  • How can I be so tired all day and then 9pm rolls around and I’m not ready for bed?? Here I am, 2 hours later sitting and doing nothing!
I have my first OB appointment tomorrow and I’m excited and anxious. I was so symptomatic last time by now but my nausea this time subsided this week big time. So I’m ready to know what’s happening down there.

Also DH had his wisdom teeth out yesterday and I can tell he’s trying not to complain too much but he’s miserable. So I have two babies right now. Plus my parasite. (I mean that in the most loving possible way. But it’s stealing nutrients and making me tired so... that’s what it is for now!)
  • @meatballs37 you were in August 16’?! I was too but I think we must of ended up in different fb groups? 🤔
  • @whitney812 yeah it had two groups. The one you are in started early. I joined it, but thought it was just too hectic for my taste with over 100 people and no organization. Not sure if it is still like that or not. The one I’m in is only 50 ladies who joined at the end when the babies were born.

  • @shadesofgreen816 Good luck at your appointment today!  I'm like that too, exhausted all day and then when I fall into bed, my overactive worried brain kicks in and I can't sleep.
  • yes to all the judging comments on how many kids you want. People can mind their own business. We're only on #2 right now and a lot of people know we want 4. But i get so many comments of "are you sure you want that many" or "maybe you'll change your mind". 1. Yes I'm sure I want that many. Just because I see someone else's kids acting a little crazy doesn't make me want less. I'm fully aware of how crazy kids can act. 2. We won't change our minds. We've wanted 4 since before we got married and even started trying for kids.
  • @runyogamom I took DD2 for pictures the other day. We happen to get worked in right at lunch time. We normally do an early lunch and nap so we have all afternoon to play. So, of course my kids were in rare form. DS2 my usual trouble maker was on a roll. The lady helping me pictures asked me if I spank my kids. 😳 I said, "oh, you must think my kids are acting crazy because I don't discipline them."

First off, don't ask me if I spank my kids.

Second, you left me standing there for 40 extra minutes while you helped other people. Like I had all day.

Third, give my kids some grace. It is lunch time and nap time. A deadly combination in public.
  • @emeraldcity603 I can't imagine my face if someone asked me if I spank my child. Maybe I do, maybe I don't. What difference does it make to that stranger? No matter what form of discipline is used on kids their just going to be a little crazy sometimes because they're uhhh kids.

And honestly, I'm an a adult and if it's lunch time and I've waited to long I can get hangry. Let alone a kid.
    People need more common sense.
  • emeraldcity603 - WHAT?! I can't believe anyone, let alone a STRANGER, would ever have the gall to ask someone if they spank their kids! I can't even imagine what kind of answer she was hoping for. I probably would've made some terrible comment about how I'm not above spanking rude photographers, but then again I have... issues with rude and unprofessional people. Impressed you kept it together without slapping her.
  • Ugh and woke up to fraud on our debit card.  At least it was only $200 before we caught it.  It.pisses me off so much.

@KissMeImScottish I’m on aspirin bc of chronic hypertension (diagnosed when I was 22). Aspirin, calcium (pre-e) and BP controlling meds.
Scared the crap out of me. on it since Week 5- 4 days after BFP. It’s actually been somewhat helpful in diverting headaches I think. So there’s a plus.
  • @sparklingdiamond Oh, no!!! That's such a bummer  At least it sounds like you caught it early!
  • @emeraldcity603 I can’t handle people in my bubble now, let alone later on. O.O

randomly, does it matter that I’m from Aus, not the US? I think that’s what’s been holding me back the most from posting. Haven’t been seeing many people from outside the US but also haven’t found any real active forums like this from my side of the world.
However, ‘lurking’ has put my mind at ease more than once. So I thank you all regardless :)
  • @011sammie017, thank you! It’s nice to hear so many other women are on the same precautions. I don’t have chronic hypertension, but I do seem to have instant gestational hypertension (legit, I can take my BP one month and have it be 110/70, a month later, I’m pregnant and it has jumped to 130/85, where it hangs out the entire pregnancy). I’ve lost 40 lbs since I had the twins, and so far, my BP has been cooperating so far. I admit to being more nervous than normal this time around. I’m very hopeful for a VBAC and I’m an excellent candidate (successful vaginal birth with my son, c-section with the twins was due to malpresentation if twin B, not for medical reasons) but that means I have to go into labor on my own this time (can’t be induced). So if my BP spikes up, which I’m at higher risk for since I had pre-e with the twins, that’s an automatic section. So that’s a very long winded way of saying that here’s to hoping the asprin helps!

And for what it’s worth, I don’t think it matters at all that your from Aus. There is actually an Aussie and a Kiwi in my Sept. 15 group that are still very active in our Facebook group! So I say welcome, please jump in!

  • @KissMeImScottish thank you. And well done (I think? It’s a good thing, yeh?) on the weight loss. Since being on the aspirin and labetalol cocktail my blood pressure has remained steady at 130/80 which is the best it’s been since I was 17 and Ob is happy.
I haven’t really given much thought to birth plans yet. Other than being in a hospital with doctors! (My sister planned for a home birth and I was agog at the thought- each their own I guess). I guess I’ll do what doc tells me to do— and will really begin to plan once I hit 2nd trimester.
Fingers crossed for you! There is one thing- I wish they weren’t so bitter. Tablets are usually fine (I can take several at once usually) but those ones make me want to gag every time even though they’re tiny.
  • @011sammie017 heck yes jump in! I love how this app makes the world feel a little smaller. Like hi, I'm in what most consider a small city smack in the middle of the country (although when I was in Manhattan once I was informed I don't live in a city, I live on the equivalent of a city BLOCK), chatting about my sore boobs and what I ate for lunch and sharing life with gals from all over the globe. Kinda take for granted how cool that is, but I can only imagine what my grandma's generation would have thought about our ability to do that.

Sorry to get all philosophical... TL;DR: hang out! We're nice, I promise.
  • @meatballs37 it’s still at 91 members but everyone is pretty close. I must have joined a bit later in it, it’s always seemed organized to me 😂
  • I mentioned it yesterday about trying to find baby's heartbeat with my home Doppler.  Took a minute, but not too early to find it (10w4d). It was loud and strong so I probably could have found it a week or so ago.

I could just listen to that HB all day. Makes it feel real.💓
  • Love the May Flu Shot thread. Also love the fact that my flu shot didn't make me sick this year. 10/10 would get it again.
  • @meatballs37 oh man, that's a good one. People are legit crazy.

  • @meatballs37 I saw that. She must be in major denial. Probably why she refuses to go back to the doctor.
  • @ruby696 @Erin1510 I can’t believe people like this exist. Eek.

  • Ok didn't know where to post this, but figured it was kind of random. Is anyone else having trouble with their Bump app? For some reason, when I look at threads on my phone app, the "Leave a Reply" box isn't there so I can't post anything. Not sure what's going on, but curious to know if anyone else was having this issue or it's just me.

Try hitting reply and it will take you to be login. Hopefully after logging back in on mobile, it will work. I had the same issue yesterday. And TB app has been weird all week too. Icons missing, love tits missing etc. it looks to be fixed now after you login again.

  • @meatballs37 i had to go look at the poster in first tri. I never even checked out those boards. I dont know what to say other than you are or you arent and if your doc wont entertain a blood test they think you cray cray
  • @meatballs37 thanks so much! That fixed it!
  • I had to go look at her posts...homegirl is CRAZY! Saying her doctor told her 12 weeks is too early to confirm a pregnancy...ooookay.

  • That chick has to be joking right? 12 weeks and no positive test. No sweetie, you're not pregnant.
  • Doesn't really feel like a symptom, so into randoms it goes. I keep crying after sex. I feel so ridiculous.
  • @nmbrcrnchr1 Ha, I was surprised no one posted that gif.

I leave tomorrow for San Diego for a work drip (APHA anyone?). It will be my first conference fully by myself.  Most of the time there coworkers or a friend from home meets me. I've been there once before for a work trip, one these times I'm going for fun lol. We were thinking about making it into a family trip by now that June 19 is on the way H needs to hoard days off and we need to hoard money.

  • I get the lousy mom award today. My stomach is a hot mess right now - this feels more stomach bug and less pregnancy related. I was feeling sick enough that I actually had to be in the bathroom long enough this morning that my son missed his bus and I had to drive him. And because of that, I’ve been such a slug today - getting off the couch makes me feel like I need to run to the bathroom. W has been an absolute trooper, letting me rest and picking up his toys and everything, but I feel SO bad that I just don’t have the energy to give him or the twins much attention today. I’ve pretty much been supervising play from the couch. MH left to go to sea today, so he’s not here for me to tap out with, so I’m generally just feeling guilty and lousy and useless. I think dinner for the kids is probably going to be left over pizza, peas, and apple sauce because none of that requires cooking. Meanwhile, all I want is Mexican enchiladas, which is TOTALLY not what what my stomach needs right now and I don’t live anywhere that does delivery. Sigh. I’m a mess.

  • I coughed so hard I peed.... for the second day in a row. I haven’t even had this baby yet!!!!
  • @KissMeImScottish A lousy mom would be the one who doesn't take care of herself, especially with her husband gone. Even just typing that is proof that you're NOT a lousy mom! I'm glad your son has been helping out, and hope you've been able to get a little rest and get whatever bug it is out of your system. And no kid in the history of EVER has complained about pizza and applesauce for dinner, I'm pretty sure... that sounds super good to me and I'm an adult. They're fine, and you will be too. You're a hero, mama...hang in there and get well soon!
