@sparkymcgeee I mean... I definitely don’t LOVE it and wouldn’t choose to drink it regularly, but I don’t really mind it either. @AshVA I’m fairly certain mine was room temp with DD but cold this time. Cold was MUCH better.

With DD they pulled the drink out if a fridge. I had the clear one and it wasn’t that bad. There is just a lot to drink at once but I think they give you 5-10 min. Doing mine on Friday...!
I just got my 1 hr GTT results and I'm keeping my fingers crossed she won't make me do the 3 hr. My results were 137 and my lab shows the cut off for the 3 hr at 135 but Mayo Clinic says it's 140. I'm more afraid of getting super sick with a 3 hr because of my reactive hypoglycemia. DH is diabetic so we're pretty educated with diabetes in general and after my 1 hr last saturday I wasn't feeling great so I took my glucose and it was 44.
I had my glucose test and rhogam shot last week, just waiting on the results of the test now and trying not to stress. We have a strong family history of diabetes so this has been a fear of mine.
I’m going every two weeks now so I have an appointment next week for my tdap and flu shots, a growth scan, and 30 week checkup. I’ll have another checkup close to Halloween.

Had an appt this morning. I had a follow up scan to try to get shots of the baby’s spine that the tech couldn’t get during my anatomy scan. No dice. Little boy just wouldn’t let her see the base of his spine, so I’ll have another ultrasound when I got back in 4 weeks. I’ll also do my glucose test next time.
+1 on not thinking that the glucose drink is that bad. I mean, it definitely not something I want to drink all the time, but I didn’t find it grosss
My dr said there was a bit of blood in my urine and asked if I had any symptoms of a UTI (which I don’t).. same thing happened at my last appt.

@saltedcaramel518 assuming that your BP has been ok? Blood in urine can also be a sign of elevated BP / preeclampsia -- probably not a huge concern, if they're saying it's a small amount.
My glucose drink was pulled from the fridge both times I've done it. Maybe I'll get lucky and will be able to try to fruit punch this time? I think I dislike it so much because of how sugary it was. Bleh.
so I had an appt today (normal checkup) and I asked about the top of my belly button poking out -- like, is that normal? Apparently not -- it's an umbilical hernia! Does anyone else have one of these? It's a little sore, and the area gets a little sore sometimes, but otherwise I think it's ok. If you've had one, did it resolve on its own after pregnancy?
@wkuandrea Well, I'm a bit confused! lol The top of my belly button pokes out a bit. I googled umbilical hernias, and the results varied a lot on what that actually is... And I was reading that even just the belly button becoming an outie is considered a hernia. Sooo... I'd think it would be pretty tough to say whether or not it's an actual problem, or if it'll resolve after pregnancy.
@saltedcaramel518 with DD I had blood in my urine several times in 2nd and 3rd tri, but cultures were clear so no infection. The first time was around Thanksgiving and they had me on modified bed rest for a week. Other than blood in my urine, I had no signs of infection or anything else wrong. Weird stuff happens when you are pregnant.
@leighbrek confusing, right? The Dr wasn’t too concerned and said to just keep an eye on it. It’s not that uncommon in pregnancy (as you pointed out, even “outties” can be classified as hernias).
@wkuandrea I had one that popped out with DD2. My doctor said to keep pressing it back in because it can be serious if it becomes strangulated, if it pops out and twists basically. If that happens he said it will be super painful and you'll need emergency surgery. It's annoying but not painful. I never noticed it again after DD2 was born so we forgot to get it fixed and it's been an issue this pregnancy since I started getting bigger. It's my whole belly button. It pokes out so bad. My doctor said if it didn't bother me when I wasn't pregnant it might not be worth fixing. But we might just do it when I get my tubal since he'll be in there anyways.
@molosmiles that's kind of scary! Yeah I keep pushing it back in -- it's like a little gumball at the top of my navel. Hopefully just another super awesome pregnancy side effect that goes away
@bradleysmommy28 Would they let you track your blood sugar for a week or something like that as an alternative? I know a couple people that were able to do that instead of the GTT. I had reactive hypoglycemia with my first and it sucks. I crashed really badly after the 3 hour test.
I had an early GTT and it was lemon-like and cold. It reminded me of an ice pop which I was totally okay with. I have another GTT at the beginning of Nov and hoping it is good.
This was my third GTT and the first time I had the fruit punch. It was repulsive. I have had the yellow and the orange before and thought they weren’t that bad. Tasted like Gatorade. This time they only had red and it tasted just like that red Hawaiian Punch drink, but like a concentrated version. Ew. I passed thankfully. But I wouldn’t choose red unless you really enjoy Hawaiian Punch haha
Got a call from the office that my iron is low so I need to start taking iron pills...booo. I picked them up from the pharmacy but need to actually start taking them.
I had the orange drink for my GT and cold it doesn't really taste that bad. I did feel a lot worse this time then I did with DS. I felt a little nauseous but mainly dizzy. Glad I passed and I don't have to deal with the 3 hour test.
@pttomato I asked but she said no, just try it. If I get too sick to finish then she'll possibly agree to a log. I'm going at 6am tomorrow in hopes that I'm not down and out the entire day.
I had an appointment with my OB this morning with the GTT. Had a warm orange drink. Definitely not something I would choose to drink again but not terrible. Not sure when I get the results for that back, but everything else at my appointment went well. They gave me the most overwhelming packet of paperwork to start filling out ( disability forms for work, health care proxy, hospital registration forms that require me to state my entire birth plan, my pediatrician, whether or not LO will be circumcised, lots of things I haven't even thought about). This is getting very real!
Fetal echo this morning went well and everything looks normal. The cardiologist looked at my ultrasound from last week and thinks we just got a weird angle/view and that's why the MFM said it was abnormal.
Got my results back from the glucose screening and I failed miserably. I go for my 3 hour test Tuesday morning but I’m not optimistic that it will be good news. Not with my family history.

Ugh, I’m sorry. I hope it doesn’t end up being too bad and that you pass!
Had a growth scan today. Baby is measuring in the 92 percentile. Tech asked me if I had gestational diabetes. I don't have the test until next Thursday. Baby is weighing close to 3 lbs. Yikes. Of course now my health anxiety has kicked in.
I'm a little surprised that an ultrasound tech gives as much information as she did. She said that I either have gestational diabetes or that having a large baby is hereditary. My husband was 11 pounds when he was born. Just another thing to obsess over I guess.
Add me to the list of those who failed the 1hr glucose test (by 8 points). I’m going back Monday for my 2hr one (apparently where I am in Canada they only do 1hr and 2hr tests).
Officially got the news that I failed the 1 hr. Got a reading of 173 so I'm not super confident about the 3 hour test and realllllly not looking forward to it on Wednesday.
I just took my GT and instead of feeling nauseous it hit my stomach in the other direction. I hope that doesn't mess it up. I only had 20minutes left and started to feel really hot so I went to the bathroom and my face was so red. I had to splash some water on me and finally started to feel a little better. I don't have an appointment with my OB until the 30th. But obviously if I fail, they will contact me sooner.
I also did my GTT today and FX I don’t fail. The drink wasn’t horrible but I also chugged in down in a min or two tops. Growth scan coming soon and I’ve graduated to appointments every 2 weeks. 😳
@ms_stevens87 wow I can't believe you're at every 2 weeks now!! It feels like we just got our BFPs. This is moving to fast!
I know. It’s nuts!! Looking back it definitely feels like time is starting to fly. First tri dragged for me. Mostly Bc my PGAL brain wouldn’t let me relax. Hoping once I reach third it continues to move and groove. Very grateful I decided to finally start posting. You ladies have been an awesome support system.

Had an OB appointment too and everything was going great until the glucose results came in, although the doctor didn’t seem overly concerned.

Otherwise baby is healthy and head down.
