Spent a couple hours in L&D this morning because of some cramping and pelvic pain. Cervix and baby look great! Some bacteria visible by microscope in my urine sample, so I’m home but the lab is running a culture to see if I have a bladder infection. Should take a couple days.

@Rachel2066 they let me have sips of water during my 3 hour test- strange how every provider is different! I wouldn’t have made it 3 hours without those little sips!
Tip though- i wouldn’t drink a ton of water after your 3 hour; I had a pb&j in the car after my 3 hour and then drank a ton of water and then started to feel sick.... oops!
@Rachel2066 That's awful! I hate how inconsistent labs and doctors are about that. Some don't allow it, while others do because water can't actually affect blood sugar results.
I have my 3 hour tomorrow, and made sure to get the ok from my OB's office (in an email I can show the lab) that water is ok. I'm still anxious that the lab will try to tell me no, though. I have difficult veins, so there's zero chance they'll be able to draw blood in the last hour unless I have water.
I just got my raw results from the 3 hour GTT. No OB analysis yet, but I think I'm good. The only hour I failed was hour 2, by 2 points. Hour 1 I passed, but only by 3 points. However, my hour 3 score was well within range (down to 78 after a 156 in hour 2), so I'm hoping that's a good sign.
@AshVA fingers crossed! I did mine this morning and felt ok the whole time, but when I got up and walked out to my car at the end I started feeling really woozy. Luckily I made it to Panera and after almost passing out in line I got food and water and felt a lot better. I definitely came home and took a nap after though. I’m hoping mine went well! They said I should have results tomorrow or Wednesday.
BP is creeping up. Womp womp. 125/89 I think she said. She even took it a second time. The OB is not concerned yet. I've only put on about 15 lbs, measuring about two weeks ahead. Got my FMLA paperwork and pump prescription. We've hit the every two week appointments mark. 😬
@AshVA@DLpanda08 yeah! I failed my first hour but passed the other three and I passed in general. I almost passed out at Panera after the end of mine, and when they called to give me the results the nurse commented “your last hour was actually really low, you might have been dizzy”. Ummm yeahhhh.... thanks! Haha
Had an appointment today. LOs heart rate is good. I've still only gained 3.5 lbs but measuring on target. I have a growth scan on 11/28.
My Dr answered a lot of my questions about the NICU. She said very rarely maybe one a month a baby gets transferred and if that happens, they transfer mom and baby together. They also transfer to the NICU right by my house. So we are sticking with our original plan and I feel so happy and good about everything
@mrsmang yeah that dizzy feeling when it was all over was the worst. I failed all but my fasting draw for mine and got the GD diagnosis, but going that long without so much as a sip of water was brutal! It didn’t help that some jerk came into the lab around the 2 hour mark with a big bag of chick fil a.

Ugh, yeah I feel like they should warn you about that possibility. My blood sugar also dropped really low after my 3 hour GTT last time. I was having a hard time sitting in a chair to eat without falling over.
Awaiting results of the 3 hour GTT. Had the same feeling you did @mrsmang it was miserable. I was so shaky and sick feeling by the end when I left that I vowed I’m never doing it again. I don’t care if I have 15 kids, that’s the last time I’m doing that damn test. Starting to get pissy because they said results would be up this morning and I’m still waiting.
I felt the worst between hours 1 and 2 of the test. I was moderately dizzy and had to take deep breaths, but fortunately never felt like I was going to pass out or throw up. By the last hour I was starving and grumpy. They said I could have "small sips at a time" of water, but weren't tracking how much I drank.
I tested on Saturday, so DH dropped me off and picked me up so I wouldn't have to drive. He brought me Taco Bell so I could eat right away. At the time it seemed like the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life.
I brought a banana to eat and that was perfect for me. Food honestly did not sound that good so I just grazed the rest of the day.
I'm also surprised so many of you have to wait for results. They literally drew my blood and ran into the lab to test it and then told me right away what my numbers were. Maybe because I go to a small clinic? I'm just glad I knew right away I passed.
My OB wants me to take it within the next week. I took next Tuesday off to work the polls for election day so I'll go in the morning so I don't have to burn any more PTO.
@UnbreakableKimmySchmidt I get mine within a few hours via the patient portal. Our lab just draws stuff and sends everything off site for testing.
I passed but had to call to ask for results and they didn’t have specific numbers. Yes @ladystout08 bring something. I went to chipotle and ate a burrito and then went to McDonald’s and got a McFlurry. Both were necessary in my opinion.
Had a routine check up today. Baby's HB was good at 144. There was a nurse practitioner training with the doctor I was seeing so the appointments were running like a half hour behind which was annoying, but she ended up being really nice so it wasn't too bad. They said I am measuring at 33 weeks (2 weeks ahead) And said if I am still measuring ahead in 2 weeks they will schedule an ultrasound. I assume to check fluid levels and get and estimated weight on the baby? I guess we will see!

@AshVA you’ve got to fail at least two of the three testing times to be diagnosed with GD, so looks like you’re good! Yay!
