Okay, I need help! I can't figure out how to GIF on mobile. I went to Google, found a GIF and copied the link. Then in a comment I click on the image button (with the mountains) and paste the link, then I don't know what to do? There's no insert or save?
@wearyfuzzball I’m almost exclusively on the mobile app, so what I do is use Giphy.com, find the gif I want, press and hold it to save the image to my phone. Then come to the bump, click on the mountain to insert a pic and the select the gif from my camera roll
I tried on my new maternity leggings, they are a size too big but it was glorious having pants that were so comfy and loose but stayed up. I dug out my maternity pants to check them out and found some elastic waist pants I bought for PP, so nice not having pants tight on my tummy.
Found myself in a Google rabbit hole again this morning. It's one thing to check ingredients on everything I eat now, but finding out my eyeshadow may not be "pregnancy safe" is annoying. The last science class I took was 15 years ago. I have no idea what the difference is between tocopheryl acetate and just banging a bunch of keys on my keyboard for some random alphabet soup words. I can do ok in the food world, but when we start in on chemicals in beauty products that are 10+ letters long I get lost and frustrated.
@ki1244 +1 for not wearing make up like ever so havent worried about that. I did freak out at work a couple weeks ago when i noticed someone using caviwipes - super strong anti viral and bacterial wipe on our water dispenser. How do i know it didnt touch spout? Drinking tap water from now on at the office
@canuckbaby that's the most frustrating thing, I don't really do a lot! Moisturizer, eyeshadow, mascara, and go. I wear my husband's deodorant for crying out loud. But my moisturizer is off limits now (Trader Joe's...has retinyl), and apparently my eyeshadow does too. If there's something in my mascara that makes it a no-go, I quit.
I think this is more of a BF..but I seriously hate when parents scare their kids on purpose. Or make them sad on purpose and laugh.
DH and I watch these YouTube videos from a channel called FailArmy. There was one where this dad scared the shit out of his 2 year old twins (on purpose). They immediately grabbed each other and held on tight. All the while looking absolutely terrified. And he laughed. I immediately started crying. I don’t care if that makes me uptight or whatever.
The world is scary enough as it is. Kids should be able to at least trust their parents.
Oh, and then of course I was up all night imagining scenarios where family members did that to my kids and playing out how angry I would be and what would happen. Because, you know, anxiety.
@srscott3 I think it's all about how far you go with it. I love the Jimmy Kimmel prank where the parents tell their kids they ate all of their Halloween candy.
BUT scaring your kids to where they are traumatized is not cool. My dad used to shut me in my room and tell me Chucky was coming and I literally had nightmares for years.

@eleven_ Oh I’m so sorry it’s definitely stuff like that that makes my stomach turn. The Jimmy Kimmel stuff isn’t bad though. I think that actually shows a kids true character. But I had a cousin who told her kids that their dog died when he was just going to a routine vet appointment. Like who tf does that.
@sparklingdiamond Right?! My heart aches when DD is sad. Who would find joy in that?
@srscott3 i agree i dont like the intentional scare the pants off a kid just for the fun of it. I do like the jimmy kimmel ones with the candy. They are a practical joke not a therapy session waiting to happen. Omg thats a cruel thing to do to your kids about the family dog!!!
My brother and sil like to scare their two kids. My H and I hate it, so we put our foot down if they ever try it with DS. DS likes being play scared but I would never try to scare him for real.
Hi everyone! I'm back after an insane week last week! We had to go down to RI for DH's grandmother's funeral late last week, which sucked. But as a silver lining, I got to meet two of my best friends' new babies on Thursday, when I normally would not have been around during the week. Also, on Saturday we took DS to the New England Aquarium and his mind was blown! It was so cool to see it through his eyes. Also, DH's cousin's wife is pregnant (her 4th, his 3rd) and due in May. We haven't told family we're expecting yet, but I'm excited baby #2 will have a family member his/her age! DS doesn't have any direct cousins, and none of our cousins have kids close to his age, so this will be nice.

Maybe FFMC: I don't pay any attention to what's in my beauty products, face wash, shampoo etc. My doctor has never said I should so <shrug>. I also eat lunch meat though so maybe I'm just a bad rule follower.
@emeraldcity603 I know what's going to happen to who, since they've been giving spoilers for a couple of weeks now... so I'll definitely have some tissues ready.
Also, any chance you're from NH? (603 in your username)

Add me to the not worrying about my beauty products, etc. There are some rules I follow pretty rigidly (I don’t condemn those who choose to have a drink or two, but I choose to abstain, I avoid sushi and the Big 4 fish that you’re supposed to avoid, I take my prenatals like clockwork), but I happily eat turkey sandwiches and I definitely indulged in raw cookie dough last night.

@runyogamom and @emeraldcity603 I switch my face wash to something milder, but I still wear my regular makeup. I also eat lunch meat. And raw eggs (cookie dough and salad dressing). But it's my 3rd, so I'm pretty relaxed.
Oh, y'all made me feel so much better about the hunk of raw cookie dough I ate Sunday morning!!! As a FTM, it's so hard navigating the do's and dont's of pregnancy. I had no idea that I should look at my beauty products?! I suck at being pregnant!
Not sure where else to put this - is anyone else on an aspirin regimen? I had pre-e with my twins (BP was close to 200/100 by the time I was admitted), but twin pregnancy is a whole different animal, so not sure how relevant it is to my current pregnancy. Anyway, I talked to my doctor last week, curious if my history would impact my care this time around, and she started me on a baby aspirin a day. Research is so mixed on this subject, but it generally seems safe and recommended and obviously, I trust my doctor. It’s just so hard to mentally get around the fact that it’s asprin, since NSAIDs are such big no-nos during pregnancy (despite the low dose being shown to be not only safe but beneficial in women with a history of gestational BP issues). Just curious if anyone else is in the same position.

@KissMeImScottish I had preeclampsia/HELLP with my son. I’ll be starting baby aspirin this week ETA: I’m not at all concerned. If anything, I’d be concerned if my MFM didn’t prescribe it. I’m part of a large preeclampsia survivors Facebook group and aspirin is pretty much a guarantee for subsequent pregnancies.
I think this is more of a confession but my SO called in sick to work today so we could “spend more time together” (aka he didn’t want to go to work) and now I’m bummed because I have to share the tv! I was really looking forward to getting my tv time in after watching football all weekend.
@luckystar28, thank you. That actually makes me feel quite a lot better. I remember them briefly discussing putting me on asprin last time as well, because twins often lead to BP issues, but then I started bleeding at 12 weeks from a SCH, and I guess asprin can sometimes exacerbate bleeding, so they held off. Hearing that this is not only normal but recommended is very comforting. Maybe I’ll finally be able to avoid what feels like inevitable BP issues this last time around!

@antera23 we have a tv in the bedroom and in living room. It helps in those situations. We have together shows and shows watch separately. Its hockey season so thats the sport of choice which i enjoy.
@shamrocandroll no, I changed my screenname when I joined this group and added 603 because it's my EDD. I know, kinda lame haha!
I make sure I don't wear anything with retinol but I have either been pregnant or nursing for the last 5 years so I haven't had a chance to buy anything like that.
@KissMeImScottish I'm taking low dose aspirin too. My last three pregnancies *TW* were CP's and a MMC *End TW* so my doctor decided to put me on aspirin in case I have a clotting issue. I do have a MTHFR variation, which can lead to clotting. Mine is not severe, but I'm taking aspirin and I'm still pregnant. *knocks on wood* I was a little concerned in case I was taking it unnecessarily, but I trust my doctor and am unwilling to risk another MC, so I'm totally on board.
Re: Weekly Randoms 11/5
I can GIF on my phone or home computer, but not at work. I do the same thing on my phone as the other ladies mentioned.
I usually don't mind Monday, Tuesdays are my enemy. But oh man, today is already kicking my ass.
Thanks @nmbrcrnchr1 and @srscott3 !!!!!!
