checked out the ultrasound thread for the first time in a few weeks to take a peak at @meatballs37 3D u/s. and holy crap that is so freaking neat! I had no idea a 3D would be so cool this early.
@nmbrcrnchr1 I hope you are up for the challenge of getting nominated as an admin for the fb group then. Your campaign has been pretty wrong. 😆
But in all seriousness, we voted for three admins in our A16 fb group and it worked out great to have an odd number.

I just never understand it when people complain about something where participation is optional. And why say something mean just for the purpose of making people feel bad? This is only the second BMB I have participated in but so far it is my favorite! I feel very supported here and I always do try to give support right back.
If the goal was to make someone feel bad, I'd say it was a failure 😂 They will need to try harder. Note, in my head I'm singing Daniel Tiger "Just keep trying, you'll get be-etter" 😂
I actually really love Daniel Tiger, haha. We watched a lot of him when I was at my NSTs with the twins and needed to keep my oldest distracted (he was only about 19 months old).

@KissMeImScottish I do too! It's my favorite of all the shows DS likes. But, I also use to watch Mr Roger's aaaalllll the time with my Aunt because she loved it. So, it reminds me of her (she passed a few years ago).
Working from home this afternoon, and I'm watching the Food Network app. They just ran an ad for LeapFrog or Vtech or one of those kid technology toy companies, with a flight attendant asking parents if they want a drink. The first two parents have stickers and candy and stuff all over them and are like "nope, we're good" and they get a "yeah, sure" look from the flight attendant. The third one is a mom who asks for a club soda with lime, and her little kid (with headphones and baby laptop) looks up and goes "make that two please." Then they put the name of whatever company it is with #ParentingWin under it. I don't even know who it is, I was just IRATE about it. No judgment for people who keep their kids quiet with technology -- I've been on enough flights to Disney World with a million kids, and am cool with parents using whatever they need to give their kids a good flight. But WTF kind of message is that for a company to send? Like, be a little more subtle! That was the most blatant parent-shaming I've ever seen. I kind of hope they air it again so I can mark down who it was and NOT buy from them because it was horrible.
(sorry, this from the girl who literally this morning said she also hates when people blast companies online without contacting them...but a big national brand might be a little bit of an exception for me.)

but seriously I just like organization, although if you saw my house right now you’d prob believe otherwise, but the July BMB had 21 new threads the first day it was open....21!?! I couldn’t take it, I like this board.
@ki1244 thats totally parent shaming! I hope you shame them. We plan on limiting screen time... somewhere in the middle of my kid watches no tv and my kid knows how to work my phone better than I do.... a kid is meant to be a kid.
I feel kinda bad because DS has strep and had to be out of preschool yesterday and today. He was at my dad's a bit yesterday because I couldn't take him to the u/s at my RE (they ask you don't bring kids out of respect, which I totally get). Anyways, I was trying to work from home today and he kept wanting to play and I feel bad because I couldn't. I asked if he could go back over to my dad's so I could get some stuff done, but now I am just messing around on here. My dad helps me out a lot with him and I feel bad because I don't want to seem like I'm just trying to get rid of him or anything. We have just had so much going on with the pregnancy and moving and everything. Just feeling kinda like a bad mom lately.
Chiming in that the #admins are pretty awesome here and I thoroughly enjoy the organization. Although I’m another that you’d never know bc my house looks like a tornado just came through. Keep it up ladies!
I haven't even opened the announcement thread. I have already told everyone I plan to tell and I plan to just post pics of my squishy newborn on FB. With this being my 5th pregnancy, I don't get many congratulations. It's more like, "why? Why on earth do you want another?" I also assume these people think these pregnancies are unplanned, which they aren't.
@emeraldcity603 people are assholes. When i told my parents i had to STRESS that it was planned because we told everyone for 10 years we were never having kids. So now that we are having 1 kid i am sure the unplanned question will come up
#admin for the win!! @emeraldcity603 I know I’ll get a lot of that too. Not only was this very planned, it took two cycles of IVF, so nope, baby #5 wasn’t an “oops”. I just don’t feel the need to tell anyone that we went the IVF route because it’s none of their business.
@emeraldcity603, you know, it’s actually nice to hear you voice that because it’s been nagging at me at lot. This is my third pregnancy, fourth baby, and the plan was always 4, but this happened rather unexpectedly, and admittedly, I’m almost ashamed to say that I’m nervous about the response from friends and family. I know, logically, that my family will be happy, but it’s been the nagging fear of mine since we found out, which has really, I think, contributed to my anxiety that I’ve talked about here before. It’s nice to know it’s not just me that’s experienced that judgement (for lack of a better word).

I really don't want to stop at 5. I'm hoping I can get DH on board for 1 more. Our teenager is turning 18 in 1.5 years and is determined to move out asap. So, we won't be supporting him and there will be plenty for a 6th.
People think nothing of telling you how they feel about how many kids you have. I swear, if I had a penny for everytime someone said to me, "wow, you have your hands full," I would be a millionaire.
Society’s ideal of what a family needs to look like can be very frustrating. I’m sorry to those who have received comments that irk them! Today the OB nurse actually said “Oh, let’s hope it’s a girl since you have a boy!” 😑😑😑 I’d be just as happy with another boy, thanks.
@luckystar28 thats super annoying. Like having 2 the same would make things a ton easier... hand me downs most importantly. Its like being asked are you going to breast feed? Will you find out sex? Buzz off. I swear to god if someone tries to touch my stomach I will prob end up with an assault charge lol
I had some random lady at the grocery store stop me and rub my stomach. I backed up so fast I ran into a display. Being pregnant doesn't mean I no longer have personal space. Do not enter my bubble!
I lived in CA about 10 years ago and there was a fire. People were still outside exercising. They were inhaling a ton of smoke. That is so not good for your health.
@sparklingdiamond ...failing to see how any of that makes you a bad mom. It makes you someone with responsibilities who has someone nearby to help manage them, which everyone needs from time to time. If your dad is anything like mine (or most grandparents), they cherish the time with the littles, even if it isn't always convenient, and they understand more than most when you just need an extra pair of hands. Hang in there mama, you're doing just fine.
