really hoping it was a weird fluke and next time all looks perfect.
@bakerstreetboys So many hugs to you. Hopefully your OB can get you in ASAP. I will be thinking of you this week and hoping so hard that you get some good news.
I’m suddenly symptomless and it is freaking me the f out. This was what happened with my first MC albeit much earlier on. My ultrasound is Dec 5th. Has anyone just called in and asked for an US because you’re freaking out? Did you get laughed out of the building?
@ncm1919 how many weeks are you? If you are around 10-11 they might be able to do a quick Doppler check.
My OB said she would see me whenever I wanted. I’m trying to be chill until our next appointment, also in the 5th. (As long as I don’t have anymore spotting)

@ncm1919 my nurse told me the trick to get another ultrasound if I start freaking out. Maybe call your doctor and see what they say? I would hope they would be understanding since you have a history of loss.
@sparklingdiamond thank you for thinking of me. It’s at 2:15 pacific time. I’m super nervous but hopefully being at work will make the time go by quicker.
@antera23 good luck today! @ncm1919 My OB is really good with getting me in to give me peace of mind because of my previous losses.
Which leads me to my appointment today. They squeezed me in this morning, and although he didn’t have the report from yesterday’s RE appointment, they did another ultrasound and didn’t see any issues. He said he can’t rule anything out, but that 8 weeks is too early because a fetus doesn’t have any real bones in their skull yet. I am relieved and will be nervous until they can confirm that everything is ok, but I am also super pissed off at my RE. She didn’t explain any of this and just stressed us out for no reason. My OB will do another ultrasound in two weeks. What a roller coaster. Thanks for the support 😊
@bakerstreetboys oh thank goodness! I was also wondering about headshape at 8 weeks with no bones. And one would think an OB would know better than an RE in this instance. I hope things continue to move more smoothly with less stress for you from here on out.
We seriously can’t lose anymore pgal ladies. It breaks my heart and puts me in such a foul mood. Poor DH has gotten the brunt of it lately. You all are my little family here.

@bakerstreetboys I am SO glad your OB got you in today. I would also be pissed at the RE what a huge bomb to drop and walk away. Still sending you lot of thoughts and love.
i have to admit when I saw 11 new posts on this board my heart dropped, but it’s so nice to see some good news here.
and I agree, I feel most at “home” here too. I’ve been in a funk the past few days (for no real reason) I think part of it is the rest of the board is mostly cheery and excited, which is what you should be when your KU, but I’m just not there yet. Anytime I get remotely optimistic my PGAL brain says “stop right there, we still have time to ruin this” 😔
@sparklingdiamond I feel you, I also feel bad posting this while others are in limbo, but....
I went in for my 10 week appointment today and my doctor, who is lovely, offered to do a super quick ultrasound at the beginning to reassure me. And there it was! A healthy 10-week-old baby with a strong heartbeat. I almost couldn't believe it. I cried like a baby.
